Nice looking hotel/pub. Decent size beer garden outside. Food was good and had plenty of flavour. And nice selection of local ales and other beers to choose from. The meals are a reasonable price and also do a set menu which is good. Kids menu and seems to be dog friendly place. Place looks tidy and clean and nice layout inside. Only fault, could do with a separate bar away from the food area as got a bit packed and noisy in one area.

Food good, good value. One waitress was nice but the other was a bit rude. Meal for 4, 2 steaks, wine, sea bass and veg risotto for £60

Given that this was a Christmas meal, which obviously means a huge number of meals are being served at once, the food was generally good. The camembert starter and sticky toffee pudding were very nice.

A clean and well decorated private hotel serving good food and excellent freshly cooked breakfast. A handy location for the Derbyshire Dales tourist locations.

This is basically a pub with bed and breakfast… after saying that, the room was massive and comprised a four poster bed, settee, sky box with a decent size screen, large ensuite with bath and over bath shower. The shower was brand new and of good quality. The breakfast was included and there was a good choice. The big breakfast was just that! And with no surcharge. We stayed on a Sunday night and there was a local brass band playing outside in the rain! The rooms were very clean and tidy… just a little new paint needed here and there but that was about it. For £70 (room with breakfast) we were very pleased. We hope to return as the area is fascinating and even the building is part of The Whitworth Centre and Park.

Very clean and spacious rooms (we had the family and deluxe rooms). Staff really friendly and flexible with special requests. Location brilliant for hanging out and warm sunny days like we had.

Barrington's was very handy for the location of our friends wedding. The room was very large and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.

It was very good, nice food.

Lovely spacious suite nice and clean and comfortable. Friendly welcoming hosts. Large selection for breakfast. Good location close to lots of little towns. Would recommend good value for money.

Excellent food, good beer, beautiful building, friendly staff. A bit pricey but worth it. Not tried the hotel as we live locally but if it's anything like as well run as the rest of the place it will be great.

The beer and steaks were first class and the staff helpful and pleasant.

Went for Sunday lunch. The food was good, but the service was slow. Especially waiting for pudding.

Only nipped in for a drink so can't say much about food. You're talking 3.50 a pint upwards and its a classic bistro type venue. Quite a few pretentious folk there so not my scene really, but friendly and helpful staff make up for that.

This is beautiful building with baronial style public rooms. It looks expensive from the outside but in fact the prices were very reasonable. It was fairly quiet (which I like) when I ate there and the service correspondingly attentive. I did find the beer (Doom Bar) very slightly over-kept, but the food was good.
