Beautiful pub, friendly staff. Dinner was a bit of a let down. When I cut into cauliflower (cauliflower cheese), it was black, obviously rotten. Did point this out to waitress, she said "yuk", but that was as far as it went. No offer to replace or reduce bill. Pudding was amazing. Overall for nearly £80 for a 2 course dinner for two people, disappointed. Would return to pub though, beautiful place, but would be reluctant to eat.

We have just returned home after a fabulous lunch to celebrate a family Birthday. The food was truly excellent and nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff. The ambiance in the restaurant was delightful and we were impressed with the imaginative menu. We look forward to returning soon.

The food is excellent, the service is really nice and friendly. But I have to say the Apple Tarte Tartin is worth visiting for on its own.

I can honestly say we have just had the best food we have had in years even the kids polished off every bit of theirs too! Also Great staff in a stylish pub with a roaring fire what more can you want! One not to be missed and we will be back!

Allot of pubs are struggling with balancing the Covid restrictions and giving a super friendly warm welcome. Not this pub… they’ve nailed it. Super staff, super food with great service. Really really good… five stars from me.

Came here on Sunday for a meal and it was delicious. Very impressed. We sat in the garden as the weather was lovely. The staff were great.

Worth a drive from stoke for the Sunday roast. Delicious.

Great cuisine, but there are nuances!

This pub has fast become my favourite place to eat in Staffordshire! Every time I have been, it has been faultless. The best food I have eaten out! The menu changes regularly, so I always have the choice to try something new! Service has never let me down, and the atmosphere is cosy and relaxed.

Normally I would rate this pub as a 5 star. We have eaten here on numerous occasions and it's always been fantastic. However it seems to determine which staff are waiting on. We certainly knew It was James's night off. The service was dreadful with the waitress being extremely rude to my parents. The food was of average equality and the portion sizes were particularly small. A very disappointing experience which will not be repeated.
