Great food n drinks selection, many locally sourced. Nice atmosphere, old world pub at one end, new light n airy bistro at other. Parking usually available and plenty of walks straight outside.

Friendly service, good food, fair prices. One part of the restaurant is cozy pub style, the other part is more modern and colorful. It also has a nice garden terrace. Good place to eat if you are in the area.

Excellent cuisine in an attractive pub environment. Quite dear for the East Midlands region but worth it for the quality. Accommodation available (14 rooms). Good location for exploring the Peak District. Real ale. Adequate car parking.

Nice pub on the way to Chatsworth House. Good food and friendly staff. Parking spots are difficult at busy periods.

Service brilliant, food lovely. Bedrooms way overpriced and in need of improving updating to justify the price. Booked a DBB package direct with hotel, and found the menu had several options with supplements attached. Struggled to chose.

The place is a pretty Inn in a pretty village. I had very high hopes but ultimately I wasn't overly impressed and left with the feeling it was quite good but not great. The bar lacked atmosphere and there is very little engagement by the staff, some of whom were fairly humourless and not keen on smiling. The bar is chilly too with 2 small log burners which didn't combat the drafty windows and door. The food is good but not brilliant. Bread rolls come direct from the freezer to the table so the crust is cracky and mine on both nights had a cold spot in the middle. Peas not available as alternative to mushy peas which just seemed odd. Wrong drink brought one night and wrong sauce the next. There is little or no 'sure we can' flexibility. They charge heftily. It is not all bad and is good in parts but overall a pricey and slightly disappointing experience.

A very pretty, relaxing and well run Restaurant in a lovely village setting. Beautiful food nicely presented by very attentive staff. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

We were out walking when we came across this pleasant traditional pub set in the small but pretty village of Neely on the Chatsworth Estate. We only popped in for a brew but the lounge was pleasant with low beamed ceilings and a log fire. They have a varied menu and whilst we didn't eat we did order a pot of tea which was served swiftly and pleasantly by the welcoming staff. Prices seemed reasonable and the food that others had ordered looked and smelt very tempting. If only we hadn't eaten out pack up before we arrived. All in all a nice venue in a nice setting. We'll be back and next time we'll take an appetite.

My wife and I had dinner, stopped overnight and then a hearty breakfast. The standard of accommodation was excellent as was the food and service.

Had a great lunch from a great menu and the wine list was pretty impressive as well. People food all excellent.

I've been here a few times now at different parts of a day. In this case we had lunch. Even though the kitchen closed for lunch at 2:30pm they were fantastic and I'd rung airhead to say we would be close to the cut off time for ordering. Four adults and three kids with a toddler ran through the door like a gang of hot sheep at 14:29. We had a great table and high chair all set up. The food arrived quickly and was fantastic. Great beer on tap too. Big fan of thornbridge. Dogs are welcome too and there's plenty of nooks and crannies to have a private meal for two if that's what you are after. This is one of the best gastronomical delights of the Peak District. You can stay over too in snug rooms if the mood takes you. Would recommend for anyone and everyone. A great place.

A smart country inn serving excellent food. The staff cheerful & efficient. Lovely roaring fire on a cool, damp day.

My girl-friend went there on the 4th September. We originally asked for 2 diet pepis. We sat down and we noticed the drinks were totally flat. We suggested they offer us new drinks. The 3 staff looked fed up and the young girl said I better look at the pumps then. We had 2 new drinks. But, there was very little coke in it. We suggested we would just leave. All we got was 'we are sorry'. No offer of recompense. The trouble with employing young staff is that they have no customer experience. Whilst it may improve the owners margins it did nothing for us. We were intending to purchase lunch and look to book accommodation. If you cannot handle 2 cokes we doubt you can handle much else. A shame, because a really lovely pub. Try employing grown ups. Thanks.

Stayed here for a wedding, couldn't fault the food (fantastic and a decent breakfast too), well kept ales as well. Lovely accommodation but you pay for it, £165 a night. Hence 4 stars.

Nice cosy pub. Fabulous choice of drinks. Only thing to complain about was cost of the Sunday dinner for the amount you received… more vegetables for sure and at least the offer of more gravy. Staff member came to see if everything was fine yet we was finished… slightly disappointed.

Lovely ambience. Welcome drinks break. Drinking chocolate perfect. Dogs allowed inside. Lovely little Rambou biscuits with drinks.

How all pubs should be. If I cud award any more stars I wud do. Pricey beer but worth every penny as it a lovely pint. Very nice chips aswell.

Good service but not quite as good a meal as we had expected for the price. The monkfish was tasteless as was the broth it was in, and the slow cooked beef was very dry. The pork was nice. The sticky toffee pudding had been reheated in a microwave and had been in too long so the bottom was dry and hard to pull apart. A shame, such potential but not up to expectations.

After a day at Chatsworth we called in on the off chance as spotted the garden and the sun was shining. Thoroughly enjoyed a nice bottle of wine and two lovely meals. I had the gammon and my wife had the fish n chips which were delicious and we will be calling in next time we are down. Might even book and stay :-)
