Spent the weekend away here for my mums 60th surprise, staff were lovely from the very start, booked my mum in the bowness suite, she loved it! We stayed in room 9, which yes could do with a little updating but bed was comfy & shower was great. Discount off food/ drinks was a bonus & breakfast was amazing! The doormen were great fun, made us feel safe with all restrictions still being in place. The perfect place only minutes from everything, you get what you pay for. Hope to be back soon!

Bar staff were horrific.
Rude didn’t know the rules and turned the quarter final off for our quarter final.
Power hungry guys trying to apply the law but don’t have a clue.

Good food and value for money. Only one small problem was a waitress who had an attitude problem! Felt like she didn’t want us to be there.

We happened on the bar whilst on a night out, the entertainment was unexpected (shoulda read the notices) but the guy was absolutely hilarious (wish I could remember his name) great atmosphere, brilliant bar staff, fab entertainment — highly recommended.

It's the 1st time weve stayed here and we can totally say we have loved it. 4 nights booked into 4 poster suite its fabulous and huuggee the rooms are absolutely spotless and a real homely feel about it with solid antique furniture with fabulous bathroom and comfy bed. The staff are so friendly and helpful too nothing is too much for them. Food outstanding quality everytime definitely coming back gutted to be leaving this morning thanks all for making myself and mum for a fabulous break away for us.

Frequent this pub a-lot, have also stayed here on numerous occasions over the years. Great atmosphere.

Only went to the bar there but great music and if you want to play some games while at the pub this definitley the place to be.

Lovely place, lovely room, lovely staff who saved us from having to stay at the White House Inn round the corner. Would stay again without a doubt.

Room clean and tidy. Shower cubicle a little small but use able, the bathroom an OK size. Staff are fantastic, very polite and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Night club and bar below, had a good night there. Came here on a girls night for a friends 40th, would happily come back here again. Close to the centre of Bowness. Highly recommended. This hotel. Good value for money.

Its a little bit better on prices cause im not a tight wad but I know what things are worth so a pint of 1664 and a small bottle of wine is £8.15 all the other places around here want about £12 for a pint and a large wine robbing bastards. The staff were nice and the entertainment good overall its a good place.

Greet customer service! Lovely staff members. Location very close to shops, restaurants, parks, cruise… best location! If you want to have a feel of everything in the area. Only thing was room was quite hot but very spacious, clean towels and bathroom was spacious as well. Clean beddings as well. I’ll definitely visit again and recommend to friends & family.

We called in looking for some nice pub grub. And we got It, spot on food and more then enough of it. Nicely hidden away from the hustle and bustle and we will be visiting again.

Lively pub, plenty of sports on for those who like that kind of thing. Very reasonably priced hotel for the location. Live music Friday and Saturday (usually acoustic and comedy) karaoke on Sundays. Late bar and night club open weekends. Pool table.

We looked in at the Stags Head to watch the football. The football was great of course. But the Beers on offer were very good. The barman apologised for not been able to offer all the beers has he Had been extremely busy and had run out. Well worth a visit.

Popped in for a drink with my wife, but there were too many sweary drunk people in there. I know… Drunk people in a pub! How very dare they! Just want the right atmosphere we were looking for.

We went on a Friday evening where there was live music, great atmosphere. The staff were friendly too. So we returned on the Saturday. Having stayed elsewhere within the area, next time we hope to stay here as we enjoyed everything about the place.

Stayed here just last night. Loved the room. Very friendly staff. Fab location. No chef so no meals but breakfast was loverly very clean and quiet once in room. Fab for a night out too. Busy bar singer on and disco til late. Everything you would want really. We will be going back.

We visited here at the weekend. A great all round pub. Plays live sports and has a few screens available to watch. Often has live bands or singers at the weekend. Good atmosphere always. Highly recommended you visit here on a pub crawl round bowness.

Love this pub, staff very friendly. Have stayed at the pub quite a few times and have had some good nights in here. Entertainment good as well.

Great roast beef sandwiches and homemade chips. We all really enjoyed it. Service was great.

Good food and guest ales, friendly staff and most importantly dog friendly. Well worth a visit after a long walk or a night time meal. Good location if you are staying in Bowness or visiting the lake.

Me and my husband have been coming to the Stags head in Bowness for many years now. We are like one of the regulars. We are good friends with the staff. We go there at least three or more times a year. We love to stay in the Windermere suite it's beautiful. We love the karaoke/Disco. We are good friends with Denis who does the karaoke also. The stags is situated near everything in Bowness so it's pretty central. The service is fantastic both for meals and drinks. Since the first day we walked into this place I felt comfortable now we are like part of the fixtures. We even go to the Christmas party in Dec and stop over. Great atmosphere and a great night out. Not forgetting every bank holiday they open Bucks bar down stairs and the partying continues in the basement night club its fantastic! I've also been there with my family and stopped in a family room which was spotless and the kids loved it. I can honestly recommend this place. However if you are after a quiet night a Sunday can be quite noisy. The best place to be in Bowness!

Stag and Hen party destination amongst a nice little village. The pub is actually a nice friendly place but the nightclub was full of mutants.

The stags head pub was excellent, we chatted with the Barman for nearly an hour obout the rugby teams. Great place for a quick pint!

Our favourite pub in the Lake District! Visited now 5 years in a row, we always go on the last day of the holiday for a meal before we come home. Reasonably priced and huge portions of food, you won't be hungry after eating here! Nice selection of ale, lovely atmosphere and the kids enjoy playing pool and listening to the jukebox. Fantastic pub, can not praise it enough!

A great place and central to a bit of exploring. Friendly staff great breakfast and good reasonably priced bar. Stayed there half term June 17 the town was packed to overflowing with tourists. We had their best room, ooou, for our wedding anniversary. The only thing that let this Hotel down was the basement NightClub noisy untill small hours, a nuisance if you have been travelling and tired. This is a younger persons hotel although we were so welcome. Great overall.

Me and my husband stayed here last night for our 1st wedding anniversary, we had a lovely lunch when we arrived and a fabulous breakfast this morning. The pub atmosphere was great in the evening we enjoyed a couple of drinks before heading to our room which was lovely and quiet. Loved the fact we could use the spa facilities next door. We would definitely stay again.

A pleasant, friendly Hotel and Bar, centrally located, only seconds away from Bowness Pier and Lake Cruises. It hosts Karaoke on Sunday evenings and gets very popular, but please be aware that this means an element of noise, as it is a lively venue, especially if the basement Nightclub is open. For the young, or the young at heart however, this makes for an excellent venue to base a Lake District stay. There is no on site parking, but payable parking is available only minutes away at the nearby council 24hr car park.

Location was nice very central. Maybe worth noting due to this there is no parking for the hotel and so pay and Display had to surface at £15 for 3 days. Room was nice and clean breakfast was great a good full English with other cooked breakfast options. The pub seemed lively and inviting but we had 2 young children with us so didn't take the opportunity to have a pint. Would recommend.

Called in for a drink staff were cleaning the brass work nothing up with that but the entire place stunk of brass cleaner. Children were running around not a nice relaxing place.

Hurried in and out with just one night's stay, but it turned out the highlight was neither the room nor the lake but drinking. Thanks again to the amazing guys at the bar. I enjoyed an amazing night of relaxed and friendly talks.

I arrived there the room wasn't cleaned, I had to take another room that was for a family that was horrible, uncomfortable and small. Even though I stated I was prepared to wait for the room to be cleaned, I was told this wont be happening. I had to change rooms the next day although they couldn't tell me when it would be ready even though I had to get changed for a wedding In which I was the best man. Eventually (after much insisting) they told me it would be ready by 11am but it wasn't ready until 12.30. I was very patient with the ordeal and the house keeping staff were rude to me and the person in charge never apologised, gave me a discount or made any attempt to even reconcile this issue so I regret being nice about it. If I would've stayed any longer I would've gone to another place or even paid for an expensive room at the hotel opposite as I was eventually so infuriated by this complete lack of service. With all these issues the rooms weren't even clean the bath rooms had damp (both rooms) and the pictures on the websites for booking are certainly misleading. This was the worst hotel/B&B I have ever been to and the staff don't care as you pay on entry so for them it doesn't matter. If you like the lakes or have a wedding don't go to the Stags Head! a tent would be better.

Rude and surly staff. Felt like we were interupting their day. Rooms shabby and in need of decorating but clean. Breakfast was great first day but rubbish the second day. I wouldn't stay here again.

Did not stay at this hotel, stumbled across it when looking for food. The food is second to none, beautifully presented and very good sized portions. Can't comment on hotel but reviews about rowdy clientell and incompetent staff are rubbish don't listen to them.
