Had a lovely weekend at Nanny Brow beautiful room. The view was amazing out of our window, and the gardens are just beautiful to walk through. Breakfast was really nice. I would thorougjly recommend. All the staff were lovely too. In fact I didn't want to go home. I want to go and live at Nanny Brow.

We stayed two nights at Nanny Brow and could not recommend it more highly! The building is beautiful, the interiors homely and luxurious and the setting was amazing, even in the pouring rain. We stayed in the Langdale Suite and loved the huge windows and view, as well as the gorgeous bath. The whole place was spotless. Sue and the other staff looked after us extremely well. The breakfast was delicious. We had such a relaxing stay here and would love to visit again in the future.

Needing a relaxing and high quality weekend away for our 35th Wedding Anniversary we found the Nanny Brow online and liked it immediately. Sue the owner was really helpful and welcoming when contacted and remained so throughout our stay, particularly when we had a mix-up over a taxi booking and she took us into town herself — brilliant service! Our room was excellent as was the whole experience — beautifully (in every sense and application of the word) kept and presented with lovely touches such as an anniversary card waiting for us from the staff on our arrival. Thoroughly recommended! We'll be back when we can!

From the moment we stepped through the door, nothing was too much trouble for Sue and the team. Beautiful clean suite and comfy bed.

Everything here is wonderful from the scenery to the easy access to the hills and the river, service, food and not to mention the dogs and cat.

We had a fantastic stay in Nanny Brow. We stayed in the Whitwell suite which was very comfortable and beautifully furnished, and had great views of the Brathay Valley. The house itself is lovely and set in beautiful gardens. The breakfast was delicious and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Nanny Brow is well situated for walkers and there is a nice walk into Ambleside from the house. There are also plenty of great restaurants nearby and Sue, when we booked, very helpfully provided a list of recommended places to eat. This definitely was a luxurious experience.

Nanny Brow felt like a home from home, perfect for a weekend getaway. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The bathroom and shower was brilliant! I left my laptop at the hotel and I the owner was kindly able to meet me in London so I could get it back! Exceptional customer service. Thank you so much!

Very homely B&B. Not sure it's quite 5 star, but as close as a B&B in this price bracket can get in my opinion. Clean and comfortable, family run feel. Very nice all round.

We enjoyed our stay at Nanny Brow. We spent a week there, in the Wansfell Room, which we loved. The bed was sooo comfortable. Plenty of storage space in the walnut wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables. Spacious and warm ensuite, with its wonderfully efficient shower. This beautiful Arts and Crafts House is a joy to be in, especially the relaxing sittingroom with its original Arts and Crafts fireplace. Nanny Brow exudes comfort and efficiency under the leadership of owner Sue Robinson, supported by an excellent team. Delicious breakfasts and the surprise and delight of fresh homemade cake placed in one's room daily make this a very desirable place to stay. Friendly collie dogs Josh and Myffy add a homely feel. Add to all this, the fantastic location of this property with its commanding views and well-kept grounds, and you have a recipe for the perfect luxury B&B which well deserves the Awards it has received. We wish Nanny Brow continued success.

Wonderful Arts & Crafts house with stunning views. Comfortable, spacious, warm. Beautiful elegant sittingroom for guests' use. Two adorable and friendly collie dogs, Josh and Myffy, add a homely feel. Sue Robinson and staff welcoming and ultra efficient. Great attention to detail in the way the place is run. Fresh homemade cake placed in one's room daily, which was a lovely touch. Breakfasts excellent and served promptly. A very enjoyable week spent there. No ghastly muzak to be heard anywhere on site. All tastefully done. Very relaxing place to be.

Beautiful, secluded, spectacular views, friendly.

Staying at Nanny Brow was an amazing experience that I don't think I will forget in a hurry. The house is absolutely beautiful, and located in an incredible tucked away part of the lake district. I went for a few days with my partner after having the B&B recommended by a friend, and was thoroughly impressed by Sue and her staff. The rooms were stunning, and it is obvious a lot of time and effort has gone into creating this B&B. Breakfast was delicious, and I particularly enjoyed the cooked breakfast, compliments to the chef. With the extra touches that Sue put into our stay (like the fresh cake every day) I can't wait till we have another visit. Have already recommended it to a friend who has booked it for their honeymoon. Keep up the good work.

My wife and I checked in for a long weekend. After a long drive and rather later than expected arrival time we were met by Susan with a warm welcome and fresh home cooked cake in our room. The service from checkin to departure was amazing and I cannot recommend Nanny Brow enough. I am use to 5 star accommodation and Nanny Brow is 100% that.

Nanny Brow proves why it won best B&B in the U. K. If you're going to visit one of the most beautiful places in the world, the Lake District, then you must find a place which raises the bar to that standard. Nanny Brow's owner welcomes you from the time you arrive, the room is fantastic and the gorgeous views from the room is exactly what you'd require. I'm a sucker for a great breakfast but I didn't expect the individually made breakfast to be better than Grandma's cooking. If I could give Nanny Brow better than a 5 star rating it would be too low. Highly recommend!

Just returned from a long weekend to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary, and couldn't have picked a nicer place for our celebrations. Sue and her team helped my daughter (in the USA) when her present to us went astray so we thank you for that. We would love to stay here again next time we visit The Lakes. Spotlessly clean, gorgeous views across the fells, and a really lovely breakfast to start off the day. Thoroughly deserve their stars.

Room was spacious and well appointed, bathroom huge well equipped and spotless. Great views from our room and hotel only a few miles from Ambleside and all its amenities. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great too, all in all a great place to stay.

Lovely welcoming family run business. Catered to all our needs with real care and attention. Got a great view from our room with our own private access. 20 mins walk from all the restaurants and bars. Looking forward to returning in the future.

My wife and I stayed here 10 years previous. We have just spent our anniversary here again, and it is still the most beautiful, well placed, stylish, welcoming, comfortable and luxurious hotel that it was 10 years ago. Thank you.

Stayed in the skelwith room — it was faultless and beautiful. The food was excellent. Location was incredible. The service and welcome couldn't have been more lovely. Massively recommended.
