Ordered cocktails and tapas to takeaway service was excellent and food & drink was freshly prepared and lovely would highly recommend.

Tried the takeaway service last night and it was brilliant. Food was just as tasty and still really hot when we got home. Will definitely be trying it again and would recommend to anyone.

Just had the tapas takeaway. It was absolutely beautiful. Everything tasted amazing. Brilliant idea for the hotel and would highly recommend.

The room was excellent. The property is located in beautiful location. It's very scenic. The breakfast was nice. Staff were very friendly.

Great hotel, great food, great staff! The only downsides (for us) are: We much prefer South Lakes, not much to do in this area. Also the hotel is having a slight refurb inside & out, but will be even better after! Great views.

Fantastic restraunt! We didnt stay in the hotel but we used the restaurant. We came in on a Sunday and they had a selcetion of sunday roast dinners but if that was not what you wanted they also had a specials board. The meals were massive and absolutely delicious! Customer service was fantastic, very lovely waitresses who were so friendly and made my family feel so welcome. Would recommended 100% to anyone in the local area.

Beautiful rooms and good ensuite, bar is small but homely and the restaurant has some delicious dishes. It is beside a main road but there was little to no road noise from our room. It is a bit out of the way but everything is only a short drive away. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, me and my other half will be visiting again without a doubt!

Rooms were nice. Food ok only one menu on a Sunday which limits your choice I. E. Roast lunch or nothing. Hotel currently getting refurbished but no problems regarding that. They have a garage for putting your motorbike in very nice.

Only stayed here for the one night but from the moment we walked through the door we loved it. Very friendly and welcoming staff. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was absolutely amazing from dinner to breakfast. Plenty of parking spaces. Highly recommend staying here if you're in the area.

Great, well stocked bar with very friendly staff. Tasty food from a varied menu. Very comfortable, clean and modern room but with a slight drainage smell in the bathroom. It's a shame it's so close to the main road, although you can't hear it when the windows are shut. A car is essential.

Very impressed. Went for a family birthday in conservatory. Took advantage of two main meals for £15 between 5.30 and 6.30. I had steak pie which was good. Particularly liked the home made chips!

This is probably my 8th time eating at the Melbreak and the food again was spot on. Really nice place and friendly staff.

My wife and I enjoyed afternoon tea. Well recommended, couldn't eat it all so they supplied boxes. We'll be back again.

Been to a furnell today. The wake was at Melbreak. We were sat in the conservatory which was a beautiful room. Staff were very pleasant and kept asking if they could get you anything else. My husband and I will be returning for a meal in the nere future. The hotel was very clean and fresh. Very nice.

A nice hotel well placed a couple of miles outside Workington. The room was good, the restaurant food was lovely. Service was really friendly from checking in, the restaurant and bar. Would quite happily visit the hotel again.

Stayed here a number of nights during our stay in the UK, rooms were excellent, clean, comfortable & quiet. Staff was excellent, helpful and friendly. Meals were excellent (top grades to the chefs). We would stay here again without question.

The conservatory has had a wonderful refurbishment the staff could not more helpful. The food is served beautifully although the meat could be better. Not too expensive. Gerald Cox.

Me and a friend went here last week for supper, its was very clean and the food was very good and very hot, and reasonable price, will be back soon its that good. Well worth trying.

Went for lunch on a day out, a lovely meal in a beautiful setting. Easy to spot and plenty of parking! The staff are friendly and helpful which makes anywhere more pleasant. At the time of writing they offer 2 meals for £15 (at lunch) with a great selection of freshly prepared dishes. The desert menu isn't huge but the quality is fantastic! Highly recommended, especially considering it's only a short hop out of Cockermouth.

I stood there for 2 nights and the room was big, clean, comfortable and very quiet. The bathroom was really clean and brand new too. The breakfast was cooked on demand and really good. And the staff especially was really useful and friendly.

Got back yesterday from here — there was 11 of us from Friday to Sunday. It was amazing and we will definitely be coming back! We got there late on Friday evening about half 9 and the hotel had sandwiches ready for us as they knew we had traveled! They also sorted all our food out before hand and ordered in for us as majority of us ate Halal food. The service was amazing from Morning to Evening — I didnt catch his name but the gentleman that come in to work in the evening was very funny and kept us entertained! We felt very comfortable there and all the staff were amazing with us and our kids. Our rooms were so nice and the beds were very comfortable. The TV guide had probably the most channels I have ever seen in a hotel! Thank you for making our stay a lot easier and recommending places for us to go. We will definitely be back. Xx.

A great place! Staff were really nice, and were able to recommend things to do for the weekend. The owners were great to talk to. Our room had recently been renovated, it was warm without the heating and very comfortable. Unfortunately there was no view from our room, but you didn't have to go too far to see it. We only ate here for one night but the food was beautiful. The monkfish didn't quite fit with tomato pasta, but the flavours for both were great. The pork was was very tender and definitely good if you like blue cheese! Would definitely come back here if we were staying in this part of the Lakes.

Food is always excellent with specials and deserts that change regularly.

Go often at lunch time for fresh cooked food, a pleasure to wait for always piping hot, mmmmmmmm.

Hugely disappointed — food not appetizing (and topped off with a tureen of white chips). Over priced for very basic food, despite most expensive item on menu chosen. Ribeye steak. Sauce was cold. Restaurant virtually empty. Now know why.

Simple, friendly, well kept hotel. Staff were really helpful and accommodating. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Simple menu, but very well cooked.
