Great place to stay lovely and welcoming. Love dogs and the bar man was very accommodating you would think he had been there for years. Nothing is to much trouble for any of them even in a power cut we was so well looked after definitely stay again.

Fantastic weekend here for our Son & Daughter in laws wedding. Staff worked so hard to make sure everything was perfect. The food at the reception was so good. The breakfasts too. Couple of issues in the cottages re heating no hot water. But even those didn't spoil the weekend for everyone. X.

Beautiful place to stay. Very dog friendly, but beware if you have a pooch that is partial to chasing birds, there are geese, hens and peacocks strutting around.

Weddings — it was our wedding at the weekend and hands on heart, it could not have gone any better! The wedding coordinator, Tom, was brilliant, so knowledgeable and understanding and made our day completely stress free, even with all the covid restrictions! the food was amazing and perfect for our 30 people. They were fantastic with our other suppliers too. rooms — having a jacuzzi bath is a huge selling point and even on the morning of my wedding, it helped me relax before the chaos started. hotel grounds — so much space with a beautiful view of the fells over Eskdale valley. On a lovely summer day, it's so chilled to sit out on the lawn and enjoy a few drinks. the staff — every single member of the team at Irton were lovely. Nothing was too much trouble and they did everything with a smile on their face. thank you everyone at Irton Hall for the most memorable weekend of our lives! 👏👏👏

Great value and brilliant facilities for a family stay, Wedding or Corporate event.

Stayed here with a Friend last September and we loved it that much we stayed another night! Staff are absolutely brilliant, rooms were immaculate and breakfast was gorgeous.

Spent my husband’s 60th birthday here. Lovely place, family and dog friendly. Enjoyed it so much. We will be back.

Absolutely a hidden gem. The place is spotlessly clean, staff are polite and friendly without going over the top. The food is amazing! Definitely will go back and I recommend it.

Just returned from an excellent Christmas Day lunch, friendly, helpful staff and good food what more can you ask for.
If I was being critical the portions were just too big, but of course that a good fault.

What can I say, we were at Irton Hall for my daughter's wedding at the weekend, it was amazing, Tom and all his staff were fantastic from we arrived on the friday till Sunday, nothing was a problem for them, thank you's all so much.

Sunday lunch was exceptional value for a high quality meal in a beautiful setting served by lovely staff.

Stayed for 2 nights with my mum & my 2 grown up children for my best friends wedding. All staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. We only ate breakfast in the hotel but it was a good service and the food was lovely.

We went for Sunday dinner and it was delicious and very friendly staff.

Had a brilliant time room was lovely and spotless, bed was very comfortable food was excellent. Staff were very friendly and polite. Will be coming back next year, thank you for a lovely stay.

I stayed in one of the cottages which was lovely especially the views into the woods, felt like I was in a tree house. Staff were all very friendly and the food was amazing. Will definitely return.

In no particular order, the location, the birds free roaming, you can take a dog into the bar with dog treats provided. The rooms the food and the service are all fantastic. A really relaxed friendly place.

We spent the last two nights here as my fiancée's birthday treat. It was a terrific venue, so peaceful and a beautiful setting.
We ate in the first night and enjoyed delicious steaks, cooked to perfection.
Thereafter we relaxed in the bar and enjoyed beer, real ales, a selection of gins and a lovely choice of single malt whiskies.
Our room was clean and comfortable.
Staff were friendly and provided a first class service.
Breakfast each day was superb.
Over-all a fantastic experience.

Stayed in a private cottage within grounds. It's a beautiful area. Everything you need. Most places reached within an hour's drive. Would return again.

Popped in here for an afternoon tea at the weekend. You need to book in advance, but the staff are attentive, portions are very generous and the surroundings tranquil… all the ingredients for a perfect afternoon tea.

If you can handle the relative remoteness (or perhaps if you are seeking it) this is an absolute gem. We are about to visit for the third time having discovered Irton Hall initially through a unplanned overnight stay. Coming over the Fell road at sunset climbing into thunderous skies certainly adds to the atmosphere, and we felt as if we were en route to Dracula's Castle via the ends of the earth. The accommodation is first class and the staff friendly — Our first stay was in the hotel in a wonderful huge room with spa bathroom at a laughable cost. Subsequent visits have been to the Clockhouse on family holidays — dogs are welcome — which for us is a big bonus. Top Flight.

Friendly, chatty staff. Was only at the venue for a short period of time, but was made to feel welcome by all staff. Lovely open grounds surrounding it with good walks close by.

Lovely little Gem of a place.

Great place — Huge housing, includes TV, gaming console, piano, loads of beds, cool interior, good space Outside is cool too: there's chickens, peahens, sheep, dogs and even a PEACOCK!

Great venue, grand setting and a high quality hotel. Facilities are above the normal standard for the local b&b's. Have returned over several years and not been disappointed. 2 improvements: bigger tvs and better breakfast continental selection.

Absolutely love this place stunning grounds, friendly staff, gorgeous food, relaxing bar, large comfortable rooms, jacuzzi bath and best of all furbaby friendly. Can't wait for my next stay!.

An absolutely amazing location to stay at. The grounds are beautiful and the beds are incredibly large and comfortable. It has a unique feel and even for the shortest of stays, will be a memorable one. Nice English breakfast served for breakfast and an incredible drive through the district to get there.

As good as everyone says and better. We were that impressed with the room and breakfast that we extended the stay another two nights during our visit. The restaurant food is also 5 star and just what you need after a long day exploring, highly recommend the fillet steak!

Comfortable rooms, friendly service, extensive grounds and peacocks!

The room was large and the ceiling high. With one radiator switched off it made for a cold room. The vegetarian dish we had was bland and disappointing. Breakfast was very good though.

I can only conclude that the person who rated Irton Hall as 2* either had an agenda of didn't stay in the same hotel as I did recently. On arrival at the beautiful building we were warmly greeted by the receptionist. Our room was spacious and freshly decorated with a jacuzzi bath and separate shower. We ate in the restaurant and the food, including shin of beef, partridge and lamb were exceedingly well cooked. The butternut squash puree was a very tasty surprise. Next morning the breakfast was superb, lots of choice and the cooked items were of excellent quality and flavour. All in all I would highly recommend Irton Hall, just steer clear of Hardknott Pass if travelling from Windermere.

It was very well looked after, and the bathroom had a jacuzzi bath. And the beds were comfy, apart from one of them as one was a bit hard considering it was a sofa bed but overall it was great.

Had an excellent stay, the room was stunning and the grounds are perfectly kept. The on site pub/restaurant was excellent and the staff are really friendly and helpful.

Booked as a last minute get away with a fabulous offer online for one night. Definitely worth every penny. It feels like a fairytale castle, the views are breathtaking, the rooms were immaculate, the jacuzzi bath was by far the best. And to top it all off you can bring your dog! Would highly recommend to anyone, it's remote location is perfect for anyone who wants a relaxing weekend away. And finally a massive thank you to the staff who made us feel very welcome, 10/10 service! Will definitely be back. :)

Absolutely fantastic, the building it's self and where it is situated is really nice, the rooms and staff where brilliant, food was OK and reasonably priced, will definitely visit again in the future and would recommend it to anybody.

Lovely staff, great rooms, great tasty breakfast, beautiful location! The only reason for 4 starts and not 5 stars is due to some relatively minor things that took the shine off a bit.
