Fantastic roast dinners lovely and fresh and desserts were great. Staff are lovely excellent service.

Lovely meal best scampi I've had, husband had fish he said batter was light and crispy, homemade chips were perfect.

6 of us visited for Sunday lunch today without a booking but the helpful staff found room for us no problem. Staff are always really friendly and today was no different. Food was tasty and loads of it! Looking forward to our next visit.

We stayed up the road in a holiday cottage for a friends 40th and came down Clarkes for Sunday lunch. Wow. The food was delicious, staff were friendly and attentive and the prices really good. Highly recommend!

6 of us just visited for Sunday Roast. Lovely, well cooked food served in generous portions. Prompt service and felt it was fairly good value for money. Would certainly recommend.

Visited for Sunday dinner. We all had different meats. Was the best roast we have had out in ages. Staff really friendly and attentive. Nothing too much for them. As soon as we left my daughter was asking when we can go back. Sure it wont be that long. X.

Last evening sunday 17/06/18 we tried the food here, the sunday roast we all had starters they were enjoyed by all who had them, then you had a choice of chicken roast lamb or beef the food was excellent fresh veg piping hot, next was the desserts all I can say is amazing choice and amazing to eat no compliants from any of us. The staff are very helpful and friendly nothing was to much trouble, the atmosphere in here is lovely to, made to feel very welcome. Highly recommend their was 9 of us. 10/10 from us thankyou.

Seriously quirky and fantastical place. A little like Fawlty Towers but with a genuine and warm welcome. The staff are amazing. On our second morning the night cleaner cooked our breakfast because the regular staff didn't show up. The morning before the night staff chap said it was manic. It was two of us and one chap finishing his breakfast. The decor is dated but clean. The village is quiet and the overnight experience was quiet and reasonably comfortable.

Good facilities, nice room. All the staff very helpful. We stayed for two nights and had an evening meal both nights, the food was excellent.

A warm welcoming place. Kind helpful staff. Stayed in room 2 which was large and comfortable with uninterrupted views over the bay. Will return without a doubt. Thank you.

We booked the Clarke's Hotel for a birthday/retirement party. The organising and booking of the venue was simple. The staff on the evening were great and always happy to help. Parking available at the hotel with a dozen or so spaces. Members of our family had booked a 2 night stay but were unable to make it on the first night due to the snow and were not charged. Great venue and great atmosphere.

Me and my partner won 2 nites stay with buy a gift 16.2.18 17.2.18 got here mid afternoon on Fri lovely hotel friendly staff shame it's in the middle of nowhere a car is essential as we went up to Windermere 2day saturday 1hrs drive away just had a lovely candle lit meal in the hotel food was amazing I would recommend it and we was able to upgrade the room as well very helpful.

Fantastic stay at the hotel. The room was clean, spacious and had every amenity we required. The bathroom had a bath / shower combo which worked perfectly. The staff we met were very helpful. We also had our evening meal there which was fantastic with a huge portion.

A point to note: dinner on Sunday is only served until 8pm — we missed this so were forced to drive to Barrow In Furness for dinner. The breakfast is fantastic, and highly worth the journey!

Perfect cold fresh beer served by the most hospitable Rachael on a warm summer's evening.

Reception manned by 'a mate' who had no idea what to do, he apologised and got assistance by phone but still not convinced we got the upgrade we booked. Room was in need of decoration but clean. Sea view was through a high window so only seen when stood at window. Breakfast was out of marmalade, ran out of bacon etc.

The location is beautiful, by the seaside and you can see all across the bay when it's clear. I shared a room with two other people, and we got a double and a single which worked well for us. It was clean and spacious, and the bathroom had a nice bath with good water pressure. The service was excellent, and all the staff incl the owner are very friendly.

Rooms could do with sprucing up, but the service and food was lovely. Great views too.
