Just a little review to say how lovely this place is!
The staff were so friendly and very welcoming, our room was immaculate and the bed was super comfy! I couldn’t fault the food, our evening meal and breakfast were spot on.
100% Recommend!

We had our first meal there after lockdown. We were a bit apprehensive about going to a pub but we were very surprised.
We were greeted at the door with a warm welcome, used the sanitizer available and got shown to our table.
The tables were placed 2 metres apart from the next one and we felt very safe.
The staff were very helpful and made us feel safe explaining the one way system in place and the no bar service.
The toilet system was great too as they have put a sign on the door that you turn when it is occupied so only one person in the bathroom at one time.
The food has definitely improved and I have to say it was the best meal I've had there yet.
Looking forward to our next visit.

We just had a lovely 4 day break at the kings arms, 100% recommend this fab place, very helpful friendly staff, beautiful yummy food, nice clean spacious quiet room and central located for sightseeing in this stunning area, 5* we will return!

The lovely welcome. The comfortable rooms and beds. The locals in the bar and the gargantuan portions and prices of the great food in both the bar and restaurant. The breakfasts are brilliant.

Bit pricey. Food can be great, or just average. Depends on which chef is on. Just down the road for us, but we usually go furthur afeild.

We arrived on Sunday and were warmly welcomed by the Chef who went out of his way to find someone to help us. We knew then it was going to be a good stay. "Becca" introduced herself and went through things quickly and efficiently before taking us to our room. The room was large and spacious, as was the bathroom. Both were well furnished and impeccably clean. We went down to the bar and again were made exceptionally welcome. The beer and wine were both well kept and very tasty. The food on both nights was very well cooked and presented and absolutely delicious. We would most definitely recommend this place and we will be back very soon.

Very comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. My friend had her Labrador and they obviously liked dogs and catered to her needs. Lovely old Pub and the bar had some atmosphere. The food was good.

Delicious food, wine and beer. Lovely quiet country pub with friendly locals. Our room had everything we wanted for a relaxing couple of days away, we will be back ☺

Great hotel, really friendly staff, great food and best of all have their own fishing beat on the River Eden!

This is a lovely little inn with friendly, welcoming staff. Only 8 or 9 rooms, clean and comfortable with lovely thick towels. Great food too, breakfast is included and there is a good choice on the dinner and dessert menu.

Poorly kept real ale (choice usually just one! ). Hit and miss on that front to say the least. It's either going off or cloudy or both. Excellent range of malts. Nice staff though! Great locals pub for banter and welcoming to tourists. Good walks nearby and fine views of the fells inc licenced fishing on the Eden. A beautiful building in a desirable village in much need of considerate investment on many levels to truly fulfill it's potential as a landmark rural pub.

Lovely atmosphere for family dining and wonderful food. Highly recommend. Will definitely go again.

Had two lovely nights here and wasn't disappointed. From arriving with a very warm welcome from Rebecca. The bed was super comfy and the towels big and fluffy.
We were spoilt for choice with their very extensive and interesting menu. Steak and ale pie with hand-cut chips and fresh vegetables was to die for and the following evening my Lamb Tagline and my husband's Thai Curry equally as good.
Oh and great real ales as well… cheers all at the King's Arm's.

Decor very dated, beer selection not great, but food was decent and reasonably priced.

Lovely staff, delicious food and a very nice fishing area. Recommended for every fisherman trying to conquer the famous river Eden, aswell as families visiting nearby castles and mountains :)

Friendly staff, lovely food, great value accommodation and best of all exclusive fly fishing on their private beat on the river Eden.

We are a 60 year old couple and booked into this pub for a 1 night stay with another couple of similar age the bar area was tired with ripped furnishings so we sat outside on basic picnic benches. Lunch was good and we booked for an evening meal the bar staff was shouting at a local who was sat at the bar we went to our room and although big the wardrobe was half and half drawers so dress was scrunched. We went down for our meal one of our party ordered rib eye steak it came peppered which he cannot have what happened next was nothing short of bizarre as he informed the staff of the meal and requested an unpeppered steak he was refused so he asked for a different meal which he got, this meal was not cheap however I confirmed we were perfectly happy with ours the waitress showed nothing but annoyance to our friends as he stated quite calmly he was not happy. The next we knew was the owner stomping in saying if we didn't leave the restaurant he would have us evicted we stated that we had paid to stay over to which he said well we will not serve you in the bar altogether we had spent over £200 at this establishment and it was only 9.30pm. Will we ever return not a chance this hotel does not know what the word hospitality means.

Had such a great time. Very accommodating for us and our 5 month old. The food was excellent, large portions and a menu to suit everyone. The room was lovely and clean and well maintained. The bar was nice and the locals welcoming and friendly. Couldn't rate it any higher will be staying again.

Just arrived home from a 2 night stay with our dog at this fabulous establishment,, management and staff were top notch, food and drink were superb, and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
could not have asked for any more, recommend to anyone.

Lovely pub, really pleasant friendly staff and the food was lovely. I had a chicken pizza and wasnt expecting anything special but it was easily the quality of one you'd expect in an Italian Restaurant. Brilliant. Would come here again if I lived near enough.
