Stayed here last minute yesterday — all I can say is what a lovely hidden gem 💎Sunday Lunch was amazing, staff all friendly & professional, and the hotel was so busy yesterday, special shout out to Steph receptionist, waitress, trouble shooter …. She looked after us 200% yesterday so helpful and just got on with her whole day. Rooms lovely — bed really comfy & breakfast just as good this morning — well worth a visit 💗💗

Had the steak deal last night and have to say it was excellent, cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. Great value for money, could not fault the service either… will definitely be back for more.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at this hotel. We enjoyed a delicious evening meal & an equally delicious breakfast. Our room was perfect & the staff were incredible, attentive & very sociable. We will definitely return in the future.

Touring on Motorbikes and did a stopover here. Thoroughly recommend it, super friendly helpful staff. Food excellent and rooms spacious. Great location for bikers and tourists alike.

Stay overnight soon was lovely, the bed nice and comfortable. The price was worth it would definitely recommend and be back again. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

Had the most tasty steak pie here, then returned another night. And had the chicken parmo… WOW! Everything is just so tasty and the staff were most delightful.

Lovely pub/hotel fabulous food nice clean & friendly staff we had lunch here & enjoyed it that much that we travelled over a hour / half the following day to enjoy a evening meal. We would have given it a 5 star but we didn't stay in the hotel.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch at the Three Horseshoes a month ago the food was delicious and the plates were full to bursting. We travelled back here recently for an evening meal and again the food was delicious but the portions were dreadful, everyone in our group went home hungry. It was such a shame as the staff and the atmosphere there is fabulous. I would not return for an evening meal again as this was not value for money.

Nice place. Well run. Excellent beer — the Wainwright's bitter is the best pint I've had for a long time. The food is also excellent. The prices are quite reasonable and the staff accommodating and friendly. We had a bit of a wait for the food because a large party had arrived just before us. But the wait wad worth it. Highly recommended.

I visited the Three Horseshoes yesterday roughly 20 years after my last visit and couldn't believe how it's changed. I had the best Ribeye I've had for quite some time, for too long now in other restaurants I've asked for it to be cooked medium only for it to come out like leather, not this one though it was pretty much perfect for my taste. The pub itself very clean and staff very helpful and friendly despite being very busy.

Absolutely beautiful place lovely staff delicious meals and we're shown some of the rooms for a future stay which is a must. 1st I've been here and will definitely be returning to stay a night or 2 in the future. Everything fresh and clean and nothing was too much bother for the staff definitely 5* rating x.

Clean, great beer, great food, friendly and efficient staff, we’ll be back! One of the best Hotels I’ve ever stayed in, and as a touring Musician I have stayed at a lot, Breakfast finished of nicely what has been a very pleasant stay! I highly recommend this Lovely place to stay.

A very popular local pub with pleasant staff, a constantly changing range of guest beers and good food. I can't fault it at all.

We had lunch here today. Not for the first time. I had the fish cakes as a starter then had the fish finger sandwich. My better half had the fish and chips. Now both of us are difficult to please when eating out and lately we have had so much disappointment with service, quality and cost. Today we were treated to some top notch food which didn't require a second mortgage. The food, quite simply was exceptional and we will be returning to see them again. Thanks for the meal and staying true to using great ingredients and not ripping off your customers like many are doing. We'll done xxx.

My wife and I thought we would treat ourselves to Sunday lunch as it was my Birthday,
I had the roast beef dinner and my wife the chicken on arrival our meals were lukewarm and no staff around to complain too to compensate this we decided to have a nice dessert I ordered the chocolate brownie sundae when it arrived it had raspberries in it which I cannot stand but no mention of this on the menu, so we left feeling that we had wasted our time and had no enjoyment from our meal, I won’t be going back…

Fairly typical market town pub slash hotel which serves food (only until 3pm on a Sunday). Lots of seating, some outside. Prices very competitive and a good range of beer. Food very predictable, Roasts etc. No football screens for a change and lots of tables to eat at. Very much the sort of place you would go with your family. Just a little on the bland side in terms of decor and the whole experience. Harvester-esque.

Restaurant has good food, friendly staff, and is in an easily accessible location Barnard castle.

A quality place to stay ideally located in the heart of Barnard Castle, very good food and a very busy bar. Accomodation is first class.

Came here for some lunch on a visit to Barnard Castle. The staff were really friendly, offering helpful suggestions regarding local attractions, and the food was absolutely delicious. The steak and ale pie was wonderful, the beef was completely fat free and the glazed carrots were a lovely surprise. Thoroughly recommended if you’re in the area and fancy a reasonably priced bit of lunch!

Very nice little hotel. Good high Standard with the typical "english Breakfast. " We were very friendly — the Service was excellent. Unfortunately, we could not test the Restaurant in the House — Sunday it is closed.

Food was delicious very good value for money the interior decoration was a bit modern and tasteless for my liking however everything else was superb.

I was with my 8 yr old daughter. The kids meals were very reasonably priced at 4.50 each, the usual selection offered: chicken goujons, fish, burger etc. She chose the chicken and the portion was good but the batter tasted of fish. Obviously all cooked in the same oil, but chicken tasting of fish is not great! I ordered scampi at 10.95. It was totally tasteless. I ordered it with chips and received wedges. Usually I would inform the waitress but I didn't want to eat separately to my daughter. Nobody asked me if the meal was okay, had they, I would have shared my feedback with them, I don't think they cared! One of the waitresses was very friendly, the rest couldn't be bothered! A disappointing meal on our holidays… a shame because the environment was nice. We don't be back.

We arrived ridiculously late in the night/early morning but we rang the number advised and someone came to let us in and show us to our room he was friendly and warm even though we had woken him up which was lovely and we (my partner and i) really appreciated. The room was big and very clean. You could tell it had been freshly refurbed and looked out onto the main road which was nice. Bathroom was large and smelt lovely, towels and hotel shower gel, conditioner etc was nicely displayed. Breakfast was great too, served by a pretty woman with golden blonde hair and a bright smile. Option of breakfast was just enough and kept me and my partner fed well for the day. Over all really appreciated it.

Four of us pop in for an early evening meal. We were seated quickly in the bar area as the restaurant was full. The place has a pleasant atmosphere with a slightly older customer base. Service was quick and efficient. Food and drink both very good. Although no idea what starters or desserts were like. Would happily go again when in the area.

We stayed with two other couples, our rooms were lovely, clean, fresh and comfy. I would recommend requesting a room at the back if you retire early, but we are already planning our next visit. Breakfast was hearty and tasty. The staff were extremely helpful and kind.

Seems to be have been freshly refurbished. Good atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks. Good position to go and see rest of Barnard Castle if you stayed there.

Had a wonderful fillet steak here, food and drink was amazing! only draw back I found the staff were average.

I stayed at this hotel 17th September. Very friendly reception staff quick to be shown roon number 7. the room was so clean and modern big shower and not a thing out of place-well done to the cleaning team. we booked a meal for 4, well I had prawns for starter and steak pie for my main course, one of the best meals I have had in a very long time. My husband had curry which he said was amazing and my brother in law and wife had sausage the food is amazing and the breakfast this morning was really lovely juice cereal toast jams and full English. Well done to the chef 10/10 we drank in this hotel was lovely, but we made the mistake of going across the road to two local pubs which was cricketers arms and the coach and horses, where the people standing at both bars men and women just swore every other word, not a good impression. will definitely stay again at the three horseshoes hotel, clean modern friendly food amazing and simply the best well done to all of the team at this hotel cant wait to book again soon.
