Wouldn’t recommend for afternoon tea, dry sandwiches, rock hard scones, very disappointing as this was a belated Mother’s Day treat (it must of been left from mothers day)

We stayed in the Aquila room and loved everything about it. I must say the host is a lovely lady, very helpful and accommodating. The room itself is lovely & spacious. The outdoor area is perfect, the hot tub and entire outdoor area isn't overlooked at all so you can relax in total peace. The small details make it so personal, from the petals and towel art, birthday banners, to the complimentary bottle of bubbles. There's an ice bucket, robes, slippers, all the little things, they make a difference. They have a fridge on the upper floor with extra milk, sugar, coffee, tea varieties and bottled water. Honestly they are very thoughtful in every aspect! Breakfast was lovely, delivered to your room at the exact time you request. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely night away 😀

We highly recommend staying here. We were made to feel incredibly welcome. I was here on business so finding the right accommodation was important. Relaxed atmosphere. Our Room was perfect. Warm and inviting. The manager couldn't do more for us. Our meal was so tasty and breakfast was just right. We will be back to stay longer.

We stayed in the Aquila room last night and it was amazing! The room is beautiful and sparkling clean the hot tub is amazing and the breakfast so tasty. The service is second to none and the lovely lady who looked after us was just lovely and couldn’t be more helpful. We’re going to book again for next month for sure x really enjoyed it x thank you x.

I organised to have my dads 60th birthday surprise meal here on saturday, I booked a couple weeks in advance as there was 20+ guests. They were more than happy to accommodate us and the menu choices we made, they went above & beyond for us that night & the food/service & room that we were given was absolutely outstanding! Nothing at all was too much trouble! any large future bookings we have in the family will be booked here every time! 10/10 🙌🏼 Thank you so much to Estha & Her team!

The food is unreal, I have to eat gluten free and they bend over backwards to accommodate. Some of the nicest food i’ve eaten while dining out. The staff are great but if you get Clarke as a waiter you’ve hit the jackpot, he is such a genuinely nice lad. He’s so cautious with me needing gluten free and is a credit to the company. I recommend here to anyone!

Amazing night for my other half’s birthday everything was perfect the room, hot tub and food and the service couldn’t fault anything deffo one of my favourite places av stayed and will definitely be back 💖

Been here 4 times now in 2 years, fantastic hospitality, the manager is excellent, she goes above and beyond to make your stay great. would definitely recommend, food is gorgeous as well, weather it's a simple pizza or the more extravigant fillet steak, very nice indeed.

My partner and I stayed in the Phoenix Suite last. What an amazing room. From the decor to the bottle of fizz and most importantly the double spa bath! The staff were amazing really friendly and helpful. And Esther just goes above and beyond! We were that wowed that we are now in the process of booking our Wedding here. Visited today for a family celebration. Staff were lovely and welcoming, we were seated in the garden room which was a nice surprise. The food was superb and staff were very attentive. Thank you so much for making my lovely Dads birthday so special.

Stayed in the Aguila room absolutely beautiful hot tub was amazing sun loungers on the terrace area breakfast was first class ester has been a diamond from booking to leaving nothing to much so friendly complimentary drinks in the fridge everything was 👌🏻definitely be back again x.

5star service, meals were absolutely lovely, cooked to perfection. The potato skins are to die for, the lamb just melted in my mouth and strawberry cheesecake with cream, just lush. Highly recommend to everyone. Very polite and helpful staff, can't fault it at all.

Absolutely beautiful takeaway Sunday lunch. Brought to your car, very Covid safe. Beautiful lunch, very generous portions and all very fresh. We would highly recommend and will be ordering again very soon.

Absolutely chilled time just what we both needed after the year of disappointment our wedding postponed twice now rebooked for July 2021. This is a perfect get away to have some normal time and to stay here was just brilliant. Esther was very accommodating and our room the Aquila with hot tub was just perfect.

What can I say absolutely fantastic I booked a meal in March for my husbands 40th (11/10/20) so I was so worried it wouldn’t be able to go ahead. But we went last night and the food, safety measures and staff (especially Claire who was serving us) was fantastic. We couldn’t fault it at all everyone really enjoyed it.
Thankyou so much look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Absolutely stunning place we stayed for our 6th wedding anniversary, room was beautiful and immaculate staff are amazing so helpful nothing is to much trouble food is beautifully presented and very high quality produce would highly recommend Thomas Wright house to everyone thank you all for an amazing stay 5

Absolutely beautiful place to stay, we came last night for my husband 30th and it’s one of the best hot tub places we have stayed. Thank you and we felt so safe and everything was spotless.

Lovely decorated rooms and a really nice atmosphere. Lots of COVID-19 precautions in place which was very reassuring. Food was great! Definitely will be back again! Thank you.

Brilliant stay we stayed in Aquila room with hottube and Pegasus both rooms fantastic and clean to high standard Esther was loverly and friendly nothing was a problem and breakfast was outstanding will recommend a stay here to anyone we will be back to stay.

Just had lunch with friends Meal was gorgeous and well made, obviously home made We had two pasta dishes and steak pie Desserts were again home made and delicious Staff attentive but not overly so which made the dining experience really good 5 stars from us all ❤❤❤❤❤

I had an evening meal here last night while renting a cottage. The surroundings were lovely, the food was absolutely beautiful and Esther was so friendly and welcoming. 100% recommend visiting here.

I absolutely love this place the staff are amazing the food is the best I've ever had and the hotel and cottages are stunning I absolutely adore this place. The owner and all the staff make you feel so welcome and always look after you. This is my favourite place to come to stay and eat absolutely to die for!

A lovely warm welcome from Esther, stayed in the hot tub room, clean beautiful and completely private, a complimentary bottle of Prosecco for the birthday girl, followed by amazing food, breakfast too was gorgeous and the staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful, thank you soo much for a lovely evening x.

A hidden gem the afternoon tea we had was well above average and great service we saw the food coming out to other guests from main menu and we will be back it looked and smelled delicious.

Booked the dorado room for sons 21st birthday. The room was absolutely gorgeous. And the staff were all lovely and our waitress was really lovely and nothing was any trouble. Even when the kids were being noisey lol. And the food was really nice as well. Would definitely recommend Thomas Wright House to people. Thankyou for a great night we really enjoyed it xx.

A massive thank you to all the staff at Thomas Wright House, we stayed here last night in the Aquila room as a surprise for my boyfriends 30th and it’s was absolutely amazing! The room was spotless, staff were brilliant, hot tub was fantastic, and the room service breakfast this morning was unbelievable not to mention the complimentary bottle of prosecco from the owner as a birthday gift! Thank you very much for making my surprise possible, will definitely be back! x.

Just back from a family meal, the service and quality of food were 5*, such a friendly, warm atmosphere, I highly recommend you … "EAT HERE"! We will definitely be returning … Thankyou x.

Just been here for a 3 course meal with my partner to celebrate, the food was amazing. Very tasty, nicely presented and reasonably priced. Staff very polite and attentive. The only downfall it was really busy when we went and it was quite loud but it didn't spoil my meal and I'll definitely be back.

I regret saying this but the food here is brilliant the staff are very good and the lady that owns the place is lovely. Now the place will be so busy I won't be able to get a table. This really is the best place in the area.

Really friendly atmosphere — not good vegan options or dairy free as quorn has eggs and milk in and they use butter in their nut roast? They were very accommodating and said they will we make it for me but the portion was really small, hardly any green veg and the wait was long! It meant I needed to order bread as I was starving — I wouldn't go back again for food they can definitely improve on better vegan/veggie options. Fail safe if you want fish and chips and burgers though. Staff are very welcoming and helpful could easily be a 5/5

Stayed in the Aquila room last night for our wedding anniversary.
We were greeted with a friendly smile and welcomed by the lovely Ester. Who even offered us some fresh milk for the fridge!
Room service food was just spectacular and again, the lovely staff were just fantastic.
The room was beautiful, clean and just perfect for me, my husband and our baby. The hot tub is totally your own and no one can see you, it is a great touch to a lovely room.
Our daughter was very sick in the night (just a bug, nothing to do with the hotel) but the staff again were brilliant, getting us more towels and asking if there is anything else they can do.
Breakfast room service was fantastic. The staff, lovely, and the food just gorgeous.
Can’t wait to stay again! xxx.

I have never been to a place like it, the staff are absolutely amazing, the service is amazing, everything about this place is a experience in itself. It’s a must! Stopped here in the Aquila suite and it was beautiful. The room was perfect and the added extras of breakfast brought to the room, robes and slippers. The hot tub was amazing! We had a meal in the restraunt which I must say the food was beautiful. Staff were very helpful and friendly will defiantly return and recommend to others! Thank you for a lovely getaway!

Had a superb meal tonight with my girlfriend. Staff very helpful… fast without making you feel hurried at all… these people have it sorted 100%. This was my first visit, it certainly won't be my last. Price was very competitive considering the quality of the food and the amount you get. The atmosphere was spot on, you could tell each and everyone of the diners were enjoying the experience as much as myself and girlfriend.

Totally 5*… food absolutely delicious, staff so welcoming and friendly, brilliant night out.

We had the hot tub room for hubbys birthday! It was a lovely room and the food is gorgeous, The staff were so nice too! And the place is so clean, we would recommend it to eny one. We will definitely be back xX.

Quite a small restaurant but you didn't feel cramped when seated. Staff were very helpful and chatty. Food was lovely.

A great discovery. We were going to support our daughter in the Great North Run and the runner and non runners stayed here the night before. We had a warm welcome and a beautiful evening meal and although we needed a very early breakfast this was not a problem for the very pleasant staff. We hope to return for a bit longer next time.

Nice little hidden place. Trendy so spendy. The staff were fabulous and the food was presented amazingly and was much more fancy then expected. The taste of everything was very nice. I would recommend to anyone but make sure you book in advance.

Delicious food, pleasant and friendly service and lovely decor. Cute little teapots! The visit inspired me to research more about Thomas Wright, who, I discovered, was an interesting local character with important historical significance in 1700s.   A very good meal in a relaxing atmosphere.
