My oh my goodness how would you describe this it's not just a place its an experience, an emotions and a long lived fond memory. Outstanding, historical, beautiful, overpowering, incredible all these words together and cannot begin to describe this castle and surrounding countryside. The place is a fantasy castle out of J. R. R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings Middle Earth universe. Back to reality the staff were extremely helpful and friendly plus the food was excellent and great service from the restaurant staff. We stayed for one night at the beginning of June and stayed in the Tower room word of warning many steps lead to this room. The surrounding grounds are well worth a visit and look out for the male Peacocks biggest bunch of "dandy's" I have ever met.

Beautiful castle, restored to near perfect. Food superb, catering for meat eaters and vegetarians in the party. Staff very helpful and professional. Really enjoyed the tour at 1015 hrs, provided by the young man who is very proud of his history and area. Very rare these days.

Incredible service for the cost, they really try their best to pamper you. The food is wonderful and delicious. The area is an actual castle and it still feel like it, even with all the modernization. The rooms are comfortable with tea, coffee and water complimentary. The bath room has a shower and bathtub combined. My only suggesting is to bring something to put on your ears, as the peacocks can get loud though the night.

Absolutely beautiful building and amazing staff. I've literally never received customer service as good as I have at this place. The way they look after you is unreal. I've been on tow occasions now and we will definitely go back again.

Fabulous for a special occasion. We booked a room with a double air bath for an anniversary, and returned for another celebration. Rooms enormous and excellent combination of period features with modern comforts. Multiple dining options on site, a lovely public drawing room with open wood fire. Some rooms even have limited disabled access via an assisted goods lift, just dial reception from the room and they'll take you up and down. Attentive without being pushy, staff have a genuine enthusiasm for the place.

Very lavish hotel, beautiful room. Scenery is amazing, room that we stayed in had a very large bath with a bubble machine. Very pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Lovely fully cooked breakfast. Rooms have tea and coffee, TV, water bottle included.

I am a wedding hairdresser and was there for the 1st time to do the bridal party's hair. What a beautiful castle. The room was truly lovely. Excellent venue to have a wedding, very intimate settings.

We had a fantastic stay at this awesome castle — the rooms are spacious and very well appointed with nice toiletries and modern bathrooms. Very comfortable with seating area and good sized bed. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Very dog friendly, and they went out of their way for us to make our stay special. Gorgeous grounds with peacocks and bunnies and such an impressive structure too. Food was tasty and plentiful. This is worth the cost — terrific value for money.

Wonderful atmosphere. The sample menu needs to be changed. Need deep pockets ie lots of money. Better to phone before booking to check accuracy of booking sites.

Visited for a friend's wedding. Staff were extremely helpful despite being busy as we needed to use the lift and there's only one service lift available to use through the kitchens.

Lovely setting for a romantic quiet get away. Rooms were the right setting to soak up the castle and grounds. If you want something different then this is the place.

Amazing place to stay. Management Bar/restaurant staff and domestics all professional in their field. We visit twice a year to relax and visit local areas. Food and Drinks I give 100% as well as the Castle itself steeped in history it's a must visit. You can also visit for afternoon tea ☕.

The hotel room we stayed in was ok but not how I would describe as luxury. It needed a lot of updating. However, the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was tasty and well presented. In just think the standards are somewhat lower than the prices they charge.

Amazing hotel, with brilliant rooms. A well stocked bar with very accommodating staff. I would recommend this place for any social event like a wedding or whatever. The hotel itself is an amazingly well restored castle that looks amazing!

Attended a wedding here, absolutely lovely place and the room was fantastic. Really enjoyed the tour of the battlements that is available in the mornings. We were lucky enough to see the castle when it snowed and it is stunning.

Just had an overnight stay in the castle view room, great staff and service, room was very cosy, the food was really nice, would definately go back.

Attending a wedding reception. Fantastic location, lovely room, decorated fittingly for a wedding. Drinks surprisingly priced well, a good range of drinks, although no real ale on draft. Toilets and public areas clean and well maintained. Staff friendly and courteous.

Attended a wedding reception. The castle is beautiful from the outside, with a fountain and decorated to a high standard inside. The reception staff were very friendly and directed our group as soon as we came in. The party was in a top room so there were a lot of stairs, but there was a lounge halfway up if you struggle. The room had stone walls and a very game of thrones look to it.

Great place, fantastic food, helpful staff. Plus I've just booked my wedding venue here. Can't wait for the big day now.

Langley castle is stunning. It is a real castle. The rooms are beautiful, the foods is 5 star, the staff is remarkable, well worth the price. You will truly enjoy relaxing in the Drawing room with your favorite cocktail. The peacocks that roam the ground are very friendly and love tea bisquits. Lol.

Had a most amazing meal at Langley castle. Staff were very professional and the experience was worth every penny. Definitely come back.

Amazing place, not just the building but the staff, we were very well looked after. The o my down side was we received a complaint from the neighbours for having the TV too loud, but it was a movie with gunfire and the TV sound quality was a bit poor so we had to turn it up to hear the voices. I think the rooms must be partitioned off with plasterboard and not soundproofed very well, but it is a castle after all, so I don't expect much else so I won't deduct points for that. We had an excellent weekend.

My wife and I were married at Langley Castle on New Year's Eve 2016. We and our guests had exclusive use of the venue all afternoon and evening. It was a wonderful experience and will live long in our memories. From start to finish the Langley staff could not have been more helpful. Whether it be for food or accommodation and certainly for weddings we highly recommend Langley Castle.

Stunning setting, the Castle View rooms are spacious and have a great view of the castle as well as being home to 2 peacocks and a pea hen. Service was as excellent as you would expect.

I attended a wedding on the 29th of July and also stayed overnight. The staff were professional and the wedding function ran on time. The area around the castle is very easy on the eye and has a calming vibe to it. The peacocks are a bit noisy in the early morning. But it's a small price to pay. We had breakfast the next morning and I was pleasantly surprised at the choice.

Absolutely stunning place. The staff are super friendly, very knowledgeable and helpful. We stayed in the De Lucy which was amazing. Really comfy bed. The other half loved it, so worth every penny. The rooms have the full sky package (except sports) and free Wi-Fi throughout the castle, although I found it strongest on the ground floor. The food and dining is amazing. We opted not to go for the fine dining menu, however the standard menu is still up to fantastic standards and the service is great. The castle is also about 10-15 minutes from one of the Hardrians wall sites if that interests you. Would recommend to anyone.

Just got back from an overnight stay here and thoroughly enjoyed every bit. Luxurious room, fantastic food and staff are very friendly and welcoming. The castle us amazing and battlement tour on a morning is interesting. Would definitely recommend anyone stay here.

Attended a family friends wedding here. Beautiful setting, staff were amazing and professional. Food was great. Only downside accessibility is slightly lacking, of course it's a castle and they don't and can't modify to much but for people with mobility issues like some of the family it was difficult to climb the little stairs to where the reception was being held.

My family and I went to Langley Castle for the Christmas Banquet. Our expectations outweighed the outcome. We were taken first of all to the hall with a huge Christmas Tree and a roaring fire. We had mulled wine in front of the fire and it was all lovely. Then we moved on to the Dining Room. The meal was a lovely, well cooked three-course meal, but it was far from a banquet. And we were the only people there. The dining room was otherwise completely empty. And I think it was that, rather than the lack of the sumptuous feast we had expected, that really spoiled the day that we had planned for for more than six months. It is a lovely place with great atmosphere. Just don't expect a "Banquet" at Christmastime.

Beautiful and atmospheric castle (especially with snow falling) with great food. The room had a fantastic window seat in an alcove as well as a sumptuous four poster bed.

Stayed in the De Lucy castle room overnight having paid for an upgrade on a Groupon voucher. Lovely castle and grounds with plenty of parking available in front of the castle. The room was fairly well maintained (few small issues such as loose faceplate on bathroom shower) but very clean and extremely impressive window seat area plus four poster bed. High quality complementary toiletries with bath robe and slippers available. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful, room service good with free ice bucket and ice brought to room for our champagne. Fantastic Northumbrian breakfast cooked to perfection and informative and interesting battlements tour. Great experience in this wonderfully romantic building/setting with superb service.

We had a wonderful experience staying at Langley Castle on New Years Eve. The Castle put on an exceptional evening starting with champagne cocktails on arrival followed by a seven course meal which was amazing. A fantastic menu catering for many! The wine list was very accommodating to many tastes as was the champagne. This was made all the more special by the ambience created with a duo singing and interacting with guests which was fantastic! Finished off with a marvellous resident DJ playing everyones requests. Complements must go to the management and staff for making the night so special — I have to say it was so nice to have people wait on you who showed character and excitement to see their guests enjoying the experience they were part of. We had the pleasure of staying in Castle View. We had a family suite which was amazing, period mix with contemporary bathroom which was fantastic and spotlessly clean. A big thank you to all involved — we will definitely make a return visit.

Whilst we couldn't fault the castle and the restaurant where the staff were very helpful and attentive, the same cannot be said for the Castle View room 10. The drapes over the bed were extremely dusty, items were left in the drawer from previous guests, furniture was in need of cleaning, windows were covered in black mould, and the bed base was very marked — had there been a valance cover this would at least have been covered up. The skirting boards were very scuffed and dusty. The whole room definitely is in need of redecorating. A bit disappointing.

Great room (We had Greenwich) and beautiful views! The dinner was very unique (too fancy for our tastes) and breakfast was delicious. Don't rely on the taxis though, definitely bring your own vehicle!

This hotel is briliant looks amazing just as inside. Unfortunatly they didn't have a free room in the castle just only in the castle wiev part. I definetly will come back.

Loved the hole experience from the moment I drove through the gate for a surprise birthday and I loved the experience (but not all of it). Ok so we weren't in the castle which my girlfriend didn't realize while booking but the room in the lodge however was brilliant as was the food. So why am I leaving such a bad rating. 1) So this gets across and not over looked as it was so annoying. 2) I lost sleep and it spoiled part of the experience. Ok so what happened. Well the manger and other staff also share the accommodation in 'The Lodge' in the grounds of the castle where we had a room. The Manger who lived on the ground floor kindly had his what must have been a large Tv which had a boomy sound which was on until the early hours, (even after notifying reception of the problem). I was told the next day he was asked to turn it down. Although not excessively loud the bass was the main issue and it was very annoying mainly because I was aware of it from early on in the evening thinking it would be turned off as the rest of the lodge became silent. The thing that annoyed me the most about it was knowing what and who was causing the noise from the outset and it was barely turned down when they were made aware of it. The rest of the staff were brilliant throughout the stay and the person on reception immediately contacted the manager but unfortunately didn't quiet get the message. If it was a guest I wouldn't complain, but the manager. Come on.

Went for our wedding anniversary and had a perfect evening. Staff are excellent, very helpful. Food is really nice, looking forward to the new chefs menu. We will be going back. Good value for money.

Really nice experience — groupon — only comment would be better Wi-Fi in the castle view rooms — but that's all.

It seems to have set out to be a luxury hotel without all the trappings a lot of them go for (like spa's or golf) with one very big advantage that it's a real life castle. The food on offer was excellent as was the service I did especially like the competent but laidback feel they used. We stayed in the castle itself and the room was frankly amassing with space to spread around from the couch with large screen tv. To the window seats which were perfect for reading. What it does it does it very well. The focus is primarily for weddings but if your looking for a short holiday I doubt you'll do wrong going here. The few quibbles that you should know are disabled access won't be easy, they do have lodges that seem to be disabled "friendly" although I never went inside one and the restaurant is on the ground floor so if you are in a wheelchair you can sleep and eat. But remember that this is a castle and stairways are everywhere some with odd sizes of step. If you are unsteady on you feet it may be worth asking them about it. All in all it was an excellent short break and I plan to go back one-day.
