Lovely place great views from hotel Staff were excellent and very friendly I will come here again and I would recommend this place. Food is great too,,, spa staff are also a great bunch … to all the staff at the hotel thanks guys had a great stay. Xx.

Nice room and gorgeous setting Food not the best I have ever eaten but we were part of a huge group and plates seemed different person to person. Missing food and different sizes.

We stayed here as we have visited for a drink. It is a beautiful place but for 120 per night I wasn't impressed with the rear room overlooking the bins. I would have paid half that price happily. I booked through Expedia and can presume the naff room was because of tha. Another couple we spoke to paid far less for a super front room with a view. The breakfast was nice and the service hit and miss. The first morning was poor and disorgained but the staff the following morning were on the ball. The barman was great and it was lovely that we could sit in the lounge on the second night as the bar was very noisy. I would stay again but would check which room I had before I parted with any money.

Thank You for the last 3 nights stay at the netherwood. I must praise all your lovely staff from the helpfull receptionists to the pleasant barman even the cleaners … but a big big Thank You to Lindsay for going over and beyond helping us not only changing our room and making it up to single beds but every time I saw her she asked if everything was ok for us … I've travelled the world and UK staying in hundreds of hotels some 5 star and I've NEVER had such lovely hotel staff than the Netherwood it's been a real pleasure the food also was delightful and the breakfast was yummie and lovely friendly staff serving us. SO WELL DONE EVERYONE we'll defiantly be back … much appreciated.

Stayed for 2 nights in March 2018. Room 6 good views but boiling hot. Clean room but shower cubicle like a tel box. If your a well built person avoid room 6. Hotel beautiful period wood and great decor. Trying to find reception staff th real problem. Food ok but compared to other hotels we have eaten in very average and expensive. This hotel needs to look at the competition out their a d adjust accordingly. Will not be returning anytime soon.

Great scenery and historic building. Food was not too great in taste however well presented and prompt to arrive. Some rooms rather dated however there were renovations taking place so modernisation is taking place. The view from the hotel over morecambe bay second to none however.

Room was freezing cold. Food was bland. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Lovely building and very clean. Although our room was dated I can't fault the place for an overnight stay. The price was value for money given the sea view and the well kept gardens. Would visit again in the summer.

Very nice meal, good service and friendly staff. Only negative was the dessert, a deconstructed lemon meringue pie… flavours were good but it wasn't a lemon meringue PIE!

Booked in for lunch on arriving we were seated in what became a corridor. We ordered soup and sandwich the soup was luke warm and the sandwich full of gristle. I've been to the Netherwood many times over the years and this was very poor. I would suggest in future no bookings be taken if a large wedding party are in. The lady who initially seated us and took the order was very pleasant otherwise it would be one star. We did tell the member of staff when paying about our concerns but nothing came of it. I do hope improvements are made as there are plenty of other places in Grange to eat.

Nice venue and near the train station which is great. Drinks were a bit extortionate though.

Two day break at this lovely hotel with my sister, can't fault staff, room or food. Hoping to be back for 3rd time soon.

Came here for a wedding recently. The hotel and the grounds are amazing. Only downside is the rooms are in desperate need of refurbishment, but they are doing their best with what they have — overpriced for the current standard though. Cannot pay with card at the bar — they make you put it all on your room tab.

We had a lovely evening here, wonderful food and the service was very professional. The views from the restaurant are fantastic. All in all a great experience which we would love to do again.

This hotel is ok if you are into old buildings it looks lovely on the outside but inside the smell isn't very inviting. It is in serious need of updating in terms of amenities. The shower was the worst shower I've ever had it literally dribbled at you. We stayed in the superior room with a sea view, the view was amazing. The only problem was if you want a lie in you'll be disappointed because they had their delivery of beer at 8am right below our window. The doors of the room need a soft close introduced to them as other guests had a habit of slamming their doors at all hours. The room itself needs new carpet and wallpaper, the wallpaper was ripped and had stains on it and the telephone on the bedside table was yellow where it was so old. Staff need to be a bit more informative as me and my partner came back just after 22:00 after a day out and found the front door locked and only got into the building because one of the guests was coming outside to walk their dogs. I don't think I'd stay here again unfortunately even though from the outside it is a beautiful hotel but needs a few tweaks inside.

We visited the hotel for a work summer due. The staff where amazing, the food was lovely, a nice selection for both meat eaters and vegetarians. The bedrooms are beautiful and the grounds are breathtaking. I would visit here again for both personal and work visits. Cannot fault anything.

I recently attended the Netherwood Hotel for a sixth form ball with my year group. Despite some expensive drinks, I found the place inviting and well-facilitated. The staff were very kind and tolerant of our "merriness". We had a three course meal which was exquisite, along with a glass of wine of our choice. The quality of the refreshments was excellent. I would recommend this hotel without any hesitation!

We only tried the restaurant and the food was fantastic. Reasonable prices for the set menu with a warm and pleasant setting.

The baby changing facilities in the spa were poor.

I have to say an amazing venue, staff, food — everything. I had my wedding here last week and the staff couldn't do enough for us. They set the room beautifully and exactly as I asked. Gorgeous views throughout the hotel, and the main dining room we had our wedding breakfast in was gorgeous. The Food was outstanding! No one out of all our guests could say a bad word. They were brilliant with the children (having triplets as part of our group too to test them! ) and could cater from the youngest at 8 months old to my nan at 80 odd. Cant reccommend enough.

A bit less attention to the topiary and a bit more attention to the guests is required here. Service is reasonable but the experience is Morticia Adams meets Fawlty Towers. This place is in need of some fresh air. The dining room should have wonderful views over Morcombe Bay. It's a shame you cant see the view because of the ridiculous heavy curtains. The rooms are supposedly renovated. The are (to be fair) better than many hotels of similar price in the area (having stayed in about 30) but are still overpriced for what you get. In the main the hotel comes across as being a bit dark and depressing. The staff make up to this to a point and the owner is very friendly and wants to do well. They do a good pint of guinness for a hotel and everything more or less works as expected, but nothing really stands out. Didn't stay for dinner so can't comment on the food. However. Breakfast. Why do hotels use orange juice from concentrate? Fresh juice is not too much to ask. And plastic flowers. Please — get rid of them. The Netherwood didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth, but it didn't make me want to go back either. Not particularly good value. Penguin Review Service.
