Lovely friendly staff, food excellent. We had no hot water but once told this was soon rectified, Thank you. Gym well equipped, pool bigger than many hotels. Room was very spacious and tidy. We would come back. Beautiful surrounding views, lovely village nearby. Regards Tracey x.

Value for money on a Groupon offer. Staff friendly, room clean and spacious, food in restaurant very good, leisure facilities very good. Walking in area excellent. Tinned fruit for breakfast a negative and no shower in our room amazing for the 21st century. Worth a return visit.

Really nice place at a reasonable price. Evening food menu was very good and a superb breakfast. Host and staff were brilliant. 4 out 5 because shower was broke in room.

Our stay in a twin room at the Whoop Hall Hotel cost less than £200 for both of us for 2 nights which I thought was excellent value for money considering we also had use of the swimming pool, Jacuzzi, Steam Room and a Sauna. Our room was clean and tidy, as was the rest of the hotel, and the Reception Area/Lobby/Sitting Area was very welcoming (not too formal). Breakfast and evening meal was excellent. There was a small terrace out at the back to sit and enjoy a drink, although a few plants in the pots would not go amiss. All in all our stay was excellent value for money and I would not hesitate to recommend it to friends or family as it was within easy reach of Kirkby Lonsdale, the Lakes and the Ingleton 5 Mile Waterfall Walk.

I loved it here. It is on a main road between Bradford and Lancaster I. E. On our route to visit number 1 child but actually I stayed here to deliver a session on a training course at a conference and I loved almost everything about it. It is small, and snug, and cozy, and everything like that you would expect from the smaller types of hotels that you see less and less of nowadays. If you want big corporate polished type environment then this is not the one for you. If you want a quirky country type feel then here you go. I loved the food and my room was okay. Was a tad loud and I would had liked a bath as I generally need to soak my back each evening to get it working again for the following day but a few extra pills and I forgave them for that. Very cute.

Was verbally abused by the licencee when we attempted to bring our own drinks up our room. Was told we had to Pay and we said that was fine to which he said it was the sum of £50. It was 11pm bar was shutting at 12 no one else in bar, decided to get half bottle of wine from the car to finish in room and he became aggressive and confrontational. Feel uncomfortable staying here and wouldn’t recommend. Such as shame because all other members of staff were lovely.

Good accommodation, great breakfast, friendly helpful staff. Just wish music not so noisy later at night as can be heard loudly in bedrooms. Lovely well maintained pool and spa/ gym area. Will definitely visit again.

It was very cold, received a very odd welcome and the drinks were over priced. We had a baby seat and it was extremely dirty. Service was … Ok. Wouldn't go again.

We enjoyed two nights in this lovely hotel and were treated well. The food was good, the room was well appointed and the staff were delightful. As it was very cold weather, we felt that although the open fire was lovely, it didn't filter through into the rest of the lounge and dining areas. The room was warm enough and the water piping hot so we didn't suffer! Would recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay in the area.

Set in a very nice position in the country side. Room was clean but dated. Food was nicely cooked but breakfast was cold. Staff were pleasant. The health club was very good.

Family run. Very friendly. Lovely clean rooms with T V and plenty of tea & coffee available in the rooms. Food is amazing. Access to fitness & pool is a huge bonus too.

Lovely place in the Dales. Good access from the A65 with ample parking. Room was clean and tidy. Bed comfy. Didn't use the Wi-Fi so can't comment. Bar prices are reasonable.

We stayed at The Whoop Hall for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were extremely welcoming and the hotel itself was very cosy. The spa was excellent and we enjoyed winding down (and warming up! ) in there after a day's walking with the dog. The dog was also welcome and it was a great bonus that she was also allowed in the bar area. We would definitely recommend and will be retuning in the future. Thank you!

Lovely downstairs. Bedroom are a bit over tired but lovely staff made up for that. Great pool.

Great place. Lovely food. Lovely staff happy to help. Great pool with sauna steam room and gym. Lovely breakfasts and love quiet evening by the fire with a beer. Loved my stay at this place.

Quite good for the price. Had a couple of good meals there. Staff were pleasant. Room was a bit dusty and some light bulbs didn't work but for a short stay and low price it was fine.

Stopped for lunch when driving by. Nice coal and wood fire burning which was welcome! Food was great and fresh with good quality ingredients and execution. Dog friendly which is a massive plus for us.

We stayed in the Loft apartment which is a good size for a break. There is a leisure pool on site with sauna and steam room. Kirby Lonsdale is just a short drive away with some good shops and walking paths. Places of interest include Devil's Bridge and Ruskin's View.

Bar staff bloody minded and petty, bed rock hard, I'm writing this at 03:30 because I can't sleep lay on bed any longer, there is mold in bathroom. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Absolutely superb … even though we were staying at top meadows cottage. The staff at whoop hall have been wonderful … so polite and full of fun… highly recommended… lamb shank is to die for and washed down with a pint of black sheep beer… heaven… can't wait for our next break.

Abrupt manager breakfast was awful warm not hot poor quality room was OK needs some TLC and new staff who have manners and look professional.

Nice food (puddings were especially excellent) and attentive staff. Odd layout but overall a good place to stop off and have a good meal.

Three of us visited Whoop Hall for lunch. The bar was chilly and the service charmless. One main course was only half cooked. After some argument with the barman, it was sent back to the kitchen. It was finally returned without apology, after two of us had finished eating, on the same bed of salad leaves — by now bruised and wilted.

My wife and I used a Wowcher for a two night stay. We were greeted with a lecture explaining how customers with vouchers tend to be thieves and we were made to feel like second class citizens, not being allowed to book drinks ect. To our room and being given a restricted menu for dinner. This was a shame because Whoop Hall is a good hotel in a wonderful location. The staff were friendly but the management need some training. A return visit is most unlikely.

Stayed 2 nights with my good friend. Room good-comfortable bed. A little noise due to A65. Really enjoyed pool. Sauna etc no fuss and easy to use food good and people very approachable. Thoroughly recommend.

Pleasantly surprised after seeing some very poor reviews. Staff friendly, food excellent and the two night deal was great value. Decor and furnishings could do with a little modernisation and there were a couple of issues with the room, the mattress springs had collapsed on one side, the kettle wanted replacing and the main light in the room wasn't working but none of these issues detracted our overall enjoyment. Spa was good too and there's a well equipped gum.

Stayed in holiday apartment in grounds of Whoop Hall — very comfortable, spacious and well fitted with fantastic views.

Great place. Accommodating, good food, friendly staff, great free spa, good beer, good prices, what more do you want? Pet friendly, advice on days out, etc etc, so we're giving it five stars.

This was the worst place we've stayed in. On arrival the rudest man ever told us we were too late for our Afternoon Tea with prosecco. Nowhere did it state what time you had to arrive yo get it! After much persuasion we were eventually given a flat glass each. We then heard the rude owner loudly talking about us to the waitress. The room was recently refurbished and decorated nicely, however he bedside lamp didn't work and the bathroom door wouldn't shut — by a few inches! No privacy at all. The radiator was piping hot and there was no way of turning it off. It later became apparent it goes on and off intermittently. As did the water whilst showering. The evening meal arrived — mine undercooked and cold in the middle and my partners whitebait was dark brown and frazzled. The main courses consisted of oven chips and fish and a reasonable burger in a brioche bum with a knife stabbed through it to hold it together! The sticky toffee pudding was served in a skillet with a warning not to burn ourselves on it — no chance of that as it was cold! Our neighbour'so ice cream was rolled across the carpet on arrival (admittedly a mistake). The owner was brash, rude, unhelpful and disinterested. The Wi-Fi was £4 per person and still didn't work very efficiently. The breakfast was lukewarm and congealed. We overheard another guest complaining that the coffee he'd specifically been in to order for 16 people at his meeting for 9.30am hadn't materialised.

The swimming pool is closed to children after 6pm and my son who had waited all day for a swim went to our room crying, while I promised him a film via the internet. That was another false promise. The "free" Wi-Fi is not free — they charge you £4 per day to use it! When I approached the owner regarding swimming poot and the Wi-Fi charges he was offhand, rude and uninterested. The room was dirty: used tissues under the bed, sheets of writing paper, written on by a previous guest, and a vacuum cleaner had not seen under the bed for a long time. The bed was on its last spring, and the headboard so loose plaster was on the floor from the wall where it hit everytime you moved a muscle. The worst was the "owners" complete disinterest and rudeness.

As a family of four, we chose this hotel for a two night stay as it promised us a spacious family room and as family run establishment, great service. What a disappointment! We feel completely ripped off. Our stay at the Hyatt Regency in Birmingham cost the same amount of money and the difference was a 5 star accommodation verses a 1 star at Whoop Hall at best. It must've been a great hotel in the 70's because they have not bothered to update any of the furnishings or amenities. Our bathroom reminded me of a motel back in South Africa with the toilet showing signs of never being cleaned under the rim. Unfortunately, I know this because this is the view when you're in the bath. I felt nauseous at the state of the bathroom. When we arrived, our room was made up for 3 people, despite our printed off reservation clearly being for 4. I was told that the error was mine seeing as these mistakes can easily happen when bookings are made on-line. I'm not sure how to take this as surely most reservations are made on-line these days. Another sign that the hotel is not up to modern standards. A fourth bed was brought into our room which now meant zero space in our "spacious family room". Music from the bar downstairs was played loudly until 11:30pm each night, meaning that our 5 and 8 year old couldn't sleep until it ceased. At which point we could hear the road traffic all night long. Both beds in the room has collapsed bases so both sagged off badly to one side.

We are frequent visitors to Whoop Hall and we love it. Very Dog Friendly, the food is excellent, staff very friendly.

We have just spent 2 nights at Whoop Hall with friends and as it was our second visit I can say reliably that the food and breakfast are excellent and the poor reviews in no way describe or reflect a place that is very accommodating and friendly. Bar serves Black Sheep and prices much lower than Chester. If you want a relaxing week away check this out.

Our stay at The Whoop Hall was very enjoyable. We were made to feel very welcome. Room no 5 which we stayed in for two nights was bright, clean and welcoming after a 4 hour drive. We had a Groupon voucher package which was good value, 2 nights stay, afternoon tea, 3 course meal on one day and full English breakfast both mornings. The food was to a very good standard. Also free use of the pool and leisure facilities made this a very relaxing stay. We were very pleased with our stay and would recommend Whoop Hall to everyone.

Very bad indeed, for start afternoon tea was a joke Sandwiches dried out on edges, crusts still on, 2 thumb nail pieces of we do not know what. The only decent thing was the scones. Now we come to the room no: 8 no view from window due to pane of glass misted up due to seal broken, whole of room could do with coat of paint. Toilet seat underneath looked as if it had been attacked where your privates go. Dirt around edges of bathroom, radiator not been dusted for a long time dust thick on top. Shower, had to keep stopping flow due to water not doing down plug hole at speed of shower. Evening meal was a disgrace steak pie with chips, sent back. Gravy more like water no taste chips oven chips not cooked properly, wife had sea bas the size of filet looked as if it had just been born. Both sent back. When I complained to owner he gave the impression if you don't like it you know what to do. But the best was the following morning in the breakfast room, the owners daughter came walking through with a dog as we all where eating breakfast, then the waitress who was serving us all gave the dog a hug and stroke then carried on serving. Would not recommend the place at all.
