We stayed in the Lodge at the back of the main house, a one bedroom self contained apartment, absolutely fantastic place to stay for the two of us and our pet dog.
Our hosts Tim & Karen were most welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, great advice on where to go and what to see.
we would highly recommend this place as a base to tour the beautiful countryside within the Lake District.
We enjoyed our week at the Lakeside Country Guest House so much that we have already booked for next year!

Best place to stay in the Northern lakes. Warm hospitality, fab breakfast, superb views, great location and superbly comfortable.

LOVED my stay here. The guest house was very traditional which isn’t normally my thing (my bf surprised me) but the host was literally absolutely amazing. She went above and beyond to help us have a nice stay including making a lovely vegan cooked breakfast and giving us great tips on places to eat and go etc. Also literally 5 mins down the road through a gap in the bush you can get your very own (what felt like our) private lake where we went swimming. Just lovely.

The house and room is clean, tidy and cosy. The hosts provide very genuine British hospitality. Breakfast is filling and Arnie’s marmalade and jams are wonderful. Noise travels easily through the house at night. Lakeside Country Guest House is more worth their price than other nearby B&Bs.

Stayed in their lovely 2 bedroom cottage. Fantastic open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge. Really recommend this place. They also b&b. Right on Lake Bassenthwaite.

Lovely guesthouse with amazing views of Bassenthwaite lake. Nice modern rooms, and an amazing Cumbrian breakfast.

Lovely accommodation topped off with a cracking breakfast, made even better by the friendly and attentive service provided by the owners. They're biker friendly allowing you to park motorcycles securely at the rear of the property. It's located in a quiet area without shops in the immediate vicinity but there are supermarkets 10 minutes drive away so no problem if prepared. I only stayed for one night but would definitely stay here again if I return to the area for a longer stay.

Very homely with a wonderfully pleasant host. The rooms are a decent size with an en suite, little tv, kettle. Some rooms have a separate private bathroom rather than an en suite. Breakfast was a pretty standard English fry up affair. Not much to do at the place itself other than to take in the gorgeous views. It's about a £15 taxi ride ride to Keswick.

Lakeside Country Guest House is situated in a quiet position with views of Lake Bassenthwaite from the front rooms. We had a small double with ensuite, overlooking the garden and lots of small birds. We wanted accomodation that was smoke and petfree. Sharon welcomed us with tea in the guest lounge and was helpful throughout our stay with suggestions for restaurants and making sure we had all we needed. The house is lovely with big reception rooms and a wide staircase. Our room was not large but very comfortable and extremely clean with quality linens, TV and access to Wi-Fi. There was plenty of choice for breakfast including smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, full English breakfast, fresh fruit and cereal. Great drives, walks and magnificent scenery accessible from here for the adventurous.

Stayed 3 nights; received a very warm welcome; our room was very comfy, the bed too. Sharon was very helpful and has lots of local knowledge. I would not hesitate to recommend this place.

I complained to the landlady about THOUSANDS of flys/flees in the superior suit, all over the walls, ceilling, bed, doors and floor. I was met with a very confrontational and threatining attitude. After no satisfaction we decided to leave, we informed the landlady that we would not pay the bill and departed shortly after midnight. The landlady became abusive and slammed the door in our faces, she was upset that we ony booked one night in the summer and since the booking she has had to turn away larger bookings. Two days later they stole £80 from my account. The matter is now in the hands of the police. Very poor indeed.
