We cannot speak highly enough of The Beacon Country House Hotel having just had a four night short break here we are so glad that we stayed here and didn't choose similar Hotels in the area on booking. Com
The location is stunning set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and yet only 10 minutes walk from the hidden gem of Chapel Porth.
The hosts Nigel and Jayne were very welcoming and could not do enough to makesure we enjoyed our stay from the detail of how you preferred your food to be cooked to recommending local walks and places of interest to visit.
The Hotel is spotlessly clean and made our stay even more comfortable.
Thank you we will most definitely be returning.

Difficult to choose somewhere we could feel safe these days but having stayed before, we knew that the hotel would take every Covid precaution to take care of us! They went above and beyond — Perspex screens in the restaurant so you had your own bubble, yet could still chat with neighbours. They used really good hand sanitiser, staff at meal times wore masks and lots of great procedures to stop any infection.
Meals were presented in a different way but, as usual, it was a superb breakfast with everything you wanted.
Room was spotless. Well cleaned and sanitised before we arrived, carefully making sure that guests were safe — even putting remote controls in plastic!
The hand sanitiser, which had to be used before entering the hotel and before going into dining room, and the cleaning products used, were of hospital standard.
Precautions didn’t get in the way of having a great stay — very friendly and the team can’t do enough for you!

Beautiful hotel in a really beautiful location. Our room was spacious, modern and clean with views of the sea and countryside. The bed was SO COMFY! Highest standards of cleanliness throughout the whole hotel. Jayne and Nigel were friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. Lots of delicious breakfast options. Loads of beautiful walks around the area and a bonus that we were able to take our dog! Can’t wait to visit again.

The Beacon Hotel is amazing! We had the most amazing Valentines evening! Delicious food, great atmosphere and Friendly staff. Spacious rooms with such a beautiful view!

Everything is above what I expected for our valentine weekend. The food is superb absolutely delicious and the staff are so genuine, you feel like you are part of the family and nothing is a bother. The room we had was really clean and so comfortable, the whole hotel has a comfortable atmosphere which is so welcoming. Lots of local advice on what to do even with storm Dennis making a windy wet day. The room was really quiet and I didn’t notice. Views are beautiful and 100% we will be returning. A lovely hotel with lovely owners and staff. Couldn’t of wished for a nicer stay.

We have just had an amazing weekend at the hotel celebrating a golden wedding anniversary. The hotel is so comfortable that we felt at home. Spacious, comfortable room with en suite. Amazing views from every window. The food was so tasty and plenty of it. The owners and staff are friendly and efficient but as our party were the only guests, they were there when we needed them but otherwise kept in the background. Can’t say anything negative and would highly recommend either for a celebration or a peaceful break in the beautiful surroundings.

This small country hotel is really an insider's tip with a beautiful view over the north coast of Cornwall.

Just had a two night stay at this lovely friendly hotel. Rooms are lovely, bright and clean ours had lovely views of the sea and st ives. Breakfast was excellent, so too was the evening meal we had. Great location for exploring around Newquay Perranporth Truro and down to Falmouth. John and his wife Lorena make you very welcome and with their family run a very well run hotel. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble, nice to see a family working together and enjoying what they do. Well done and we hope to come back soon.

Amazing, friendly and homely accommodation.

I think last year was the fifth time my wife and I have stayed at the Beacon (in five years! ) and we love the place. Hope to be going again later this year if family commitments allow. Food is fantastic — you definitely shouldn't miss out on the steak and ale pie and never forget: if you have the fish it will be "on your plate within hours of being in the sea". Great family run hotel.

This is a lovely place, great views and very comfortable rooms. The hotel is family run, and very welcoming and friendly. While we were there it was clear that many of the guests were returning time after time. If you are travelling as a single person you would feel very safe and comfortable.
The hotel is little way out of the village of St Agnes, easily walkable.
We really enjoyed the breakfasts, which offer a good choice of quality items.

What a beautifully stunning hotel. The setting is so peaceful and the owners are absolutely wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. The food is amazing and our room was so clean and cosy and had everything you could possibly need. I would recommend this hotel to everyone as our stay was 5*. Thank you for making our stay so perfect, cannot wait to return in the future xxx.

Staying with John, lorena and the family is like being welcome into a family. They are excellent hosts, warm and friendly people. The meals are generous and it is embarrasing not being able to finish the helpings! The views from The beacon are magnificent and it is well placed for waling and exploring Cornwall. I would suggest that they have a wine list available but that is a small detail when they run such a good business.
