The Smugglers Inn really is a little gem of a place! We stayed two nights bed and breakfast, and we ate in the pub both nights too. The food is beyond delicious. We were made to feel so welcome by all the staff too. It really is a wonderful place 💖

The food was absolutely amazing and great service. The starter menu looked lovely, so my wife and I decided to have one of each!
I highly recommend the Smugglers Inn, and as an added bonus, the owner is a fellow petrol head with a lovely Ford F100 pickup truck parked up outside and a Harley parked in the reception room😃👍

Popped in for food quite late in the day. The superb staff kept the kitchen open. Food was amazing and the staff were so friendly. Would definitely go back!

We visited last night, we aren’t from the area. We were warmly welcomed and accommodated last minute.
There were sufficient Covid measures in place. Lovely atmosphere, the staff were wonderful, friendly, helpful and very good with our 19 month old little girl!
They were playing peek a boo with her, they were chatting to her, even gave her a little plate and fork for her to eat some food with us!
The food was delicious! Very generous portion sizes, very reasonably priced. We had a lovely evening. Thank you!

Amazing! Food was delicious our party had whitebait, king prawn asparagus and soup starters all yummy! Followed by steaks, chicken burgers and top rib for mains then some cheesecakes for dessert best meal I’ve ever had!
Staff were friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was great! Definitely visit if you’re in the area!

Had roast dinners delivered today and they were amazing! Arrived hot as well, even the gravy! Would definitely recommend.

Ordered a variety of your burgers for the first time tonight. SOOOOO GOOD! could say one of the best chicken burgers I have ever had and very good value for money! The chips were really nice too! All arrived still warm & driver was super friendly and polite! Definitely on the top of my takeaway recommendation! See you again next week! & I look forward to visiting the restaurant when you open back up! Thanks all!

Just had a take away roast, if you are contemplating it. You have too! It was absolutely amazing. Such a good value for money and great quality food.

The food we’ve just had was amazing and the service was excellent. Very attentive staff who went above and beyond expectations. We’ll definitely be back. A special thanks to Jack and Lauren and Maya.

Arrived at 730pm was told 45 min to an hour been waiting 1hr 45min totally fuming. 30weeks pregnant and cant eat past certain times due to uncomfortable sleep.
really not impressed total waste of an evening. Food was not i. Impressive neither. Mashed potato had mustard seeds throughout it and raw leeks when this was not stated on menu. Foul food.

Been in Newquay for 2 weeks now and only found this place on the last night, fantastic food great staff, just a nice place, gutted we would have definitely called again, see you next year.

Absolutely incredible tried three of the dishes with friends and all of them was outstanding if your near this place definitely come I know I will again if I’m near by also the atmosphere inside is very welcoming and the staff are very nice there is also a very uncomplicated menu which cators to all people.

Lovely hosts trying to make a go of an extremely rundown inn. Friendly, great food, fish and chips are amazing.

Always visit when down in St Mawgan, Owners, Staff & Food are a 10/10, child & dog friendly, & such a lovely relaxed atmosphere, & the Play lists are amazing. See you next time guys.

Came up to the Smugglers for a late lunch, to get away from the packed pubs by the coast. New (sh) owners provide a friendly welcome and the food is freshly cooked and tasty. Also recommend the home made cheese cake desert — All washed down with a nice pint "Proper Job" Ale. Also have to put in a mention for the pucker chips, that magically made their way from my partners plate! Sat in the conservatory with it's real grape vine growing over head, with it's country view out the back.

They have a pool table and darts along with a TV room which is a very nice touch for guests, a fun way to spend time. Beds are comfortable and spacious bathroom. Only improvement is that there is said to be Wi-Fi, however I could not find any signal whatsoever. If you rely on Wi-Fi, perhaps not the best place for you. Other than that, it is a very nice place with friendly staff and very close to the airport.

You get what you pay for! Yes the place is a bit tired and in need of a bit of an overhaul but the new owners are working so hard with what they have. Personally I can't fault the staff the food or the beer, just what I needed as a solo guest for a brief visit to see my new granddaughter. Thank you so much Lauren and co for making me so welcome. Booked a table for Father’s Day to treat my dad. The food was amazing, and the staff so helpful. When I booked I’d asked about wheelchair access, and when we arrived they’d already moved the chair to make room for my dads wheelchair. We can’t wait to go back. Definitely planning a return visit one lunch time.

Fantastic popped in for lunch in between two flights and had a cracking baked potato — very tasty.

Great but of food, lovely location. I thoroughly recommend stopping by and having a Sunday roast. The gammon was to die for.

Great place to stay, good beer, excellent food and comfy rooms. The new owners of this inn were friendly and helpful and are working hard to make this a great place. Would defiantly stay again when in the area.

Visited today for Lunch, the inn is run by a very friendly lovely young couple who advised they only took over in October, a fine selection of Rum and Gin, with a good selection of draught beers, the food was divide, our children had Fish & Chips, whilst my wife & I had Fish Pie which was mmmmmm, they were also serving Sunday Roast and are doing a BBQ from 5-8pm this evening, they also have 2 great pool tables and also do breakfast, which we will probably have to sample whilst we are here on holiday, highly recommend you visit, we enjoyed it and will be going again as it is also dog friendly.

Great place to stay and very reasonable prices the place is nice and clean and tidy the owners are sound and very helpful and friendly and the food is good too can recommend a visit.

Excellent under new ownership who are turning it round after years of bad management excellent food and clean in the process of completing total renevation.

Staff and new owners are working very hard. Probably the best breakfast that I have had in 50 years. Also served with a wonderful smile.

Amazing staff. Lovely pub and fantastic food. The rooms are a little bit cold even with heating and maybe could do with sprussing, but overall a good experience.

Just returned home from a 3 night stay. Friendly people but got the impression we weren't expected on arrival. Room was adequate but in need of re-decoration as was the entire building. The bed was comfortable but the radiator in our room did not work during the entirety of our stay. The food was good, however on the morning of our departure, having booked breakfast for 8.30am, we found the door into the dining area locked and nobody around to prepare food. We loaded our luggage into our car and when still nobody had arrived by 8.50am we put our keys in the outside post box and left. We had a 5 hour journey home ahead of us and were not happy. Fotunately we managed to buy breakfast in nearby Mawgan Porth before starting our journey home.

The vegan roast that myself and a friend had was hands down one of the best roasts I've ever had! The staff were super friendly & the pub is dog friendly… highly recommend!

Fantastic service & great food, friendly staff highly recommended found this place on last night of holidays which was the only disappointment.

The inn is in an ideal location for those flying from Newquay Airport, being about 1/4 mile from the entrance. Not so ideal for people visiting Newquay itself though, a bit of a trek from the town centre, at about 20 minutes by car. The room was adequate, if a little dated. Food was OK. Staff all seemed very friendly and helpful. The owners have cats and dogs, so be prepared for pets!

Friendly and welcoming staff. The dinner was also great. The location is perfect, just a few minutes walk from the airport.

Would not recommend this pub for dining, there is a room dedicated to cat's and unless you are a cat lover may be put off. We were! Childs high chairs were in with the cat's!

Clean room, good night sleep free Wi-Fi friendly owners and really good food breakfast was awsome too.

Perfect overnight stay very near airport very friendly owner and staff.

Now under new management. John Hicks came from the Isles of Scilly and if that wasnt recomendation enough he is a really good host and just what this historic inn needs. Visit, you will not be dissapointed.

We visited this pub for a luch time meal. Your first instinct on entering the pub — is to leave. It is dark and gloomy and in the sitting area personal papers were strewn around. It was not clean and the loos were awful. Worst of all the beer was not up to scratch either. Most of the menu was not available or items were being delivered shortly! Not recommended at all.
