GF fish and chips were really good. The batter was not too thick, but crispy and tasty. The meal was a much better experience than one we had at Rick Steins. Staff very allergy aware and friendly.

Stayed here for four nights and am missing the view, our comfy room, delicious breakfasts, very tasty dinner and very friendly staff. Prime spot to relax and wander around the town. My husband and I had a great stay.

My son and I came down from Devon and first time visiting Fowey, such a stunning place. We visited Haveners and had a joke with a couple of members of staff about a Devon cream tea. We all had a good laugh, service, food and staff absolutely amazing, highly recommend this place and will 100% be back… if only to educate them on how a cream tea should be 😂😂😂

Burgers are lovely & I’m not a burger fan but my husband said they were very nice & he does like a burger. Place was very busy which says a lot. Dog friendly too. Would recommend.

Wonderful stay at the Havener’s Rooms which are attached to the Bar & Grill… The room was amazing… and the food matched it too… would definitely recommend staying in the one… and eating in the other!

The food was absolutely delicious (my husband and I both had the fish and chips for lunch), the atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff and the service we received was very attentive. Cannot fault in anyway! Would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back when we are next in Fowey!

We had another wonderful experience in Havener’s today. Despite all the challenges the hospitality sector is facing in Cornwall the team are delivering wonderful food and brilliant service with grace and professionalism. Friendly, welcoming and super tasty food in a relaxed environment. Couldn’t ask for more. Well done team — you’re doing an awesome job.

Great food and views — cream teas hreat.

Straight onto a harbour side table, no waiting involved, steak cooked exactly how I asked… exactly, chocolate brownie was perfect and alcohol free beer available which to me is important and you’d be surprised how many restaurants still don’t … serving staff casual but polite and quick service which is all I’d ever want. Get some lobster and steak combo on the menu and I’d be in every day. 10/10

Very nice food, well presented and friendly staff. The view's are second to none. Not the cheapest but worth the extra.

Great location. Great choice of drinks-but very pricey. Food looked good, but prices put us off eating.

An excellent take away, who managed to deal with our order for 43 scouts and leaders excellently! They even closed the shop for us, which meant our hungry kids were fed within half an hour of us placing the order. Each meal was individually prepared, which saved the hassle of splitting fish between kids, would definitely visit again!

Absolutely delicious fish and chips, and had impeccable customer service that can be matched by no one, very quick service especially for for 40 odd scouts, just tremendous all round.

Very nice spot right next to the river with plenty of outside seating. A small menu that is as tasty as it is superbly cooked and presented. With plenty of locally sourced fresh fish dishes including Fowey mussels! The decor is modern and clean, and the staff are very welcoming, with a prompt service. A must try spot for any trip to Fowey.

Excellent service in a busy town square pub and the food was good too, although £13 for a crab sandwich was a bit hefty.

Good food at lunch time and evening good service and lovely outside seating area looking over the water. Shame they do not do breakfast though just tea/coffee and cake! Who eats cake fot breakfast! Not the usual holiday breakfast choice even if they did croissants thats better than cake!

Bit disappointed, this is the second time I have visited and been served mussels that were luke warm at best, they were taken away and then returned to us the wrong way round, I had eaten one off the top before they returned to the kitchen and that bowl was given to my partner on their return from what I can guess was a microwave. The sauce was very salty and although I said I was disappointed the waitress said she would tell the chef and then disappeared not to be seen again. Fabulous location but won’t eat here again. Lovely place for a drink with a wonderful view.

Superb restaurant. The crab sandwich with lemon mayonnaise was very nice but the cheeseburger which I had was the best I've ever had, with chips to die for. If I could give 6 stars I would. Thank you for your service.

A very pleasant pub with good value food. All the staff were very good and the weather was fine enough for us to sit outside for our lunch. Fish and chips all round. The views were only obstructed by a cruise ship on the other side of the estuary.

Freshly cooked delicious food. Nice to get fresh vegetables when on holiday. Could do with more dessert options. Don’t recall seeing any vegan options. Staff friendly and helpful. Fish and chip shop next door did great chips. Fish was beautiful and fleshy but batter a bit soggy.

Friendly place on the quayside at Fowey. Welcoming staff but only a small bar. Definitely an eating house. The breakfasts were very good, nice and freshly cooked. The rooms are quite modern with a nice big shower in the bathroom of the twin room which I had.

Stayed in Fowey and came here a number of times. Warm and welcoming staff. Sunday lunch was massive and tasty no room for dessert. Food was tasty and it had a lovely atmosphere. I would recommend a visit if in Fowey.

Lovely building and location right by the water. We had a lovely weekend staff so warm and welcoming. Great evening meal and breakfasts. Rooms lovely updated clean decor and they think of almost everything. Water in the room would be great though and a phone to contact for any extras to save you go down and outside. Narrow streets to get there where I did breathe in a few times. Parking can be a problem can park outside but limited spaces but you only get 2 and a bit hours at a time unless you get there after 6pm and it lasts until 9am but that still means at 9am you have to go back out and pay for another 2hours if you want a late breakfast. Room 1 bit small poky, outside noise a big distraction.

Can't recommend this place enough — we had a lovely evening, food was amazing and ALL the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Couldn't of asked for more. Thanks guys we will be back.

Friendly staff, pleasant surroundings but the food and drink was not good at all.
I had a crab salad to start which OK. For mains I had a burger. The burger itself was ok, but the chips weren't cooked properly. The tiny portion of coleslaw it came with had obviously been sat uncovered in a hot kitchen for a long time as the mayonnaise had gone translucent and rancid.
My wife had linguine with truffle and heritage tomatoes. This turned out to be a bowl of linguine filled almost to the brim with vegetable oil, flavoured with harissa. The waitress was fobbed off by the chef that's what happens when you mix harissa paste and parmesan cheese. It was so greasy that it was almost impossible to pick up the pasta to eat it. Not nice at all. The pasta wasn't even home made, it was just dried pasta that you'd buy in the supermarket.
If you're charging £13 for burger and chips, and £14 for a vegetarian pasta dish, you need to serve a pretty awesome burger and pretty awesome pasta dish. The burger was adequate, the pasta truly awful.
The white wine wasn't properly chilled and neither was the cooler. Not good enough.
The waiting staff and manager had clearly heard it all before, judging by the reaction. The wine was removed from the bill and everything else reduced by 20%. We were also given a free cheesecake, sorry to say this was also not good — very bland although the accompanying ice cream and coulis was nice!
