The attention to detail is just amazing, as soon as we walked through the doors I was in awe, the food in both restaurants was beautiful but The Palm Court was the best I’ve eaten in a while. Spa is relaxing and calm. I’d definitely recommend and will be coming back.

We had our wedding at Grosvenor Pulford on Saturday and all I can say is WOW. Everything was perfect. Nothing was to much trouble. Emma was fantastic on the run up to the wedding. Alistair and his staff were amazing on the day. It was perfect. All staff were friendly and helpful. We knew what was happening every step of the way all stress was taken away from us. All our guests have commented on how lovely the wedding was and can’t fault a thing. Food was fab, resident DJ friendly and helpful, recommended room events dresser stunning. Even down to the domestic staff doing all they could prior to the wedding. If anyone is thinking of booking this venue for their wedding do it, you won’t regret it. Thank you to all at the Grosvenor Pulford for making our day perfect x.

The gentleman who greeted us (French, I think) at the Palm Restaurant was very attentive and courteous. Shame for the other young waitress that I asked the menu from and didnt give it to us and having to ask again after 15 minutes but apart from that it was a very nice afternoon tea, the atmosphere was amazing.

Great time at this establishment, in particular a very friendly young man called Aaron. This employee went over and above to ensure we had great service, a real credit to any employer.

Stayed here a few times now and more recently at the weekend for our anniversary. Rooms are lovely and we enjoyed 2 treatments at the Kasia spa. Sadly the food at the Nelson was disappointing and we couldn’t eat it but the Palm has never let us down especially the bountiful breakfast. Roll on our next stay, thankyou xx.

Just spent 2 nights with my husband at this wonderful hotel and spa for my birthday. The decor is absolutely stunning, spotlessly clean everywhere. Great amenities. The staff are helpful, friendly, professional and can’t do enough to make your stay perfect. Had some pamper treatments in the beautiful Spa by Kasia. My therapist was the lovely, highly trained Sunita. Nice chat with the very welcoming General Manager too. Our experience in Palm Court restaurant was fabulous. Food, service, drinks excellent. Lovely entertainment in the evenings too. I have been visiting The Grosvenor Pulford for many years. Each visit is a 5 ⭐️ experience. Thank you to the Nelson family and your wonderful staff.

Fabulous venue, staff were excellent, our first visit, but the food was quite disappointing.

The restaurant was lovely, the carvery was good as well, and the ambiance was excellent, spoilt by poor service, had to wait 20 mins at the bar to get served, and ordered drinks to the table with the food and had to ask twice before they arrived.

Was a lovely experience great spa, lovely dinner at palm courts. Would 100% recommend for anyone looking for a lovely getaway as a couple. Treatments at spa by kasia were fantastic. 10/10

Absolutely stunning venue to spend our ‘mini-moon’ at. The staff are superb; they couldn’t be more friendly & helpful. The facilities are faultless & the food is melt in the mouth. As for the cocktails……We will be back very soon!

Absolutely loved our stay from start to end. Staff lovely and friendly. Lovely room with lovely bathroom products, very clean. The place smelt amazing! Came for the Gary Barlow tribute night. Dan Hadfield was amazing interacted with the crowd great look alike and sounds alike. Saw him at breakfast and recognised us that’s how good he was with his crowd. 3 course meal was to die for and breakfast couldn’t wish for anything more. Beautiful building inside was gorgeous.

Went for a meal today. Food was good, but poor service very slow. We had all eaten apart from one that was still waiting for her food. Then when arrived wasn’t cooked! Was freezing cold in the tent. Ordered pudding which didn’t get due to slow service! Wouldn’t go again, sadly!

Far too busy! Staff running around like headless chickens frantically setting tables up for people they're too busy to serve! Extortionate prices and drinks served in plastic glasses. We were booked in yesterday, we waited an hour and didn't even have a drinks order taken so we left!

Very nice and tasty food. Beer was lovely too but in plastic cups. Meh it is what it is… other than that was nice and service was great.

We had a fabulous overnight stay at this stunning hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful, food was delicious and spa was very relaxing. The whole hotel felt very COVID safe and lots of thought has obviously gone into keeping staff and guests alike safe and comfortable. The only negative we had is the huge bed was very hard and the duvet a little small for the size of the bed but this would not stop us from booking again. We would definitely recommend this hotel and spa.

Had several lovely meals here in the past, so was looking forward to a nice lunch today in the Palm Court. Seems to me that there wasn't enough staff on, we ordered steaks for mains and prawn cocktails to start. Starters lovely. Then we waited an hour+ for our mains, when they did arrive steaks were dried up as if they had been standing for ages. There was no water on table, we had to request it, ordering drink refills was a problem and no one asked how our meals were. We felt the restaurant needed more staff and felt quite sorry for our waiter who seemed to be serving lots of tables. Fortunately we did get £10 off per person but was still expensive for the quality of food and service. Sorry but on this occasion would not recommend.

What a special place to stay everything was perfect from our upgraded room to the special surprise for our anniversary celebration, to the outstanding carvery and breakfast, comfy beds great room and shower a perfect overnight stay and will certainly be back again.

Beautiful hotel with top class food. Devine Al a carte restaurant and equally lovely pub! Room we had was superb. Staff absolutely first class. Spa is lovely with nice big heated pool. Fabulous 2 day break it was fantastic!

Beautiful clean rooms with fantastic facilities. All the staff we encountered were really friendly and welcoming. We visited the Spa which is stunning and only slightly let down by the leisure facilities (swimming pool/changing rooms etc) that seem a little tired and out of keeping with the lovely modern interior of the spa and hotel. Not a lot of room for lounging by the pool but otherwise a great hotel.

We had our wedding here on Friday and it was the most amazing day. The staff were amazing. They went above and beyond for us. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was incredible. The wedding coordinator Emma and reservations manager Kirsty were brilliant. Anything I asked or needed they were straight back to me with an answer and again nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend this hotel for food, to stay and for a wedding. Everything was perfect. Took the stress away from me. Thank you xx.

Gorgeous Hotel! Went for our first year wedding anniversary and Would really recommend it for couples wanting a nice spa break! Everything was spotless I would never have thought Pets are allowed too… Palm Court is gorgeous inside! Would definitely return in the future. Thank you for a lovely stay! :)

What a beautiful hotel, never been here before and I will definitely be coming back. Came here for my partners 30th birthday treat and baby moon and wasn’t disappointed. Our meal was lovely in Nelsons bar and breakfast was as lovely this morning. I will be recommending you to my friends and family.

We stayed the night here for a wedding we were guest at and it was a lovely place to hold a wedding ceremony at. The food and service was great, drinks a little pricey. Our room was fab and over looked the Chinese garden, Very spacious with more than enough things for our needs. Huge comfy bed and room service for breakfast was a treat we wouldn't normally do. I'd stay here again and remember to take our swimming gear to use the pool next time!

We had our wedding here in August and it was absolutely perfect. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for the staff and lots of our guests commented on this. This venue did everything they could to make a package that was exactly what we wanted. This venue also has gorgeous photo opportunities (I wish I could add a photo to this review).
We wish we could do it all over again as we would choose to have it here again in a heartbeat.

We have been coming here for 20yrs and it just gets better. It has recently had a major refurb and wow what can I say. The service is excellent and the food is brilliant. They need a loyalty card system. Purely superb.

Really fabulous hotel, the grounds, hotel and spa are all beautiful and designed to maximise relaxation. We've been most impressed with the staff they are all polite, friendly and extremely helpful! They moved us to a more modern room at our request as we were put in the older part which is being done up. The beds in both rooms were the most comfortable I've ever slept in at any hotel! Everything has been to an excellent standard. Many thanks to the wonderful staff including the housekeeping who were friendly and pleasant.

My Husband and I visited The Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa for our second wedding anniversary. The service was second to none as always. We loved dining in The Palm Court restaurant and really think the food here is the best we have ever had in the UK! All the staff in the Hotel are fantastic! It was especially good to see Alastair, Ben and Mary who were part of our wedding two years ago. Thank you all for your warm welcome and making our stay really special again. We must especially thank Ben for playing a piano piece for us whilst we dined at The Palm Court last night, it really made our anniversary dinner extra special. Andrew and I are already planning our next visit to The Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa. Can't wait!.

Second visit, last year for honeymoon and this year first wedding anniversary. The restaurant has changed and is very nice. The food in the pub is great and in the new restaurant, Palm Court is even better. If you want to have a nice meal in a lovely setting it is a must. Gentle waterfall sounds with romantic lighting. The pianist Mr Turner is very good and will play requests. We stayed in room 80 last year and 74 this year. Both lovely and luxurious. We have previously used the spa and pool, both fab. If you are looking for somewhere nice to go, recommend this hotel. The superior rooms are not cheap, but well worth some pampering for special occasions. Chester is a great city not far by bus which goes right past the hotel. All staff were polite and friendly. Would visit again.

Stayed here last week for my nephew's wedding for 2 nights, did not want to leave. Absolutely amazing hotel, with the most beautiful gardens. Staff are so friendly and really could not do enough for you. We will definitely be returning again.

What can I say, what an amazing experience we have just had at this hotel. Our son got married there this week and I am so pleased this was their dream venue. So where do I start? Well what a stunning hotel this is, the grounds and gardens are beautiful, just perfect for photographs, and the hotel is just full of beauty and character. We had lots of rooms booked out for family and the rooms were just perfect for all of our needs. On the eve of the wedding we took over a corner of the bar, the staff moved tables so we could all be together, nothing was to much bother. The food in the bar and for breakfast was gorgeous. The day of the wedding was just perfect, we were all looked after so well by all the staff especially Ben. The whole day ran so smoothly from start to finish, we couldn't fault a thing. The guests were well informed and looked after by the staff who are a credit to the hotel. The food in both the afternoon and the evening was perfect. Thank you so much to the staff and management of the hotel for making this day so perfect for the bride and groom and all the guests.

Absolutely amazing! We had our wedding here recently and they couldn’t of done enough for us, especially me as the bride. A lovely gentleman called Ben was running the show and he was polite and as helpful as he could possibly be. Unfortunately we didn’t catch the name of the second guy but he was amazingly helpful too, he even served up the fish and chips at night! I highly recommend a stay here and definitely recommend a wedding!

I have just attended a family wedding at this venue with my partner who has a broken Ankle From the moment we got there until we left the service was attentive, couldn’t have been more helpful and the staff really knew their stuff. The venue was very tastefully decorated and the food all day was excellent. The wedding host was on top of everything and the waiting on staff were friendly quick and very well organised. I would fully recommend this venue for any prospective weddings, I have thoroughly enjoyed my day and wish to thank all the staff for their help,

Grounds are amazing and the food was good. It was hot when I was there and there was no air coming into my room, but no hotels seemed to have good air circulation so if you have to pick a place to be hot this would be a good place.

Bed linen in the room was quite damp, the A/C did not function, and was told it would be fixed, (it wasn't). The occupants of the room next door liked to come and go at various times of the night including 0400hrs in the morning, they are still messing around as I write this comment, it's 0450hrs. All in all if you want to be made to feel 2nd class by staff who actually lie to you, this is the place for you.

All good, food sound, staff attentive & hotel itself very clean… during a break from the dour meeting I was in, a colleague & myself had a butchers around… the spa in particular looked lavish.

Went for a 21st birthday meal with family was very disappointed with meal really just paying for the name food average lettece with my meal looked like it had been there all week mixed grill was stacked on a skillet with no room what so ever to actually eat it without it topping off plate all in all over priced for what you get.

Wonderful and attentive staff, loved the lamb kofta special lunch. Will be going back again soon as enjoyed it so much.

We had our wedding at the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa on 25th March 2018 and had the most amazing day! This venue is beautiful inside and out and the staff are incredible. Everyone was so friendly and professional and cannot do enough for you. They ensured the day went without a hitch and we received lots of amazing feedback from our guests about how fantastic the staff were and how beautiful the hotel is. Special mentions need to go to Alastair and his team on the day for their hard work and organisation. Alastair went out of his way to put our mind at ease the evening before the wedding and keep us updated on what to expect throughout the day. The wedding breakfast and evening buffet food was delicious and the rooms were fantastic. I would also like to thank Nia and Emma in the events team who were brilliant in the run up to the wedding. Every query was answered quickly and efficiently and they were on top of everything at all times. I requested the use of one of the private suites for myself and my bridesmaids to get ready in and have breakfast in the morning of the wedding which was great and I would recommend this for all future brides! I can’t wait to go back to the hotel to see the new restaurant when it reopens and we will definitely be back for an anniversary get away. Thank you again Grosvenor Pulford for helping to make our special day so perfect!

Lovely atmosphere and great for a carvery. Can get busy so always book in advance. Good venue for large family gatherings or special occasions. Friendly, professional and helpful staff.

Excellent treatments, staff very friendly and helpful. A pot of tea £5 seemed a bit extortionate considering the cups were small and only one of us was able to get half a second cup. Could do with wall hangers outside the sauna and steam room as there was nowhere to hang dressing gowns.

My fiancè and I enjoyed a meal in the Nelson's Bar last night, before attending the Bridal Fayre. The food is of high standard and consistantly good. We've dined here 4 times now, since our first visit in January, (to view the hotel as a wedding venue — now booked! ) because of the quality of the food and relaxed atmosphere. Can recommend the Crispy Chilli Beef Salad… a bit spicy, but extremely tasty and quite filling, for a salad. Desserts won't disappoint either!

Nice hotel but for the price some extras should be standard. When we had a complaint it wasn't really addressed professionally. We got upgraded to a more expensive room. But turns out the cheaper one was nicer (upgrade was due to there being stairs inside the room to access the bed which was strange and due to medical reasons that room wasn't suitable). Initially we were told to pay for the upgrade but I argued that the medical issue was explained when booking and it's unusual to have stairs inside the room. As I say nice hotel but staff training needed. Also a renovation was taking place which was very disruptive to the wedding I was attending.

Booked a couples massage it was amazing, spa is beautifully decorated and the staff are amazing. Left feeling deeply relaxed, thankfully we had booked a room and ordered room service which was delivered fast and the food was perfect. The room was large and had great amenities, rainfall shower was lovely. Would defiantly recommend.

Went there for my brother's wedding and the staff there were amazing, they made the day as easy and stress free as it could be for the couple. The place is very nice and easily accessible by all people. Food and drinks are very very good.

Large country estate only 5 miles from Chester town centre, very attentive and pleasant staff throughout. Room is huge with sofa and plenty of sockets! Currently an area is under renovation and it will definitely improve the whole hotel. Breakfast is good. Looking forward to coming back.

Love this place! Update 7th January 2018 Ciro’s Brasserie serves its last carvery for approx 3months as it’s under going a big renovation along with about 30 bedrooms. Although there will still be a Sunday night Carvery In either Nelsons bar or the Grosvenor Suite. It’s such a successful place it’s always very busy, the whole hotel, bar, spa, weddings etc. I notice cars even park on the road now. Spa treatments are wonderful and the Japanese Garden is lovely.

Wonderful staff. Very helpful. They all do an amazing job. The hotel is very clean from the spa, reception areas, restaurant and bar. The room and other areas are very clean. The food in both eateries were amazing. Can't fault anything here.

Went here for a spa day, absolutely brilliant. Great relaxing space, treatments and pool area. Could have more loungers available near the pool as it got busy in the afternoon but otherwise great. Afternoon tea was also nice.

Good night out for our works do. Food was served hot and quickly, though the portions were a little small, they were enough as there was dancing afterwards. The staff were chatty and friendly and the site itself is a good clean and well presented place to be. The entertainment put on by the hotel was brilliant as well.

Went back here due to it being the place we got married. It has changed quite a bit. The room was cramped but ok. Sadly we could not get into any restaurant. Despite staying at the hotel and with 2 children. This I find unacceptable. Yes I know it's a busy time of year however my wife, daughter and I had arrived that morning from Australia after a 24hr flight which started the day prior with a 600km drive just to get to the airport. After arriving at Manchester we drove a further 75 miles to get my son and then another 50 miles to the Grosvenor. We could not check in early and then we could not get a sit down dinner. It was snowing outside so our option of going elsewhere was difficult. We ordered room service in the end. Pie was nice but cool and rest of meal stone cold. Burger was ok but cold Chicken was same Breakfast was nice the next morning but I find this poor treatment of hotel guests and returning guests who paid a substantial fee to have their wedding there in the first place and returned to reminisce. We notified the hotel and booked our rooms months prior, a note on file would have solved this or maybe at least squeezed us in for a meal. Hardly the greatest ask. Sad really.

Stayed for 1 night. Very nice hotel and the carvery was superb. As per other comments our rooms was a tiny bit noisy but this is a wedding venue type of hotel so its to be expected on a weekend to some degree and the room above had squeaky floorboards too but that didn't detract from a pleasant stay at all. The room was very good, as was the service and the spa.

Had a lovely evening. Great food great service. Very clean only criticism is that it's so hot everywhere. In the rooms in the restraints only place it felt cool was the foyer.

Excellent room, friendly and helpful staff and the food in Nelsons was excellent. The only issues I had were that the air con barely cooled the room despite a staff member setting it to the right mode for me and the shower faucet didn't allow for cold showers, the temperature instead ranged from hot to boiling point. They were a very dog friendly hotel as well, though my dog seemed to find the revolving door decidedly less friendly.

This hotel was fantastic. Booked as a last minute getaway as part of our honeymoon. Staff were extremely polite and helpful from the moment we arrived. Room was modern and clean. Food was amazing (recommend the sticky toffee pudding! ). The pool was also amazing. Overall well worth the visit and the cost.

Rooms were clean, spacious and lovely. Bed was huge and comfortable. Staff were responsive and helpful, particularly in the spa. Very dog-friendly, with a nice bed, bowls and treats for our boy. (Though, if you go out to, say, the spa, and leave your dog alone in the room, put out a do-not-disturb sign. Housekeeping came in, interpreted his excitement as distress at being alone, and took him from the room without leaving any notice or information about where he was. Fright of my life. ) Apart from that, my only complaint would be the Wi-Fi. Unsecured is offered for free, but capped at 512kb/s speed, with unlimited available for a fee (I think it was a fiver). Would recommend overall.

Loved ❤️ Room 27 — a little quirky rabbit warren! Filled with character! So clean & quiet. Delicious food at Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & I loved the Roman Style Pool, sauna, steam room & hot tub. Treated myself to a hand & foot massage. Wonderful! Outdoor garden is stunning! Staff very friendly & helpful. Will definitely return.

Excellent first impression. It's been a while since we've been back here, loving the stunning new decor.! What a pleasure it was to be greeted at your hotel by a wonderful receptionist called Jade. She was very professional and so bubbly and friendly to our group, she went out of her way to assist us and explained the new look in detail. It is not very often you will meet people like Jade and what an asset she must be to the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel. We had afternoon tea, also excellent! We shall be returning soon… well done. Mrs S. Would just like to say I came to a wedding in May and obviously because the Bride and Groom paid the food was fantastic and the whole day was amazing. I booked a room for the night which was very expensive especially as it was a very basic room with two single beds. The lights did not work but at least there was a lamp at the far end of the room which was were I slept. I also had the breakfast included in the price. But as I had paid for this, the breakfast itself was disgusting. Hard, rubbery, and cold. I complained as I was leaving and was told to put it in writing which I did, but as yet I have not even had a courtesy call to apologise. So my advice, do not order the £15.00 each breakfast as it is disgusting.

Top notch venue with hotel, two restaurants, bars and spa facilities plus wimming pool. High quality rooms, food of a high standard and professional staff mske for a pleasant time every time.

I loved my stay. The rooms were very nice and clean. The staff were polite and helpful. The Nelson residents bar served brilliant Fish and Chips. I'm looking forward to visiting again, it's a nice place to go to have a break from the children.

I'd stayed here previously with work and was really impressed. Lovely bedrooms and amazing food in the restaurant. So booked to stay again for a relaxing night away… The leisure facilities and spa were brilliant and the restaurant was fantastic. However, the hotel was busy and bad ops management meant that little consideration had been put in to planning where guests were placed into accommodation to ensure all could have enjoy without annoying each other. For instance, there was a wedding taking place with a group of children running around corridors, reception and the spa! From early afternoon until late at night. Top that with a Christmas party taking place in the conference room beneath us (until 1pm), a really bad shower pressure, terrible acoustics (could hear people walking around upstairs) our stay was far from relaxing. When I called reception to ask what could be done there was a quick apology but nothing offered to try and make us comfortable. Really disappointed : (

We recently stayed for my Daughters wedding and it was just perfect. The hotel although currently having building works is amazing. We stayed in a Superior room which was just gorgeous. The Wedding itself was fabulous, we were lucky as the weather was lovely, the venue, room setup, staff, food at both the wedding and in the Bistro is simply delicious. Big thanks to Gail, Alistair and all the staff for making this all so perfect. Nothing was too much trouble. We'll definitely be back.

The Grosvenor is so comfortable I take my fiancee there many Sundays for a carvery food is perfect and service is very good and the Guinness is perfect.

I stayed for 2 nights at the start of August 2014. I used the spa and had a milk bath and massage and used the pool. It was very clean and the staff were great. The gardens are stunning and the food was beautiful. I had a tuna stake which was cooked beautifully. The room was clean and spacious and the bathroom was lovely. My only negative is that the decor in the room was a bit dated but nothing dramatic and it didn't detract from our stay.

Staff is helpful. Hotel has all necessary stuff for pleasure. Spa, gym, steam,. Surroundings pleasant.

Really nice hotel if you plan to spend the night in the bar. Lovely place for an evening meal and the breakfast is great. However if you are under 40 and want to stay connected to the outside world, don't bother. No phone signal if your on Vodafone or O2 and I'm glad I don't have to pay for the Wi-Fi as I would demanding my money back! 900 ms plus ping and less than a 1mbs down load is woeful. Get your act together. As for the rooms considering the rooms are £160 they need an update. No better than a 10 year old travellodge. TV to small with limited channels, no HDMI so at least I could watch something off my pad and my pet hate for hotels NO MAINS SOCKETS AT THE SIDE OF THE BED! There is just no excuse for this. I will be coming back later this month despite its faults as the rest of the hotel more than makes up for it I will just come prepared next time.

Large free car park. Free in room Wi-Fi, with a good signal. Fantastic rooms, very clean and comfy. Great dining area with an ala carte menu or visit the pub bolted onto the hotel. A good choice at breakfast and fantastic staff. Well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Spent a short weekend break here. Very comfortable rooms and public areas. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food in Nelson's bar is excellent, not cheap but worth the money. Would definitely stay there again.
