Fantastic place to stay friendly staff allways ready to help with anything. Breakfast is first class plenty to choose from. And the evening meal is very good. A good choice of real ale.

Hotel is in a great location very central and within walking distance of everything. Staff here are amazing and so friendly, they were all really sweet with my kids. Breakfast is fantastic. Room was spotless and the view from our window was lovely. However… the bed felt like I was sleeping on a brick, pillows are so thin that we all needed 2 to be somewhat comfortable. It was not a good night's sleep at all.

My husband and I stay at spa hotels 5-6 times per year and without a doubt Mill House is by far one of the best. On arrival the staff were impeccably dressed and very very friendly and helpful. The Spa was immaculately clean with a beautifully lit pool. The jacuzzi was perfect in size and temperature as sometimes we find they are too cool/hot. The sauna was also perfect often they are heat damaged or too small. We ate in the main restaurant on our first night. This was beautiful. Decor is stunning, a motorized piano played creating lovely background music. The food was amazing. We both had a starter, I'd definitely recommend the melon, then a main of steak cooked just the way we asked followed by wonderful dessert. On the second night we had dinner on the barge. Well what can I say… The staff were brilliant, professional and courteous and the food again was impeccable. It's a gorgeous setting for 2.5 hour trip along the canal, we loved it. Our room was large, very clean, lovely big bathroom and a nice big bed. Breakfast was slightly limited compared to some places we have been only in the fact that you need to ask for mushrooms, there was no black pudding and only two juice choices. This in no way mars the experience, the staff are on fire. They do not miss a trick making sure you are not kept waiting, and cleaning your plates away in good time. Checking out was easy and quick and without fault.

We were really pleased with our stay here, it was for only one night unfortunatly. Everything was exceptional even down to the bar price and quality. Very highly recommended and we will definitely come again.

We stayed at The Mill Hotel for two nights. The staff on reception were exceptionally helpful, our room was very clean, modern and comfortable and the restaurant was very well stocked and again the staff were friendly and helpful. We visited the spa and used the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, again lovely facilities to have in a hotel and free for guests to use. The hotel is very close to the train station and to the centre of Chester. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Only dropped in for a drink with the better half. The bar is well staffed with comfortable seating. The beer was lovely. Only 1 snag… try ordering beer and a latte at the same time and you have to queue up to 2 different tills to pay for each drink that you ordered from 2 separate people.

Loved it — good food, great staff, very convenient spa facilities and the location is fantastic. A special mention to the staff who go out of their way to help you. Keep it up. View from our room on south wing was nice too.

Excellent hotel and spa. The facilities are exactly how you would want them to be. No real bad points except the toilet paper dispenser in the bathroom is more like in a cheap public toilet and not of a nice hotel and the walls are paper thin, I could hear them fart in the room next door. There are 7 rooms with balconies overlooking the canal we were in 522 and if you can grab 1 of these rooms you'll enjoy the additional outdoor space, worth asking when booking as it improves your stay immeasurably.

Small, but fully functional gym room and the pool/sauna area is just right. Just a great little place for either a non-judgemental work out or a little R&R.

There for a party night… food was just average at best. Some people were annoyed that you can't go the bar yourself and had to get table service even though the bar is right there. So expect tips for the waiting on staff which were far and few between. The venue itself was ok and busy so a good atmosphere.

Lovely room and use of all facilities. Very nice check in staff on arrival who booked us restaurant that night. Lovely food with excellent service.

Great location near railway station and town centre. Nice pool and gym. Lovely breakfast reasonable price bar vet friendly and helpful staff. Room was basic (standard room) but you can upgrade. I would have give 5* but the room was so hot with heating off and couldn't open window as very busy road was just out side. Would Deffo stay again and up grade room next time.

Excelled hotel. Warm, cosy, very clean. Fab customer services from all staff. Situated in a great area regarding convenience of shops and historical area. Pretty setting on the canal. Food excellent. Easy parking. Can't wait to go back.

Clean, quiet, friendly highly popular Hotel, restaurant and bar adjacent to the canal and five minute walk to City Centre. Comfortable bar and restaurant offering variety of quality drinks, beers, snacks and main meals. The the mill hotel also has its own gym and Spa Centre with pool steam room and dry sauna open to non resident via members subs.

Was fab first time. However second time we were told we don't need book in the bar area however at night when we turned up there was tables reserved turns out for the band but had we have known this we would've booked in the restaurant because we were greated coldly by the gentleman waiter because we hadn't booked. The lady in the restaurant doing cocktails was fabulous though. We were kept up till past midnight by the noisy family next door we complained twice. I slipped and fell over because the bath was leaking at the bottom and the floor was soaking wet despite having a towel on the floor to catch the water. Complained on way out to have a half hearted I don't care sorry Terrible stay will not be returning back again.

Love the Mill. Cosy, relaxing and so reasonable this time of year. Very special meal on the barge with an hilarious host. Highly recommend it. Close to the shops and lovely christmas markets too.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and comfortable. Car park was busy due to the hotel restaurant but there was room in the overflow car park. Overall an excellent weekend's stay.

The Mill is the most convenient hotel I've visited for town centre shopping, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, bathrooms are just that, a bathroom not a shower room another reason why we like the hotel. Been going there 8 years now and improves each year with updating with one thing or another.

We have been coming here for the past 12 years. Excellent hotel in every way. We have never been disappointed. Friendly staff, good food and comfortable rooms especially Club Class.

Lovely hotel/spa. Great location. We enjoyed the barge trip from the hotel. Three hours on the boat with good food and drink. Recommended.

We stayed for 2 nights and were very impressed. Enjoyed a first class meal in the restaurant, the food being delicious and reasonably priced. All the staff were courteous, attentive and polite. Highly recommended.

Average UK hotel. Great stuff and great breakfast. Location is also nice, next to canal… Didn't visited SPA but from outside it looks good too. Rooms are fine bathroom not so great but clean and tidy.

Just stayed at the mill hotel found a nice atmosphere and all the staff were excellent. Only minor problems were only fried eggs were available at breakfast, a choice would be nice and the wardrobe door kept falling off. Overall worth another visit. Phil and Tracey.

Nice hotel in a good location with friendly staff. Down side is some rooms very pokey & hot. Ours was right next to dual carriageway so very little sleep with window open & too hot when closed.

Really great hotel. Staff brilliant. Very relaxing atmosphere in and around the hotel and in the spa.

Could not ask for more. Pool / spa very nice. B&B very good. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

My husband and I were celebrating our 47 wedding anniversary had great time danced the night away food great pity there wasn't more people there but for us fantastic well worth going back.

Love this hotel! Stayed here every year sometimes twice for the last 9 for the races. And our wedding anniversary staff fab rooms lovely carnt fault anything.

Nice hotel in a good location straddling the canal. Room was compact (business double) but was very clean and had everything you need. All the staff friendly, dinner and breakfast very nice. Well stocked bar with a decent choice of ales. Stayed several times and always my first choice when visiting Chester.

Efficient, friendly good quality hotel and spare. Located within walking distance of Chester city center. Free guests parking. Great spar, swimming pool and gym. Rooms adequate. Food was very good. Enjoyed greatly. Some evening entertainment for diners.

Great place in the heart of Chester. Good facilities. Friendly staff. What more could you want. We had a great time! Would recommend to anyone.

Looked lovely online but honestly hate it here. Corridors smell like a pub, business class room no better than standard. Not impressed at all.

Stayed at this hotel 19th /20th January 2016 meeting friends who had stayed previously years before. Hotel was well presented, reception appeared smart and modern, rooms very nice, bar meals good value and restaurant food excellent will definitely go back.

It was very nice. It is in Chester. Silver service was nice but could have been better. It's near a nice canal and you can go on a barge boat. Rooms nice. Tables laid well.

3.5 would have been better than 3 but didn't feel I could give it a 4. Good — position, food for both choice and quality, cleanliness, restaurant staff. Bedroom average size but let down by very small bathroom. Not so good — some intransigent staff, T&C's are cast in stone and you will conform or not stay. That I can take but not the way it was put across. Others answering an enquiry with attitude and at times a feeling in the hotel of organised chaos. To be fair the hotel was exceptionally busy so a bit of give there but no excuse for attitude when you are in a service industry.

Very average hotel, not worth the money. Food was very very average. Decor and stuff is from the eighties, kitch. Staff is not particularly nice. Cleaners started cleaning my room when I went downstairs for breakfast and had to wait outside until they finish. Situated quite far from the city centre compared to others but in a Nice canal location (except for derelict buildings and a motorway on the other side). Air con in the room was really old and gave out a funny smell when on. Will not stay there again.

Their attention to detail and speed if you need help is amazing. I have a serious food allergy. If food was bought in they wouldn't give it to me in case it had traces of tomato and they cooked food separate. When I had seizures which is common both times staff were with me in seconds calling paramedics. My bedroom was nice and my bed was very comfortable. The beauty spa do a fantastic luxury pedicure. The pool area was lovely. The only negative is the step into the jacuzzi is very deep and having got in I couldn't get out.
