Lovely people always. Best service given. Staff are so lovely. Social distancing excellent.

Just collected a roast turkey dinner for my elderly parent. Absolutely brilliant can’t fault it in anyway.

Me and my husband just had a wonderful sunday roast delivered with deserts, and it was delicious and we will definitely be ordering again, thank you to everyone wonderful service.

We’ve just had the most amazing takeaway 3 course meal!
We were so excited and were not disappointed.

I just took my grandad here for lunch on his 90th birthday. Food and service was fantastic. My grandad took a shine to one of the lovely waitresses and she was a lot of fun which made his day. I would definitely recommend.

Visited for the first time today. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. We all had a Carvery lunch and it was absolutely delicious, all fresh meat and goood selection of veg. Wou0ld thoroughly recommend the High Flyer.

Really tasty food with good size portions. Nice decor and very helpful staff. They even brought out a bowl of water for the two dogs we had with us.

Lovely restaurant, clean and very light and airey. Food was excellent. Staff so friendly will defo be back. Our waitress Menue went all out to attend our needs. Thank you.

First visit for many years. Very busy. Reservations a must! Took 1hr from our arrival until food. As long as you are not in a hurry, worth a visit. Wide choice. Big portions. Good quality food. Lovely carvery. Need more staff!

Popped in for an evening meal and ended up having a carvery roast dinner. The whole thing was delicious and the staff only added to the evening. I'm not much of a pudding person but managed a fantastic raspberry cheesecake. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Extremely unimpressed that your chefs have such a lack of communication between each other and knowledge of the recipes clearly printed on your menus. They served both my 5 year old son and myself (currently pregnant) chocolate fudge brownie sundaes (my sons being off of the children’s menu) soaked in brandy! My son had almost finished his fairly large portion by the time I tried mine. I could taste alcohol straight away and asked my husband to try it. To which he confirmed he could taste alcohol, so we asked the waiter, who asked the chef and then reassured us it didn’t have alcohol in. I tried some more and was sure it had it in, so passed it on to the hubby to eat. By which time my son, as I said had nearly finished his. Then the waiter returned to say that the sauce had brandy in it! He said the chef on shift wasn’t aware that the previous chef in before him had put brandy in that sauce. The brownies were soaked in brandy. It was obvious and very strong tasting. The waiter then confirmed that the dessert my son had eaten definitely had brandy in too… I know it’s not the waiters fault but he didn’t apologise and said it’s only a little. No remorse what so ever. I felt bad for the guy for being the messenger as it’s clearly the chefs fault but it annoyed us that he didn’t apologise! As I said me being pregnant and my son being 5 I didn’t want either of us consuming alcohol!

Very nice food only problem is sometimes the management can be a bit of a show off.

Really sorry to say but after a long day all we wanted was a hearty supper. What we got we really couldn’t eat. Luckily we didn’t have to argue about paying for it! Note to waiters. When you smoke go outside and shut the door and don’t breathe on customers. And I’m a smoker!

Very good service, but I ordered chicken and they served me veal. A little expensive, and confundidfon veal with chicken…

Great food, with quick and enthusiastic service. Bar staff almost seemed pleased to be presented with the challenge of creating something not on the menu. Would highly recommend asking the GM to make you a Rusty Nail, Manhattan or Negroni. Dude knows his stuff.

First went here as getting late and we wanted to find a carvery. One of the best carverys we have had and the service was excellent.

Had a works do here. Staff were polite and was reasonably priced too.

What a disappointment. The lukewarm soup should have been a warning sign. But the carvery! The meat was served on cold plates and the vegetables were barely warm and clearly undercooked. All this at Midday when everything should have been piping hot and ready to go. Very disappointing.

Been to the High Flyer quite a few times and have never been disappointed. Would recommend the carvery it's fabulous. The staff are efficient and friendly. Quite a few times I have been asked if I could recommend somewhere to eat always tell them the High Flyer. Its reasonably priced.

I would say definitely don't judge the place by the outside, the inside is adorable, nicely spaced out, clean, and a perfect atmosphere for a date night. The staff was attentive and the service was great. The carvery looked amazing, but we did order from the menu and the pies, ribs and pudding was brilliant. Healthy portions left us very satisfied. Next time we will have to try a starter and desert because they looked very tempting also.

Staff where lovely but can't say I was very impressed with food.

For my first visit I would give 5 star, but not for the last two visits. The food quality is kind of unstable even if you order the same thing. The deco is lovely and price is good value. There was a young female waitress, who gave us very unpleasant experience being very impolite and impatient. Manager should see it and improve the overall service and food quality.

The carvery was fantastic, decor is very nice, and the service was great too! Thoroughly recommended.

Since the refurb this a really nice place to eat and drink. Pleasantly surprised.

This was my first visit with my family since the update. We never ventured here before because of its bad reputation. Looks like The High Flyer is has a new lease of life. It's pretty amazing what had been done to the pub. The refurbishment is great and the staff are wonderful. From the chefs to the waiting staff. Our server Georgiana was particularly helpful and actually made our visit from a very good to a Great one. They had the regular menu and also the Carvery. The value is excellent and the food is various and plentiful. If someone is having food from the menu and others from the carvery they are timed together so no one is waiting whilst the others are waiting. I can wait to visit again.

Its changed a lot over the years but this is the best its been'!

The Carvery is fantastic and such value for money. Great service and such fun being able to choose from the meat in the Carvery. Good selection of wines and beers. All round this really makes a great place to go and eat in Ely. See you there for Sunday Lunch!

Just had a carvery meal and it couldn't have been better. Great food, nice decor and friendly, happy staff.

I'm at a loss why people are slating this pub. I have just taken my family there for a boxing day meal and we were so impressed. The staff were polite and professional, the food was to an excellent standard and superb value. The atmosphere was comfortable and clean and the service fast and efficient. A wonderful experience and I would recommend the High Flyer to anybody who wishes to be looked after in a fashion they expect from dining out.

Since refurbishment this is a great place to eat went here sat 5th Dec food five star refurbishment five-star and staff five star well done British pub.

Chef is very good, prices reasonable. Service can be a bit slow when busy, which is not very often these days unfortunately.

Great value! Food is great quality for pub grub! Definitely worth a visit.

My wife and I went to the high flyer on easter sunday for a carvery big mistake we went to the hot plate and my wife chose to have turkey two pieces were cut of a new crown that was sitting there this was the thin end off the crown just slightly bigger than a 50p when we asked if that is all you get we were told that all meat is weighed and you should receive 4oz this was more like 2oz we have been here before but it is definitely going down hill I think she must have weighed the plate as well as the meat we told her that this was well below standard and we left the staff couldn't care.

Great food, fantastic value, child freindly atmosphere and the staff were excellent.
