Good location if you’re arriving into Cambridge by train. Parking at the station is £25 overnight if you’re arriving by car. Excellent customer service throughout the hotel. We forgot to pack toothbrushes and toothpaste 🤦🏻‍♀️ but rang down to reception and they supplied them for us (no charge). Breakfast is ok and the facilities in the room are good — fridge, tea and coffee etc…

Just back from a one night stay, wine and dine deal. Room was lovely with a massive comfortable bed. Food was amazing, complimentary drinks — a nice bonus. All the staff were helpful and friendly. Good variety at breakfast, all very tasty. We throughly enjoyed every minute of our stay and will be back soon 😊 Thank you for a most enjoyable stay 👍

Bathroom with large shower and bed big enough for 4 ppl only thing is it’s so high I have to climb on a chair ha ha.

Unable to check in for 2 days. Unable to make contact with hotel fir 2 days. On arrival unable to check in. Guests waiting for 3 hours. No refreshments offered. Appalling service.

I have had an amazing experience at the Clayton hotel the staff were very welcoming and very helpful, The waitress Geralyn we had was great at customer service and very well presented.
I would recommend for the restaurant that the public wear smart formal clothing. The room in the hotel was wonderful, The memory foam mattress was really comfortable and really good Quality. The bathroom is a lovely marble design and a very spacious walk in shower, I would definitely recommend going to the Clayton hotel.

Wonderful place and good ambiance staff and hosts are friendly. Good service too. Excellent place to stay as it was near to the train station, easy access to the city Center thru bus or by foot and surrounded by amenities.

Great hotel, great location. Very clean and very comfortable bed… also does a decent breakfast. All round a fantastic hotel!

Conveniently close to the train station, about 20-30 minutes walk from the centre of Cambridge. The hotel is lovely with spacious rooms and very comfortable beds. The gym is great and library/lounge is nice, however it is unclear whether you can use the coffee or tea machine. Staff was helpful. Only room cleaning was inconsistent.

Went for Afternoon Tea which was lovely, the interior was what made it special. Tim who was on the front door was AMAZING, giving myself and a friend a tour of the quirky bar/lounge area, telling us a bit about the Tamburlaine chain. I'll definitely be back on his recommendation of cocktails and Christmas party dinner. What an great employee you have!

I went for afternoon tea with friends using a voucher (£35 for two people). Had we paid the regular price we would have been very disappointed by the service and the food. It's definitely not worth the full price. The room is nice and service was friendly however they never came to check on us to see if we wanted or needed anything else and we had to go find them to request our bill. We asked for water and never got it either. The afternoon tea was served for two on one shared 3-tier service. The sandwhiches were very basic and fillings light. The scones were very small — mini scones served with enough clotted cream, jam and custard for 1 person — we had to ask for more. The desserts/cakes were were bite-sized but tasty. I would not go back there for afternoon tea, there are better places around and I certainly wouldn't pay full price.

Good for convenience to the station and MSR. New modern hotel has good service and the modern amenities. Large and quiet bar area, restaurant. Not really the kind of ambiance a visitor may want from Cambridge, but if you are on business or prefer modernity, this is your place.

I booked Afternoon Tea yesterday with a medium-sized group for a friend's surprise baby shower. I'd chosen the Tamburlaine because of its proximity to the station. We all had a wonderful experience in the Garden Room, and would highly recommend it. All the staff, from the man on the door to our servers, were excellent and helpful. At several points, the room was full, but staff were still happily bringing us extra drinks and making certain we didn't want for anything. I didn't catch her name, but the server with the pink fluffy pen was especially good. She went above and beyond for us. Thoughtfully boxing up the extra treats to take home was an especially nice touch. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the food, which was delicious. The variety of sandwiches and sweets was just right, with something for everyone. The scones were a good size for nibbling but not overwhelming, and really good with the homemade lemon curd. Because we were at a baby shower, we didn't have any bubbly, but looked with envy at those who indulged. We have plans to return and enjoy another tea!

The rooms are good, however the service during breakfast is completely under standard to any other hotels I have visited the staff have to be chased to deliver for any kind off consistent service, during the time I stayed here it was not busy they ran out of orange juice, had no lemons, when a substitute was suggested it was never delivered, given coffee no milk. Asked for milk the waiter clearing table attempts to give us the used milk, food in the breakfast buffet took longer time to be replenished. Very disappointed. Staff clearly need training very dismissive.

The hotel is a 2 minute walk from Cambridge station and very easy to find. We were a little worried that being so close to the train station might mean a less relaxing atmosphere, but the rooms are well insulated from any noise and the hotel doesn't run by the train tracks so this wasn't a problem. All of the staff were very attentive and happy to help. We mentioned in passing that it was a special occasion and the staff really went above and beyond to help make the occasion one to remember. The main attraction is the decor and detail of the hotel. Everything is well thought out and true to a theme. Not bland and boring at all. I've never really considered a hotel room "beautiful" but from the details of the furniture you can tell everything has been well thought out. My only note is that some parts of our stay were a little confusing. There are two desks when you enter the lobby and I was initially confused which one we were supposed to use to check in. Breakfast was included but there were prices on the menu which threw me. I think this may be because people other than guests come to use the facilities but I've never had these small confusions staying elsewhere so I'm not sure why. However, as noted above the staff were very attentive and noticed the moment I looked confused! Overall I would definitely recommend Tamburlaine and hope to stay there again in the future!

Quick check-in. Nice room with huge comfy bed and pillows. Breakfast was OK nothing special really. Good location near station but no parking makes it a little awkward.

Afternoon Tea. Impressive hotel and greetings by staff of on entry was very good. Bit vague by staff over booking because it was a voucher, and we were disappointed as we were seated on the sofa arrangement and not at a table like the rest of the guests. Food was 5* and looked delightful but the waitress did knock over 3 glasses of sparkling wine all over the table (tall glasses, very low table) which didn't help our experience although accidents do happen, handling could have been better. Bar staff, cocktails etc were excellent and very knowledgeable. Overall our review would say for the cost food definitely lived up to expectations, as did hotel and bar staff. As for waitress staff a work in progress. Would recommend but ask for a round table not the sofa (exile seating)

A lovely hotel, wonderfully decorated. We stayed in a standard room which was still a good size and a great shower. Everything is new here. Best part is the cocktail bar, friendly and knowledgeable bar staff. Located by the train station about 15-20 minutes from the city centre.

Went for Christmas meal with work. Food was nice and seemed good value. Staff seemed attentive but did get a few bits wrong with the wine ordered. Lovely cocktail made that wasn't on the menu. Made off the fly and it was really nice. My only real complaint was it wasn't very festive. I wouldn't expect this style of hotel to have gold 80s tinsel from corner to corner but there wasn't anything at all in the eating area. It can be still be done tastefully and minimalist and it just felt felt a little clinical and cold and unfestive.

Afternoon Tea here was a bit of a disappointment. The waitress was polite but forgot a couple of requests. The Tea choice is great if you like herbal teas, poor if you don't and there wasn't an offer of coffee instead. The sandwiches very average and the mini cakes & mousse were really not very nice. The morning room is pretty soul-less and the chairs weren't very comfy either. If I'd paid full price rather than the Travelzoo 2 for 1 I would have felt quite short changed.

I stayed at the Tamburlaine hotel with my partner for a weekend in late October. Overall very pleasant experience. Beautiful hotel, great design, close to the station. Staff is nice and helpful. Would recommend to anyone.

Very good hotel which can still improve in many ways. Breakfast is good but lacks options, and every time you want a glass of water or juice you have to ask the waiter. The rooms are top notch in both design and amenities. The 24 hours gym is very useful.

We stayed here for over two weeks while relocating to Cambridge. The hotel is fairly new, well located and appointed. The food and service is also good. However, the hotel staff is minimal, poorly trained and often fail to provide very basic services. Packages were often not delivered promptly. They do not have porters or doorman to assist arriving and spraying guests. If this was an economy hotel, this would make sense but The Tamburlaine is priced as a 4-5 star hotel and really fails on this point. The staff also don't have the ability to make decisions like discounted rates for long term stays such as ours. In sum, it is an OK hotel for a short stay if you don't require much service.

Hotel was very nice and exceptionally comfortable. Unfortunately the internet was broken during my stay, but I'll assume that is isolated. Nice location in Cambridge close to the station.

Visited for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Beautiful decor, wonderful welcome from all staff and delicious salmon and eggs to start my day. As a local, I love this hotel for food and drink visits.

Fairly new hotel, reception quick to book you in and was happy to give us a room before our actual arrival time. We had a fresher room which was lovely, the bed was so comfortable and huge. Cocktails are worth a try, the staff are friendly and happy. We had continental breakfast included which was always well replenished and a good variety.

Luxurious rooms and a good bar, steps from the train station. Breakfast is good, but there is no hot option as part of the buffet (though you can get hot food if you pay extra). A 20 minute walk to central Cambridge.

Probably the best hotel in Cambrige (as of June, 2017). Lovely atmosphere, excellent and professional service. Had a team meeting and both the room and other facilities were exactly what we needed on the day. Highly recommended and would visit again. Can't wait to try their afternoon tea.

Went for lunch and to have a look at this newly opened hotel. Lunch very nice but as restaurant was nearly empty I was disappointed that we had to ask several times for our drinks! Which arrived with food. Waitress had a dirty suit and blouse teething problems. It's the little details that make a 5 star hotel.

I just been in the bar and was great. Good atmosphere, classic cocktail bar decoration (which I like) and good drinks thanks to Danilo. Bit pricey but I will repeat for sure.

We went to the Garden Room at the Tamburlaine for Afternoon Tea. The room is nicely decorated (although the view from the windows as of May 2017 is of construction equipment). The Afternoon Tea was nicely presented and with the exception of one of the cakes, which was a bit on the dry side, everything was delicious. The service is very slow though and it seemed like we had to wait forever to signal that we wanted the bill, and then quite a bit longer for them to bring it to us.

Went for a work function. Really nice place with good food and cocktails. All the staff were really nice.

There were five of us ladies dining at Tamburlaine's restaurant on Thursday eve. The decor, the food and the service were all excellent. It was very quiet as I'm not sure this place has been advertised locally? Or how long it has been open? It is gorgeous and I think it will and should be a roaring success.
