Lovely meal for a 60th birthday party. Food was moderate but not awful. Pudding was delicious. Atmosphere and service was good.

Nice meals a good relaxed English pub feel and a beer garden, the room was fine in the main building, but a little stuffy with limited ventilation.

A lovely pub with a nice atmosphere. I've been twice now and had a really good meal on both occasions. Two outside seating areas to enjoy a sunny day. Wheelchair access is easy in the pub.

Bar staff were helpful and friendly. Nice place for a chat.

Came in for an afternoon tea, my friend has an allergy to certain foods so was given a separate plate, however she still reacted to the food she was given. Can only guess that the same cutting board or knife was used to prepare all of the food. Service was slow and we were the only group. Staff were very polite and food was good quality, but could have been better.

A very pleasant couple of pints in light and airy surroundings unlike the old Bird in Hand which was dark and gloomy but sold a wider range of beers!

What a great Sunday lunch! Never had better. Been here on a number of occasions now and I've not been disappointed. Lovely decor. Staff friendly and attentive. Would recommend.

Really lovely place with an open fire in the winter. The food is great and imaginative (the tagline was particularly yummy and vegetarian! ), but not cheap. The drinks are also pricier and the friend I went with was a little surprised to be charged for soda water.

Not as good since it has been taken over by a chain. Menu not as good as when in private hands.

First time back at the Bird in Hand for a while. Liked the 'refresh'. Breakfast was really nice.

What is the awful smell in the rooms. Well appointed and beautifully presented but a strange smell.

Ten of us met up here to celebtate my parents. 60th wedding anniversary. The rooms were beautifully clean, extremely comfortable and a great price. We warned the staff that as a family we tend to be quite loud when we all get together but they werent fazed and told us to have a goof time. The bar area was good and we all sat together easily for a drink when we arrived and indeed for coffee later that evening. The food was excellent and the choice impressive. The best part of the stay, other than seeing my family was the service. Each and everyone of the staff was polite, friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Thankyou to them alll. And as Arnie said "I'll be back"

Good food at reasonable prices, refurbished fairly recently. Knowledgeable, helpful staff. Large car park.

The food was good. The waitress was fine, however due to lack of staff we were left waiting constantly for drinks, food. This is a lack of good management.

Not been for some years. The food portions were a good size, the drink selection was good. Service was fast once ordered but a little slow once you had finished. Atmosphere was nice and decoration pretty good. All round well refurbished and friendly. Will come. Enjoy back.

What's not to love about a wadworth pub and hotel? Great beer and food, the premises have been lovingly refurbished. Well worth a visit.

Great place to stay in. I definitely would recommend it anyone who is considering a place to stay locally. It's very clean, beds are very comfortable and the staff are very friendly. The decor of the place is rare and has a warm feel about it.

Food was good when it finally arrived but served on cold plates. Service started well with drinks order being taken and delivered quickly, but went downhill from there. Over 40 minutes from main course being ordered to being served. They were not busy — about a third of the tables were in use. We had booked for 18:45 as we wanted to eat early. We didn't bother with dessert as it had already taken an hour and a half for a single course. They also need to check their electrics; the lights in the back part of the restaurant were flicking on and off annoyingly.

Excellent room, food and location. Very friendly, warm and welcoming hotel. I spend too much time in hotels, but would highly recommend the Bird in Hand for both business and pleasure.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay here. Couldn`t fault it. Staff were friendly, faultless. Breakfast was superb. Our room was comfy, spotlessly clean with everything we needed. Would stay here again. Thank you.

Fantastic place! A true find for us. There is plenty of parking. It looks to me that the restaurant and pub has been recently renovated. It looks great, very classy decor now. The folks running the place are very attentive, helpful and friendly. The food was good too, try the veggie risotto. Check out my photos on Google maps!

Bird in hand is a great country inn. Nice rooms that still have an authentic British countryside feel. Good restaurant with reasonable prices and a decent bar selection.

Lovely, modern room with a nice, comfortable bed. On a ground-floor room I'd expect more secure windows, though. Service was friendly. In the morning the kitchen was "broken" so no hot breakfast was available, which was slightly disappointing. On the whole, though, it was a decent place to stay and I'd be happy to stay there again.

Used to be great but it seems like they're on a cost cutting initiative. Less craft beers and a new chef that sacrifices food quality for ridiculous presentation. Still got a nice atmosphere though, just not add good as it used to be.

Attended an afternoon tea with 12 other guests on Sunday 22 March 2015. I was very dissappointed with the standard of the food and also the service provided. With regard to our party and the food, I feel that the portions were spread out to make it look more and my guess is the number of portions actually provided equated to about 8. The bread for the sandwiches was dry and the other items did not taste particularly fresh. The amount of cream and jam provide for the scones was pathetic, I get the same amount for two scones at my local in Mevagissey. We had to ask for both sugar and milk to be provided, a basic in my opinion to be put on the table without having to ask. When it did arrive we had one milk jug and 1 small sugar bowl between whole table. Given the cost, for what we received I feel very let down and short changed. Although we raised our concerns at the time of paying, they were not answred or dealt with to a satisfactory conclusion.
