We had a lovely 3 course meal today at The Green Man, the food was really lovely, plenty of it and very tasty. The young ladies that served us were extremely efficient and really welcoming. The dining room was nice and spacious with plenty of room between the table. All in all a very nice experience. We will certainly be visiting again.

Just had a really excellent meal. It was quiet probably down you people panicking over the covid 19 and cancelling. I will go again. Well worth the 40 mile drive to meet up with friends.
Even Wifey somehow managed a 3 course meal.

Food was superb, super fresh, chicken tenders were to die for and I've tasted some hunters chickens but this was by far the best I've had, the chicken was succulent and could tell everything was 100% perfectly cooked, quick service, the staff were so polite and and accommodating, I will definitely be coming here again and also making it our wedding venue 😀

We spent NYE here for the dinner & disco. Fantastic night, great music, delicious 3 course meal, and the staff were all fantastic. Perfect evening well done to all the staff.

Couldn't recommend this place enough. I've been coming here for at least 11 years. Until recently I lived in Dunstable but now Sandy. The food is amazing. My only grip is losing the play area. That along with the food was a major attraction to me. Each time I come my average is £50 for lunch and drinks. When the play area was there I'd average £120 still amazing for food just a shame of the missing play area as I now won't attend on a weekend.

My first visit last night with friends and have to say that everything seemed right from the start.

Mark and his team hosted our wedding reception here on 30th August food was fantastic and the whole team work really well together and made our day very memorable, if any one is thinking of using the green man for any form of function give these guys a call you won’t be disappointed, great food, great price and lovely people. Look forward to seeing you all soon.

Food was lovely, however despite telling the staff twice once on the pre order form and then at the table how I wanted my steak they still got it wrong. Drinks prices seemed to fluctuate during the meal? No satisfactory reply given, despite raising it

Overheard several other customers (not our party) raising concerns.

I have been here a few times now and each time I have left slightly disappointed. It’s a lovely setting but some of the staff could do with brushing up on their people skills. They don’t serve food to the very bottom of the garden which after sitting down there we could tell as the tables were neglected and dirty. One of the staff came all the way down to the bottom of the garden to tell us they don’t serve food down there and that she had left our meal on the patio. Surely if you had walked all the way down to tell us that then you could of brought the food instead of leaving it open for the flies? Also don’t ask the bar manager if they do bar tabs either, you won’t get a simple yes or a no and instead receive a reaction like you just asked for a free drink. She’ll then throw you dirty looks for the rest of the duration you’re there. After 3 visits here I have to say I won’t be going back. Stuff the location, it’s really not worth it.

When we got there, for what we thought would be a carvery, we were shown to a table only to find out it wasn't your normal carvery (help yourself). The meal we ordered (turkey roast dinner) was yummy but there wasn't much of it! It's a quaint pub but quite expensive for a 'carvery'! The downside is there isn't much parking (it was heaving on Sunday).

We called in on spec at 7.30 on a Sunday evening so it was good not to hear a familiar "kitchen's closing in xx minutes". I had a very tender lamb shank and my partner had the Sunday roast (beef). Both were of good value and taste. Only issues were they'd run out of Turkey, the dessert of the day and the lemon tart — but we were informed straight away. I wanted an espresso but I was then told the coffee machine was broken. These are a few minor niggles hence 4

My family arrived and booked 2rooms for 3 days. Only 1 towel for 2 people in a room. Breakfast meal was served cold on cold plates and the table wasn't cleared 30mins after breakfast was finished. Constantly looking for staff and when asked about bar snacks the waitress advised there was a Morrison's down the road. After asking the Manager himself for a 2nd towel, nothing appeared. Please think before you book in here, the reviews are probably written by friends and family.

Great place and lovely food, well prepared. A little slow with service but they were very busy. Nice staff. Good service and attention.

I stopped here overnight at the weekend. All of the staff I met were pleasant and friendly throughout. If you're a whisky drinker then Mark knows his stuff. Would definitely stop here again and happy to recommend 100%.

Really nice pub with fantastic food and a good selection of ales, beers and ciders on draught. Prices may seem a little high at first glance but I am pretty happy to say that it is more than acceptable for the quality of the food served here.

I went for lunch this week and I have to say what an amazing lunch deal menu. The food was exceptional the service was great. It was my first visit and I came back the next day as it was so good! This place is definitely a hidden gem and I can’t wait to go again.

Went for a friend's birthday. It was very good, food was well presented and served hot, as it should be. Pleasant staff and nice venue. All good.

Great experience at the Green Man for a Saturday night away. Room was very comfortable and clean. We had a lovely dinner on the Saturday evening, beautiful prawns to start and ribeye steak for main. Finished off on Sunday with a lovely roast dinner before heading home. Great value for money, couldn't ask for me. Will visit again. The staff couldn't be more helpful, +++++

Service very poor when checking in, didn’t know what they where doing and I seemed to be a problem. Service for the meal was great as it was a different person and also the food was good. Would have been five but first impressions not good.

Quality people food beers n rooms lovely location also so welcoming the staff and friendly big function rooms ideal wedding venue.

People are friendly but the coffee and hot chocolate my partner and I had were lukewarm and the hot chocolate was very bitter. Previously, they have been far better. Very disappointed.

I've stayed here many times & always rated it well, however a lot of changes have been made to reduce costs.
I didn't have an evening meal in the bar as there was no real healthy options.
Breakfast is now a buffet type affair but without beans & the only egg available was fried. No options for meat free sausages. Annie was as lovely as usual but I don't think I will stay there again.

Went to a family 40th. Great night out, tasty buffet and the management sorted a freshly cooked meal with no prior warning or request for my 8yr old son who is a coeliac. Thanks for the extra touch.

This is a wonderful bed and breakfast which I would highly recommend. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the service was first class. The breakfasts, which were included in the room price, were also excellent as was the service.

Celebrated my Nans 90th birthday here 8/4/17 for lunch.
The staff were helpful and really friendly. The food was outstanding (and the chips were the best I have had anywhere for a long time! ) Good food, fab staff and lovely place to visit. Food is average and the service is slow. I wouldn't rush back.

Went for dinner and drinks with friends. Staff were warm and friendly. Food took a while to be served and the food was quite salty — it was ok. At the end of our meal, the bill was incorrect and we had to spend some time going over it with staff. The pub is a lovely setting with open fires and a rustic feel. I think this may have been a 'one off' so I may try going there again.

An absolute shambles of a Christmas Day experience. Booked to eat at 2pm, still no Main by 4:15pm. Booked for 12 adults plus 3 children. Only got 11 starters (waited an hour or more for these)! Some ordered prawn and avocado starters… not an avocado in sight… apparently they'd run out despite preordering weeks in advance. Like I say, after a 2 hour 15 minute wait and us having to chase where our food was, we were finally served a main course… just those who ordered turkey. Raw Brussel sprouts, old dried out roast potatoes… anyone who'd ordered steak or duck got nothing… no children's meals delivered either. Our vegetarian guest (who brought her own substitute meat) received a couple of carrots and parsnips… no potatoes, veg, gravy, Yorkshire… literally a fist size portion of root veg yet they were still charging £60+ for the privilege! The young waiter staff, who should have been at home spending Christmas with their families, were dealing with an impossible situation. They were cannon fodder for angry customers (we were only one table of many) who were experiencing diabolical service, while the management and owner hid away. When challenged the management or senior staff were initially indignant and in some cases rude. There was no table service for drinks and between us we cleared away the empty glasses and plates as staff rarely waited our table. It was a complete sham. Our Christmas Day meal was ruined and we all left hungry.

It's got 2 roles. Gastro pub with good food but also has a contractors accommodation pub… simple and clean.

Poor service slow if any, no premium draught. Coal fire was nice but didn't make it worth the trip.

We went here tonight for our wedding anniversary. It was very busy when we arrived and the lovely waitress explained that there was a large party in the other dining room so there may be a small delay with food. We were seated straight away and ordered drinks and our food. Our food was brought to us within half an hour and was gorgeous. Our mains came straight after and was the best food I had had for a while. Staff were friendly and very attentive food was gorgeous. We will definitely be going back very soon.

We were in Room no 12 and it was very clean and modern The Green Man is in a lovely setting and a great place for meals and functions Just a few minor improvements to their service would be appreciated. Glasses and a bath mat in the bathroom, a small tray to make your tea on and a small bin in the room when making tea etc also a bottle of water would be nice. I also missed not having a full length mirror in the room. But would recommend it Cannot vouch for the outside accomadation as we were only there for 1 night. But were very pleased with our accommodation.

Went today for sunday dinner and left very dissapointed. Poor service and waited 45 minutes inbetween courses. Whilst tables around us were served first, pretty sure we was forgotten about! When finally arrived yorkshires were cold and veg shrivelled up. No salad with the burger and steak cooked wrong yorkshires replaced. Standard food at expensive prices. Shame because this used to be a good place to eat. Wont be going back here thats for sure!

We had a fabulous sunday lunch here today. The waitresses were not only polite and helpful, but neat, and smart which is good to see. The food was of a really high standard with plenty of fresh veg beautifully cooked. I could not find fault, and that is unusual for me! I have eaten in all the local venues and this was by far the best.

Very rude manager and bad service, would not recommend. If the manager is that rude, how do you think he treats his staff? Do not go!

Food ok (ish) but service a let down. Had Sunday roast, beef was under cooked and chewy, turkey was ok but on the whole 6/10. The big let down was the service. Our waitress served our meals and then disappeared outside. It took 30mins for someone to take our desert order and only after asking another waitress who was clearing tables and then the desert never arrived until after our party had had enough and decided to leave. Would we go back? NO as we know there are much better pubs serving better quality food with better service out there.
