YHA Borth Hotel

Lovely place to visit, 50 yards from the beach, sunset was amazing. Good cider selection too.

It is clean, friendly, well run, so close to the beach and they have a good selection of ciders in-house.

Noisest building I've ever been, we can sleep anywhere but couldn't get any sleep due to the poor structure of the edifice. You can get a room with sea view which helps to forget that painful experience. This is a yha so self explanatory for the other features.

Can't rate highly enough. Clean, well fitted but basic place. Staff are very helpful and accommodating, plus have really good local knowledge. It really is just 20m from the beach as well. The reception sells some great beers that you can enjoy while watching TV or relaxing with others. Tea and coffee are avail too make in the kitchenette all day. I came visiting for a day mid week and stayed in an 8 man room. Clean beds and room, decent shower, breakfast had lots of options. I'm really impressed with the place and will come here first if I'm visiting this beach again.

First time in a YHA & was very pleasantly surprised, was expecting v. Low quality & an unpleasant stay (was booked in by works office as I worked over a few days). Got to say I'd return no problem, the freedom you get with these places is excellent… Your own use of the kitchen & facilities with your own food, lounge, dining area, games area. Place was clean, v. Friendly, warm & relaxing, the bed was solo comfy too.

We have just had an amazing night with you guys! Rooms clean, made to feel extremely welcome. We will definitely be back for longer next time! The boys said thank you for the sweets x.

Thanks very much for an enjoyable Easter weekend, came here with the West Mids Walking Group and really enjoyed myself, clean, comfortable and good customer service, hope to come back soon.

Really nice family feel, rooms a bit tired but perfect when you have 2 boisterous boys in same room. Lovely beach just across the road.

Stayed as part of a St John Cymru Wales training course. Staff were absolutely wonderful. The location is great (even though the weather on our visit wasn't). The teaching rooms are spacious and perfect for training 20 people across the two rooms. Food was excellent and they were even happy for us to set up the dining area for a formal dinner the Cadets organised themselves.

Great hostel! Clean rooms, beds were ok with nice clean bedding. Food was excellent! Really well decorated and staff were fab.

Enjoyed our stay. Borth looks much better in the sunshine than the rain. The hostel manager John was welcoming and helpful.

A lovely location right on the seafront and only a short walk away from the railway station if you want to get into Aberystwyth. Friendly staff and clean rooms. The male dorm we stayed in had views of both the sea and the mountains behind. There's a telly room available downstairs if you want to spend an evening in the company of other guests.

UPDATE: I was back again for two nights, 19 and 20 June, so I could spend a day at Cors Dyfi. I can only add that the breakfast I had at the Hostel, before leaving for home, kept me going all the way to Shrewsbury Station. I’m a wildlife & nature lover, rambler and amateur photographer and Borth is ideal. My second visit was from 15th to 19th May 2017 and it keeps getting better. The Hosts are welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. Good people. This Edwardian house is full of character and kept spotlessly clean and in good repair. There is a well-equipped self-catering kitchen with tea, coffee and sugar provided. I don’t remember seeing this anywhere else. The lounge has some seriously comfortable furniture and a large-screen TV but, with the available views, a telly is not required IMHO. (I think the TV was only used by the Night Manager). The dining room is comfortable and roomy with nice furniture and sea views. My roomy, second-floor dormitory ran the full width of the building so you have sea-views and sunsets from one window and sunrises, salt marsh and distant mountains from the other. Toilets and shower rooms are kept well equipped and, like the rest of the Hostel, spotless. There is a bus stop outside the hostel and the Railway Station is only a 10-minute walk along the front. All this and Red Kites. Amazing!

Fantastic hostel. Awesome staff prepared to go above and beyond the call of duty to provide excellent service. Clean, well cared for spacious, good self catering facilities and spacious class/conference rooms.

Stayed at YHA Borth for two night and had a great stay! The owners made us feel very welcomed and the facilities were more than we expected. Will definitely be coming back :)

Excellent facilities, comfy beds. Kind staff and in a great location. Just set so you can walk onto the beach, nice rooms, very clean and fit for purpose. Would recommend to anybody.

Very friendly, allowed me to store my bike in a large room around the back. Good location and very helpful manager (didn't catch his name) many thanks highly recommend nice place to stay!

There's something special about this hostel, having the corner room with views of the rising sun and beach was just brilliant. Photos show view from Hostel looking towards the left — I was fortunate to get this shot.

We stayed at YHA Borth at the end of half-term. Although the hostel was busy it never felt crowded. The managers are the owners under the yha enterprise scheme; and the hostel seems very well managed. The breakfast in the morning was very good. With help yourself cereals, toast, fruit, tea and coffee. The cooked breakfast was cooked well and served from a counter. We had an on-suit room which was clean and tidy. So was the kitchen.

With such close proximity to the beach and places of interest to visit nearby, Borth YHA is an ideal family place to stay. The rooms are comfortable and quite spacious, ample toilets/showers with no queues despite being very busy. The kitchen was adequate, we were able to prepare most meals there and also made use of the excellent restuarant for breakfast and an evening meal. The staff are helpful, friendly and tolerant, nothing was too much trouble.
