Had a wonderful day at the ashburnham for my daughters wedding 14th may. Food was excellent and the staff were fantastic, thank you all for an amazing day.

Very friendly waitresses, helpful staff. Family friendly, lovely food.

I got married here in August 2019 and it was the most magical day ever hotel couldn't do enough for us and our guests food was out of this world would definitely recommend.

Excellent Sunday lunch as always — piping hot, tasty, good menu selection for starters and deserts and meat/vegetable options. It’s also excellent value for money. Lovely, relaxed atmosphere too… we enjoyed an afternoon in the conservatory after lunch with a bottle of wine. Highly recommended.

We got married here in October and we couldnt be happier with our choice of venue. Sue was amazing from the day we booked to the day we left. Everything was in order and nothing was too much trouble. The bar staff were great especially one guy (who I'm sorry I don't remember his name) made everyone laugh and made it even better. Thanks again.

Just had a wonderful afternoon tea as a works 'leaving do' and it was delicious. Lovely variety of sandwiches with two snacks and heaps of cakes. Good cup of tea, and they were happy to bring an extra tea bag when asked! Staff were friendly and attentive without hovering. Excellent, thank you.

Love this place the staff are excellent came back today to celebrate our first year wedding anniversary. The day of the wedding the manager and staff whent out of their way for us to make it special and a year on they are still doing it brilliant food lovely day but a lot less stressful than last year lol. But seriously keep the good work up guys love this place.

Ordered a dinner for my parents for fathers day. Was brilliant delivery service, friendly and delivered on time. The dinners were a good size and was cooked lovely. Would recommend.

Staff where friendly and very accommodating nice clean and tidy rooms, really enjoyed our two night stay there would definitely go back and recommend this place night porter Keith was was a great guy can't remember the other young chaps name that served us food but he was such a character I'd go back there just to chat with him very good at his job.

Had afternoon tea here today via a Groupon voucher and I can honestly its the cheapest afternoon tea ive had and was the best also, was worth every penny and very highly recommended, stunning food and super amazin service from the staff.

We had our wedding on valentine's day. It was an amazing day and night. The service we received was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel was great and very professional.

Best place in area by far for Sunday carvery, choice of meats, abundance of veg, fill your own plate and if you don’t want to sit in you can even get a takeaway Sunday dinner!
Evening meals also fabulous, steak nights are highly recommended too, really friendly, clean and spacious!

We had our wedding there last week. It was amazing from start to finish. Sue and all the staff where absolutely amazing nothing was to much for them, they did absolutely everything that they could for us. They decorated the room for us and it was absolutely beautiful.

Just celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary at the Ashburnham. The food was very tasty, reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend and will return.

We had our wedding here 30/03/19 and we couldn’t have asked for any better all the staff were amazing and went out of their way to make sure we had the best day ever, thanks to all of you and a massive thanks to Sue for all the help she went above and beyond, memories that will last forever xx.

I come here a lot it's quiet and very friendly foods great and the beds are huge and soft. There's a lovely beach not far as well. Highly recommend x.

I don't know where to start with thanking Sue and staff at the Ashburnham for an unforgettable day on Saturday for our wedding. From the moment we booked this venue a year ago until Saturday She has been there to help us through absolutely everything. Such a professional lady who was even helping with the food service and clearing away. Throughout the day talking to us and making sure we were happy with everything. I cannot recommend this venue enough. The day was so relaxed as we were able to use every room at our leisure. Food was beautiful and plenty of it. Nice range of food, & what I had was both plentiful & very tasty. Not the fastest service, but they did look a bit short-handed. All nice & clean inside, with plenty of parking space, but poor outside lighting (only from the streetlights on the road passing it) for getting back to your car.

Very pleasant, light and airy eating experience. Rather warm during the recent heatwave. Good parking facilities.

The only hotel in the area but stands up as a good place to stay and the food served is of very good standard, I would stay there again and it also has some lovely history.

Lovely carvery on a Sunday served all afternoon up till five. Only £10 a head plenty of seating even when busiest around one. Best to book but you'll always be seated if you just turn up on the hop.

Lovely food, lovely atmosphere, called in on a Saturday with the dog for information and was surprised to find we could eat in the garden with dog beside us. Food was really lovely. And good price 2. Meals for £12.

Good but they do need to put more money with new seating out side. Our experience in the hotel but let down badly with trying to get somewhere to sit. Come on get some more table and chairs and umbrellas.

I have stayed here only once but have visited the Ashburnham on other occasions for family wakes as always the staff are very friendly and the food and service is second to none. This hotel has a bit of history attached to it as Amelia Eharrt stayed there after her flight across the Atlantic solo. You can even stay in the same room as she did.

Just popped in for a quick lunch with a friend. Service was quick despite it being busy with another event. Food was served quickly and staff were very nice. Prices reasonable.

We had a family wedding at the Ashburnham hotel, it was a super venue, very hospitable and good food. Really friendly too.

Came here for a birthday meal. Had the Sunday carvery. Staff were nice, lovely bar area but the food carvery buffet was messy with food bits (not cleaned up) and the food wasn't hot. Should have complained really but did manage to eat all what was on my plate.

Would personally like to thank Sue and all the staff who worked on our wedding day on 16th September. A massive thank you for making it such a perfect day the place looked amazing, the food was gorgeous and everyone was well fed and watered by all the staff who were awesome everyone said how much they enjoyed and we certainly didn't want it to end, sue made everything run smoothly absolutely lovely lady I would highly recommend getting married there to everyone. Thanks again to the ashburnham we have the best memories of this hotel. Marie and Dean.

Was a wedding guest. The food and service was excellent. It was in a quiet but in a very good location as the beach was a short distance away and the little town was just as close.

Good location near to Bury Port. Friendly staff and a decent bar. Could do with a bit of a return but comfortable enough. Go for room 5 as my friends said the others were far too warm.

We can't fault the staff… can't do enough for you. & the food is first class… the ground floor is decorated to a high standard… the room we were in was clean & bed comfy but it needed updating… the downside was there was no lift & the stairs are very steep.

Went for steak night on Thursday 10th august and had ordered drinks and placed order for the mixed grill. Was then told that they had run out of mixed grills. Very surprised considering we arrived at 7.30pm and the place wasn't even busy. We settled up with the drinks and went elsewhere. Tip for Ashburnham. Don't advertise in your local paper for an event and then not order enough stock to cater for such event. It's a waste of your advertising budget and my time.

Arrived at 7:15 for steak night. Booked for the restaurant but got sat in the bar area so had to go to bar and order, hardly relaxing. Ordered mixed grill. Got drinks and sat down. 10 mins later waitress comes over to say they have run out of mixed grill so what would we like instead. Steak night only started a few hours ago and is on Thursday and Friday, how could they run out at 7:15 and have no alternative? Asked for an alternative dish and told that's extra and not part of deal. No offer of substitution for inconvenience. Rest of dishes over priced and mediocre so left. Poor service and no food!

Had lunch there today. Good food and great value for money. Very pleasant surroundings. Recommended.

The Ashburnham was my favourite place for a meal (even when they were catering for a wedding) until last Friday when my wife and I waited almost an hour for our meal which was liver and bacon but when it finally arrived it had no bacon (no big deal) but it had a very burnt taste, as if there had been a fire in the kitchen! It was not possible to eat it. Now I can't go there anymore.

I got married here in October 2013, and it was one of the worst decisions I ever made booking here. All thanks to one vindictive, snide horrible woman who runs the place. It all comes down to us using a third party to decorate the place instead of her. What should have been my wife's happiest day ever was made a nightmare by her constant nagging and harassment to her and my mother in law. (Unbelievably asking my wife "How long are the speeches going to be?! How would she know for god's sake. Also she was extremely rude to my Family and friends. The food was very nice but there were missing items from our plate which we were told we'd have. There was no champagne in our room as promised, and it was a terrible shower.

A very pleasant stay for my wife and I. We found the staff very friendly and welcoming and the room was clean and tidy and well supplied with tea and coffee etc. The decor was a little ragged in places but that did not detract from the overall quality. The food was excellent and both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals which were cooked quickly and extremely well. Our breakfast was also very good and generous in its portion. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would happily recommend this place even if you are not getting married! Good location too if you want to get I the beautiful burry port harbour and the amazing beach.

Got married here in July 2010, everything was amazing. The food was to very high standard as was the ceremony room and hotel suites.

I have been providing chocolate fountains at The Ashburnham Hotel for six years and I can fully recommend this hotel as a wedding venue as I have only heard brides speak very highly of the hotel and the service that they have been provided with. I have also stayed at the hotel as a guest and eaten many times in the restaurant and the food is simply delicious, especially the Sunday carvery. Book with confidence.
