The hotel in general is warn and poorly maintained for the prices they are asking. There was no atmosphere, and the bar that was I lay open one night had a TV going. I found it almost impossible to get the heating to work in my room. The bathroom had no ventilation or heated mirrors, so if you were second in the shower you could not see anything.

The interior is an absolute masterpiece! Friendly staff, great atmosphere. Love it.

A very welcoming hotel with friendly staff who always tries their best to give you the best service although quite tougher these days as they have fairly new staff.

This children loved Oggies afternoon tea, the staff were great with them and so accommodating.

We enjoyed an afternoon tea during stage 2 of lockdown and it was lovely. All the guidelines had been followed and we had a lovely afternoon. As always the Afternoon Tea was delicious and the service was great.

I arranged for an Afternoon Tea for a baby shower and it was excellent. Our waitress AnaMaria was so so lovely and attentive. The afternoon tea was outstanding and the room we were in felt so grand and was just a perfect touch. Will definitely be back. 5⭐️

Jazzuki too hot too sit in and enjoy, had to sit with just our legs in. Felt like I was being boiled alive.

Delightful Prosecco afternoon tea on the terrace, in the shade of the olive trees. Very friendly, professional staff and a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. My vegetarian daughter was also very well catered for! Highly recommended. ☺️

Had the most fantastic spa day at the OGH with afternoon tea. The executive chef Robert was incredibly attentive and came to check everything was perfect for us. As it was our first time there, he arranged for Julian the concierge to give us a tour of the hotel and gardens. It was a breath of fresh air to meet someone so passionate about their job.
Already planning my next visit, would highly recommend.

If I was able bodied this hotel is wonderful, but I'm with a person in a wheelchair and apart from lifts to each floor and a ramp to the dining room we can't really use any of the facilities we've paid £6, 000 for, even the dining room has only one table available to us, and there is a portable ramp to get down one high steps into the garden but there's three steps to manage not one, how much does it cost to put a ramp in? And we can't use the pool at all it's not accessible, our room while beautiful is totally impractical for our needs and the bed while very comfortable is to high for a disabled person, I definitely think this hotel needs to rethink the practicalities of being disabled, its not enough to be allowed into a place, it's like going in a sweet shop but not being able to have any sweets, ogh please don't take our money if you can't include us in everything it's not fare. In all fairness lovely as this hotel is it's best amenity is it's staff, they are wonderful and have been so helpful, above and beyond the call of duty, thank you to all of them.

Spa Day for two with treatment: When booking this 5 star spa experience I hoped for a lovely spa, which was up to date and easy to enjoy/ get to! Unfortunately, it did not live up to this expectation! My boyfriend and I travel around spas as a hobby and this one did not cut it facility wise. However, Sarah, who did my hour facial, was unbelievably great! Met us with a beaming smile, shook hands and made me feel very comfortable throughout! The facial was perfect — she listened to my requirements and even adapted the treatment when my skin became sensitive! She is a real asset to the team and is worth 5 stars reading customer service and welfare! This needs to be noticed and rewarded Sadly, I was very disappointed that the swimming pool (outdoors) is only accessible thought the hotel itself — including the restaurant!? Or outside on the street. I was extremely uncomfortable at this and hope to see changes. Sadly I did not have the flip flops — nor offered any — so I walked outside bare foot in my robe! The food was okay — but not amazing — had the cheese toasty — needs to be much smaller in portion!. However, yet again, your staff save you! They are so kind, not judgement even though we are young and very polite! Everyone who was working in the restaurant at 12:30 on the 9/8/18 must be rewarded immensely!

Our 13th year at this fantastic hotel. It's central location makes exploring St Peter Port easy. The staff are always polite and nothing is to much trouble.

Overall, my experience was great. Everyone at the hotel was wonderful and really helpful. Breakfast was great, and the views are really nice when having breakfast outside. Highly recommend.

We're told it's the best hotel in Guernsey and I'm sure it is but as we fell in love with OGH from day one we've not been elsewhere to stay on the island. From arrival to departure your every need is anticipated and supplied by wonderful staff who never fail to smile and for whom nothing is too much bother. Everyone is greeted like an old friend (and many are just that) and like us return year after year. Great accommodation, dining and leisure. Easy walk downhill into town and if you can't face the climb back it's only a couple of minutes by taxi.

Attractive and quiet. Food acceptable but not quite up to prices.

The brasserie… bar area and drinks looked great. I would love to be able to review them in more depth but we were led to a table, handed menus and forgotten about so left having waited for 25 minutes.

Without doubt my favourite hotel in the world. I love going back here everytime, though its mostly with work. The staff are utterly amazing and this alone makes you want to come back again and again. There is nothing that they wont or cant do for you. The hotel is beautifully decorated as are the rooms which ooze decadence and charm. And wonderfully appointed. Its ideally situated to explore St Peter Port. The restaurants are wonderful especially the Indian and breakfast is a tour de force. The only sad thing is when I have to leave. But then you count the days till when you come back. Just simply wonderful.

Excellent service, selection and quality. A great experience and somewhere that's definitely worth a visit if you're on Guernsey.

Posh place but food was not tasty and not original as you would expect in the hotel which claims to have 5 stars. There are definitely other great venues to be recommended on Guernsey, this one proved to be disappointing.

Nice place, friendly staff, good decor if a little colonial in style. Just be careful to ask for a price list before you order the wine ;)

Wonderful hotel, great location, excellent service.

It's easy to judge a hotel by images of exquisite decor and innovative food… but what these images can't express is the most important part… the soul of the hotel, and at the OGH, that would be the incredible, professional and attentive staff. I was in Guernsey for ten days, and had the opportunity of interacting with many of them, and I left Guernsey with wonderful food memories, great belly aching laughs and found some great new friends in the personal attention, honest respect and appreciation that these wonderful people generously share with you as a guest. To Andrew, Graham and David, and your teams in the front, and Kevin, Jarek and your team in the kitchen… thank you. Highly highly recommended.

Great food, great venue, great pianist… rubbish service in the restaurant! Took ages to be served at every step, which was a shame because everything else was so good.

Without doubt one of the best hotels we have stayed in anywhere in the world, OGH has an elegance reminiscent of bygone days without being in the least old-fashioned. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings, the food is excellent and the staff are superb, nothing is too much trouble — even dogs are allowed. This is definitely a place we shall return to.

Arguably the best hotel we've ever had the pleasure of staying in. The level of staff training is outstanding. The location is perfect for us being a short stroll down the hill into 'town'. I believe this hotel is on a par with the very best in London. Lot's of return visits now and looking forward to our next stay in a couple of weeks time!

Best place to be in Guernsey.

I think this is generally regarded as being _the_ hotel in Guernsey, so I was keen to stay here as part of our trip to the Channel Islands. I booked three nights here — the first two nights in a "Queen" room, and then our last night in a suite. I get the impression all the rooms are different, and perhaps we were just unlucky, but our first room was really very disappointing for the price. It was more expensive than anything we'd paid for during the rest of our time in the Channel Islands, but was smaller, the decor was fairly drab, and all the fittings looked really out of date. Having dragged our bags up the hill in the rain to get here I was not in the best of moods at this point. In their defense though, I think the hotel handled it well. I spoke to the duty manager and explained that, in essence, I didn't think the room was worth the price, and they offered to upgrade us for free for our second night. So we ended up in the suite for two nights rather than one. The suite was, as you might expect, towards the other end of the spectrum, and was very spacious, with two balconies and two bathrooms, and the decor and fittings were of a much higher standard. So in summary if you're prepared to splurge and go for one a suite it's a rather grand and impressive place to stay, but if you're going for one of the lower end rooms (which in my opinion were still fairly expensive) it's probably worth asking to see the room before committing.
