It’s very quite and peaceful. It’s older rooms but it’s cared for very well. The room we stayed in was a 3bedroom. We had 4 kids and 3 adults in the condo and was still very spacious. We all had felt very much at home and absolutely loved the resort. During our stay we took off during the day to enjoy the island but even just staying at the resort would of been enough for us as there is a good amount of stuff to do. In the future we definitely we be back. I highly recommend luana kai if your coming to hawaii.

Staff is always attentive and friendly to your needs. Pool and outdoor kitchen and grills always clean. Just remember no glass in the pool outdoor dining enclosure, for safety of all, they're very strict about this.

We stayed in b313 room great, well stocked dishes pots pans everything chairs umbrella ac TV but no cable it was good for me we played Scrabble lol clean we loved it so much im looking to re-book for feb 2021 mahalo god bless.

Absolutely amazing. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Condo was stocked with every possible item you could need. Great full outdoor kitchen at the pool area with 5 grills. Stunning views right from your own lanai, especially at sunset. Great beach just steps away. Very peaceful and private yet very close to tons of shopping, restaurants and bars. Beautiful complex. Well kept. Pretty tropical plants and trees. Ocean views. We stayed in B306. A/c in all areas. Comfortable beds. Beach style decor. Binoculars for whale watching. Robes for sitting on the lanai while drinking coffee. Thoughtful amenities. Amazing vacation.

The room is very cozy! The owners are so sweet. They let us borrow sunscreen that was reef safe and towels for our stay. And the location is convenient for shops and fresh fruit. Would definitely recommend to any traveler looking to relax.

We stayed in building B room 209. The room was clean, updated, and had a great balcony which overlooked the pool out to the ocean. I wouldn't recommend Luana Kai to someone looking for a resort experience, but for someone looking for a quiet, well situated condo it's great! I'd love to stay there again!

This resort is absolutely beautiful. Our room was clean and the staff went way above and beyond in terms of customer service. The pool area is very well maintained and never too crowded and the beach is just a few feet away. We saw dozens sea turtles each night, from the beach right behind our unit. It wasn't busy and loud like other tourist areas/resorts. Definitely the most peaceful, happy vacation we've had, even though Hurricane Lane threatened to hit while we were there.

We felt very comfortable. Very nice staff, well-kept facility, everything clean and at ten o'clock there is peace. The complex is close to the sea, but it has no sandy beach. The food has to be taken care of yourself — a car makes sense for this. We will go there again.

This was a great little gem. I would stay here again. The property was well maintained. The beach area is small; maybe 15 yards of sand and then the ocean. The beach was about a football field and 1/2 from our patio. Do there's a short walk to the beach.

We had an amazing view, and a very nice sand beach to enjoy. The amenities were good (make sure you have A/C if you're expecting it, though, as not all units have it). The location in reference to the rest of Maui was great! I highly recommend this condo!

Great central location to many beaches and activities. The beach front ocean view was beautiful-especially at sunset! Our kitchen was fully furnished which was super handy for making meals in our condo. I loved the outside porch and the center courtyard as well. Great place for a great price. Highly recommend!

We rented a Condo from a private owner on VRBO it was pretty nice and suited us well. Each of the condos varies greatly in their amenities and how up-to-date they are, so ask lot of questions. We did not spend countless hours lounging at the facilities but the pool was nice and the hot tub as well. It is a short walk to a decent beach that you can walk at least a mile in one direction. The facilities are close to shopping centers and eateries.

Extremely terrible. We checked in yesterday night 05/19/2018 and found out Air conditioning is not working. Leslie the site manager asked for 25$ per day for AC and we gave our credit card details for payment. The AC stopped working at 2 30 am and my kids woke up screaming. We had to checkout at 3 am after long call with Expedia. We received refund for rest of our stay. But now we have to check in to another resort at 4 30 am and pay huge chunk of money due to last moment reservation. Don't stay here even if they offer you for free. We were offered B 307.

I love this place it's in North Kihei which lot of people say is bunk, however it is reasonable price Oceanfront and beautiful views. It is centrally located and has very nice units. They're all individually owned, however most of them are very well kept. They have a nice pool jacuzzi and a beautiful place to barbecue every night. There is a refrigerator microwave sink dishwasher right at the pool area! Love the Luana Kai!

Love it! Been going to the Luana Kai since I was a child 25 years ago. Just went this April 2018 with my family of four. Stayed in two room since they were book full for the 12 day trip we planned. Worked out great! They made the transition so smooth. It was like starting a second vacation. Both rooms in C and D Buildings were great. We have had rooms with Garden and Ocean view, floors 1-3, Buildings A-D, loved all of them. My Dad favorite are the Ocean view room. He would start the day drinking his coffee every morning watching the sunrise slowly brighten the sky and listening to the waves on the beach. Sunsets are amazing here as always. Th Pool and Hot Tub are always a great way to relaxing the evening with the tiki torches lit on the pathway and around the pool area. They even have 6 BBQ with utensils for you to be able to BBQ your own meal. Mario and Leslie are always great to talk to about food, activities, and life on the island. We miss them dearly every time we leave.

Even the bad weather is good here, always warm and the birds chirping really make you feel apart of the nature here. It's a perfect getaway! The rooms are also huge and offer a washer and dryer which I think are a must now having them. Swimsuits don't clean them selves on vacation ha. Perfect getaway! And great service.

Great place to stay on a budget and for long periods of time. Stayed there 5 days in a 2 bed room. Beds were not that comfortable maybe need to replace the mattresses as well as the sofa bed mattress. Loved the dryer and washer in the unit. There was also a cooler, beach umbrellas, and beach chair. The front desk gives you beach towels. There was bars of soap and towels. Prepare to bring or buy shampoo and conditioner. Love the location to the beach, just walk across the lawn. Didn't go into the heated pool, just hopped into the ocean a few times.

Great deal, and great staff. I will honestly stay here again. We are currently staying here in room c109 the prices are incredible for what you are getting. And the staff remembers you! so many person touches. The location is awesome. Mario is a great guy. Their is a review out their saying Mario is horrible. Don't let that turn you away. Yes the place can use a little bit of work. But for the price and the type of caring staff. I am not going to complain at all while you stay here you get free calls to anywhere in the us and Canada! with your own phone number! you get your own wife. So your not sharing it! and a great fitting TV for the room. Everything you need is in these rooms. Including Tupperware. So stay here. Don't pay $600 a night some other place. Here. Stay here it's cheap enough you won't mind going to explore yet nice enough that you can relax worry free.

For the price you pay… And knowing it's a 3 star place. It's amazing value. Great room! Really large. Loft style with master bedroom upstairs and another room on main floor with 2 single beds. 2 full washrooms. And it's right on the beach! Free parking … They give you enough supply's in the room that not having maid service is not a problem at all.

Excellent place to stay in south Maui. Convenient to everything but just far enough away so you're totally relaxed. Great vibe — friendly, low key and comfortable. Everyone you meet staying here is happy!

I grew to really like this place. I started off on a vacation here. I liked the rooms but wasn't blown away. I have totally changed my tune as time went on. Private beach, tennis courts great kite boarding. They set the unit A104 with everything you need to start your vacation off — dishwasher pods, washing machine stuff etc. I also loved Kehei, I've stayed in a few places around Maui in this was refreshing, not overly fake like the more posh parts of the island.

This is a nice value for the money. It get 4 stars vs 5 only because it's not a 5 star property. I would stay here again and feel this is a very well priced place to stay. Having the beach out your back door is really nice too. I just amended this post. This place is perfect for a family of 4 we stayed in room A104. It was perfectly set up for the week. Enough towels, dishwasher pods, all that little stuff was here. They have a nice pool, a beach with no one on it — no waves and a bit windy but you are by yourself. A great week. Strongly recommend.

Stayed in good two bedroom two bathroom condo with lanai. A little dated interior but more than adequate for what we were looking for. Shopping just down the road, and bus stops either side of complex short walking distance away. Pool with great outdoor kitchen setup and bbq's in centre of complex and friendly staff.

Great condos for families. Has swimming pool, and access to private beach. Good management team. Let's you borrow books movies. We loved our stay there.

Great central location in Kihei. 2 bedroom condo works out great for a family and reasonably priced. Shared pool area with BBQs for all touse is a great benefit.

The sunset views were the nicest here. Very friendly staff. We found it to be a great value, very happy with our stay.

Horrible surprise to a couple celebrating 45 years of marriage: NO air conditioning (contrary to info on web-site) AND we were given a 3rd-floor walkup condo (read: no elevator) — — for an elderly couple, one of whom has a weak heart. The 2-bedroom condo was very "compact" and stifling when we arrived. Sweating profusely & upset, we approached the manager, who was not only unsympathetic but downright rude, offering no alternatives, and to add insult to injury, she said the fault is ours "for not researching our accommodations better, " then added as a parting shot as we were leaving, "Be prepared to dig deep in your wallet. " The good news: we found everything we could have wished for right next door, at the Kauhale Makai. Go there instead!

Mid range individually owned units. Only complaint, no A/C. Offered A/C for additional $25 per day. Otherwise, a nice unit.

Nice sized rooms, includes a kitchen and a balcony. Only a short walk down to the beach, terrific views from the rooms. There is a pool and a hot tub, with barbecues available at the pool for guest use. Free Wi-Fi is included.

Don't ever stay at this hotel, at any cost! I do not recommend to anyone to stay at this property. Dirty room, no A/C, ridiculously bad customer treatment. Read on for all the details. I booked a stay through Chase Ultimate Rewards at Luana Kai for September 6-10, 2017 (4 nights) and paid $732. Upon afternoon arrival (just after 3pm office closing) I was handed off my keys and assigned room (D-303). Upon entering the room, I noticed the reasonable homely amenities, the 4 fans blowing, and the _lack of A/C_ (temperature outside was near 90F). Lack of A/C was odd because I'd have noticed something like this when I booked it. After a lot of research to verify I wasn't crazy, turned out Luana Kai property listings are misleading at best, and different at the different providers. From what I discovered, in some listings, they say A/C costs $25 extra. Mine at Chase said nothing of the sort, hence the negative surprise. After the A/C fiasco, and a 12-hour flight, all I wanted was to drop off my bags and leave for a walk and dinner. Upon coming back, I started to notice _flying ants_ downstairs. I ignored the nuisance for a while, until it became apparent they bite and they are more than just one or two — room was infested with them. I checked the bedrooms, bathrooms, living room — they were everywhere — on wall, lamp shades, bedsheets, pillows, walls, everywhere. I tried reaching out staff through a phone number written on a sheet in the envelope, only to reach voicemail.

Affordable ocean front accommodations. Great pool area with hot tub, sauna, party kitchen, and bbqs.

Excellent! A104 is the best unit in the whole complex. 2 bd, 2 bath, full kitchen. Ground floor right onto a huge park and the beach. Air conditioned with great ceiling fans. Turned off air because fans were sufficient. Pool and surrounding facilities were perfect for barbeques! Sufficient parking. Easy check in.

It's a pretty cool little resort. Just steps away from the beach. The beach isn't always safe for swimming but good enough to wet ur feet and watch the sunset.

Can't find a better place! Very reasonable rates. Centrally located. All the amenities.

Nice view from ocean front condos. Conveniently located with short drives to many restaurants and grocery stores such as Safeway. Kids enjoyed the swimming pool which was kept clean. Poolside BBQs were a useful amenity.

Perfect spot for my family! We had a first floor ocean view which was so convenient. Family friendly, wide green spaces, nice pool. Centrally located and easy to get around. :)

This could be 4 stars if you have the right room, our room was old and not recently renovated. These units are owned by different owners who put them in a rental pool so some could be amazing and others in need of upgrade. The location is great if you are a kite surfer, there are better beaches in Kihei if you just want to sit at the beach. The water is very shallow but you are right on the beach. The Pool is small. There are community BBQ's which are nice but you might need to wait in line to use them.

Nice grounds and pool area. Tennis courts right on the ocean. Great for a week or a month. Very easy access to eats, shops, dinning and drinking. Cons — The ocean fronting the property is kinda funky because of seaweed sometimes. No room service or stuff like that. You won't need it. Enjoy.

Luana Kai was more than we expected! First off, the location is great! The condos themselves are average (they all vary) but we really had no complaints. For the price, we had a great little place to settle for the day and it came equipped with everything you could think of. The kitchen was well stocked and the convenience of the in-condo washer/dryer was great. There was also plenty of toys for the pool and the beaches, which was also nice! The grounds at Luana Kai are absolutely amazing! We usually spent most mornings at the beach but always spent the afternoons at the pool once the winds picked up. The pool area has an outdoor kitchen as well as many BBQ's and seating areas to enjoy a family dinner. There is also a shuffleboard located just outside of the pool area and tennis courts and putting green. And after a nice long day in the sun, sitting on the Lanai watching the sunsets is such a nice way to end the day. The staff at Luana Kai always exceed our expectations. We have created such wonderful family memories and plan to come back every year. Our family has stayed at Luana Kai 3 years in a row now and have our 4th trip booked. Last year my brother and his wife and their 3 kids joined us and will also be joining us again this year along with my sister-in-law's family. I think that says a lot right there. Tip: If you have little ones or have a tough time with stairs, book the ground floor level.

April 29, 2015 — Our first experience at Luana Kai was great!. Lucky for us our condo was newly renovated, clean & comfortable. The grounds were clean and well kept and we enjoyed the pool/hot tub/BBQ area. The office staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach to watch the sunset every night. The resort is a short drive away from the shops & restaurants, but it was quiet being away from the hustle and bustle. We will be back! Tracy & Darrin.

We have stayed at Luana Kai two times and are getting ready for a third. We love the location, the views from the lanai, and how close it is to the ocean. Can't wait to return.
