Beautiful place. Great location. Top top, service, close to good restaurants and places for drinks. DO NOT expect late night clubs here. It’s Kauai, not Waikiki. If you go to bed at about 9:00 or 10:00 like I do anyway, no problem. If you want to hang out until 2:00AM, go to Oahu.

It is our home away from home. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The Ukelele bar was a hit for my kids, big swimming pool, wonderful view of the Hanalei Bay, great and spacious tennis courts. Musical Entertainment at the Ukelele bar is an awesome addition, very relaxing and great for the soul. The grounds are well kept and clean.

We came here for a family vacation with my mom, sister and cousin. Had a blast. Kids love the waterfalls pool. Rooms are super spacious. We stayed in a 2b/2b with 3 lanais with the ocean view. Little lacking in kids activities or any activities. But we keep ourself busy with other things. Beach access is a golf cart ride away. Beautiful running trails. I ran 3 each day. Also, keep in mind resort fee are $20/night and $6 parking and expect another 14$ for taxes. Which is pretty standard nowadays. We would totally recommend this place.

We are timeshare shareholders at this resort. Over the past eight years, it has steadily improved and it looks and feels like a warm, welcoming, and enjoyable resort with activities in around the resort and across the island that are easily accessible.

Just spent a week there, first time as a timeshare owner. Loved it. My son (11) and I were in the pool every day. He loved getting a hot dog there. I was able to run every other day there. Fantastic people make the resort a home.

We will definitely be back to Hanalei Bay Resort. Easy access to beach, city, and awesome views. Beautiful grounds.

Kauai family fun — Hanalei Bay can’t be beat!

Beautiful, rather on the classier side on the island, which can have it's ups and downs, but overall a great experience.

Bathrooms located on beach, minimal parking. Calm waters. Very cloudy due to location on the island. Different sand compared to south and west Kauai.

Just returned home from an amazing week at HBR with my family. Jeni at the poolside rentals was absolutely delightful and so helpful to us as we tried to decide what to do. When I mentioned we were going to rent snorkel gear to go to Lydgate, she was concerned about visibility so called not one, but two people to verify how the visibility was! She gave us great advice and was just so, so friendly. Ryan and Dave (I think his hame was Dave! at the swim up bar were also so amazing and kind and patient. This being my first visit to any island, I was so happy with the amazing views, friendly staff, and beautiful little beach. Thank you! Can't wait to come back!

Nice beach with clean water.

The village as well as the beach are lovely. Small shops and restaurants line the main street. The beach is not very far away and you can practice surfing. In summer the waves are quite small. However, this is another story in the winter.

We have owned a vacation rental here for the past 16 years. We have been through the ups and downs of this place. By far GPX has been the best manager that we have hired. The upgrades are amazing! The swim-up ukulele bar is fantastic and the only swim up bar in all of Kauai! You cannot beat The View! We have the best on the whole island! And we don't have to pay the price of over $600 a night for a room for the Saint Regis. And we actually have a better View. What a phenomenal place and phenomenal staff! This is our home away from home.

This could possibly be the most beautiful place on the planet! The thing it is lacking is turquoise colored water.

Nice beach, fairly busy but not overly crowded. Parking lot was full so we parked on the street which didn't seem to be a problem. Only downsideof it was all the driftwood and sticks washed up on the sand. Don't know if it's always that way or if it was just an odd day. Overall still a good beach on the northshore of Kauai.

It was too bad the weather was overcast when we visited. But the beach is quite beautiful. The waves are pretty powerful and there were signs stating swimming was prohibited.

Fabulous staff soo friendly real Hawaiian atmosphere! No place like it, a pool that is spectacular! Jacuzzi better than you've ever seen! The new pool bar is the best anywhere! Happy Talk Lounge open and rockin it!

Great spot to try surfing!

Beautiful sandy beach. Perfect for swimming when the surf is below orange. We swam in it for about 10-15 minutes in Orange surf. It was challenging. The sand is very soft and feels great in the water. Great Crescent Bay like beach for children and families to play on.

Beautiful spot for my wedding, staff were very generous as well. We were only there for an hour or so from start to finish, but the view was incredible, and all of the staff that I spoke with were very helpful.

Overall this place is pretty good, it's just for the high class they are going for and what you expect, it's a little disappointing. The facilities and location are wonderful (albeit the open garage and back end that has garbage and toilets sitting out for all to see). The staff is very nice and helpful as well. There are really no food options besides an over crowded bar that's not apart of the resort though. The swim up pool bar does not work (or even open) and their restaurant was under construction. We also got no housekeeping over the e tire week we were there. The views from rooms are unmatched and the pool is amazing. Make sure to do all you can drink Mai Tai's on Mondays too! I feel if they could just clean up their act a bit more and put a little more effort into the resort and experience, they would be there. I wouldn't go back unless they changed a bit. So close, I hope they get their act together because it really is a great place.

Room (1557) is fantastic. The view is to die for! The concierge service us remarkable! The resort is top notch! The food at the bar is really good but had much than satisfactory service. The manager provided a free appetizer but that didn't make up for the excessive wait. My understanding is that the bar recently was remodeled from a fire. Hopefully they can get the kinks worked out.

The location was the huge selling point for us. Our view of Hanalei Bay is pretty awesome. But the condos are a bit dated. Good condition but if you're looking for a contemporary updated clean feel — and are not necessarily prioritizing a view — you may want to check out other condos in Princeville. Cheaper options are available too. Update: parking is horrendous, not well-planned at all. Spots are few (insufficient based on unit numbers, it seems) and open parking means we ended up walking 10 min to our car from our unit, on most days. Came back from dinner at Hanalei around 8:45PM and NO SPOT in parking lot. Front desk dispatched a guy on a golf cart who essentially had us double park, thereby congesting the lot even more. This is a huge lack in services.

The Happy Talk Lounge not only has an amazing view, but the most delicious food. From the best MaiTai I've tasted, to perfect Kalua Pork Sliders, to a wonderful Hawaiian pizza made with pineapple, ham, bacon, and house made spam, visiting this place is a must.

Fantastic resort. Bring your rackets for the tennis courts. Great view from our room's lanai.

We explored the grounds with some friends so nothing relating to staying there but what we saw was beautiful albeit much more cloudy than the south side of the island where we were at. If we go back to Kaua'i, Hanalei Bay may be something we would consider although again, it's tough to beat that sunny south.

Nice facilities. Did not enjoy having to walk along the back of the hotel reception building with the garbage to get to our suite from the parking lot. The partition between our suite and the one best two us dud not do a very good job of blocking out noise.

Very beautiful and relaxing. A little difficult to find but the seclusion makes the place great I suppose.

This is a very nice resort. It is on the North side of the island, which is the NICEST part of Kauai. The gardens and views are unbelievable and out of this world. We stayed in a beautiful and updated condo, which is owned by Summit Pacific. It was condo 9221 — for $150/night. We were there the first week of November and wish our stay was longer. If we come back to Kauai, we would definitely come back here. Yes, there is no restaurant at the resort currently, but it was fun to explore the nearby towns of Hanalei and Princeville for our food options. This resort is underrated, because it is definitely a great deal if you want to stay away from hotels, tourists, and kids.

We rented a lovely condo overlooking the bay. Walking distance to the beach, cute chickens running around the place. Within spitting distance of Ke' e Beach, beautiful waterfalls, and Hanalei, this was a great location. Would give 5 stars, but while the location is beautiful, and the rooms very nice, it is starting to show some age.

Great location with some really beautiful views and a private beach shared with the St. Regis. My only only complaint is that the walls were super thin and you could hear everything in the room next to us. Also, there was a mini kitchen but no sink so you have to wash the dishes in the bathroom sink… weird. Other than that we loved our stay here.

I rented a studio off of VRBO. I loved the studio. Three days into my trip the ice machine outside was out of service. When I tried to use the washing machine on property the machine ate my money. I would definitely rent the studio I stayed in again. It was perfect for a female on her own for a week. The grounds are lovely. They are currently working on rebuilding the restaurant and bar. That will be good for my next visit.

My wife and I spent a week here in Aug. 2015 as guests of owners so I can't comment on cost or value. I will say that all staff I met or observed were friendly and helpful. The grounds were well tended to everyday (carts, lawmmowers, leafblowers). The sound of gas powered carts are omnipresent as people and their stuff get hauled up and down this hilly resort. The 2 bedroom unit we were in had a very nice kitchen, modern bathrooms, A/C worked well, HD TV and Wifi, ceiling fans, and propane grills all worked fine. The pool area was well maintained and I have to give the place extra credit for MaiTai Mondays at poolside. The restaurant, which burned years ago, is still under very slow construction and no one seems in a hurry to get it up and running, which is a shame because it was a lovely spot for breakfast overlooking Hanalei Bay. It is a pretty, low key, relaxing place. Be prepared to walk up and down steep hills all day long as you go to the pool, your car, the beach, etc. Or bring lots of small bills to tip the cart drivers. We had a great time and heartily recommend it.

My wife and I came here for our 10 year anniversary. We decided to split up our trip and stay at a cottage for majority of our vacation. The cottage was amazing! We stayed at the Hanalei Bay Resort for the last two nights of our trip. The first night of our trip, the power went out for over four hours (started at 8:00 pm and didn't turn back on until 12:30 am). We were told by other guests that this happens almost all the time and that it takes awhile to get the power back on. Additionally, the other guests jokingly said that they tell everyone that there are candles and other safety material located under your sink… which there wasn't and weren't in any of the other guests rooms. We finally fell asleep with all the windows open and sleeping on top of our covers. The next day we were told that our building's Wi-Fi was disrupted and that it wouldn't be turning back on until two days later. When asked what the other options were for Wi-Fi, I was told that I could pay an additional fee for the business room located by the front lobby. Things not mentioned, poor poor room service. When we first arrived at 5:00 pm, there was a cleaning lady in our room spraying down the walls and the ceilings and continued to do so as we unpacked. Also, we asked for a couple more pillows and they never delivered them. We finally went up to the front lobby and got them.

We stayed in units 8233 and 8234 (connected) in June, 2015. There were 5 of us, and the units were advertised as sleeping 6-8. The view from the rooms was gorgeous of Hanalei Bay! We would never rent this unit again because: 1. There was air conditioning in the two bedrooms, but not in the common areas of living room, dining area and kitchen, and most importantly, in the sleeping loft. It was stifling, and people were unable to sleep in it. 2. The electricity went out twice in part of the units, but the breaker box is a locked, outside box, which we could not access. 3. The washing machine was hooked up wrong, so that the cold water wash was actually a scalding temperature. 4. The ceiling fan in one of the two bedrooms broke, and could not be fixed. 5. The large metal valance in one bedroom came crashing down at 4:00 a. M. This property is not well-maintained!

The service was absolutely horrible, you have to make sure you are not renting from a private owner or you will have no service from the hotel which was not explained to us. The employees are extremely rude also. I would not recommend to anyone to stay here. We stayed at the grand hyatt and it was so much better. This place reminds me of a motel 6 hotel. The rooms are small and have other people's stuffbinnthemstuff inthem.

Very relaxing. 1 bedroom suite perfect for two w/different sleeping arrangements. Views of the Nepali mountains are just as beautiful, if not more than the ocean. Short 10-min driven into Hanalie.

$200 USD/night main rooms w king bed did not have safe, mini bar, coffee maker, or even water glasses.

I fell in love that's all I have to say.

It is ok resort not great more for older generation or if you like very quiet place.
