Management was EXTREMELY rude when I called to check on my cancellation. My family & I always stay here when we come to visit. However, after speaking with “THE MANAGER” we will definitely NOT be using this facility again. We appreciate your lack of hospitality & professionalism. Your facility is an embarrassment to this town and you should be ashamed of all the people you ripped off due to cancellations during this time. Thank you! You would be better off pitching a tent than deal with the “management” at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Summersville, WV. Disrespectful is an understatement. So called “general manager” *working* the front desk was utterly rude. Extremely unprofessional. All around disgusting and disrespectful. One occurrence with her was more than enough. Save yourself the trouble… there is a Hampton Inn just across the highway.

Excellent place to stay very clean and affordable. Great breakfast plus bonus was a Keurig machine in the room. Great staff will definitely be staying here again next time im in town.

Just spent the weekend there and it’s by far one of the nicest places I’ve stayed. Staff was helpful, pool and hot tub was nice. Just an over all great experience.

It's one of the finest hotels I've ever had the pleasure of staying at. The staff was friendly and the service was amazing, and the room was immaculate. Definitely nothing to complain about here. I give it 5 stars.

Service is good and the showers are hot. The parking lot has plenty of light so it is easy to swap out overnight supplies at night. The only issue is that the hot tub has not worked in 3 years.

This hotel was Neat & Clean. Rooms were nice & up to date. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was included in the room. Breakfast was nice. Summersville lake & Canyon Rim centre are close-by. There is a Mexican restaurant front of hotel, which we went twice. Macdonald, Applebee’s etc are also next door.

This hotel is conveniently located. The interior is decent, good complimentary breakfast, and fairly clean rooms. During our stay, we had the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. That may have been just our room, but be cautious if that is an issue for you.

I love this hotel, when I'm in the area this is my hotel of choice. I was here last night and just booked a room, the staff is great, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the pool is nice. Definitely a fan, I'm shocked the rating is as low as it is. I've stayed here a lot and I've never had any issues like I have at other hotels. I travel a lot for work so believe me I've been to a lot of hotels.

Very nice, comfortable room, good breakfast. Not thrilled that some idiot guest allowed their nasty dog to run up and down the hall we were staying in. Won't be back because they allow dogs.

Awesome place to stay with a wonderful staff and management. They are very courteous, helpful and professional and serve a delicious breakfast with variety. The indoor pool, hot tub and weight/exercise room were also a delight. We will definitely be back to stay on our next visit to Summerville, West Virginia! Thank you for making us feel at home!

Constant door key trouble. My toilet would rock when you sit on it. Which caused it to leak around the bottom. The light in the shower is very dim, and no exhaust fan in my bathroom to pull out hot air. The bed might be fine for some it was to soft for me.

Nice family friendly hotel — great free buffet country breakfast. The room we had was clean, beds were comfortable, free Wi-Fi, staff was friendly, and the common areas were clean. Our room needed some updating. Example: the bathroom shower curtain needs to be replaced (rusted rings & curtain ripped off of some of them). That's the only reason I took off 1 star.

Stayed here for a night on our way to another destination. The rooms were clean and the mattresses were comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The free hot buffet breakfast was very good. I would definitely stay here again.

Ever heard “lipstick on the pig “? That sums it up. Rooms are terribly small, staff is rude, there’s no real pet area. We travel 2/3 of the year and we only stay at Laquinta. This experience may have us rethinking our hotel provider. Laquinta I get you want to expand, but buying dumps and disguising them as nice with a nice lobby isn’t enough to keep my business. Pictures online deceive!

This place is fantastic. Always smells nice and so clean. Great breakfast. Friendly workers! Repeat year after year.

Very nice hotel. Service at the desk was excellent. Traveling with our dogs and they accommodated out request of a first floor room near an exit Highly recommended.

When staying at this hotel it was with my husband and 2 children. The room was very clean. However, this hotel allows dogs and it was extremely loud. The dogs were not confined to area of the hotel. The rooms were all over. Across the hall from our room and above our room were dogs that barked the entire night. When walking past another room there was vicious barking and growling. The pool was clean but cold and the hot tub was not in working condition and was blocked off. Also the towel rack was empty.

Needed a room that would accommodate our dog as well and this was an excellent option. Rooms were updated and very clean. Comfortable beds. Free breakfast was a nice surprise. Not the usual mystery meat and pastries. Wide variety and it all tasted great. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again in the future if needed.

Our stay was very great. The shower could've been hotter. The breakfast buffet was AMAZING! The staff were awesome! If there was a problem, they were there to help with no questions asked. The kids LOVED the pool and the gym! We will be staying there again!

Room was cold when we got in. Decently clean. Comfy beds. Yummy breakfast! Pets stay free! :)

Front desk had to move my room assignment three separate times within 30 minutes of signing in due to the overall (terribly) poor shape of the first room, appalling lack of general cleanliness in the second, and both broken as well as disgusting restroom facilities in the third. Overpriced, uncomfortable, and poorly managed. Avoid if at all possible.

Asked for a non-smoking room, and was asked to sign the non-smoking agreement. Turned out the room (No 101) stank of tobacco smoke. Not short term. That room has been smoked in for months or years. I will never be back.

Sorry to have to say that this La Quinta is going down hill! We really liked the place back in March of 2017, but our recent visit was not good at all! We asked if we could check in early and we could not because they needed time to clean the room. So we were told we could come back anytime after an hour to check in. We ended up just visiting family till about 11pm that night when we finally checked in so there was plenty of time to clean our room, but it wasn't clean. There was left over vomit on the bathroom floor from someone previous and it reeked of urine and vomit. The carpet hadn't been vacuumed and there was debate on wether or not the bedding had been changed. So we called front desk and they did switch us to another another room, but said they would have to inspect the room we were in. They said they didn't have anyone available to do so at the time and they also had no housekeeping available either. So nothing was really done about the inconvenience. The room we moved too wasn't much better! Carpet had stuff smashed into it and had obviously not been vacuumed either, but at this point we didn't have time to move again with our 3 tired kids. They did nothing to rectify the situation and didn't even apologize. I was really surprised since our first visit was so nice. I wont be going back after this. If they keep going at this rate I can only imagine what it would be like a short time from now. We weren't the only ones unhappy either.

This hotel is located in a very transient area in a large strip mall. This matters as the traffic is quite heavy at all times of the day with a great deal of loitering in the parking lot in the evenings. It was loud most of the time both from the outside activities and The inside too as the room doors have an unusually large gap under the door. The ground security door on the North side of the building was inoperable so anyone could enter the hotel and walk right into the stairwell with access to the entire facility. The hot tub, the universal machine in the fitness center, and both dryers were out of order. The staff was largely helpful and did everything they could to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I would likely look for another place to stay.

I've like me some Quintas, especially when they're by the Denny's. Some of my Quinta stays over the years have been standouts, for price, or quality, or location… Or all three. This Quinta did in a pinch and the help at the desk was admirable, but this newish property was just alright. It's clean and not worn, for sure. Parking was a bit tight on the edge of a shopping park. For a family of six it was a bit pricey, and another brand could've had more efficient options, perhaps. Also: Sorry Kids, pool's closed. But again, it did in a pinch. And them Kids don't need MRSA — we did just fine without it.

I was impressed with the cleanliness. The breakfast wasn't bad at all. We had a room near the elevators and in between rooms belonging to the camps. I slept two hours. The curtains don't close so there was a lot of light inside as well. The Inn was full to the brim with campers. All polite and nice, but I wished they didn't knock to wake us up at 5am and every half an hour after.

Very disappointed with condition of stay. When you stay at a hotel (especially the most expensive in the area) you have certain expectations. I don't mind people having there pets but guest should be made aware if they're going to be in a room next to what sounded like half a dozen small dogs that like to start barking before the sun comes up. There was no working fan in our bathroom. The room door handle was loose and had to be jiggled to open the door. Only one elevator worked which led to being over crowded and long waits just to go up and down. The hot tub was down which would have been nice to know in advance. About the only good thing we thought about our stay was the breakfast. The food was decent and had a lot to choose from. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and next time we visit we will NOT be stay at La Quinta.

A GREAT room, friendly staff, no problems involving noise or anything in the room not working, easy entry, room-ready Direct TV, a nice indoor pool (the hot tub was not working because they were re-doing it), and perhaps the best free breakfast of anywhere we have ever stayed — overall, a great experience — we will stay there again and I would encourage others to as well!

Breakfast is great, liked that it is pet friendly (even though we didn't have our pet with us). Gym & hot tub were both closed (June 2017) — mentioned in previous reviews. Staff member didn't know what to do when they ran out of cots (they have air mattresses), and then brought a mattress pad instead of a comforter. Manager was much more competent — — and certainly was helpful. Tight fit for 5 people (but appreciate they allow it — — so many hotels max out at 4).

The people that work at the la quinta are very nice and considerate. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

The staff was very friendly and professional. Espically Autum, the front desk clerk. We absolutely loved her! The room was very clean and everything was neatly organized. The pool was clean and refreshing. And the breakfast was great. I would definitely return.

Stayed here on the way back from Tennessee. Staff was friendly, room was clean, and it had a nice pool. Overall good experience.

We love this place. Been a few times, and hope to go many more. Area is beautiful, and we spring for the small corner suites at the hotel. Awesome.

We got a suite and it was very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the jacuzzi tub! Was close to shopping, restaurants and the movie theater. We had a relaxing weekend getaway and would definitely go back. I love the décor at La Quinta too. It has some mid-century modern touches that I love.

Hotel was newly renovated and very clean. Room was clean, HVAC worked perfectly, and bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and breakfast was good.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Wonderful staff who saw we had a baby and set us up on the top floor to avoid disturbances from floors above. Great free Wi-Fi access, streamed video with no problem. Woke up too late to eat the free breakfast.

We (family of four) stayed here on a Sunday night into Monday afternoon December of 2015. The hotel was a little pricier than some of the others, but to us — — it was well worth it! The desk staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel was very clean and very well maintained. They had a very nice indoor pool and hot-tub that looked as if it had just been renovated. They had plenty of clean (pool) towels too. After a long road trip the kiddos has a lot of fun unwinding in the pool on Sunday night. Unlike many hotels that have an indoor pool, the hall carpet looked nice, well kept, and unstained. Since we got there later in the afternoon, I asked if they did late check-out. I was informed that they did, and they put us in for a 1:00 check out time. Not only did we not feel ANY pressure from the cleaning staff of, "When are you checking out? " I never even put up the "Do Not Disturb" sigh, and they still left us alone! Very, VERY NICE! The girls all had one last long swim before we got back on the road, which was really a nice perk. Now, before I go, I would be remiss if I did not mention their buffet breakfast. It was a full HOT breakfast with bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and egg omelets, biscuits, and gravy. They had a lot of other things like cold cereal, pastries, and waffles for folks with a bit of a sweeter tooth too. I saw a sigh that said the breakfast was a weekday thing, which I did find a bit odd.

We love LaQuinta and stay here whence we drive through on the way home for Christmas. The price is good, the rims are clean and they allow pets. What more can you say other than a good value.

Pool and hot tub were closed, no discount offered. Very noisy hotel. One couple was leaving at 5:30 am and there dig was tired up in there room barking the whole time. They were unapologetic and staff food not even try to intervene. Large group of volleyball players present. They had to redo card keys a few times. Staff was friendly but not really empowered to fix anything. Disappointed. Would not stay there again.

Rude staff who left my family stranded in the middle of the night with no place to stay and 800km from home. Despite making a reservation 6 weeks in advance and showing a confirmation email and #, they had no room for us. Seems they cancelled our reservation in error, yet no apology and took no responsibility. Interestingly, when I returned home I discovered that they did charge my credit card for the room anyway. Spent a week emailing Summerville management who ignored my request to be reimbursed. I finally had to call their head office in Texas who I guess will be sending me a reimbursement cheque in 3 or 4 weeks. I'm puzzled about why "management" in Summerville decided to drag it out and basically turn me off LaQuinta.

Staff is nice — — food is decent but they use a hotspot for their Wi-Fi and it barely loads. Why would that be a good decision for customers who are obviously traveling and need reliable Wi-Fi? Also, the frugal hotel uses directTV so even if it is sprinkling rain, there is no reception. Good thing I brought a book and have 4g on my phone. Also, I can hear way too much "action" from in the halls, if you get my drift. The walls are super thin…

Staff was excellent, the red haired girl who ran the front desk was super helpful. Rooms and hotel clean and modern.
