Day Two of our weekend getaway and exactly what we needed! A very stressful few weeks at work for my wife and I, and we found solace at the Inn and with its wonderful hosts, Stewart and Sarah. We stayed in the Woodshed room and watched the boats (and the world) pass by from our private patio. We read, walked Popham, slept, and ate the most amazing breakfasts presented by world-class chef Sarah and with perfectly prepared fresh roast dark coffee by Stu. Oh, and the homemade local sea-salt and chocolate cookies were decedent. Thank you for perfection and for allowing us to visit your little slice of heaven in Phippsburg.

A weekend I’ll never forget. It has so much romantic charm it was the perfect place to propose. To say the food is amazing is an understatement. It was extraordinary as well as the rooms and views. We’ll be back many times!

BOOK THE 1774 INN FOR YOUR WEDDING IMMEDIATELY! This past weekend my new wife and I had our wedding at the 1774 Inn. From the beginning of the planning through the week after our wedding John and Jackie could not have made our experience better. The home, the grounds and the hosts are quite possibly perfect. Situated perched on its huge rolling lawn above the Kennebec River, it truly is the perfect setting. We had around 100 guests and all of them told us personally that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. We would love to think it was because of the Bride and Groom, but I think really it was because of the location and the experience. Please don't hesitate to contact them about an event or even just a nice weekend stay. It will be the best decision you have ever made. We will be back as soon as we can. Beautiful place! The inn is so charming and welcoming with a wonderful English country feeling. The room, with a view of the water, was gorgeous and so comfortable. A truly classy place where everything is so tastefully done and the owners make you feel so welcome.

My husband and I spent our weeklong honeymoon at the 1774 Inn. It was a week of complete happiness and bliss. We were the first guests that stayed for an entire week and we would do it again in a heartbeat. The house is stunning with an elegant charm. You feel like you are in England, not New England. John and Jackie are fabulous! They are the sweetest people and will help you plan very fun days with lots to do including wonderful food. Hike to a beautiful beach with no one else on it, have the best lobster roll in all of New England, go to botanical gardens, Bath Iron Works, outlet shopping and more. If we could we would want to go back and spend time at the 1774 with John and Jackie every year. Simply fabulous. You won't regret it.

This Inn has everything you need to enjoy a Maine coastal experience. The style of the Inn itself is lovely with its authentic New England interior. The setting is gorgeous, a sprawling lawn on the Kennebec River. With binoculars you can see seals basking in the sun. It is a pleasure to enjoy the house and the site but there are also nearby beaches, a maritime musuem, downtown Bath and other coastal exploration. Most importantly, the owners are welcoming, hospitable, considerate and fun to talk to.
