I am the person who will call a manager and tell them when I’ve gotten great service. I always do surveys and provide as much, if not more positive reviews as negative. I’ve given it a week, but still feel strongly so here goes… We had two rooms and spent 4 nights here. We came in for the Marshall game from Atlanta and to visit family as we are from the area. We’ve even stayed here before with no issues. The rooms smelled awful.
The AC didn’t work well in either room.
We had 4 in each room and only given two towels each day and were told there were no towels because the hotel was sold out.
There were no cots.
There was no longer a hot tub that was still advertised.
The ice machine was broken.
The staff was always outside the main door smoking. (Maybe they should have been washing towels? )
People were sleeping in the lobby.
Guests were shirtless wondering around even eating breakfast.
There were several roaches.
The doors didn’t latch and we didn’t realize it for two days. Anyone could have come into our rooms while we were gone. The girl who did breakfast was kind and even brought out food earlier for us the day we were leaving. We won’t stay here again. For $1000 for two rooms I expect more. Our Bahamas cruise was only $1400 and included all of our food. When people stay in a hotel they want a safe, semi-comfortable, and clean room. We had none of those.

If I could give a zero stars I would. We have stayed at this specific hotel off and on for several years. This is by far the worst experience we have ever encountered with this hotel. We booked for 4 nights and the place has gone down hill. Our rooms smell horrible, the floor in the elevator has not been cleaned once since we have been here, the lack of cleanliness is overwhelming. We have been informed there are NO TOWELS cleaned for us to use. NONE! There were several guest down in the lobby asking for clean towels and all informed there were not enough towels for the number of guests currently booked at the hotel. Find another hotel that can offer you a cleaner experience with clean towels. We will not ever stay here again.

Rooms were clean. Staff was very nice and helpful. Pool area was clean. Breakfast was decent.

Very happy with our stay, the rooms were very clean & the pool was great. We just wish they had a laundry room due to getting caught in the rain on the motorcycles we needed to dry clothes.

Standard breakfast offering. Pool was open late. Really tight parking lot. Staff was friendly. Room was comfortable and clean.

Our family stopped here just for an overnight stay. We picked this hotel because it is dog friendly, however they put you in a "non smoking" room that smells musty and like smoke. The bathroom needs a little updating but the room was pretty clean. The breakfast was hot and good. I'd give four stars but a smokey smelling room is a big turn off for us when it advertises non smoking and even said newer room.

Hotel was nice and quiet. No major issues that I remember seeing. A good deal (at least on the night that we stayed). 4/5.

Small fridge 9. Work desk 10. Room had decent size restroom 11. No garden tub (small tub) 12. Breakfast is decent (the usual) 13. Has indoor pool 14. Pool water was salty (not sure why) 15. Parking lot is cramped. (no room for trailers) 16. Parking lot has no security cameras 17. Good location as far as stores and restaurants. Right across from mall. I’m not sure about crime. 18. No bed bugs or creepy crawlers I liked the room and I would stay again for the right price. I paid with my choice rewards points, but feel like I over paid for the room. I guess the location and the indoor pool is the justification for the price. I think $125 and under after taxes is a fair price. If you can get the room for $100, you are getting a steal. I would not pay over $125 except maybe on weekend, holiday, or local event.

As always a great room for a fair price. Clean rooms & friendly staff.

The rooms are clean. I had a great experience there.

Location was good. Wish their parking lot was a little bit bigger. We were hailing a trailer and the small parking lot made it almost impossible to be able to turn around in. (Only way one in/out) beds were really comfortable. Staff was nice and friendly. Breakfast the next morning was amazing.

We were quoted 95 dollars per night on the phone but once we checked in we were charged 95 the first night and 169 the second. When we complained, they said we should have read the paper when we checked in. Beware of their sneaky tactics. This is not right and they would not change it. Never staying here again.

Clean rooms. I booked through Expedia, and the staff got me in my room quickly and painlessly.

It was a vary nice I would highly recommend people here when they come to barboursville.

The staff was extremely friendly but the pictures on here are misleading, they no longer have a hot tub and they do not have a microwave or refrigerator in the room. Other than the pictures being misleading I enjoyed the stay.

Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They are always eager to help or even chat for a minute. Rooms are comfortable and clean. I stay often for business travel and would absolutely recommend this hotel.

The rooms were clean, but there wasn't enough staff. We couldn't get into our room till after three o'clock. There were no refrigerators or microwaves in the room, which is really helpful when traveling with children. The staff was nice and helpful though.

The hotel is on a good location for overnight guests. Near the highway and the mall. Not many restaurant/places were open late. The hotel was pretty clean but the carpets had a musty smell. The staffs were friendly and accomodating. Breakfast was okay.

Was an awesomely stay. Loved the pool and room. Decent breakfast. All you could ask for when electricity goes out for couple days at home.

This was a good comfortable hotel after a long days drive. I was told a price for two beds and made a face. The price dropped $20 and I took the room. The hotel had a pool and whirlpool. It was salt water. The only negative was the whirlpool has something in it that burned my eyes even with the Jets off. Excellent clean room. Great service. Near many shops and places to eat. Really good continental breakfast included. At night I found it a bit difficult to find the entrance. Have some patience you will find it.

I have read other peoples reviews. Bunch of crybabies. I would recommend this place. Very pet friendly! I have 2 dogs. There pet fee is a 1 time fee of $35. That is awesome. Not all rooms have fridge and microwave. Not a big deal. I've stayed here 3 times so far. This is my go to hotel when I'm in town visiting family. The pool is a salt water pool! I have never had a Problem with anything at this hotel. They are very friendly!

We checked in on Wednesday December 9 after an 8 hour car drive. Check was fast and easy. Once we got to our room it seemed clean until we opened the curtains. There were dead flies on the window sill and one on the curtain. My daughter noticed what looked like a big black bug on the ceiling above the tv. We went to call down to the front desk and found out the phone did not work. Got a busy signal when you lifted up the receiver. So I used my cell phone to call the front desk. Was told that the maintenance Tech was at lunch and he would fix when he got back. Also told them about the bugs. They said that they would send up somebody from maintenance/housekeeping to clean it up. Took them three hours to fix the phone. And maintenance/housekeeping NEVER came to clean up the bugs! Next day after housekeeping and came to straighten out room, the bugs were still there! Upon check out on Friday December 11. Told the front desk AGAIN about the bugs and she said she will have it taken care of. No apologies at all! So whoever gets room 325 you might want to make sure they cleaned up the bugs!

The hotel was nice but the quality varies from room to room. The last time we stayed at this location the bathroom looked all new and this time the bathroom was not very updated. Also the drain in the shower was clogged.

When I stayed at the comfort in it was horribly staffed. I was given the wrong room key, accused of not staying there, and was treated very rude. On top of that, when I got into my room out was trashed.

It was a decent hotel experience, it was a little too chilly inside the lobby, there's no mini fridge in the room we stayed in, the breakfast was alright but we were pretty much guaranteed hot water anytime we turned the faucet and shower on. Ice and vending machines are only on the first floor. Our card keys for the rooms were a little difficult to use, and other guests were having the same problem with their keys to. You had to slide the card slowly and in the right way to work. One of your employees was kind of enough to help us out with the key. When our toilet clogged one of the employees went out of his way and kindly unclogged the toilet for us and cleaned it. The biggest concern was the swimming pool. It was warm which felt fine and good but the water is murky and tastes like salt water, I don't know if that's suppose to be like that or its just because of how nasty it is. The sides of the pool just below the edges look to have some sort of greenish looking algae. Good service but avoid the pool.
