Great place to eat, have a drink and enjoy concerts on the lawn.

The flowers and plants are so beautiful. Rubys spa pool was really nice for a late night swim.

Saw an outdoor concert on the general admission lawn. Rained a little, sprinkled some, but it was still a great show and nice weather for the 2nd half. Can hear and see the performance from almost any position on the lawn. They allow each person to bring a beach towel and many sneaked in garbage bags to stay dry on the lawn, but not lawn blankets, which have a waterproof side. Why, esp if it's one lawn blanket per couple or family?

Don’t bother staying here if you want to celebrate. I had my bachelorette party here and my friends decorated the room using tape and confetti. I was charged a $200 cleaning fee. Everything else in the room was clean. The manager wouldn’t work with me at all. Never staying here again.

W. D. D go get one! It's Will's Delicious Drink at the black rabbit house. It's a blackberry vodka lemonade. Hands down my favorite drink out of all the bars. I really hope it sticks around!

So many things to do, fire pits at night are great. The spa pool is super. The food is great at the Black rabbit and the walking trails are super.

An amazing artistic 🎨 eclectic renovation of an old Debtors Ranch. It is a must see experience. Many enjoyable amenities like a 104° "Salt Bath" pool. The stillary, winery and brewery all on the same property.

The staff here are great. We enjoyed it immensely and our dog, Reno loved getting to tag along.

This is definitely an experience. Numerous separate bars, soaking pool, golfing etc. I recommend you take the time to grab a map, a drink (if you do) and explore.

Fantastic outdoor venue. I brought my 10 year old daughter to watch a show and it was perfect for her first concert.

We came here looking for a vineyard and we were blown away! We had no idea this awesome building housed so much! We ate the restaurant and it was an incredibly good meal. The composition of the dishes was soooo good. Tuna tartare, ribeye, halibut, key lime pie and midnight chocolate cake were outstanding. Beer brewed there was fantastic. Staff were excited to talk about the building’s history and the McMenamin empire. So glad we stopped!

Great place to unwind! Rooms are clean and cozy. The grounds are beautiful, and you can smell the Jasmine. We love sitting out under the trees with the lights and live music. The soaking tub is amazing.

They excel at providing the best possible customer experience to huge crowds day-in and day-out. Hearteously recommend.

We've stayed here many a time. Of all Mcmenamin's, it's definitely our favorite. There are so many things and places to discover, great eateries, and even better beverages. The pool is just the bee's knees. Highly recommended!

Besides having many things to do in order to completely relax and recharge the mental batteries, McMiniman's customer service is by far the best I've ever experienced. I'm very impressed with how much the employees pay attention to customers and the attention to detail of their jobs. All of our visits have been a superb experience.

This was our first overnight trip without the kids and it was amazing! Everything from great service and staff to the rooms, property and great places to stop and visit all over the grounds. We got our passports and now have a mission to collect all of our stamps from every McMenamins. We would recommend this place to anyone! Will be back next year!

I love this place! This is a historic "poor farm" tastefully made over into a hotel/brewery/restaurant/event center. There is a huge soaking pool, golf, concerts, and lots to see and do around here as well as good food and drinks. The cheerful staff are very helpful and there are occasional tours and tastings. Get a McMenamins Passport and discover their other locations as well.

Bring cash to concert events. When doing your passport, the Little Red Shed is unavailable if it's a concert night and you are not attending the concert. Plan accordingly. Decent place overall. Winery is great. Service in the restaurants is generally slow. It's basically an adult playground. Good for a getaway.

This is one of my favorite McMenamins locations to visit. I've attended work events as well as concerts and there's always something to do or see. It's a great place to visit for the day or stay overnight too. The property is huge — I love getting to wander from building to building and seeing what each bar/restaurant has to offer. There's a fun pitch and putt course, soaking pool, and other activities as well. Definitely recommend visiting on a weekday if possible since it'll be less crowded, but it shouldn't deter you from visiting on the weekends as well. Lots of parking available. Overall it's a great place to visit and just a short drive from Portland!

I love there beer and there golf course is fantastic but I would never recommend eating at one of their restaurants unless you have three hours to kill. We were told 10 to 15 minute wait at the restaurant, 45 minutes later we checked in and they seemed unconcerned. Now we're at famous Dave enjoy fantastic bbq, I wonder if they've called our name yet at edgefield. Oh well, I prefer bbq to average overpriced food anyday.

O… M… GOSH! do very little research into this place and you will fall in love with it. There is truly something for everyone (unless you just wanna keep sitting on your lazy a$$ and slowly killing yourself). There are several different places to eat, tons of attractions (like glass blowing, tours, wine, beer, or spirit tastings) and a LOT of history to learn about in a fun, happy environment. You owe it to yourself to see this amazing bit of history and culture (and seriously, get up and move around a bit, dang! ).

Edgefield has been my favorite McMenamins for many years. Grab a beer and walk around their many outside locations. Black rabbit restaurants is always a good choice. Jerry's Ice House on the back of the main building is one of the more chill bars on site. The Red Shed is surrounded by trees in offers limited drinks but great views in a cozy atmosphere. Power station has a walk-up bar for those of you not wanting to wait and provides a more casual dining experience then the black rabbit restaurant does. If you're looking for a romantic weekend Edgefield offers massages and a soaking pool. Plenty of rooms on site to spend a weekend. Concerts here are outside and are a great time. Can not recommend this place any higher. It is one of the best places to visit in the area and a must-see for anyone who is visiting Oregon.

Edgefield has several restaurant options. They also have a wine tasting room and bar. We went for a family dinner. We sat outside, no wait and the service was great. The food was amazing. We also caught an outdoor concert and tasted wines. We had the Syrah which is wonderful. They also a really fun gift shop and fun outdoor places to hang out. They have rocking chairs on outdoor porches which we really enjoyed.

Stopped in for dinner with the wife and boys at the Power Station Pub on our way home from camping at Oxbow. We had a short wait that was made enjoyable with a stroll through the adjacent garden. Dinner was good as was the beer. Glad they have several vegetarian options. It's a special place for my wife and I since it was where we got married. Changed a lot since then but in a good way. Recommended!

The amount of things to do at this location is crazy? Never golfed before but want to? They have two pitch and putt courses that are fun for any experience level! Also, tour their brewery, distillery AND winery! So many fun bars around this property and great food at the Power Station Pub. Definitely need to stop in at Jerry's Ice House and try some of the liquor flights they offer. So many cool things to do and I am planning on spending the night up there on the next visit!

I've been visiting Edgefield for a couple years now, for different occasions at various lengths. I've stayed overnight, I've gone for the day — I think I can say in full confidence that Edgefield is at its best as a day trip. Either a spa day, a wedding, a concert or a special event: The Poor Farm will set you up nicely for good time. Staying the night though? It's not my favorite historic hotel. The rooms, even the higher end ones, are in desperate need of updating. It's hotel cousins Grand Lodge and Anderson School are much, much better examples of what a McMenamins hotel should be.

My husband, grandsons and I came for the Vance Joy concert a day early. We stayed near by at the Best Western which was within walking distance to the concert. We got to the concert site around 4 and found the end of a longish line. At 4:30 the gates opened and the line moved quickly. We found seats in the middle. The concessions were well staffed and varied, so getting what you want quickly was fairly easy. Plenty of porta potties, so going to the restroom was quick! We rented chairs for $5 ($20 deposit). This too was fast and easy. After the concert which was 2 1/2 hours long including a 1/2 hour between front band and main act with a finale, but no encore. The place emptied quickly due to a well organized exit plan from the concert site and parking lots. On another note, we went to lunch the day before the concert at the outside grill. It was extremely slow. It took a 1/2 hour to get our drinks and another 1/2 hour for the food. The food was good though! The next day we tried to get something to eat after golfing, and gave up. Maybe the concert series is taking staff away?

3 of us ate at Black Rabbit restaurant. Seated quickly. Food (sandwiches and a salad) took 25 minutes. It was yummy (especially the salad and burger). Server forgot the iced tea. Then after the meal was almost over, she remembered. I said never mind, and she said she'd bring it but wouldn't charge me. Iced tea was on the bill. She kindly removed the charge. Overall, it is what I've come to expect from any McMenamins: Decent food, great ambiance, where the servers are really friendly, but the service is wildly mediocre.

We were there this weekend for the Avetta Bros concert… we were sponsored guests… ok great. We were shown where to go … lots of smiles from staff and helpful. Food was good… drinks were good… but we waited 3 hrs for this concert to start… was suppose to be at 7pm. We got there at 530… ok… security kept coming up standing next to my husband. Very obvious they were looking for someone… I made comment to husband at approximately 8pm that this concert wasnt gonna happen and I wanted to leave… security says its gonna start any minute… OK. At 845pm… someone came on stage and announced that the concert was cancelled… and only said that due to unfortunate events they had to postpone… OK… but when I get home I find out why… there was a man with a gun in the crowd and security cldnt find him… I was absolutely appalled that we sat there for 3 hrs while this was going on and no one knew… they shld have cancelled right away for everyone's safety… I understand not telling why. But u know the what if's keep coming into mind… u protected yourselves but us patrons were out in the open… uuugghhh. Dont feel it was handled very well. 1st timer and I was disappointed…

We've been coming to Edgefield for years to attend concerts and because we are from out of town, we stay at the hotel. I used to love Edgefield and was always so excited to return, but the service during concert weekends has gotten worse and worse. It takes forever to get waited on in the restaurants and bars and as patrons we're told "it's a concert weekend, sorry, we're busy". The Black Rabbit staff literally told us multiple times over this last weekend that the restaurant was on a limited to menu as it was a concert weekend and they didn't want to overwork the kitchen. Really? The staff at Edgefield are certainly aware of the uptick in business when it's a concert weekend because they use it as an excuse to justify their poor service and bad attitudes. Perhaps instead of complaining they should staff appropriately. We've literally spent thousands of dollars there over the years. We shouldn't be made to feel like a burden by the staff we're paying. I think we might be done with Edgefield. I at least need air conditioning to justify staying there and putting up with the smug and snotty staff.

The concert in the park was awesome — great spot, there was quality sound equipment and plenty of amenities (food tents, drinks, chair rentals, etc). We also had drinks at the bar on site (by the golf green), which were delicious and strong. ;) The only suggestions I have are geared toward the staff in the car, which seemed to be annoyed that there were so many people coming in as a result of the event. Additionally, some coverage (tents) or a line that wraps underneath the tree line or something of the like for concerts that are sold out would be awesome. Otherwise, we had an amazing time, people were super nice and the entire venue was beautiful.

This is a beautiful venue however it doesn't come without a price. The way that this event manages its parking is atrocious. People are funneled in through one lane. Getting out of this then you is even more painful than getting into this venue. I suppose the idea is to be as painfully slow as possible and getting people out so that I suppose the idea is to be as painfully slow as possible and getting people out so that people will come into their restaurants and bars and order food and drink however you can't even do that because they're are people overflowing out of every small business on the property. I left painfully slowly and starving. It almost wasn't worth it just because of all the stress getting in and out of this place. I suggest bringing your own food and leaving it in your car so that you're at least not starving while you're there. Good luck! You'll need it!

Edgefield is my favorite Mcmenamins location for many reasons. It has so many amenities and things to do. I could spend all day simply finding cozy reading nooks with gorgeous views of the beautiful grounds. But why would I do that when I can visit one of the many restaurants or bars and enjoy delicious food and drinks. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. It is as if they really do love working there (and I believe they do). The 3-par golf course is quaint and fun. The concerts are incredible and have an intimate feel. There's a day spa and a small pottery shop filled with art by local artisans. But my favorite place at Edgefield is the hot pool, surrounded by a myriad of vegetation, it feels like you are a million miles from anywhere. I definitely give this entire place my stamp of approval.

We went to Edgefield for a concert. The sound quality is surprisingly good for an outdoor venue. The drink prices at the venue are reasonable, considering. I didn't like that Lucky's (one of the many cool little bars in the complex) had significantly limited their menu options compared to previous visits. It also takes an inordinate amount of time to get out of the parking lot if you leave right after the music ends. In short: fun summer concert venue (I will definitely go back), but nowhere's perfect.

I came to attend a wedding, and was very impressed by the grounds. The room we had was extremely small, with only 1 bed. However, this is likely due to poor planning on the part of the groom. The grounds were beautiful, and there were lots of activities and bars. It was a beautiful wedding, and the event staff there was fantastic. I would love to go back as an overnight guest for a vacation.

Went to a show. We got there right as the opener was going on stage and what I can say is, if you're planning on setting up chairs and staying seated, you should definitely get there early. It was packed! I didn't care tho, I was in GA the whole night and loved it. The venue is outdoors and really cool, the sound was good too. The drinks are decent, prices are what you'd expect. There's more food variety than most venues in Portland offer, though it's not gourmet by any means. I like going here for shows and I had yet another great night there. Oh, also. Be prepared to wait in a very long line to get out of the parking lot. It took me an hour.

McMenamins Edgefield is seriously one of my favorite places to go! Not only is it a unique and adventurous place but the food and drink selection is phenomenal! Keep a look out at rotating selections and what’s in season. During the Spring and Summer it is absolutely gorgeous and budding with flowers, fruits, and vegetables. Aside from the main station they have other standalone bars throughout the area. Don’t forget to wave down the golf cart for a drink if your mini golfing also! Great place to relax and also show to your friends from out of town. Would recommend their Cajun Tater Tots!

Had a lovely dinner at the lodge. Our waiter was excellent. Then we went to an outside concert. Concert was great, venue staff was efficient & polite. Biggest problem was Mother Nature, unfortunately. It rained on & off all day but started raining harder around 6 pm when we were entering the show grounds. Rained for about an hour. Would have preferred it held off until the latter part of the show but… Enjoyed the show.

We started at the loading dock grill, an outside eating area where we had drinks that we're good and standard McMenamins food, which was good. We turn walked the beautiful grounds and stopped at Jerry's ice House which had an awesome atmosphere. After Jerry's we went to the pool hall in the basement which was awesome and had a few more drinks. Then we went the the concert, where check in was fast and getting through the lines to get food and drinks was short. The concert was well staffed and the show was awesome.

We went with friends and had a great experience. It was enjoyable to take our drinks out after dinner into the garden to enjoy the summer air. I would definitely go back next time I'm in town. The server was honest about the kitchen and certain menu items taking longer than expected and our party appreciated that. No one likes it when different dishes come out at different times.

Beautiful night to have dinner outside at the power station pub. We initially were told it would be a half hour wait for a table for 4 and ended up waiting over an hour. Luckily there are plenty of places to grab a drink and hang out so it didn't seem like a long wait. When we were finally seated the server let us know that ticket times were about an hour. It seems the kitchen was a little overwhelmed. The food was good and the atmosphere was great though so it was a good experience overall.

We went to see a band of music. It was really fun.

It is a very nice hotel, with a particular decoration and good spaces to share with family, friends or as a couple. There you can find good restaurants and bars. There is also a gift shop on site.

Dreamy. The grounds are full of trees, bushes, flowers, plants, etc. Just taking a simple stroll around Edgefield is refreshing. The buildings are interesting to look at, tour, or stay the night if you like. The food is good, happy hour is yummy. Always good beer on tap. A movie theater, hot tub/spa (hotel guests only) and glass blowing shop round this out. Oh, and golfing! While up there, visit the distillery, or winery. Never a dull moment. Concerts there are dreamy too. (I almost forgot to add — The random fire pits are great, and make the air smell oh so sweet)

Its all magic, it's all whimsical, its all fun and neat to see it all. The glass blowing shop is great. All the bars are good add the tater tots are relishing and yummier than ever. Beers, Hammerhead good, pales good, but the grapefruit beer is not so good. I didn't like it at all. The distillery tour is fun to see, but our guide seemed like he just knew the process but didn't really understand it. He did mention that he had only been in the distillery for a few months. Everything else was good, and fun. Keep up the weird goodness!

We happened upon McMenamins Edgefield by accident. We decided to investigate and were not disappointed. The main building is amazing with so much to see. The winery downstairs is awesome, the beer they brew is really good. Wish the brewery was open. We didn't try their distillery but just an excuse to go back to Oregon. The food is fantastic and the staff is really friendly and helpful. I would go back anytime. In fact we might plan a trip to Oregon around McMenamins. I guess they have a few different places. All seem unique and awesome. I highly recommend going here.

I stayed in the women's hostel here recently and really enjoyed my stay. I didn't know what to expect when staying at the hostel, but it exceeded my expectations. The room was large and very clean. Each person is assigned a bunk and a locker for their belongings, and there are quiet hours so it's easy to go to bed and not be disturbed. The staff is super helpful and accommodating. The price was great for a bed there and that also allows you to go to the soaking pool which was an absolute blast! Perfect place for a girls weekend!

The grounds at Edgefield are really pretty with a few great bars. The Ruby Spa and Golf course are nice. The service is the typical McMenamins slow, but there is a good selection of beer. The wine is good as well. The concert venue is excellent and usually well-priced. The movie theater is small and the projector had some issues when we were there, but the servers are nice.

Absolutely fascinating. The history of this property is so interesting. The paintings, sculptures, gardens and stone work add to the mystique. Every turn leads to another experience, another artifact and another bar; nine in total! This is an example of what makes Portland unique and memorable.

Definitely a must-see place. The restaurants have great food. If you're a Beer Drinker you'll love it here same with wine. And if you like little Executive 9-hole Golf Course definitely definitely make a reservation. Soaking pools are good hotel if you want to stay. Also great concert venue.

Amazing place for concerts. Bring a blanket or chairs and get there early to get your pick of spots. But honestly nearly every spot has a good view. There's a ton of food and drink options there so you can get there early to get good parking. Parking can be a hassle, especially after the concert, if you can find parking in the neighborhood, that's the easiest for getting in and out quick.

The Power Station theater is a great place to see action movies because the movie itself is loud and keeps your attention. We saw Hostiles (which is a phenomenal movie) here which I would not recommend. Due to the quiet, dramatic scenes you can hear all of the laughter and activity of other patrons coming and going through the doors. It became difficult to hear the movie at times.

This place has rooms, food, canteens, games, a re-slob, beers, and more. And presios are not expensive.

I wish I could live here. I never get bored. Bird watching in the spring is awesome. Herb garden is great. Hummingbirds are a plenty. Purple headed finches are also abundant in the spring. Beers are tasty. Late night fires and socializing is great.

Edgefield is the adult version of Disney. What it lacks in rides, it makes up for in ambiance and alcohol. There is a winery, a brewery and a distillery on site and numerous fun bars to enjoy, all with cool lighting and a sort of casual flair. It does have its share of lines though too, especially if you go on a holiday weekend so be prepared. The winery tasting area is very small so get there early if you want a table. They usually have music (not even counting their awesome summer concert series) and the food is always on point.

I love this place, the service is always quick and exceptional. I recommend it to anyone looking for a bar to go with their friends!

Edgefield is great! It has some of the issues that most McMenamins share (slightly overpriced, hit-and-miss service), but overall it's an enjoyable experience to spend a couple of nights. The pitch and put golf and the soaking pool are the real highlights, and both are excellent. The rooms are fine, but are definitely designed to encourage you to get out and explore the grounds (no TV, most have no private bathrooms, etc). Very fun place for adults!

We went to see a movie at the Power Station. The screen is a little small. We ordered cheeseburgers which were delicious and delivered just after the movie started. The condiments were upscale but located next to the screen. The seats are comfortable and assigned. The table/bar is a good distance from the seats. We enjoyed the experience and would recommend it as long as smaller screen would not be a distraction.

Everything we've come to expect from a McMenamins, and then some. This one has the usual great food, interesting and tasty drinks, and friendly service in the eateries as well as the comfortable, nicely appointed rooms in the main building, as one would expect. However, this branch of the popular chain of restaurants also has wonderful shops in the outbuildings. There is one where the glassware is being blown right in front of you for your enjoyment. There's a day spa so you can pamper yourself or a loved one, or both. There's a cute, one-of-a-kind bar in the midst of the colorful gardens. Then there are the beautiful, well kept gardens. And accessible from the gardens is the golf course with lovely views. Altogether a wonderful place to visit, dine, drink, or even spend the weekend.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at The Black Rabbit. The scallops were tender and cookies perfectly. The Dickens carolers stopped by out table for a couple of songs and made the evening special. Love their gift shop, as it is a step above most hotel gift shops. Great selection and mix of food, drink, souvenirs and local flair.

The service and food were both fantastic at Black rabbit. Our waiter was very attentive, always checking in on us. We were at our table for two and a half hours and we were never rushed. The carolers wandering around to each table was a great touch two days before Christmas!

I have been going to McMenamins for years but this is the first time I ever attended a Christmas party. It was lovely. The food and drink wonderful. The jazz band was a very nice touch. The room was very large to accommodate our employees and guests. And it was beautifully decorated.

The hotel itself is nice. Well kept and quirky. But if you want to have fun, plan on getting talked to at least once. They have rules eliminating basically anything that they don't sell. Want to party in your room? Noise complaint. Want to BYOB, not allowed. Want to bring your own guitar, not allowed. If the staff was more oriented towards a positive atmosphere, and less to upholding the multitude of rules, it would be a much better experience.

We had dinner at the Powerhouse Station at Edgefield and it was good. We had to send back one meal but the waitress brought is back a replacement quickly and took the entire entree off the tab. The chicken strips came out very dark, almost burnt and it seemed to be something to do with the batter. The waitress assured us that she spoke with the head chef and would get the recipe adjusted so they wouldn't come out as dark. Great service. Very busy on weekends!

This hotel is funky and fun. Don't expect a traditional hotel experience. Only a few rooms have attached bathrooms. Your room may have a single electrical outlet. The restaurant is good, and there are multiple bars. This place captures Portland in a nutshell.

There's a lot of interesting, unusual art all over. The Black Rabbit restaurant is fabulous. Best halibut I've ever had. Best hominy, too. The steak and the boar were also excellent. Great service, too.

Fabulous gem worth leaving Portland for! Start a night a definitely bring a bathing suit; Ruby's Spa with the outdoor, heated, soaking pool with walk to bar is a place to unwind. Hit dinner at the Black Rabbit, and breakfast, too. If you like specialty cocktails, be sure to visit both the Power Station and the Black Rabbit Bar as they have different and tasty options. If you want to try some wine, grab a flight or two at the a winery. There's a lot to do, or you can choose to do nothing and stop drink some coffee on a quiet porch. One thing is certain, though; there is something here for everyone.

We went on a Saturday night for happy hour and drinks. The awesome outdoor eating area is shut down for the fall and winter so we ate at the power station. Service was quick and food was hot when served. Cajun tots were far too salty though. Other locations season much better.

We ate dinner at the Power Station Pub. The wait staff was awesome. I ordered the Truffle Shuffle Pizza which was delicious. The drinks were great. After dinner we went to the Halloween party and was a little disappointed. They usually have tables in the back, which they didn't this year. Also, there wasn't a DJ between sets. No music at all. The property itself is great. Highly recommended. The party was a little boring.

Disneyland for grown-ups! Amazing pub food, delicious hard ciders and beers, gigantic heated soaking pool, spa, golf, winery, distillery, comfy relaxed atmosphere… what's not to love about this place? The hostels are great for a guys or girls night… the beds are very affordable and if you book far enough in advance you can basically reserve the whole room (depending on the size of your group). To eat, you must try the Cajun tots. If you like milkshakes, ask for a Terminator milkshake (chocolate milkshake with their house stout ale — so good)! For cocktails, it's tough to beat the green tea mojito served at the soaking pool bar or the maple stone sour at the distillery.

I like to call this place a playground for adults. Although kids are certainly welcome, Edgefield is a great place for adults to get away and have some fun. They have a large game room with billiards, shuffleboard, darts and pinball games, a pitch and putt golf course where you get a 3 iron and putting wedge, excellent food, wine and craft beer. The great part is if you want to extend your stay they have rooms you can reserve at really affordable prices. There is even a Zen wading pool and they host awesome concerts. If you haven't been and any of that sounds interesting, then you should. Definitely check it out.

In A Nutshell: -McMenamins Edgefield is a BIG property. -Edgefield has many bars, a big open field (for concerts), several buildings, a hotel, soaking pool, a small farm & probably a few other things I have yet to discover. -Don't be surprised to see people running around w/ a bathrobe on & alcoholic beverages in hand, this is normal ;) -There's a couple tiny sheds that have been converted to mini-bars, so check 'em out. -Order the blackberry cider! -My advice is that you need to check out Edgefield and the other McMenamins yourself b/c they are AWESOME! Overall, Oregonians know how to party & enjoy life no wonder why so many Californians are moving up there!

The venue and hotel were really, really lovely. I went for a Fleet Fox concert, but didn't stay overnight. The staff I did talk to while exploring the hotel were very friendly and guests seemed happy. I tried their black cat wine while watching the concert — it was VERY good. And their blackberry cider was also extremely tasty. Unfortunately with all the fires going on, I didn't enjoy the experience quite as much as I could have, but that's not the hotel's fault. Overall, gorgeous location, good drinks, nice staff. I'd love to be an overnight guest sometime to get the full experience.

We visit at least once a year and are always happy with the entire grounds. We prefer the rainy seasons due to the lack of crowds, but it's also fun in the summer. From the soaking pools to the pub games in the pub, I've spent days just discovering this place. It almost has amusement park status or maybe a holy site as far as my family is concerned. Favorite spot is he Black Rabbit for a quiet and scrumptious breakfast. Check out he gift shop before you go!

Went to the Power Station pub for dinner on my way back from camping at Oxbow. The beer and food was good, but the pizza we ordered for my son came from a second kitchen and was significantly later than the rest of our food. The manager did compensate by taking the pizza off our bill and giving us a free dessert, which was appreciated. Edgefield is a special place for my family because my wife and I were married there 10 years ago. We go back often for weekend getaways. It's a relaxing place to stroll around, and the outdoor hot mineral pool is especially nice.

I had lunch with my wife and niece with her husband. We walked through the beautiful grounds and had a great lunch and excellent beer. I loved the Terminator stout, and niece's hubby enjoyed the special ale. Waitress was very accommodating and suggested a great drink by mixing cider for my niece. Fish and chip were yummy and burgers were delicious, although my burger was lacking the heat (very wimpy jack cheese slice). All in all a great experience for my niece and hubby to take back to Phoenix.

This place is known for great concerts and their spa, but I've only ever been for dinner and to fill a growler. The dinner was a grilled cheese and butternut squash sandwich, which was amazing. I've been trying to recreate it for years. My wife loves the spa and comes gor concerts with her friends on the regular and loves it. I'd love to come to a show sometime too.

I love this place! They keep the grounds really clean and there are so many nooks and crannies to explore. My son stayed in the men's hostel once and found it nice and very affordable. The food is good and the servers are very friendly. Warning… it gets a bit buzy on the weekend in the summer so be patient and enjoy the atmosphere!

Great place for a good time. Food is always awesome at the power station. The environment is totally cool. It's like you're on a vacation far from home but your just outside the city. Beer is fantastic! The Ruby is the best know along side the terminator. They have an awesome down stairs game room with multiple pool tables, darts, shuffle board and pin ball. The spa is wonderful f what I hear. Haven't been myself. For just being minutes from the city, this is a must go to place. They also have a concert hall where they hold events. And a small golf course which is a par 3 I believe. I will definitely be coming back again and again!

Edgefield is a beautiful place. Every time I visit it's an enjoyable experience. I'm usually there for a concert. Their outdoor venue is fantastic for summer shows. Great beers, food, and vibes. The hotel is a great place to stay, with beautiful and unique paintings and murals throughout all the halls and rooms, and staying there gives you access to the soaking pool at the spa, which is the perfect way to end the day.

We went for the Garbage/Blondie concert. It was great! It was my first time at that venue. The lawn was excellent and had a nice slope for visibility. The sound was great, and there weren't any hiccups with equipment (that I noticed). The food and drinks were typical of McMenamins, and good. We explored the property after the concert to get our passports stamped. It's a very cool place. Lots of neat little bars. Service was some of the best I've ever had at a McMenamins. Everyone was very nice, and my friend and I were both made delicious cocktails. I want to go back sometime and stay at the hotel, and explore the rest of it!

My wife and I retired 3 years ago and moved to Troutdale in 2015. One of the first places we discovered was Edgefield! We started playing golf every Monday there. Golf, a Hammerhead for me, a cocktail for her, and lunch at the Power Station became a weekly outing for us! The golf courses are perfectly maintained and great for the whole family. They even have a beverage cart that cruises through both courses 7 days a week with your favorite Edgefield creations! I love this place! By the way, I now have a part time job there!

Day four of my vacation, and my girlfriend booked here for my birthday. Let me tell you, completely worth it! The staff here were friendly, the room we got was extremely spacious, and the feel of the whole place was great. We ate at one of the restaurants, and the food was delicious, and the beers brewed here were amazing. We also got the Beer 101, which got us two taster flights and a 64oz growler fill. Took a load off from a day of travelling by soaking in the hot tub which was relaxing, before calling it a night in our room Travelers, look no further, great food and drinks all without leaving property. Make sure to stop and take it all in.

I stayed for a couple nights in the women's hostel and had a pleasant experience. For the price, it was great. The bathrooms are all private units with a shower and toilet which is lovely. A bit of a walk to get to the baths, though. The bunks themselves are kind of old and make a lot of noise when you climb into them. So much that you'll wonder if it's going to collapse. The room for the women's hostel has twelve beds and very poor air circulation as the large room is shaped like an L with only one small window towards the front, but at the back it gets very dark if you prefer darkness for sleeping. But because of the darkness, people will always need to turn on the lights after dark which may disturb others. The perks of the hotel such as the soaking pool are available to those who stay in the hostel, which is great. Ample parking and an easy trip into Portland. Great location for those wishing to go for hikes in the parks. Downtown Troutdale is also adorable and not too far. The charm of the old building is also quite magical.

My experience Mcmenamins Edgefield was pretty good. The location is nice, kept clean and smells nice. The concert was well run and the service was great.

One of very unique McMenamins I've visited so far. Has a very relaxing atmosphere with interesting decor that makes you feel at home with a McMenamins twist. The place has everything from smoking house and live music to a spa. Definitely a neat place to even just walk around and grab a few drinks.

Went to power station bar and grill. Took a bit to get our drinks. Noticed a group of people that got seated after us get their drinks first. Took awhile for waitress to come take our food order. Got our food in a timely matter. Food was amazing. Drinks were amazing.

It's an amusement park for adults! Numerous venues including restaurants, bars, a distillery, and a winery. The property features a hotel that includes comfortable and unique suites as well as hostel arrangements. The entire place has the feel of a ski lodge with old wood architecture and fireplaces. Besides dining there is also a 20 hole par 3 golf course featuring a beer cart, a spa, and a single screen movie theater with new movies showing and food available.

Great location, but typical mcmenamins — poor quality food, mediocre beer, and abysmal service. One difference with Edgefield is the location — it's great. But that's reflected in the 40% higher prices for the same low quality food. Grab a beer, enjoy the ambiance, but go somewhere else for decent food.

My husband and I came here for a date night and it was a lot of fun. A lot of different areas/bars to check out and such a beautiful property. We had a lovely dinner at the black rabbit. The food was excellent and the service was superb. We will be back for golfing and to go to the theatre.

McMenamins Edgefield is the perfect place to spend a day of enjoyment. The hammerhead vegetarian burger offered at the loading dock is full of flavor. Have patience if you visit during peak hours, but it is worth the wait. Ruby's Spa soaking pool is the ideal place to relax. Large enough to find your own qiuet place, yet designed so you dont feel overwhelmed with a lot of activity from other visitors. I love that the pool is limited to visitors who are there for a service or an overnight guest. You can roam the grounds, visit the garden, pmay some golf or visit numerous drinking coves. There are many options that appeal to a wide variety of interests. Now is the time to visit this delightful destination.

Very cool spot to go for an afternoon. Fun to wander the campus, made up of the renovated buildings of an old sanitarium on a big, highly landscaped plot. Stopped in at several of the pubs, all with a different theme, and at one point wandered into a live glass-blowing demonstration. Will definitely go back, there is also a par three golf course and a hot spring spa that I want to check out. Parking seemed to be pretty limited, although there are more lots tucked away further into the campus, so there is definitely more than there seems to be. And if the line at the distillery is out the door, find one of the little four — table taverns to get a drink at first.

Great venue but it pretty much ends there. The food is greasy and mediocre. The beer is bland and sub par for NW craft brews. The wine is pretty good and the device is usually comically bad. Last few times it seemed as if the wait staff didn't realize we were there. I love staying there for the atmosphere, pool, soaking pool, movies, etc. But the beer and menu need a makeover and the staff needs help.

Edgefield is an amazing property with so much to see. A European style B&B with a winery, brewery, distillery, fine dining restaurant, and multiple pubs. Also gardens, art work throughout, and a small golf course. Great service every time we go.

I was about to click submit on the purchase of some concert tickets when I noticed the price magically went up almost $40. When are venues going to realize how incredibly irritating "tick fees" are for their customers? I call them to ask if I had to pay that fee at the counter and they said yes… of course. I asked what the fee was for and they said it's for security and all the costs of putting on the concert… what the h**l is the other $53 per ticket for then? If they want $63 for the tickets, just list them for $63 and do away with sneaking an extra $10/ticket in at the last minute! I love this venue but this BS is enough to make me start looking elsewhere.

Wonderful village of McMenamins locations. Wine tasting is a must and will get you tipsy on very little. Happy hour is from 3-6 and the menu is very reasonably priced. Cajun tots are fantastic. There's custom pottery at the halfway house, golf course, theatre, 101 degree soaking pool and little red shack to smoke and chill.

The host was incredibly kind and helpful, but unfortunately an hour long wait was way too long. Meanwhile, very few people are in black rabbit. But we had a toddler with us and wanted burgers, so black rabbit wasn't a good option. Besides, last time we went to black rabbit the vegans in the group struggled to find anything of substance that was enjoyable to eat. They could eat leaves and this yucky ravioli that was a very small portion (and that's coming from someone with a relatively very small appetite) and it was overpriced. Needless to say, we didn't stick around since there was no appropriate place to eat within a reasonable time.

Great place… but for how small it is it sure does get crowded easily. Friday nights are of course going to be busy. The power station restaurant is not very big though so there was a line pretty much out the door with people everywhere. It was stuffy and hot, and really loud. Same with the pool hall. But on a not crowded night this place is really laid back and fun.

I like much this place. It has many amenities such as: restaurants, bar, pool, sauna, you can try the different types of wine, and you you can be hosted there as well. The gardens so very romantic during the evenings. It is a ecslente the gar to go with your partner. In the nights can be very cold. I would recommend it to visitors and people who live in Portland for the same.

Spent the night at Edgefield for the first time. The check in staff was incredibly friendly and well knowledgeable with questions I had about the property. My husband and I got a massage at the spa and also when in the soaking pool. Could not have been more relaxed afterwards. Every staff member we came in contact with was incredibly friendly and helpful. Checked out a couple of the different bars, in the winery tour and a wine tasting got our passport stamps, and overall had a great time.

The winery tour was informative, the service in the pub was great and everyone working there was friendly. Nobody seemed annoyed when asked for a passport stamp, which I honestly didn't expect. We ran out of time, but will come back for some golf later in the year.

Went to eat the Saturday before Valentine's and the place was super busy, no surprise there. Still, it took about three hours between placing our name on the waitlist to finally paying the bill. Food was mediocre as well and the waiter rarely checked on us. Not the usual service that we've gotten at McMenamins before, but I'll attribute it to the holiday weekend and try again some other time.

I absolutely love this place. Excellent food and beer along with the historical setting. I never get tired of walking the property and studying the interior of the old hotel. Gorgeous place that has such an eerie feel to it. A lot swear it's haunted and I have never seen anything myself, but if a place has the potential to be, then this has it for sure. Enjoy it with a group of friends or a date night.

A great place that provides a fun and whimsical location that is full of history and story. Simple, but very nice rooms that provide free access (and robes! ) to the soaking pools. Breakfast can be delivered to bed if requested. During your stay you can soak in the atmosphere, relax at a study, or have a drink or meal at one of the many venues on site.

Trying to sleep at Edgefield was a nightmare for me. I am a light sleeper and in that old building you can hear absolutely everything that anyone nearby is doing. Other than that, the place is very nice. Good service and decent food.

Great beers. Service is always fairly slow at the Power Station, but everywhere else is usually pretty quick. Always a fun time walking around the campus. Shared bathrooms may be a turnoff for prospective hotel clients, but wasn't a problem for me. Would stay again!

This place is huge! Acres and acres of stuff to do and things to see. It was summertime when we went, so the weather was beautiful and sunny. They had multiple places to try beer, get some nice appetizers, try wine, cider, see their gardens, etc… I could go on and on. I would highly recommend this place for a concert, or to stay in the hotel, or just to get a quick bite and try some beer or wine!

Great place to spend a relaxing weekend. They have typical McMenamins pub fare in a few of the restaurants. If you're looking for something a little more formal, check out the black rabbit restaurant and bar. Be sure to stop by Ruby's spa and spend some time in the soaking pool!

During my may stay at Edgefield I had a great experience. The drinks were delicious, a coconut lemon drop and a rhubarb gin and tonic, the atmosphere was uncompaired! Dimly lit and warm and cozy, perfect for a fall night. Made for a great Saturday night.

My wife and I have been visiting McMenamins Edgefield as often as possible for the last 10 years. We were married there 7 years ago, and absolutely love the place. The grounds are great no matter the season. The restaurants and bars always provide prompt and exquisite service. Anyone looking for a good time with friends, or a nice romantic getaway with their significant other can't go wrong at the Edgefield.

Always enjoy strolling the grounds and buildings at Edgefield. So many sights to see and art work is everywhere when you take the time to look. The staff is friendly and helpful. As an example, when the film we wanted to watch was delayed, we were offered complimentary drinks and movie tickets. The only issue for us was the evening music performance in Wine Cellar. It was Way too loud (couldn’t hear the lyrics over the guitar). The performer was asked to increase the vocal level (which he did), but it just made the total volume louder.

The very best place to catch a show. Remember to bring cash for once you get inside the venue.

Edgefield is what I'd consider the "signature" McMenamin's property. It has everything that's fun for adults. Hotel, golf, wine/beer/spirits, bars, above average bar food, fancy restaurant, pool, darts, shuffleboard… oh, and a fantastic concert venue. It's a natural ampitheatre with plenty of "floor" space. Bring your own chair as long as it is LOW backed (such as a beach chair, NOT a camping chair). Good luck getting a hotel room the night of a concert. You often must book a year in advance, well before the concerts have been decided. Here's a friendly hint: search for 1 person for a hotel room and you may be able to snag a Hostel room. For ~$40 you can crash on property and use the amenities. Not a bad deal.

The variety of settings was diverse, from the cosy little corners to the large power station pub. The waiter at power station pub was working his first shift, and how adorable and accommodating he was! The rocking chairs on front porch of hotel added nice relaxing touch to our evening beautiful setting and so close to portland. It's a unique spot and a must see visit when coming to Portland. Possible sleepover.

Started going here with my partner after work on Monday evenings. Fell in love with the grounds the first time I was there. I'm constantly back there now whenever I get the chance. Food is so-so, but drinks are good and you can bring them wherever around the property. After a few visits, I started going to some of the other small bars on the property too, which have even more charm! I love the cigar room bar (or maybe it's more of a shack). Love to grab a drink with friends, then go sit out by the campfire they have right outside.

I love this place so much! Great atmosphere. It can get crowded at times. Keep that in mind if you're going during a special event.

Great place as long as you don't mind paying for broken car windows. We were robbed the night we arrived. The manager said "that never happens". An employee said it has happened three times since he started the previous month. The police officer said he's there all the time. McMenamins insurance company said they aren't responsible for paying for any of it ($180 to fix the window, not sure the cost of the random stuff taken from inside like chargers, pens, and a phone holder). Oh, one other note… there are cameras in the parking lot but they apparently don't actually point at the vehicles. This is a very bad area — though I love McMenamins in general I don't recommend staying at this property. Find one in a lower crime area.

I love this place I've spent many suer nights here for years it's always been a hit or miss though. Even as I am sitting here in the restaurant I have been ignored by the bartender and in the past had to wait for 20 minutes until someone even recognized my table.

Love this place, been going here for years for beer and fun golf with friends especially in the summer. This year I'll see what concerts are like at Edgefield :).

I usually LOVE this place until I was treated so poorly last night by a bartender named Lou in the distillery bar. Not only did I have to wait an inordinate about of time to be helped, he acted like I was a bother to be ordering a drink. I will NOT be back because of his lack of customer service skills. You should really look into who you have employed and how they treat your paying customers.

Decent food, decent staffing, beautiful decorum and comfy locations on site. Not to mention the location of my first ghostly experience, if you believe in that stuff. Ahh man this place was awesome. I miss it. Thats just my experience though.

Everything great except children in pool areas that should have been adult only I'm a parent and there's only the pool for children so take them to a water park not a bar.

I Love going over to the Edgefiled. I live in the neighborhood and go often. The community of folks who work there, are genuinely hospitiable, good natured and personable. I have always felt welcomed. The staff sets a relaxed and genuinely friendly atmosphere in order to unwind and relax and socialize. The food at the Black Rabbit is always excellent and the Power Station has great burgers. The fire pits are a great addition and the gardens are spectacular. I am so lucky to live so close.

This place is awesome. I'm not sure what the other people were complaining about, every time I've been there the staff has been awesome and the environment is really cool.

Go here if u want to get mad. The staff is horrible. The decorum doesn't make up for the fact that the staff is horrible. I will never return and I live a mile away. What a crap attitude for a crap menu. Save yourself the headache.

Ruff. As in I took a couple bites of my "cheesesteak" sandwich and decided I would not even give it to my dog. Stale untoasted bread, the vegetables were slimy and tasted off, and I could see the cook as he cooked it — he had to check how to make the sandwich numerous times. After 20 minutes, when the rest of the pub was empty (3pm) he finally got it under the heat lamp but forgot the frys — no big deal, they plan on forgotten frys by keeping a working stock of pre-fryed frys that can just be dunked in the oil for a few seconds so you get this nice unseasoned, oily mess. I have been many McMenamins and I don't expect much — they are the definition of mediocre, but I have had better food at Cass Co. Jail in North Dakota. I seriously had two bites and then waited ten minutes before someone showed up so I could ask for my check. Oh yeah — while the cook was borking this simple sandwich, I got to watch him stack the peppers and meat on top of the basting cover when he realized that he screwed something else up. The kitchen manager at this place should be fired for even hiring that guy. Because of this experience, I will never set foot inside of another McMenamins again.

Food was pretty okay, but sitting at the bar listening to the chefs continously repeat how they hate their job and they want to quit was kind of annoying.

What a crap hole. Halloween at McMenamins Edgefield 2014 SUCKS. Don't bother with the Black Rabbit Restaurant, 8 whole main dishes, $140 for two people, no potato, no soup, no salad, watered down drinks, the food was good, but a piece of Salmon on Kale for the whole meal?, no variety. Dance Party with 200 people with room to dance for 20, bought in advance tickets, no one directing folks to let preadvance ticket buyers in, didn't open the doors to let folks in till 8:15, it was cold rainy nite, you could see your breath, everyone standing around freezing till the doors open (everyone in light costumes, anticipating a good time and dance), no room to sit once you got in, the band is still fiddling with their instruments at 8:30, supposed to start at 8, wifes hair going to shit cause of the weather outside, $200 for our costumes, $50 for wifes hair do, $140. For the meal. Yeah, we had a great experience. We will NEVER go their again. If this culture, you can keep it. Most awful time weve had in years.

Spent weekend and went to concert. Room large, bad bed, hot, no air conditioning, no TV kind like an old farm house covered with wall paintings. Old elevator was suspect, use the stairs. Food was good at Black Rabbit for dinner, breakfast was not, probably a result of my entree selection. French toast looked great. Most everything is a little overpriced. Experience at concert was a disaster. I'm 60 years old, and was unable to purchase a glass of wine for my wife, because I didn't have ID with me. Grey hair, bald spot and the barely post pubescent server refused me service. I have children older than him. Told him I was staying at the hotel, but you can't leave the concert area and return. My room was less than 50 yards away. I complained to someone supposedly with authority a bespectacled cop wannabe (he had a radio, that made him extra special) and got the company line, I was livid. Do not expect professionalism, customer service or common sense and courtesy from the concert security force. They should all return to working at McDonald's under probation and close supervision. I was never carded at any of the other venues for obvious reasons. Take a look at my photo, do I look younger than 21? I will not return.

The wireless internet connectivity here SUCKS. The phone connection is also bad. It is like living in a digital desert. No fun at all. The only place the internet works in in the hotel office. How fun to sit in the busy office all day and all night just to use the internet — NOT.
