Beautiful old building, very comfortable, convenient location for tourists.

Nice cozy hotel. Feel like we are back in the 40’s.

Arrived after a long flight at 10 pm. Staff was polite and courteous. Sent us to a wonderful Restaurant across the street. Room is large and lovely, reminiscent of a time long gone.

The staff is congenial. The bed is comfortable. The maid service is excellent. The room is spacious. The food at the Tin Lizzie and Caffe Ladro is exceptional and delicious. A remarkable place to stay. The accessibility to all of Seattle’s tourist attractions is well suited to plans, activities, and needs.

Beautiful hotel, centrally located, walking distance to Space Needle and Seattle Center, comfortable beds s and very nice accommodating staff. I highly recommend this hotel. Building is over 100 yrs old and decor matches time period along with the music!

The prices are lower than other accommodations in the neighborhood and metro area, but there is a reason for that. Although his story, the building is lacking in many of the modern furnishings that American travelers might miss not having — steady Wi-Fi, quiet plumbing and floors, and a neighborhood free from a number of homeless people hanging around nearby at night. That being said, the staff tries their best and are outgoing, friendly, and helpful.

Location was accessible. Parking was fine! The hotel was lovely, all in all. The old Victorian style decor was neat. Breakfast could've had more variety as it was pretty basic (hard boiled eggs, sausages, loads of bread etc. )

The MarQueen is a charming, old renovated apartment building. We have been staying there since the early-2000s. The rooms are spacious and include a kitchen. The location is unbeatable on the heart of Queen Anna — and just a few blocks from Seattle Center. The staff is polite and very helpful. My only quibble is that the bathroom in our room needed significant maintenance. The tub looked bad and the glass shelf over the sink was ready to come off the wall.

Well, this is a quaint old style hotel in a quieter area in north downtown. Massive rooms with a very comfy bed and loads of pillows! Dated furniture added to the charm. Only negative was the noisy air conditioning fan. We had no control over it and it burst into life every hour for 10mins. Horrible! We were in room 119 on the ground floor. (we were asked where we wanted to stay). Breakfast was adequate. A 2 night stay was good value. Staff were superb & very helpful.

This place is comforting and unique, spacious rooms and comfortable beds with full kitchenette and large fridge. The Location was awesome, great restaurants feet from the door. But for the price tag this place needs a facelift, the entry has stained carpet and dingy couches. The general decor is disappointing; I want historic charm, not haunted mansion musk. If you have multiple people in your room, those old (albeit beautiful) historic floors creak loudly when someone walks to the restroom. But that is what you signed up for with this place, the 2 star review is for the details such as: The “fresh” flowers in the breakfast lounge were dying and molded, it made a nice thing gross, staff should remove or replace them. The faucet in one of our rooms in the restroom was leaking heavily, when brought to staff attention it was not fixed, later we fixed it ourselves in order to use the shower. We requested 2 rooms next to each other (far in advance) which was not accommodated. The complimentary breakfast was nice but not organized well, hard boiled eggs, sausage and waffles with yogurt and some dry products, but seating is limited and the flow of traffic causes basically a room stuffed with people shuffling around each other saying “excuse me. ” As I said, nice place, very comfortable and cozy, but for the same price tag I would recommend the Grand Hyatt.

Very nice hotel. Stayed 1 night prior to leaving for Alaskan cruise for honeymoon. They provide a free room upgrade upon hearing we were on our honeymoon which was unexpected. Gentleman named Max was great. He helped us with luggage and also offered us the upgrade. Great service and I would highly recommend this place to everybody.

Fell in love with this hotel! The rooms are huge and the atmosphere is amazing. What really made this hotel for us though was the staff! All of them were so friendly and helpful, but one in particular was absolutely amazing! I stay at a lot of hotels and have never received the level of service and friendliness I received from Max! We will definitely be back because of him and I will recommend this hotel to others :)

Great location but the hotel is very old and if u like a modern layout this hotel is not for you. The staff is great. My room had a wall 3ft from the WINDOW. It was like living in a basement. I had keep lights on in the day too. The flooring is wood but very squeaky. Its good to shoot a horror movie. The closet was a boiler room. Won't go their again.

This place is legitimately the strangest place I’ve ever been. I flew in to town at about midnight pacific time from Detroit. So I was already in a bit of a haze. It’s a really cool building and I’m happy I didn’t cross over into another dimension while staying there.

Building was built in 1918 as an engineering school. The building definitely shows its age but is clean. The front staff are very friendly and very informative. We recommend the valet parking as street parking is very challenging. I rated this as a 3 instead of a 4 due to the fact there are no dressers or even a closet in our room. We hung our coats on the bed posts and put our overnight bags on the floor. The room is spacious though with a small sitting room. When we checked in we were asked if we wanted a view of the space needle. We can see the needle but it's through a mesh net and the HVAC unit of the building next door. We would consider staying here again but only if the price was right.

Quality old hotel. Great staff. Super walkable. No elevator, so pack light or tip the bellman. Huge room. Full kitchen was awesome. Breakfast had all you need.

If you're looking for a vintage, unique, friendly place to stay in an ideal location for tourists, this is your spot. If you're looking for a modern, plastic, cookie-cutter place to sleep with nary a chip of paint in sight you should probably looks somewhere else. We stayed here with our kids. They loved it. Staff was top notch, breakfast was good, room was plenty big and comfortable for 5 of us (2 queen room). Easy walking distance to Seattle Center. Views of the Space Needle if you're on the third floor (totally worth the walk up). Stores and restaurants everywhere. Bus line just around the corner. But just staying here was an event in itself. We will definitely stay here again next time we're in Seattle.

This is a somewhat peculiar hotel, in old Victorian style, well located in uptown, in a logistically perfect area. Around it is full of shops and restaurants, and downtown Seattle is a shorty twenty-minute walk away. Also, within walking distance of Kerry park, where you can enjoy one of the most popular views of the Seattle skyline.
The rooms, large, comfortable and also equipped with a kitchen, retain the old-fashioned decor. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the Wi-Fi, excellent, is free. The only point of attention is the bathroom, which is as old as the rest of the room, but this can be a potential issue for visitors, especially because there is no shower (at least, there was not in my room), but only an old bathtub with a curtain.
Also the breakfast is a bit poor, but included in the price.
Overall, however, a choice to be recommended. I would go there again.

The Marquee is an intriguing old building full of character. The staff we encountered was both personable and engaging. I can't help but wonder, though, it it doesn't cater more to short-term residential stays than to overnight guests. Our room was well prepared and came complete with a little sitting room, breakfast nook, and kitchenette. There were an adorable set of twins, perhaps 3 years old, who took great delight running up and down the hallway; and a loud multi-room party one floor up which continued later into the night than perhaps optimal for our sleep.

Gorgeous and unique… great location and quite spacious! If I were coming to spend 2+days in the city, this would be the perfect place!

100 year old hotel is showing its age. Water damage in bathroom walls & ceiling. Paint bubbling/mold & mildew spots. Old musty smell. Mattress felt old as well, woke up every hour or so to roll over. Noise from people speaking in hallway and some sort of strange music box or chime was distracting when trying to sleep. Breakfast wasn't 'at' 7 like they claim. They 'began' putting stuff out for breakfast at 7. We had to wait for plates. Room was clean, sheets were clean. Staff was helpful.

Hotel not in downtown Seattle but close enough to everything. It is not a modern hotel, but not for this not advisable. Everything seems to go back to the last century, very charm in my opinion is its strong point. The staff.

Charming old world style hotel. Large rooms, comfortable beds, nice to have a kitchen area. Our room was situated on a busy street and it was very quiet. We couldn't hear traffic noise at all. Very nice assortment at the provided continental breakfast which is served in their Tin Lizzie Lounge. This hotel is 100 years old and retains much of it's original charm. We enjoyed our stay and plan to book again when we need overnight accommodations in Seattle. The Hotel is very conveniently located to many Seattle venues.

Hotel a little dated, you could say frozen in the years 70/80. The décor is so passable but everything else is there, the bedding is good, the rooms are spacious and quiet, everything needed is available and the staff are nice. To refresh urgently to make you want to stay!

Very nice hotel with a great location. It is not a modern Marriott or even a modern Best Western. It is a hotel with a lot of old charm. Very nice wood work throughout the halls and lobby look very nice. My 2 queen bed room is the size of a decent Manhattan apartment. The only reason it did not get 5 star is it gas a musky sent throughout. They could make use of "scentair" air freshening system as I see in other top hotels. Also check out the dinner around the block called Ozzies. Great breakfast prices and some of the best French fries I had.

I had a client staying here before another event. I had left a ticket for her at the front desk. When she tried to collect it the staff couldn't locate it. I had to buy her another ticket at full price instead of the group discount price of the original ticket. When I checked later the staff had located the original ticket. When I made my second trip to the hotel to retrieve it they offered an apology gift of 2 drinks in their bar to my client. When I said repeatedly that she wasn't coming back but that I would take the drinks for all my trouble and expense they refused. I recommend avoiding this place since they obviously can't be relied on for even the simplest tasks.

Good location. Fair prices. Atmospheric, to an extent. Used to be a factory. Some of the rooms need upgrading. Had to switch rooms because bathtub not working correctly. Got another room with updated shower, which was much better. Very good continental breakfast in the mornings. Can walk to a lot of places. 24-hour grocery 1 block away. Rooms have kitchens in them.

Unique rooms with a great view from the top floor. I don't mind period rooms but period plumbing leaves something to be desired. There are notices all over the room about the temperamental plumbing but perhaps it should be changed out as neither of the sinks nor bathtub would drain.

Great classic 1920's-era hotel. Excellent, friendly staff took real good care of us. Surrounded by a ton of eateries, in the shadow of the Space Needle, and an easy 30 minute walk into the downtown core. We loved it.

So much history! It was a rooming house when the Ford plant was in operation. Very comfortable! The rooms have hardwood flooring and come as small apartment. Basic furnishings in kitchen. There was a small issue with hot water pressure for the shower but not fair to complain as I didn't question it with the staff. Coffee shop directly next door through adjoining hall door. Valet parking service only.

My second stay here but this time brought my children. I love this old, charming hotel for the ambience and the staff. We were always warmly greeted coming and going and everyone was very helpful. The location is great with easy access to buses and walking routes. We stayed in a Double Queen which had a huge kitchenette with breakfast nook. The beds were very large and not too soft. The linens were a nice weave; breathable and temperate. There were blackout curtains and an abundance of towels and nice toiletries. The attached Tin Lizzy Lounge is intimate and gorgeous, well-stocked and a great place for a date or meetup. Love the Marqueen.

This is one of the cooler hotels I've ever been to. It's an old auto factory worker dormitory. Beautiful wood floors, big bathroom, and cool kitchen. The front desk staff is great and the concierge is really helpful. If I'm ever in Seattle again I'd go back here.

Beautiful, old, historic building. Suite is huge with lots of character, but pull-out sofa bed is woefully uncomfortable. Morning continental breakfast has great coffee and pastries, but fresh fruit is gnarly and overripe. Wifi unreliable and spotty.

I swear I now have seen ghosts from staying at this hotel. It's sooooooo old and has seen so many deaths. I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a bright light in the wardrobe that wasn't there when we went to bed. Creepy. The bathroom has a leaky sink and tub. All you hear is water dripping. We spent the least amount of time as possible in our room. You know the hotel is bad when you are grossed out to go back to your room. Don't stay here. If you like old hotels then go for it but if you respect your sanity and soul, then stay away.

Amazing historic hotel. Original wood floors, large rooms that were originally rooms for engineering school. Staff is very friendly. Free continental breakfast of breads and fruit, but you may also purchase other breakfast items for protein. Quiet rooms with think walks. NO ELEVATORS, so if you are handicapped you can ask for a down stairs room ahead of time. They were very accommodating. Don't expect brand new facilities of a hundred year old building. But if you like the historic charm, you're in for a treat.

It is a beautifully kept older establishment with a caring staff (so far! ). I read reviews about how people were not impressed. This is an older building, but it is decorated elegantly and clean, which is more than I can I say for other older hotels. Yes, the floor creaks a bit, and I wish the water didn't drop from the bathtub, Wi-Fi drops on and off, but it's a comfortable and sizable suite. The kitchenette has a lovely breakfast nook, and it was a great place to have a pizza dinner and also to read in the morning while the others slept in. Continental breakfast is just enough for me and my little. The staff takes care of requests and questions right away. It's a lovely place to rest between adventures in the city.

The room service was excellent. The breakfast they served was delicious. The employees were generous and caring about us. Our room was amazing. It had 2 master beds. The showers had hot water and it offered us towels.

Has stayed a few times now and I have gotten the same room. They have a weekly rate which drops the nightly rate which is great. It is close to all in the city via your own or public transportation. They have a 24 hour supermarket and Pharmacy a block away and a pick of great resteraunts in walking distance as well as a great coffee bar in the building! Staff are always nice and attentive. If I ever do the extended stay again I will definitely stay here with out question.

Our room was very large with a whole kitchen! Deujener is free and much better than the normal waffles of motels.

Room is nice. Service is wonderful. Would be five star but TV services were not complete. Missing half the channels listed due to no signal and the wireless Internet access was not very good. If it weren't for these two things, would have been 5 star.

They serve a light breakfast of a bagel and parfait each day of our stay (4 nights). The building is old so there were issues with the shower hardware. The rooms were clean and the employees were all real helpful. The Wi-Fi is useless. I could connect to it, but it would not load any pages. We expected a kitchen but only got a microwave and full fridge.

Huge room on the 3rd floor with a comfortable bed. Charming decor, fantastic restaurants surrounding the hotel, and a simple, yummy continental breakfast in the morning. Highly recommened for locals and out-of-towers alike.

The service is fine and very responsive. The lounge is nice and I can live on the cheese and wine. The 3rd floor room has a nice outlook on this side of the building and it's quiet. The room is large and the bed is nice, but no extra blankets were at the ready in the room. The tiny kitchen is nice, but no way to wash up the dishes — I may be one of the very few people who wants to cook. There's a nice coffee shop just down stairs. The bathroom is the greatest failing, with an old, small tub and shower that isn't tall enough for me, let alone my husband. Still, it's a neat old building with lots of history.

The hotel was charging too much for too little. The rooms were spacious, but there was obvious repairs needed. There was the cracked sinks, leaky water fixtures, scrapped up tub and walls. The tile in the bathroom was cracked, there was a crack in the plaster by our bed and the drain control for the bathtub was not fixed properly to the wall. The free Wi-Fi we recieved did not work. And we tried it on 4 separate devices to try to connect to it. We even called the front desk and we were told they would look into it. The continental breakfast they offer is also a blantant lie. You get a 1/4 cup of greek yogurt with berries, coffee and a bagel. There are no options. The cleanliness of our room and the size was the inly upside. I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone. Spend the extra money to stay downtown.

My husband and I stayed here with our 2 kids for a few nights on the 3rd floor. This hotel was our stop and our kids really got a kick out of the look and feel of this place after staying at newer properties, where the rooms are more cookie cutter. If you are looking for a newly built hotel with modern amenities, this is not the place for you. That said, the hotel was built in the early 1900s and has retained much of the original look (and fixtures) and features (e. G. There is no elevator). But, that's what gives this place its old world charm and character. Our room was clean and large with a full kitchen, office, living room and a king bedroom. It was comfortable and spacious. No weird rattling sounds at night, issues with a/c, etc. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Overnight parking was free. Very conveniently located. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay again. A ghost sighting or two would've been nice though… ;)

One of those gems of Seattle. Very friendly staff. The rooms are frozen in time but comfortable. Just the right amount of modern amenities. The attached lounge (Tin Lizzie's) is one of my favorites. Great drinks and live music. I've put several people up here and will continue to do so as everyone has always been very positive about their experience, which matched mine.

Not often can you mix the words quaint and luxurious but that describes the Marqueen. Our entire family gathered there from all across the country to celebrate our daughter's wedding and everyone loved it! The staff is wonderful and the rooms are spacious (owing to its history as apartments for Puget Sound Energy employees in the early 1900's). My husband and I stayed there again last Christmas while we visited our daughter and husband and we are excited to do so again this year. It is like coming home to us.

I loved the old fashioned building and décor; how ever for the price some things need to be updated; in our room the bed wasn't even attached to the head board it was just hanging there; the AC unit rattled so we had to turn it off and cooked that night when we were trying to sleep. Apparently they way of not having to fix flooring is throwing a rug or couch over what is damaged. Severely disappointed with the night stay. Only thing they have going for them is parking your car.

We loved this hotel and its history when we stayed here for a Midwinter Library Conference. We're headed back to stay here within walking distance of NW Folklife, spring 2014.

Had a nice stay here, price was fantastic, about $100. It cost $35 for your car to stay overnight as well. Probably the oldest hotel I have ever stayed in, but was very nice and nostalgic. Everything was clean, bed and pillows were fantastic! Room was huge, had a kitchen and a separate seating area. The TV was a tube, so don't expect a fancy flat screen. We were on the 3rd floor and had a nice view of the space needle. So, if ya want a modern contemporary hotel, don't stay here, if that doesn't matter then this place is GREAT for the price.

I had a lovely stay. The room was enormous, owing to its earliest incarnation as an apartment. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is an older building, so you have to expect it to have an older feel. I was only disappointed that the rumored ghost failed to show up for me.
