Penny's Place on the River Hotel

Penny's Place was a perfect, peaceful last night to a tiring but inspiring vacation. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay at least one more night. We had to catch a flight home after only one night, but we left knowing we wanted to return for a longer stay. Penny is warm and welcoming, but knows when to provide privacy for her guests. We stayed in the suite, which was luxurious and comfortable. We loved sitting on the lawn, watching the bald eagles and deer as sun set over the river. The room was reasonably priced — really a bargain, providing comfort, peace, and tranquility. Thank you, Penny, for a lovely stay.

Penny is an amazing host, and her house is beautiful, large, tasteful, and clean. The view is to die for, and the river is wonderful for swimming, boating, paddling, sunbathing, etc. It’s very wide, calm, and slow.

We were going thru Newport on our way back down from the wonderful Selkirk Loop. This beautiful home is on such a lovely setting, and Penny is so down-to-earth and friendly, it makes one feel like they could just walk in and make themselves at home! Having breakfast there was a real treat for everyone and so much fun, too! Would like to return there some day, Penny!

We came to Usk, WA for family memorial of my husband's Dad that was dealing with cancer. Was a great man. We booked one room at Penny's so we could have a quite place to sleep.
The day before we were going to arrive, Peggy called me to say we were getting an upgrade.
The first night we were the only one there, so we didn't go to visit with family.
The room we received was beautiful. Fireplace, good size bathroom, plus a sit by the window to watch the geese & duck sd in the river. Wish it would stop raining but that's Washington.
Enjoy Peggy, breakfast was great. A lot of food so we could wait until dinner. After the Memorial with about 60 family members. Arrive back for the night about 1:00 am. Place was so quite fell asleep when my head hit the pillow.
If you would like to book your wedding? This would be the place. Our just getting away for a weekend. This would be it. Enjoying life.

Well I went there to see my friend and play fortnite.

Penny's place is a perfect getaway! Just over an hour out of Spokane, you find yourself in a quiet, serene location, with a comfortable and cozy atmosphere, and a beautiful Riverside view. Penny is fantastic. She's welcoming, funny and a wonderful host! My boyfriend and I stayed, with my two young boys, in the guesthouse. She has it stocked with everything you need and makes a killer Huckleberry pancake breakfast. The guesthouse is spacious and private. We had a wonderful time, and will definitely be going back. Our room was super clean, big, and the bedding was top of the line. Penny made us feel like family rather than guests. She was super down to earth, and served us like the military serves our country. The river was great, and Penny kindly allowed us to use her paddle boat and life jackets. I promise that this quiet, but yet exciting getaway place will be a blessing to any and everyone who goes. This was my boyfriend and I's first bed and breakfast experience and it was truly amazing! We came here for our 2 year anniversary and it was definitely the highlight of our vacation. We got the master bed room suite which was beautiful with a jacuzzi in the room, a super comfortable bed, fireplace, flat screen TV (the list goes on) and the breakfast was wonderful! Can't wait to come back an check out Penny's guest house as well as wedding packages!

Penni's was lovely, with extra touches of warmth & comfort. Although we didn't use them, there's a nice jetted tub & gas fireplace to add romance & a spa like experience. Penni accommodated our request to provide extra bedding for our 5 yr old grandson after a family wedding the 2nd night with no trouble. The setting was lovely, even with a fall rain.

My wife and I arrived and the first minute there were greeted by Penny and the enjoyment began. Beautiful grounds with spectacular views, river, mountains and the room was MORE THAN WE EXPECTED, sunken tub with a bed that was so incredibly comfortable! The available massage put this place over the top. Can't say enough good things about Penney and her Place!

Very nice place to stay. Owner is wonderful. Clean, quiet and relaxing. Nice breakfast, huckleberry pancakes, eggs and bacon. Kerig coffee. The bed in the suite was very comfortable (northwest bedding bed — adjustable and vibrating). Penny makes you feel at home. Will definitely come back.

Absolutely amazing You won't find a more beautiful setting for a wedding. Stunning view of the Pend Oreille river, manicured lawn, gorgeous flower garden and beautiful waterfall/pond. My son and daughter in law were married there, and many people said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Penny is a gracious hostess and will work with you to make your special day unforgettable.

My wife and I had our wedding at Penny's Place and I don't even know where to start with how PERFECT our wedding day went. From getting ready in the beautiful home, to photos before the ceremony, the ceremony itself, dinner, and dancing… Everything went perfect in large part to Penny and a few of her helpers. We were treated like first-class and she went above and beyond to meet our expectations. I would recommend Penny's Place to anyone looking for a beautiful outdoor wedding venue with spectacular views!

My wife and I got married at Penny's Place back in 2012 and we couldn't have asked for a better venue! Penny was an excellent host and not only made us feel welcome, but went out of her way to make sure all the guests had a great time as well. The views of the river were amazing and I still have friends and family come up to me and say that it was the best wedding they've ever been to.
