I just checked out and after checking in with an amazing staff member by the name Terence I went up to my room and the problem started when I left my stuff to go a d get ice from the vending machine and when went back to my room and tried to get in using the electronic key it didn't work and I had another amazing staff member who was Security William and he tried everything to open the door but couldn't and had to call Maintenance staff who disappointed me the most as he didn't bring the tools to open my door an hour snd 40 minutes! then another Maintenance staff came over and at this time I had already several calls with my office in New York since I left my phone in the room! eventually the door was opened and even though I was given an upgrade by the front Desk staff called Rashad the damage was done! had it been for Terrence or William or Rashad I would have checked out and stayed at a different place. They went all the way to make sure all is well. My colleagues and friends in New York are going to ask me how was my stay and I will let them know of what happened to me and it was not meant to be but the fact of the matter was the Maintenance staff really disappointed me. Anyway!

Gorgeous hotel, but very bad service from check-in to requesting more towels to dining in the membership lounge. 👎🏾 Very disappointing.

Beautiful hotel! The room was very clean and spacious. The fitness center is the largest and nicest I’ve ever seen in a hotel. There are many food options inside the hotel if you don’t want to leave the property.

Our group stayed at the Washington Mariott Marquis for Otakon 2019 and checked in on Friday morning. Thanks to the help of our wonderful bellhops, unloading the car was impressively efficient and the front desk staff had us checked into a room with the requested two double beds in moments. This was the easiest hotel arrival I’ve experienced at Otakon in years. Our room itself was decently spacious and comfortable with a great view of the street outside. All public restrooms and common areas were kept clean despite the large number of guests staying for the convention that weekend. Finally, the wait time at Starbucks in the morning was very reasonable and the staff serving us at The Dignitary bar were friendly and accommodating both nights. We'll definitely be booking here for Otakon 2020!

Good hotel keeping up the Marriott brand standards. Staff was friendly and helpful. Large soaring atrium with a glass ceiling made the space special. Escalators connect to the walkways with the convention center so you can stay out of the weather. Rates are definitely affected by the seasons. Best value when Congress is out of session. Valet parking is $50 a day, but all the DC hotels are the same; you can do much better parking yourself, but it means a walk and who knows what security. The lobby has a large bar area with a dozen or more individual seating areas near it for a more personalized experience. The restaurant is clean and simple. Breakfast prices are typical for a city hotel… $20 for eggs, toast & bacon, but the presentation is nice. Rooms look out on the DC streets with no real views or inside to the atrium. It was well equipped and modern with charging stations and reading lamps on each side of the bed. I did not care for the lighting control which was either every light in the room was on or they were all off… There were no individual controls besides the bathroom and small reading lights. Bathrooms were ok; showers were a little narrow There are lots of dining options in the area.

A pretty solid hotel as far as Marriott goes, the rooms are clean and modern, the lobby is spacious and has several restaurants, bars, a Starbucks, and even a Best Buy Express. The main reason I won't give it 5 stars is because I found the service lacking, especially because they don't seem to treat their frequent travels very well. Other than telling me there's a gym and restaurants, they didn't give me a room upgrade which I'm entitled to (the availability of better rooms was wide open for the days of my stay) nor was the presence or location of the M Club brought up.

I’m pretty pleasantly surprised. I was on a project in Atlanta for two months and tried two W’s and the Westin. This is definitely my favorite so far. The rooms appear renovated and feel clean. I got a pretty big room with wonderful views on the 41st floor. The staff is nice. The only thing that surprised me was the quality of room service — I expected more. All in all good experience.

Went to lunch with friends at High Velocity. The Korean beef tacos were excellent. The options for sweet wines or ciders were limited. The table and the menu were clean. Our server was polite and attentive, got our orders correct, and was willing to split our bill. The prices are not cheap, but it was nothing out of the ordinary for dc prices so they were not expensive either. I would be happy to eat there again the next I am in the area.

The entire staff was so nice! Checking in was busy due to the convention that was starting, but even during the craziness being busy, the staff who helped us was so incredibly nice! Our bellhop was joking around and super friendly leaving the hotel as well. We needed extra blankets one night and they helped us get a few! My group of friends and I will be staying here every year for this convention we love this hotel so much!

24 hour Room service option is a joke. 4 items on menu, it’s delivered in a plastic box and they charge $5.00 to deliver “room service”. Or you can go to the restaurant that is closed and pick it up. I think they need a refresher course on what room service means.

Hotel is clean and nice place to stay but there staff and there’s rules are not acceptable as I was there 3 days ago for Citi open tennis with my family and I have 2 year old baby was with me and I request them a microwave for warm up his baby food and milk they deny and said it’s because fire hazard and blah blah so sorry we can’t give you you can ask inside restaurant ppl if they can do it for you so long story short it’s not good place for those who has babies with them it’s better to stay Omni Shoreham hotel we asked them microwave and fridge they usually charge for that but since we have baby they give us free so I that hotel and grand Hyatt I have good experience with them too.

Great location, attentive staff and beautiful rooms. Wifi is fast and stays connected. Place is huge, easy to get turned around but the highlight is the beautiful, grand lobby. Great artwork and nice selection of restaurants. Highly recommend.

Visited this wonderful hotel in September. I was very pleased with my room and the decor. I love the location of this hotel. It adjoins the convention center, and it was an easy walk or Uber ride to the museums. They do not offer room service, but you can call down and pick up meals from restaurant Anthem at lobby level. My food was always ready on time. The breakfast at Anthem was yummy, and the staff very friendly and efficient.

The Marriott Marquis in Washington D. C. Is one of the best hotels to stay for a business conference. The lobby area is the perfect area for a gathering of hundreds of people. The staff are exquisite. They are always friendly and willing to assist. The rooms are standard, but very modern. Beds, TV, bathroom area are all up to date and have been properly maintained. The mezzanine section is a great hang-out and ideal for vendors showing off exhibits. The hotel is within walking distance of tons of restaurants and the major monuments and structures around the D. C. Area. I was able to walk to every meal and see all of the great sites of the city. Here is my Ironing Board Review for the business traveler, which includes the first ever 10 star review: Ironing Board (10/10) : This ironing board was the best board I have used in a hotel room. To start the opening/closing mechanism was properly oiled as there was no sound when propping up or closing and everything moved smoothly. It is a full size ironing board (which is not always common), so clothes fit comfortably on the board. The fabric was thick and not worn at all leading to the iron itself to glide smoothly. Iron (10/10) : The hotel had the best iron I have ever encountered in a hotel closet. The iron was clean with no hard water marks. It came equipped with the steam function and puffer button. It heated very quickly and glided across the clothes like a Caterham boat on a wake-less morning.

I was meeting up with friends staying at the hotel, and I couldn't have found a more hospitable staff from Monica, the valet, to the waiter in lounge. My friends had also remarked how incredibly nice and welcoming the staff were from the moment they walked in. Hotel is so well located near some of DC's best restaurants and easy for touring around. Decor is bright with natural light, elegant but open and comfortable. If I didn't already have a home here, I would definitely stay here.

Nice hotel close to National Mall. Nice rooms with either city view or view of interior atrium. The hotel does not have a pool though. Nice staff, several restaurant choices within the hotel and several more within easy walking distance. Overall, a nice place to stay if you are visiting Washington DC.

Was there for a professional dinner event. It was easy to find the room, good signage. The event room was very nice. Dinner was pretty good. They did a good job hosting.

While I did not personally stay at the Marriott Marquis, I did see and spend time in a room. They were clean and just as you would expect for a high quality hotel. Granted, it was not stunning, but it served its purpose. The real reason I am rating the marquis so high is for their great meeting spaces. They have 4 floors of multiple meeting spaces and rooms. That includes a large ballroom. As a bonus, the hotel is conveniently connected via underground tunnel to the nearby convention center.

Excellent location, nice staff and attentive, clean rooms and decorated with great taste. A hearty breakfast. Taking advantage of its proximity to the Convention center, the hotel is always lively. If you like walking, the White House is a fifteen minute walk away. Very well equipped gym. It is always a pleasure to stay there.

I needed a place to park in Washington DC when I attended the Washington Auto Show. This hotel was the closest to the Washington Convention Center and it is an amazing and beautiful structure. Unfortunately I was only there for one day and I only part but I have plans to go back and spend the weekend. I recommend any and all Marriott Hotels because I am a fan of the hotel chain. I've never had a bad experience, and you can never go wrong staying at Marriott!

Beautiful property. The lobby is very elegant and modern and the staff is fantastic. The rooms are pretty standard with the bathrooms being the best feature. Some rooms have a smaller bathroom that feels quite chlostrophobic but overall still fairly modern. Prices can get out of control in the summer and spring but when they are normalized it's a good option.

The conference at the Marriott was excellent. The rooms and the spaces are well organized and the service is Buenisimo.

So many booking problems. First they lost my reservation, then fixed it by booking me for THREE rooms. I discovered that by chance, in advance, and they "fixed it" too but actually didn't do a thing and now I'm trying repeatedly to clear those extra charges. Altogether, I've spent hours on hold, hours talking with people who seem to try to help but apparently can't. Print your correspondence, take good notes, watch your wallet, check your credit charges, that's my advice. Rooms are nice. Staff on site is great. It's the business office, that's the problem.

I did not stay in this hotel, I merely used the Starbucks in the lobby. A very efficient Starbucks I might add. The interior of the Marriot is quite beautiful and modern. The rooms face the atrium which is from street level to the roof. I've not seen the rooms but I expect that they're quite nice. It's a brand new hotel after all.

It is an excellent hotel, ideal for attending conventions in the Convention Center "Walter E. Washington" Because it has a tunnel by which you can access from the hotel without having to leave, or pass again for security. The facilities are very comfortable and the staff is top notch, always with a smile. Every year they host the annual AIPAC event that receives a 18000 people and manages it with total professionalism.

Fantastic customer service! The hotel is recently built, so felt very new. Great room upgrade: they really know how to appreciate Platinum guests. The full service Starbucks was very nice. I was there for meetings: great food service for breakfast and lunch from the catering team. Looking forward to returning!

Location is King for this very modern hotel, with 4 restaurants that is conveniently located across for the convention center / Metro. The atrium bar is amazing, not to mention to others. It's very quiet I'm the rooms and conformable. This is your center stop for most of what's new in DC. Great M Lounge, with espresso machine and seasonal rooftop bar. In.

Very good only that almost all things are paid not like in other hotels.

This is a beautiful, well located hotel. All of the interactions I had with staff were very positive. Their conference facilities are nice, but a little difficult to navigate. The interactive maps on the walls are difficult to read. My only real complaint is that when I called just after check out about an item I left behind, they were very slow to look into it and get back to me. I have called twice and am still waiting almost 24hrs later for someone to let me know if they have found it, or even that someone has taken a look.

Second it third time I've been to this hotel for a conference. Lovely as always. Very clean, well-staffed, plenty of room. Looks incredible. I didn't stay at the hotel while in town due to the cost, but the location is convenient to many other hotels. Only thing I'd like would be more sitting areas on each floor. Finding someplace to sit and talk with colleagues can be a challenge.

Very clean room, good facilities, location is ideal. However, to my great regret, the hotel does not have free Wi-Fi and the price of the connection seems excessive.

This is a very confusing hotel. It's clean, friendly and quite gorgeous but has no common sense basics. The street is super loud, and you can hear everything going on in the hall. This is definitely not a kid friendly hotel, and I would never suggest anyone bring their kids to it. The view is really nice and the beds were pretty comfortable. It is walking distance to most of the museum's and there are plenty of eateries around.

The Marriott Marquis was a beautiful venue for our corporate awards gala. Everything was wonderful except the wait staff had a tendency to clear away dishes from under your nose while you were still using them and then only the dishes. If someone walked away and left a pile of napkins or spilled rice, they cleared the dish, put not the trash. Since this function was designed by my company to get you on your feet and mingling, seating was intentionally limited. It seemed the staff had been encouraged to clear away spaces so others could use them, but message must have been lost when passed down to the staff on how to do this both efficiently and gracefully. Otherwise, the event was truly awesome with very tasty food.

Company holiday party. Good looking place. Good service. Nice artwork. Clean rooms. Phone system said valet would be 10 minutes. Took much longer than that. Just told the valet service to call me when car was ready. Went and had Starbucks in the meantime. Wait didn't even bother me. Understandable with the amount of people at the event. I just suggest they update the automated wait time in the future.

A nice, modern hotel in downtown DC. The lobby is gorgeous and the rooms well-appointed. Our biggest — and very substantial — complaint: Not only is parking valet-mandatory (the nearest public parking is at least a block away and you may not self-park at the Marquis), but they charge $47/night for the privilege of being forced to let them park you car (more if you want in-and-out privileges) AND their system is horribly underscaled for the quantity of individuals who may all be checking out at once on a convention weekend. We, along with many others, had to wait over an hour for our car. This would be at least 4 stars without the parking issue, but the parking issue (method, cost, and wait) is critically bad. Fix this, Marriott. Lower the fees (which are ludicrous, being mandatory). Fix the process to drastically reduce delays. And please look into ways to permit us responsible adults to park our own vehicles. I'm not so spoiled I need someone else driving my car.

Had wonderful time at the Marriott Marquis. Staff were excellent. Only issue was Breakfast Buffett with cold food. Twice observed verbal exchange between staff which might explain why the food was cold. Otherwise a positive experience. We would definitely return & recommend it to others.

We were visiting DC for vacation. The location was good. It was within walking distance to most of the places we wanted to visit. It is around a 20 minute walk to the national mall, where we spent most of our time. The services provided by the staff was great and they were all friendly. The whole building is very nice and so were the bedrooms. The complimentary M club lounge we got was amazing. Also if you enjoy working out on vacation they have a 2 story fitness room that has everything you could need to workout.

Super place with a great location within walking distance to the best sites in DC. I believe the rooms were $350 per night but we (my brother and I) stayed free with a friend there on business. We walked to the Lincoln Memorial, the White House, all the Smithsonian museums, Fords Theater, tons of eating places and easy access to the subways. The room was large enough for the 3 of us and the hotel lobby is beautiful. Just a very nice stay at a high quality hotel.

After a single 2-night stay the Marriott Marquis Washington is already one of my favorite hotels if not my favorite. The centerpiece is a spectacular 12-story skylight-covered atrium with sculptures, waterfall, fireplace, and ample seating. Many rooms look out on this space; ours did and we did not find it noisy. Our room was typical Marriott-quality, clean, reasonably large, with enough drawer and closet space for 3 and enough power outlets for electronics junkies. 2 double beds; we would have preferred queens. The fitness rooms are enormous with every possible piece of equipment. No pool, unfortunately. We didn't try the Wi-Fi (free for Marriott Rewards members) because we had 5 bars of cellular in the room and the atrium. We did try 2 hotel restaurants: High Velocity for dinner and Anthem for breakfast buffet. Both were large with good service and good food although predictably overpriced. We did not feel rushed and had plenty of time to sit and schmooze. In addition to the atrium seating there are comfy seating areas on each floor with the addictive atrium views. The hotel location is good: right by the Convention Center, a short walk to the Portrait Gallery, Spy Museum, and Building Museum, and a slightly longer walk (0.8-1.0 mile) to the Smithsonian museums on the mall.

My experience was exceptional. I was there for a conference. Mobile check-in was a breeze and my room was ready early & at the time I requested. The hotel & room was clean and modern. I had M Lounge access which was convenient since I could grab a beverage or cup of tea at my leisure. It also included breakfast which was a plus. I was accommodated more than once during my stay without even asking. Overall staff was friendly and pleasant. Dante at the front desk was especially accomodating and helped me resolve a personal matter with ease. This hotel exceeded my expectations and delivered a top-notch level of service that I normally expect from the Marriot and beyond. The Marriott Marquis staff surely understand hospitality which is hard to consistently come by these days. I hope to stay again during my next visit to DC.

Great location. We crashed into their lobby bar. Great staff but the food and drink quality are simply standard. I guess with such great location, business doesn’t have incentive to do good.

Nice room! Clean, good size, and downtown. Easy to get around and close to Metro stop. Lounge had hot & cold drinks all day plus a decent breakfast & dinner with vegan/vegetarian options. Friendliest hotel staff ever!

From the inside out this hotel is very unique. Every hotel staff member is attentive and their customer service skills are very high. They take of each person as if it was family. Went to the breakfast restaurant and in the hotel and it was not to bad on the pocket and the food was great. Rooms were always kept clean and to the high standards of the Marriott.

Visited over three days for work-related training courses, though didn't stay here. Hotel was nice, and conference rooms were good and well-equipped. Washrooms were clean and well-maintained. The food, though fairly standard fare, was decent considering the large scale of feeding hundreds of people at once, leading me to believe the food services department is quite competent. Ate once in the casual restaurant in the lobby. Didn't have high expectations, but was pleasantly surprised.

This place is beautiful. Big too. It has several floors of meeting rooms of about any size for your meeting or event. Facility staff are friendly and efficient. Food service was not what I expected, it was more like upscale restaurant cuisine than banquet food. I stayed here too and the room was nicely furnished with quality fixtures and furniture. Housekeeping did a really good job taking care of the room and never bothered me but kept my room emaculant. The amenities (soap, shampoo, etc. ) are high quality. The wash clothes and towels are soft and smell fresh. Same with the bed linens. The location is quite good, particularly in respect to getting around. A subway station is across the street and there are plenty of taxis around when you need one. When I come back to Washington DC, this hotel will be at the top of the list of where I will stay.

Didn't stay at the hotel, but shout out to the wonderful valet staff outside. My car tire ripped while turning the sharp turn (lame) and I had to stop in the middle of the street right in front of this hotel. Despite the busy cars and customers coming in and out, the staff let me pull into their valet area while the towing truck came. They were SO generous and kind. Thank you so so much!

Great location in the heart of everything. Walking to Georgetown, Capital Mall and other sites is a breeze. Staff is exceptional with their customer service. I came down with a nasty stomach virus, and the manager and chef at the Fire and Sage grill where so accommodating with cooking me bland, but nutritious, food. They even delivered a bag of water, ginger ale, nuts and fresh fruit to my room without me asking for it. Once they housekeeping staff found out I was not feeling well, they were extra caring with my special requests. This is a great hotel, and I will stay here again.

Beautiful lobby area, multiple restaurants and eateries conveniently located within the pubic areas of the hotel, and elegant guest rooms made my stay here wonderful. I attended a five day conference and stayed in the hotel as well, and both the hotel and conference center are beautiful and well kept. One remarkable bonus was that my bed here was probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. I slept LIKE A ROCK, and I don't normally sleep very well away from home. Additionally, the service here was very good. On the last day of the conference I had to check out of my room, but I am a nursing mother and needed a place to pump before I left for the airport. The front desk was very accommodating and found an open room for me to use just temporarily so I could pump in peace and privacy. Very happy with my experience at this hotel.

Clean conference Hall with well equipped A/V system. Convenient location and relatively good signage. Only slightly confusing part is the floor numbering system (M's with an increasing number mean decreasing floor)

Visited this Marriott for a convention; it has some nice basement space for convention activities. Nicely appointed for wide open rooms and lobbies to said areas. The restrooms were all incredibly clean and nice as well. I can't comment on the hotel aspect, but they do a solid job of maintaining their convention space.

Comfortable beds and the room was clean. It has a mini fridge to keep small bottles of water cold. I walking distance to most things. We walked to a restaurant called Mulebone from the hotel. It was so worth it! Fantastic food.

The Marriot Marquis Hotel in DC is an excellent tourism facility of the highest level, meets all human and material conditions. The service is always excellent. In the case D Eun Scientific event or other modality, as was the case of the 125 annual APA convention, this Hotel is an ideal choice for organizers and participants from all over the world. Phenomenal outward appearance. Grandiose and clean. Great service and staff. The gym is the biggest and best I've ever had. It's worth noting a travel frequently and this stood out. The location is prime. Within walking distance to anything worth seeing in the District. The room was the only lacking feature. My TV had some damage, and the beds are a little harder than I'm used to. The shower curtain also had an ugly stain from the bath. Those issues aside the room is aesthetically pleasing regardless.

Great centrally located property to the Washington Convention Center, Metro and bus transportation, Chinatown, and other major attractions. There atmosphere is ultra modern with white marble flooring every where. Depending on your shoes, the marble can be a very slippery surface even when dry. The hotel layout is confusing and it's easy to get lost in the building. Depending on what floor you are on, there is no cell phone service. Meeting and convention services are offered but there is no dedicated large freight elevator. So be prepared to scale down equipment, or make multiple trips. Service hallways have a low ceiling, so tall items won't fit. Restaurants and parking are pricey. It's cheaper to eat out or park in a private lot.

Great hotel, great location. Rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable. It's very centrally located I've been able to walk to all major tourist areas. Service has been spot on.

Beautiful hotel with easy access to convention center. I only attended the Microsoft Inspire event here and was shocked at how large it is compared to the size from the street. Everything inside is sleek and modern with a very large open lobby. Meeting facilities were top notch.

I had an event with my job here, with it being an event with the medical field I didn't see the rooms except for the room that we were all working in from my team but as far as the bathrooms and the staff they were all very polite and helpful with getting us cards in order to get all of our supplies and equipment to the rooms and areas needed. Seem to be a very clean Hotel, parking was nice with having valet parking except for having to completely go around in a circle to get your vehicle on the correct Road in order to actually get to the hotel.

The location is great, the hotel is beautiful. The rooms are a bit of a disappointment though, I was expecting much nicer decor, larger beds, etc. The gym facility is beyond reproach, but I wish there was a pool. Overall, great stay.

The rooms are very pleasant and very well soundproofed. Slept like a baby. The event center is great. The bar is a bit pricey, but bartenders are friendly. The staff have been awesome!

I booked 5 nights at the Marriott Marquis for a conference that I was later unable to attend. I was very careful to look at the cancellation policy when I made the booking and made sure that I cancelled way ahead of the 1 day minimum that was clearly stipulated in my reservation confirmation. What a surprise to find out that the cancellation policy doesn't actually apply. It's just a random statement apparently. I was charged 1 night stay at 159.00$ despite the fact that I cancelled 2 days before the check-in date. Possible mistake, right? So, I called the Marriott and they said they would look into the situation and someone would call or email me back within 5 business days. Three weeks later, no call, no email. I called back the hotel only to be transferred, put on hold, and hung up on twice. I must say, this is the worst customer service I have gotten in a long time. Long story short, I was given the gift of paying for something I should not have payed for by Marriott. There is a thing called Conscious Capitalism, where you are in business to really create a business for yourself AND to contribute to the world and to your clients. This isn't it unfortunately.

Fantastic hotel! I was so impressed with the front desk, the room service, concierge. Best of all was John the bellman who helped me with my broken suitcase by taping it up for me. Beautifully designed foyer. Large rooms with comfy beds. Food was amazing. Went for the Toastmasters Annual Convention event and all arrangements were done fabulously! Even the Smithsonian and other memorials and monuments are easily a walking distance. Convenient location. I would love to stay at this hotel again.

Really nice space. Clean, large hotel room with more than enough outlets for charging phones and other devices. Large bathroom, nice shower. Pretty comfy bed. Pillows are a little too soft.

Didn't stay here, just rating the bars, which were nice, not too expensive, and had an atmosphere even late into the night on a Thursday. I'll definitely be going back there.

Nice restaurants and bar/lobby area, good conference space. Catering staff was wonderful. Close to other attractions and restaurants in gentrifying area. Near metro.

It is a perfect hotel for my family.

Very impressive property in a great location. It's next to the convention center and near several restaurants. The area is now called Mount Vernon and it's up and coming. It's maybe a half mile from the National Mall and close to the Capitol and the White House. You can't go wrong staying here!

I was at the hotel to attend breakout sessions for a conference. The rooms we were in for the sessions were large and spacious with good lighting and acoustics. Some credit should go to the A/V folks, but the hotel was certainly prepared for the volume of people. I also felt the bathroom facilities were top notch.

The hotel staff were kind and eager to help. The location was perfect as it was next door to the convention center where I spent the day. The rooms were clean, the shower nice and spacious. Highly recommended and I will stay there next year.

The hotel is beautiful and the service was excellent. My room as moderately sized but spotless and well-appointed. Parking is a little pricey, though comparable to other major hotels in the area.

Very beautiful hotel with great accommodations. Great location as it is 15 minutes walking to the Mall. Staff was helpful and generous with correcting mistakes. Club M breakfast was average. Rooms were very clean.

Met a friend there for drinks, it was pretty awesome had two bars great room to spread out and have our own area to carry on a conversation. The service was good, nothing too crazy but they were quick and friendly. The areas inside were decorated nicely and had neat scuptures creating a fun DC atmosphere. From what my friend said about his stay is because many of the rooms face into the courtyard, it was a little noisy on a Saturday or Friday night due to groups staying there from the convention center or the Verizon Center.

Never ever book this hotel! They are complete jerks. My dad is blind and has a seeing eye dog. I was letting the dog out to go to the bathroom which means I have to walk through the lobby. Officials stopped me on the way back to my room and asked if the dog was a service dog, I said yes and they asked if it was mine and I said it was my dads. They then told me I was not aloud to be alone with the dog in the hotel and to go back to my room… which I already was doing. So next time I queues I'll just let the dog go to the bathroom in the room. Checking in was also a huge dilemma. We got to the hotel at 1am and was expecting to be checked in quickly so we could go to bed. We had requested connecting rooms a week earlier and they said that there was 2 connecting rooms available and that they would hold it for us. However, now they said the connecting rooms were already not available, saying that they have been completely booked for weeks. Proceeding, it took the lady 40 minutes to check us in because she didn't have keys… the printer wasn't working to print directions etc etc. Finally we got the keys and she gave up on the written directions and explained how to get to our rooms which were now not remotely close to each other. Turns out she told us the wrong elevator to go in. So we went back down and asked someone else to take us to our room.

Attended professional event in one of the ballrooms. Location was nice, well appointed, everything was clean and the staff was courteous. There were no A/V issues. I would strongly consider this location if I was planning a mid-sized (1, 000+) professional event in central D. C.

Customer service is embarrassing (rude front desk who hung up on us and multiple booking mix up). Location is good and the hotel facility is good. But having two of the three guests sleep on air mattresses because of the hotel mishandling our bookings is unacceptable.

Reservations made for four guests, but they gave us a room with a king bed, so our two small children had to share with us. Beverage vending machine took money but was out of product and wouldn't return change. Valet took nearly fifteen minutes to return vehicle. Bathroom had a shower with no tub. Restaurants had nothing for children. The only reason I gave three stars was because check-in was quick and there is a Starbucks inside next to the lobby. We won't be returning.

Stayed here on a business trip in September 2014. Loved the location; as I only had one day for fun in between business meetings, LOVED that this was close to attractions that I could walk to as well as a nearby CVS when I ran out of makeup. Had a gross, unclean experience when I tried to enjoy the hot tub for 2.2 seconds that was not maintained, but other than that I would highly recommend this place when you're in town on business!

I was at the Marriott Marquis for a convention and it was a great location. The rooms were huge and even with a lot of people at our event it didn't feel cramped. I only encountered hotel staff once and she was very friendly and helpful. Valet parking prices were very high so we parked off site.

Love the interior/ambiance, but other than that it's just like any other hotel in DC. Comparable to the Embassy Suites or Renaissance right down the street. This hotel has the added benefit of being linked to the Convention Center by a tunnel, so you don't actually have to go outside to visit if you are there for a conference or event.

A friend got a room here at the DC Marquis for an event at the Convention Center in DC. I ended up staying with her. The hotel is very large with a nice layout and luxury feel. Room was nice and food service was good. Overall a good experience!

Stayed at this hotel for a conference… won't be doing it again next year. Room and bathroom were exceedingly small and in need of some attention. Food and food service was horrible. Box food that you can get from any store served cold and slowly. And now THREE WEEKS after my stay (which was completely paid for by the conference) there is a flat $100.00 charge on my credit card that I was required to put on the room when I checked in. When I checked out with the front desk I verified that there were no charges. What's up with that!

Great hotel. Great rooms. The only negative is that there is no free Wi-Fi. If you are a rewards member then you do get free Wi-Fi.

We were traveling with the International Century 21 Convention. This is a fantastic hotel. We felt safe from the minute we walked in. The staff could not have been any more helpful. They were always willing to help. If we were in the area again, we would stay here again.

We love this place! Very upscale, great location, clean, THE BEST HOTEL GYM YOU WILL EVER FIND>>>>EVER. And if you are a Rewards Club member, the M Club is great place to escape to and watch TV, enjoy the 24 hour/day commercial espresso/coffee machine and all the other goodies that are there for the guests. We will be back In reading the other reviews, I must say I did request a non atrium facing room, which they obliged, and we heard no noise at all. The service was fine. We did not have any problems with the staff. The M Club served breakfast for free. The BEST croissants. This is my wife's weakness and she can't stay away from the croissants Marriott serves here. Eggs, Lox/bagels fruit, muffins. This would be at least a $20 breakfast buffet all for Silver/Gold Reward Club members, so I can't speak for the less than adequate breakfast I read on other reviews. But our breakfast was also 5 stars. Also, if you want to save some money, go with a local parking garage/ local parking lot. Yes, you will walk 10 minutes, but instead of paying $47/night with taxes for valet services, you will pay $8/night.

Nice place. Modern style, lots of cozy places in the lobby to hang out, good snacks, especially the bbq flathead pizza.

Staying one night for a medical conference tomorrow, on kidney transplantation. $350+ for the room and $14 extra for internet. Sports bar downstairs had lousy food. Nachos and veggie burger $67 with tip. Room is ok, but there is CONSTANT noise outside from sirens and horns honking, and we're on the 7th floor! Must be next to a fire station or something. If you have a choice. Don't stay here. I know I won't again.

Although I was not able to stay in this hotel, my rating is a review of the sales office at the Marriott Marquis Washington, DC. I had two simple questions on prices for rooms that were not available through the website. My first call was forwarded to a woman in the sales rep office who did not want to answer my question on pricing, and I was forwarded to another woman in sales who asked me questions but never answered mine. I was put on hold and then she hung up on me. I called back again, this time the main customer service rep was a very kind man and answered my questions instantly with ease, and kindly forwarded me to sales again for further details. The sales rep office never picked up, and I was bounced back to my previous representative. He noticed the flaw, and forwarded me again. The sales office never picked up. To the Sales Office, As this premier institution is a professional business of hosting and hospitality, I was dealt with very unprofessionally, and am writing to share my concerns. You lost business for one of your VIP suites today because of your actions, and as sales reps, you represent every aspect of that hotel. I hope you don't take you job lightly, and hope that you better respect those for whom you work for.

This hotel will live up to the Marriott's quality service after the soft opening. The lobby is stunning and the staff, even though some are still in training have a friendly attitude and are more than willing to be of assistance. This hotel is located near the train station, convention Center, Verizon Arena, China Town, and only a mile and half walk to the White House. The group I was with, was very pleased with the accommodations. The guest rooms were great. And the restaurantswe dined in were excellent. I would definitely return to this hotel.
