Review of Hyatt Regency Crystal City at Reagan National Airport 4*

Do not. I repeat. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE BREAKFAST! I stayed at this Hyatt last Saturday. I didn't get the name of the valet attendant who greeted us on arrival around 2am but I will say he was great! The reasons I gave 2 stars are pretty simple. The breakfast food was terrible and the key card to my room didn't work! We arrived around 1:30am and were pretty tired and ready to get up to our room. Unfortunately, front desk gave me a dead key card! Called front desk and had to wait 15 minutes until someone finally came up from security to open the door, only after he tried to scan our card (the dead one) like it would magically work due to him doing it maybe? I don't know. Weird. Either way, he opened it with his security card and didn't even bother to bring us up a new card for entrance should we have chosen to leave the room for any reason. Sunday morning arrives and we're hungry. Instead of having to go out of the hotel and get food we decided to stick with convenience and just grab food at the breakfast buffet WHICH IS $18 PER PERSON! BIG MISTAKE. Granted, I have no problem spending that money for a meal but for $43, I expect the breakfast to be good. Come on. It's breakfast. Not a 5 star dinner. IT WASN'T EVEN DECENT! No flavor, no freshness. Nothing. Honestly. The best thing was the orange juice. Overall the bed was comfy and the room was clean so that's appreciated, but I wish I could have gotten my $$ worth. Next time I stay there, I will try to come in earlier and I will be staying away from the breakfast.
