Love how big my room is the beds are so comfortable. Nice room & love the ducky in my tub. Never seen anything like this nice touch. Truly great room, great price & great service. The fridge could use an update & remote but come on that's it. You can easily fit 30 ppl comfortably in this room for an intimate party just saying.

Everything was clean and perfection. We also took our two small dogs who also enjoyed the visit. Will definitely come back.

Beds were clean but thats about all to be said for it. Bathrooms are old and stained, towels had stains on them, shampoo bottle was half empty when we arrived with an empty toilet paper roll. Staff wasn't friendly. Night desk person snatched money for the sodas I purchased out of my hand rather than reach forward to take it. In the morning the desk ladies couldn't be bothered to said good morning back as I left.

WONDERFUL! The manager Alicia was so nice, made me feel at home in a very stressful time in my life. The room was clean and the patio was nice! I honestly cannot say enough about the staff here top notch!

It's been raining a lot and they allowed us to park our Motorcycle under the awning to keep our seats dry. This is a nice thing to do.

Tried booking a stay! I got put on hold then hung up on. Second time I tried and got put on hold again! I’ll take my business else where and I advise others to do the same if they can’t do any better.

While staff is super friendly & I was happy to find a last minute reservation that would accept a dog, our stay was under-whelming to say the least. We were placed on the first floor — no air flow-it was like a tomb. Our A/C unit didn't seem to work properly & wouldn't go to high setting. Humidifiers placed in the hallway but they were full & no one attended to them until morning. Two light bulbs out in the room, the fridge needed to be defrosted, the hook for towels on the back of the door fell right out, ice machines are disgusting, coffee machine in room was equally disgusting.

Best hotel in Salem/Roanoke for the money. The staff is amazing. Taylor runs an amazing hotel.

I was hesitant because of the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was fantastic, the rooms spacious and very clean. The hotel is very well maintained, the grounds as well. Fresh lemon water and hot cookies were a daily treat. I was here for 5 days for a dog show and I look forward to coming back next year. Could not have been a better visit.

We stay in Choice Hotels more than any other chain. This one is worth avoiding. Staff sent us to rooms that had not been cleaned. I have difficulty with stairs and when I visited here, their elevator was not working. I think that poor management may be the cause. Plenty of other Choice hotels in the area, I suggest you try any one of those.

The room was okay. You could see that the TV stand hadn't been dusted. We had our little dog with us and we put a bowl of food down for him. When we got up in the morning, the bowl was full of ants that were coming through a hole in the wall. I had to toss the entire bowl of food in a trash bag and tie it off for the manager to see along with photos on my phone. They didn't seem terribly concerned that they had a severe ant problem in one of their rooms.

Poor malfunctioning TV (not HD), desk phone disconnected and bathroom night light broken. Good service from staff.

We stay here majority of time we come to Roanoke. Good rooms, and a really good breakfast. Rates are also good. When we checked in the room we were assigned had a musty smell to it. Spoke with lady at front desk and she immediately moved us to another room. No musty smell. Great room. Great Customer Service! Really enjoyed our stay.

Super sweet staff, clean rooms, nice place for the price and was super convientant to hidden valley country club we had a wedding at.

Dont go on Sundays and have a allergy attack. No where sells Sudafed till 1100.

Rooms clean and rates affordable. The bed mattress was sagging in the middle and uncomfortable, and the place is difficult to get around in. Check-in is on the 2nd floor and you have to take an elevator down to the 1st floor from there. If you have a room on the 1st floor, parking is very inconvenient. Also, multiple semi-pro sports teams stay here, and that made our check-in experience extremely difficult. There are other "Choices" in the area, and I recommend you try those to avoid unexpected problem you may face here.

This time we were shut out by reservations and 3 athletic teams! Previous experience was Good! Renovations are needed to keep up with other properties along the hotel strip that are being upgraded!

I stayed at this property a few weeks ago, and the condition of the hotel is at it's worst. I had a room on the first floor the smelled of old wet mildew clothes. When I went to put my things in the closet you could see black spots all in the wall from mold. I went to the front desk to ask for another room. On this occasion the hotel was sold out and there were no other rooms to put me in. NO compensation was offered. I went back to my room to sleep for the night as I had been traveling all day due to relocation in the military. I honestly hope that wasn't some type of mold that can get people sick. I got up the next morning with the intentions of quickly getting a hot shower, a meal and to hit the road. What I got was a towel with black hairs in it, thank goodness there were others. I went upstairs to grab some breakfast, just your run of the meal waffles, pastries, and eggs and sausage, cereal, and oatmeal. When I went to check out the girl at the desk said just lay your keys there, I had to ask for a receipt. I got out to my car and noticed I had a door ding from the close and confined parking spaces they have guest squeeze into. There is no way there is enough parking spaces for the amount of rooms they have. There is also a very small sign on the side of the building designating that it's a comfort suites. Driving in from the local road there is a good way of missing it if you are not paying attention. The only good thing was the bed was comfortable.

Good place to stay in Salem, VA except that I wish there was a banner that says Comfort suites at the front door. Also, the heaters are old without digital thermometer.

The staff was GREAT, the motel was very nice, the room was clean an comfortable. A wonderful experience. Look forward to staying here again.

We had made reservation by choice rewards for a king size bed, at the Ridgewood Farms. So when we arrived the next day, to check in our room. We found out that the reservation was set up at a different location, and the desk clerk, Kevin Cornett, told us that he would try to make it right. He was able to get our reservation cancelled at the wrong location and set us up at the Ridgewood location, with out any additional fees. Otherwise, we had a good night rest. Sunday morning, when we came out to have our breakfast, we found Alex Soenz, had the breakfast area set up and looking nice. It was well stocked with products and the her warm smile was a great way to get our day started. She was very knowledgeable about your services and products and we had a great time. So, I thought since these two individuals who works for you did provide a exceptional service to your business and that you should know about it. Thanks for time. Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Harvey.

Staff was friendly and courteous, breakfast was good, the standard complimentary style. The rooms are plenty big, we had a king with two small kids in their pack and play pens with still lots of room to move around. The air and sheets on our room on the bottom floor (partly below ground) felt slightly muggy, so we had to get the air down pretty low in the room to feel comfy the second night but we like it cold so it wasn't too bad. Overall a laid back atmosphere in the hotel and a nice place to stay.

This hotel is not worth 1 star its falling apart and staff 3 to 11 and 11 to 7 are horrible guy working late night looks creepy and smells of smoke bad… room smells muggy and down stairs smells like mold stay away people!

Beds are very soft. Nice pillows. Good and clean. Easy to get to. Lots of plugs and lights. Solid 4+ stars. Great for the price.

Staff is rude, and not helpful. Rooms were not ready an hour and a half after check in, absolutely pathetic. Mold above the shower and in the hole in the wall behind the fridge. Door does not close/lock properly, there's a screw being used for the latch lock. Filthy. There are plenty of other hotels in the area. This is the first time in my travelling career rooms have not been ready, or this filthy, or this far from hospitable. Absolutely unbelievably bad. I would only recommend entering this building to see this shitshow for yourself. Garbage.

I'm being generous by giving this hotel one star. I want to be clear by saying that I can overlook outdated and under maintained rooms however I can not overlook dirtiness and filth. Our room had issues with all of the above. The carpets had clearly not been vacuumed. The edges of the carpeting near the walls had not been vacuumed in a long time. There was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom shower area. The telephone did not work. There was a dirty towel and trash behind the couch. There was a dead dried up worm on the floor. When communicated all of this to the gentleman at the front desk and his response was that housekeeping left at 2:00. He offered to move us to another room but I'm fairly confident that all of the rooms in this hotel are not well maintained and dirty since the pool and hall carpets were dirty as well. I discovered all of this over the short period of time when we checked in (late afternoon) until bedtime. We checked in and left shortly after that for dinner. (Local Roots in Roanoke for dinner… great Resturant… they get 5 stars) We are also here for just one night and we are leaving early in the morning. I really didn't want to pack all of my family's things up and moving to another room just for the few hours I was going to sleep. (See pics and review on yelp) Don't be fooled by what I suspect are stock photos of the rooms.

We were there spending time with family that was staying there for a couple of days. They have stayed there many other times and they always love it, but we all noticed some negative changes this time. Examples are the hot tub/Whirlpool needed more cleaning and they had to hunt down someone to clean their room. Hopefully the hotel will get better and they would want to stay again.

We had a wonderful stay here. Helpful staff, clean room and bathroom, and great breakfast. The rooms each had a mini fridge and microwave. They provide small soaps and shampoo/conditioner as well. The breakfast was excellent — make your own waffles, bagels, toast, pastries, cereal, oatmeal, eggs, etc. Cute pool and balcony area outside with a lovely view. Definitely recommend!

Earlier reviews of carpets needing updating are correct. There is a large stain on the second floor carpet heading down the hallway to the rooms. The key swiper was very temperamental and we even had a cleaner try their card and had a difficult time opening the door. My wife went to take a shower and there was a large mold stain on the ceiling above the shower head. It seems the tried to paint over part of it which was still visible through the paint and it spread beyond the paint cover up. The reviews we read were not to bad recently but we were disappointed and certainly doubt we will stay at another Comfort Suites anywhere. There is so much competition out there they have to be losing some business with these problems. Other than that the rest of the room was clean and comfortable.

Clean room, with a friendly touch of a rubber ducky for the kids. The check in clerk Daniel was super nice and the breakfast staff was polite and quick to restock. We'll come back!

Nice, clean room. Didn't get to have breakfast but the wife said it was great, lots of variety and not just carbs. Had a quiet visit overall, didn't get to enjoy the pool but it looked very nice as well. Will definitely stay here again should the need arise.

Really enjoyed my stay here. Well run, clean and nicely decorated. A wonderful breakfast and located in a super residential area. There is beautiful mountain views from the balcony and pool area.

Room and hallways stink horribly. Toilet was clogged, TV was fuzzy, and the smell was horrific. If your room smells like smoke, request a new room! Manager will not investigate and they will charge you $150. We were put in a room that had clearly been smoked in. Yes, we are smokers but we smoke outside, even at our own home. We were going to be charged a smoker's fee but after explaining the cup of ashes and cigarettes are from smoking outside, the manager waved the fee. We were moved to another room and were not even there for 10minutes when the manager knocked on our door. My friend was holding the door and the manager started sniffing. Mind you, my friend is a smoker, the manager stated she smelled smoke and she was going to charge us. That would make sense since she was standing next to a smoker. Did I mention she had not quite entered the room? She then proceeded to lean over and sniff the bathroom and said we smoked. We had only been in the room for 10 minutes and hadn't ever been to the restroom. Again, we do not even smoke in our home. So, it would be REALLY out of character to smoke in any room. Anyway, after several attempts to get the general manager he finally came up to our room. I asked him to please step into our room and we will step out, leave the door open, he could smell the room, and he will clearly see that we were not smoking. He refused! If there was a legitimate concern for cigarette smoke, he should have investigated. He refused! I am baffled.

I called in and booked the room. But when I arrived，there was no room for me! I had to pay $140 to stay in different hotel.

Great hotel! My boyfriend and I chose to stay here last minute since we were heading to Virginia Tech the next day. Very nice staff, comfortable bed, and perfect view of the mountains! The only downside was that there seemed to be boogers on the shower wall which was disgusting to look at, but other than that it was great. We plan to stay here this upcoming Fall for Virginia Tech football games!

Awesome! The front desk clerk (Taylor) was always pleasant, always smiling, always overly helpful to whatever we needed. Taylor gets 5 stars from me. Breakfast was good. The rooms were great, as was the housekeeping staff. I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel is quiet with nice views of the mountains at an affordable price. Good location. Can't beat it for the price.

Two star to begin with but goes down for several reasons. First management jerked me around for 3 hours and talking 10 different people merely to make an extra $20. Then when it was time to check in the rooms were not ready, the front desk was dressed in spandex, and no one seem to know how to do their jobs. Three rooms were booked ahead of time but yet all were on different rooms in opposite sides of the hotel. At least the smell described by others wasn't there. Bottom line management was incapable but pleasant.

Front desk customer service was phenomenal. Brandon went above and beyond and gets kudos of 5 stars plus from me. Breakfast was good and our hostess Tracy was very interactive and attentive to her customers wants and needs. Housekeeping folks were very pleasant and all greeted me daily with a smile and a hello. I however was not pleased with the housekeeping issues I encountered daily. Two days our bed was not made nor towels and supplies replaced. Two days the bed and towels were addressed but no supplies were replaced. Although we had some housekeeping issues, our room was clean and our bed was very comfortable. Most importantly, customer service was a A++++.

Room was mostly clean except for the dingy carpet in the corners and the hallway carpets are absolutely terrible. Decoration is really tacky. Front desk women seem like she was in a bad mood. That definitely a clean enough place to stay.

A personal belonging was stolen from my boyfriend's room, and the manager was rude and unhelpful. No one in the company offered him any assistance and swore no theft had occurred. The item that was stolen is irreplaceable. We will never stay at a Comfort Suites again.

The lobby and the breakfast area look really new but the rooms are pretty old. The first floor does smell really moist, the rooms are a bit better as long as the fan is on. Service at the front desk was alright.

DUMP! This is more of the Econo quality than a CS! It looks like they missed the last two updates. The room smells moist and way over priced. I stay 300 nights a year in Choice Properties and I will never stay here again. In-fact I am moving to the Quality Inn ASAP. VA Tech football game so prices are higher. Comfort Suites $125+tax, Quality Inn $89+tax.

Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Only complaint is the hot tub. It's more like a cool tub and no one knew how to control the temperature. They were under the impression if you turn the jets on, it would heat up. After two complete cycles, the temperature remained the same. Everything else is great and I would stay here again as it's not to often we get to make use of the hot tub.

I've stayed here for 2 days a week for about 4 weeks now and every time is worse than the last. This is a terribly run hotel. The rooms are not cleaned well. There is always a terrible smell on the 1st. Floor. If you're lucky you can hear the staff arguing in the hall ways or maybe hanging out in the lobby with their entire families. If you're real lucky you may get a room that's been cleaned, on your first try. Coffee machine in the room had something growing in it. If you are accustom to any sort of quality this is not the place to stay.
