I have been staying here for a few days and so far its amazing honestly I cant understand the bad reviews on the site its unreal. "Laurie" at the front desk, is the most sweetest amazing lady I have meet at a hotel before. She was very helpful and super sweet. She has made my stay here amazing comforter safe stay I love it She is wonderful hard worker. The breakfast has been awesome every morning. And the other workers here are are respectful and helps with anything else you need for your room its truly amazing comfortable stay I recommend anyone to stay here at any time it's been an awesome experience and they really welcome you here if I was to get this hotel out of 5 stars awesome I'll give them the complete five. *5

The front desk attendant Lorie is such a nice, helpful, very professional part of the staff. I feel comfortable knowing that she is at the front desk looking out for the guests. The motel is older but well kept and the price is fair. The walls are not paper thin like many motel rooms as the building is solid concrete so it's quiet. The view is amazing and the pool is very nice.

Don't stay in this motel. Check in was confusing because the front desk didn't have the confirmation numbers of the three rooms we had reserved. The rooms had a strong and very strange smell from the disinfectant the cleaning staff used. But the room was dirty — — with hair on the toilet and in the shower. The mattress was old and stained. The cold water faucet in the tub was very hard to turn off. The breakfast offering was very poor. It was better than camping out, but just barely.

I booked this place via 3rd party website at a "good deal" that is non-refundable upon cancellation. Simply I will be talking to the front desk personnel tomorrow morning and/or dropping a line to Wyndham as there is no way I would think they would be happy if they saw the conditions of this place. Oh… and the box frame is broken so the bed sinks in the middle Certainly not a good deal and I would absolutely NOT look at this place for even $30/night. Mold in the bathroom, sloppy paint, sliding door back up lock isn't even bolten into the wall, and not that I don't stay in hotels to watch tv… my grandmas black and white box had a better picture than these flat screens. Oh, and it smells bad of cleaning sprays. Cover-up perhaps? The only thing good I can say is that the lady working the front desk upon arrival was extremely nice. Avoid this place. I can only hope that they do me right and refund me or exchange my nights for another Wyndham hotel… and in follow-up, they did refund me with out hassle. Good people, just not a good place. Perhaps someday they will get it brought back up to par. FYI, they took down my pic of peeling paint.

Front desk person Laura was so nice and helpful. Got in and we were very hungry. She took her time and suggested several places to try out. Rooms were average but she made up for anything that was lacking with her willingness to help out a couple of tired travelers.

The beds are comfortable, the breakfast is good basic and filling to get you on your way, and overall the hotel is reasonably priced. Always clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Nice rooms and pretty pool area. Some of the front desk staff treated me like the thought I was gonna steal something or cause some sort of trouble. The breakfast is very decent as well. Each room has a sliding glass door that allows you to exit the hotel. Reminded of renting at a beach even though we are nowhere near one.

Room smells. TV has no guide to see what's on. Limited breakfast items. Had a problem adjusting room temperature. Bed is comfortable and I do like their pillows. We stayed in a baymont in fl so thought this would be a good choice but it's really lacking.

You go past all these nice hotels and when you get to the this one it has graffiti as the first thing you see. The lobby was clean. Check in quick and easy. Laurie was very welcoming. The hall smelled and the room was horrible. Wallpaper peeling off, the faucets loose. Just all around dirty and run down looking. Breakfast was a joke. The orange juice was "out of order" and there wasn't much variety. Won't go back here. Other than the friendly service, I don't recommend.

Staff is amazing. The building could use a little work. But due to the fact that we were using it as a reception for my father's funeral it was all in all not a terrible place.

Loved it. They actually honored their coupon from the travel books we piçked up at the welcome center. The place was so inviting. Front desk clerk was very pleasant and informative that you just wanted to stay. The beds were sooo comfortable and breakfast was ok. When traveling this way again, I would stay here and encourage others to stay too.

It is a shame that one employee alone can drop a review from 5 stars to 1. She is the most obnoxious, disrespectful person I've came across in a very long time. She was screaming and cussing and calling people names. She made a point to make it known that she was a New York prison guard for 12 years and runs the hotel as such. It is a shame considering the owner and all the other employees were so polite and accommodating. We will be calling corporate to make them aware of her ludicrous, unnecessary behavior.

I have. Been here since July 19, 2017, with exception of couple WK ends & week to go camping. At first it was OK, I have an 'Auto-immune disorder Allergic to some toxic fumes part is Mold-Mildew in 4 rooms they switched me to when I ask they have Maintenance look into, This is more than Mold/Mildew! This motel has been remodeled but old air heat units in rooms I was assigned? One room had water leaking around tube. Since I am elderly that was concern! I am waiting to move to a retirement apt. I should live normal life its when in "closed" area _& "only" in room/ ever anywhere else! I awoke 2 wks ago at approximately 1 30 am to horrible head ache/right ear pain _swollen and found inside severely swollen, bleeding Aldo slight right nose bleed. Attempts to move meet with Snap+CRACKLE+POP in ear. I told desk clerk & I had pull my belongs to this room which is "no better'. Musical chairs? Then vertigo set in/not once as anyone asked how I feel, believe me they are very aware! The note this occurred & loss of hearing/total right ear /spread left ear! I saw my Primary Care Physician WHO prescribed. Amox-Clav/bacteria infection,. Meclizine for vertigo. I am scheduled to see EAR physician/Specialist. I saw my Primary Care doctor twice.

Perfect for a family holiday.

We were not planning to stop here, but circumstances demanded we stop. And we will now make Baymont our stopping point going to and from NOVA and VT. Rooms were great and the manager was very helpful.

The owner was very accommodating, since the town was all booked up and the other hotel (best western plus) gave our rooms away it was last minute.

Absolutely the worst baymount i've ever stayed at! beds broken phone broken outlets looked like caught fire (they couldn't be used) water didnt get hot or turn off … non smoking room smelt lile pure smoke with burns in the dirty sheets! charged way more then was told never given receipt …

Main lobby and breakfast rooms were inviting but our room was nothing like what was advertised. The bed was comfortable but the bathroom was disgusting, lampshades were cracked, mirror frame was pealing, bathtub finish was worn off and had blue stains on the bottom. The card key entry in the back entrance snd room was disabled. We would have left, but there was a football game in town and rooms were scarce and we had just gotten off a 13 hour drive from NH. Will never stay there again.

I WISH I could give it less than one star! HORRIBLE service. My family chose this place as the reception hall for my sister's wedding. When we arrived the day before the wedding, the banquet room was FILTHY! The floor was not vacuumed, there were stains and dirty all over the carpet, the bar area was covered in sticky residue, and the room smelled like an ashtray! I made the mistake of going into the back room to look for some sort of cleaner to fix the horrible smell that progressively made my asthma worse. The back area where the FOOD FOR THE BREAKFAST WAS PREPARED looked like it hadn't been cleaned in 10 YEARS. The walk-in was filthy, there was rotten food on the ground, and I saw bugs running around. In the very back of the kitchen, there was a room that contained THREE MATTRESSES COVERED IN BLACK MOLD! A hispanic gentleman came and said "I clean". He pulled out a vacuum and started vacuuming a few small areas; all that did was kick up dust and MOLD from the carpet. I have been having asthma attacks all weekend because of this horrid facility. The drug addict looking women running the front desk ASSURED us the carpet would be cleaned, the dance floor would be placed, and the tablecloths would be put on the tables the day of the reception. My mother arrived on my sister's big day and discovered NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE! THE PASTOR that married my sister had to pay the final bill before they'd even let the wedding party arrive!

Stayed here on our way from ME to Nashville for a wedding, Needed a pet friendly hotel. Arrived very late after a 12 hour drive. Non-smoking room reeked of cigarettes, sink 100% clogged — unusable. Found cigarette ashes on the floor in the morning. Should be a $35 hotel.

Booked this hotel room months in advance because we were coming into town for a my sister's wedding and Virginia Tech had a home football game at home the same weekend so I knew rooms would fill up fast. I had never stayed at a Baymont Inn before but saw several on our way from Missouri to Virginia and all looked nice. NOT this one. It was horrible. When we found our room, you had to jiggle the handle to get it in the right position before the key would work. Then when you got the key to work, you had to put your shoulder into the door to get it to open because it was off centered and rubbing the door frame. Once we got inside the room, it was disgusting. The light in the hall way was burned out, the comforter and bed sheets had stains on them and didn't look washed, the chair was old and the armrest had holes in it, the bathroom counter was disgusting and obviously hadn't been cleaned, the ceiling above the shower was falling down & their was a pair of some type of bugs on the ceiling getting it on! We stayed long enough to pick our bags up and head back to the front desk! When I got to the front desk to cancel my rooms, she wouldn't give me my money back for the first night bit did for the second night (because you have to cancel 24hrs in advance) I was just glad to be getting out of there! When asked why I was cancelling, I told her the reasons I mentioned above and all she said was, I will be glad to move you to another room!

Wow! Pros: has a mini fridge, microwave, hair dryer and safe. Beds were comfortable. Continental breakfast offered cereal, mini doughnuts & mini muffins that we're decent. Cons: that which made it a one-star: sliding door to pool was broken (see pic), All other 2 star infractions: odd (suspicious? ) flash from the TV …, there was a hair in the bed, edges of room are clearly not cleaned, zip-lock bag under the bed, large mish-mash of furniture fabric is stained, broken lamp shade, cleanliness of bathroom just passable. Card in room said if forgot essentials "Come to the front desk", but when we did, there were no toothbrushes. Continental breakfast had stale mini bagels, rubber textured scrambled eggs that were barely warm, no bacon or sausage. Summary: Not well maintained. Ok in a pinch, but Holiday Inn Express is right next door…

I have stayed here once before. I like it here it's very clean and comfortable. Your staff are friendly and helpful. I plan to stay here each time I come in this area. The you.

It was the filthiest, stinking, run-down place that I have ever seen still in business. Complete with spiders. The bathroom had no towels only a floor mat. It smelled of strong urine in the bathroom. It was supposed to be non-smoking it was supposed to be a non-smoking room it reaked of cigarette smoke. There was an exposed electrical box over the shower enclosure and open hole in the wall with pipes running through. The bathtub had a steady stream of water running that could not be cut off. No hot water. Dirty walls, paint falling off. Cracked lamp shade. I'm sure if someone reported them code enforcement would close it down. People lingering and smoking outside the front door. The pool area was dark. It was sketchy to say the very least. The entire Outdoors did not appear safe. I demanded my money back and got it. Warning stay away!

So let me begin by saying the staff were all very professional and welcoming. The pool was good and the breakfast was nice. However, the general appearance was that the inn is in great! Need of remodeling. The rooms are clean looking the beds are not very comfortable and I had second thoughts about using the shower. Very in need of updates. Overall at most 2.5 stars.

Attended a wedding reception here in the hall they have. It was nice looking and seemed roomy. The lady working the front desk seemed bothered by "us" being there. This IS Salem, VA so they don't like too many of "our kind" in "their" city. During the reception, they refused to turn the AC up. It was very, very hot and stuffy. I guess it's a good place to go if your skin isn't naturally, God given tanned.

While I'm sure some improvements have been made, I am deeply disappointed that I spent over $200 on a room that was beyond sad. The window dressings have been updated, new beds, nice furniture, fridge and microwave, and some updated wall coverings; but sadly, the dilapidated bones stood out so much that the effect was lost. We checked in around 2am after looking for a room for 2 hours and many miles. Charging someone $200 at that time of night is nothing short of highway robbery. Once we were given a room, we were instructed to go around "the corner, " to the back of the building to go up to our room. There is apparently no elevator to the second floor. We walked into an unlocked door and were assualted by the smell pf dogs and urine. We were greeted by the same smell this morning when we were leaving. Once we managed to get ourseleves and our nag up the creepy back stairs, we entered pur room and were overwhelmed by both the smell and the heat and humidity from a room that had been closed for who knows how long without any air flow. We managed to get the air conditioner going, and having been on the road for hours, I hit the bathroom. And… could not open the door the entire way because the toilet blocked the door. That's right, the door was stopped from opening by the TOILET. One look around and I decided that I would rather wait the 4 hours it would take for us to get home than shower there.

Only room available was a suite, which meant more expensive, the key to the suite side didnt work, if less rooms were suites they would have more rooms available for guests… And the price could be better.

The man working the front desk had baan drinking; I overlooked that and checked in anyway. This place is old and run down. The bathroom fixtures leak and the place has an overall unclean appearance. Next time in the area, if it is all that's available, I'll keep moving.

Not the cleanest and the breakfast was so so but the Wi-Fi worked fine and the bed was comfortable. So overall an ok little hotel for the price.

It is a cheaper hotel. It's one of those you get what you pay for. It didn't cost much but it wasn't the best.

The hotel is good enough for a one or two night stay. The room is clean and bed is comfy. The bathroom needs so work. It just feels dated. The bathroom door handle should be replace as it is not easy to open. I could see a kid or older person getting stuck in the bathroom. Location is great. It's right off the interstate. Breakfast was what I expected. Not great but it was included so we saved $20 or more.

I don't care what rate a hotel charges, cleanliness shouldn't be overlooked. Plus they jacked the regular rates up because of a busy weekend. I will not use this hotel chain again. Had opened and used soap in bathroom and counter was dirty. Had to go and buy Lysol and wipes to clean!

Poorly decorated in the bathroom. Paint looks like it was applied by a child. Internet connectivity in business center was poor. Very slow.

We are heading home in a few days and planning to stop back there again. Like the cleanliness the place was. All and all was a great stay.

When I checked in, the front desk clerk gave us a better rate than the one we got online. The only minor issues we had were that the roll-away mattress my son used was too thin and the toilet had come partially loose from the floor. Otherwise, it was a nice room.

First room smelled of dog urine and cigarettes, disgusting. Pet urune pads people. Other people stay in these rooms. Moved us to another room, blood on bed duvet and pillow case. Hall stinks. Our first time here was a much better experience. I hope management dedicates room to people specifically with pets and other rooms between smokers/non-smoker with/without pets. Will not stay here again.

Let's get right to the ugly truth about this hotel, the getting closer and closer you get details show about it after all. There was a very disgusting truth about this place. Problem in this hotel there is no elevator to start with to access the second floor. You must make your way down the hallways to some very questionable staircases locations, once you finallu find the staircase. There is alsp a cleanliness problem that they don't attend to, but wait there is a added bonus of a very odd smell and oder. Rooms are nice, but they can fix the disgusting bug infestation near the windows I rather move on to another hotel.

COMPLETELY INFESTED WITH STINK BUGS! This hotel is absolutely horrible, do not stay here.

Old, particularly renovated, horrid paint on doors, canopy damaged, old building materials near guest entrance, cargo containers stored in parking lot, guests on balcony watching me unload, building entrance not locked, power outlets have new cover but outlets are dirty and yellowed, wall coverings replaced but old tub and faucets, nice new bedding, nice new Baymont signs. Place creeped me out.

I travel for a living and spend about 60 days a year in a hotel room. My mattress was exceptional, the front desk and management made me feel at home. I was shocked to see full menu breakfast and cookies out in the afternoon. I really enjoyed my 12 day stay and will do so again next year!

Superb service in all respects. The handyman Walter was more than willing and able to fix a small telephone problem (for him) but not or us in a matter of minutes after we notified front desk.

This is our second stay at Baymont and we were not disappointed. We had a great stay both trips. We just love the employees, they are all so nice and remembered us from first visit. It's in a beautiful setting and great for pets. Very convenient from I-81 and you don't have to drive far into town to find good restaurants. Ask front desk for recommendations, we enjoyed both local places staff told us about. I sleep great on the feathery down comforter and pillow top bed. I think all rooms have fridges and large flat panel televisions. Very nicely decorated rooms and great price.

We loved everything about this hotel. Great location and the views are nothing short of spectacular. Rooms were so clean and my husband and I slept best we ever have before. We are going to make this our regular stop when traveling from North to South like we do every year. The price was great and staff was very nice. I could go on and on.

For a quick overnight stay with my dog, this place was perfect. Friendly staff welcomed us with charming southern hospitality and the room and bedsheets were nice and clean. The cost was very reasonable and, after a good nights sleep, I enjoyed the continental breakfast that included home-made gravy.
