This is a good place to eat if you are looking for a home cooked meal. The food is good. The staff is friendly and Inviting. So get you a home cooked meal at Sheldon.

Buffet only offering due to virus. Was okay with that, except it seemed like it had been there all day and they were just trying to get rid of the leftover lunch buffet. Rolls so hard they could have caused injury if thrown. Another customer asked for fresh ones, but they had no more rolls for the night. Everything else on bar lukewarm at best, some items cold. Don’t know if I’ll come back, but if I do, it will be after the virus is gone and everything is back to normal. Visited on 10/7/2020 around 5:30 — 5:45 pm.

It's a nice place to go to for a vacation and its clean with no bugs so that's always a plus.

Went for dinner and the buffet food was disappointing. Ribs were tough, some chicken was raw, rolls were hard, Waitress gave bill mid meal and then never showed back up for refills. Never going back. Not the same as it used to be.

Great food and friendly service.

Enjoyed the buffet. Our favorites were the chicken (crispy on the outside, so moist on the inside), and the mac cheese. Enjoyed ribs, shrimp, greens, so many good down to earth foods. We will return. Some have suggested the great tasting chocolate pie. Looking forward to it.

This is an old fashioned down home cookin' restaurant. If you are an epicurean who can't eat a green bean if it doesn't crunch when you bite into it, this is not your cup o' tea. Buffet for 13.99 has a wide variety from fried shrimp to fried chicken gizzards. Also baked chicken, yams, mac n' cheese, cooked carrots, peas, well cooked green beans… salad bar is limited… soup… sometimes really good. This food fills the hole, but it is a far cry from a fine restaurant, and it really doesn't strive to be one… it's a hometown favorite…

Sheldon's is a blast from the past. People were extremely he! April and pleasant. Buffet was great with multiple choices, great taste, worth the price. The room, we took the cottage, will keep us returning. Huge bathroom, comfortable beds, controllable temperature. The internet was slow, but serviceable. Try Sheldon's, you will be very satisfied.

BEDBUGS IN ROOM 35 IN AUGUST 2018! I've included a picture of my back showing about half of the bedbug bites I received after staying a single night in room 35. Forget all the other problems this shabby, run down motel is suffering from. THIS is a public health issue. I now have more than FIFTY (50) bedbug bites on my back, arms, legs, hands, and feet. I've had to throw away most of the clothing I had in my luggage for this trip, put my bags out in the garage for disposal, and made a visit to my doctor to get hydrocortisone cream and oral steroids to deal with the swollen, painful, itchy bites where parasitic insects were feeding on my blood while I sleep! Since the bedbugs inject their saliva into your body while they are drinking your blood, the many bites weep a crusty bit of plasma as the anti-coagulant does it's job. These bites can last for 2-3 weeks and are frankly disgusting and completely preventable. this is unacceptable! do not stay here!

The motel is adequate. Vintage style and smallish, but clean and comfortable. The family restaurant is terrific, definitely a favorite with locals. The breakfast was great (they bake their own biscuits and pies) and customer service was outstanding.

When we arrived there were 5 dirty tables that hadn't been cleared and it took a while before they were cleaned which had people waiting. Food good but could have a little more diversity. The sweet potato yams and sweet potato pie was entirely too sweet and the white potatoes were under cooked. The atmosphere however was nice and homey.

Good down home country cooking. Great friendly staff. Been around almost 100 years for a reason. Recommend the ham with the raisin sauce, the greens, the fried chicken, & rolls. They also have an all you can eat buffet. So if your in Charlotte County would highly recommend, heck if you’re in a 25 mike radius I highly recommend stopping by Sheldon’s. If it gets too late they also have a hotel out back.

Quiet motel with a nice staff. Room was clean, and certainly worth the rate. The venue is in the middle of nowhere, so if you are looking for a city-scape this probably isn't the place for you, but as a quiet country escape, this is certainly the place. The restaurant attached to the motel has a nice buffet and a decent menu as well. If you are simply passing through on your way to somewhere more populated, it is worth stopping in for the evening to take a much needed travel break because this place is plenty quiet! … post script, these folks cut me a slice of country ham for breakfast that came straight out of the smokehouse! May be one of the best things i've ever tasted.

We had an annual after Christmas family dinner here again tonight. There were 40 of us and we had a private room and all eat from the buffet. The food was better than last year, not to well seasoned but overall good food. The sweet potatoes were terrific as always. Like the addition of the dessert selections. Service was good, the young ladies were very friendly and provided really good, caring service. Over all a very pleasant evening.

Sheldon's got the come up. My brother in-law bought my dinner tonight. I can honestly say that I had a good meal and plenty of it. We both had the buffet which included much to choose from. Since it is Friday I started with the fish, boiled potatoes, greens, black eye peas and stewed tomatoes. That all went down well so I decided to finish with some more fish and fresh baked spoon bread made by Betty Baldwin. She says that she usually makes it on Thursday and Friday. Whoops Christy Clark-Bolden forgot to mention the corn pudding. Creamy and good.

Update: 10/19/17
Today I talked with the owner Dharmendra a Patel, he explained that I was charged the additional money for stains that could not be removed from the linens and towels (coffee and makeup), not because I had stolen them. He was very apologetic for the treatment I received from his employee over the phone. I understood that w whole lot better than being accused of stealing. He even offered to have his employee call and apologize to me as well, which I told him was not necessary, him contacting me was enough. He even offered to refund me my money and did even after I told him not to do because I did have makeup on the wash clothes and my daughter did make a coffee mess. Thank you, Mr. Patel, for reaching out to me and getting this issue corrected. I changed my review from a 1 star to a 4 star. As stated before, the rooms are clean, enjoyed how the parking was directly in front, and the quietness. The spiders were the only terrible thing, and that was because of the little ones. Stayed her with family Oct 6th-8th. Room was clean I give that a plus. Outside the room was covered with spiders and webs. I understand this is in the country however a daily or every other day sweep of the outside area would control the millions of spiders that greet you at the door. Checked out and few days later found that my card had been charged additional money, when called back was told rudely that I had stolen 2 pillowcases, 1 sheet and 2 towels.

First time here. It's wonderful. Nice curious staff, the room spelled so fresh and clean it made me want to eat the air. I will always recommend this motel. The food is also good too. The price was just perfect for us.
