Took 2 hours. Food cold. Waiter rude. Never again. Atmosphere wonderful! Food good, but cold and left hungry.

Celeste and the entire staff made us feel right at home as soon as we got out of the car. The ambience of the French decor, music and cleanliness of the place is worth mentioning. Every snack and meal was prepared to perfection. I loved their Cheese Charcuterie. Thank you for making our stay so awesome! We left feeling rejuvenated.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The staff was incredibly helpful. The food was exquisite. The fireplace in our room was so beautiful and added a sparkle to our visit. ❤️

Had a spectacular dinner for our anniversary. Every course was amazing, perfectly prepared and paired with amazing wines. Could not have asked for better service, better food or a better experience. Kudos to the staff as I know it takes an amazing group of individuals to make the magic happen.

We couldn't have asked for a better anniversary dinner. Food, wine and setting were all top notch. Great service — learned a lot about the wine and enjoyed every aspect of the evening.

So happy to be back out again to one our favorites! Great dishes in the bistro. Particularly enjoyed the scallops in a light sauce with miniature mushrooms corn and more. Mussels and fried chicken awesome as well. Next time we will do the chef’s tasting. Thanks!

The chef’s tasting menu and wine pairing is phenomenal… the savory and artistically presented chef’s selection paired perfectly with amazing over the top wine choices, the service is exceptional, the ambiance leaves you in awe, and the Somalia’s knowledge and hospitality was a true life experience! 5 stars for this amazing place!

Rooms were beautiful! Food was excellent! Staff was very friendly and service was excellent.

The food was good. However, the service is lacking. Server never came back to serve my husband water and glass remained empty almost the entire dinner. We made reservations and they had it wrong. They changed the reservation but made us feel that they were highly inconvenienced. The bill was wrong twice. It was kind of awkward having to point out their mistake. Their attention to the customer and to details is subpar.

L’Auberge is just a wonderful place. We’ve been several times since my husband proposed to me here. It’s the perfect relaxing, romantic, and cozy getaway from DC. The staff and owners are always super friendly and welcoming and the food is some of the best I’ve ever had (their burger and fried chicken are both to die for). The wine is always better than excellent and the sommelier Christian is super friendly and really knows his stuff and loves to talk about wine which we love to do too. On our recent visit they went above and beyond and made gluten free muffins for breakfast (which were excellent too)! I wish I could live here :).

Every visit to the restraurant and stay at the inn has been a truly wonderful experience. Each room I've stayed in was quiet and comfortable. The grounds are tranquil and simply beautiful. The meals I've enjoyed at the restaurant are always perfectly prepared and generously portioned. I highly recommend this destination for anyone whether they're looking for a bite to eat or a get away to the country! It's perfect for all occasions!

Just got home from a weekend at L’Auberge with my husband. Our stay was wonderful in every aspect! We stayed in the Chagall room which was both comfortable and beautiful. All the staff members were pleasant and helpful, and the food at the inn is phenomenal! No detail has been overlooked at this bed and breakfast. We can’t wait to return.

My husband took me for Valentine’s Day dinner on Saturday. I was excited as we have been several times before and it was a lovely experience. This time, however, the food was disappointing and the service was quite poor.

The villa was so quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was delicious. Loved the friendly cat and dog! Amazing hospitality.

Stayed here the first night of our 2 week road trip from Philly to Asheville and back. Really wish we could spend more than one night here! To sum it up, gracious, caring staff (everyone! ), beautiful, peaceful grounds, immaculately kept inn and lovely spacious French-country rooms. But, the best part, the food! Spectacular presentation and farm-to-table freshness. That paired with the detailed and delicious French flair is hard to come by. We had dinner at their new bistro/bar which was perfect. We aren’t whiskey drinkers, but their whiskey offerings were impressive! It was just what we were looking for. We will definitely be back! ❤️

This is the best bed & breakfast my husband and I have stayed at. The rooms are nicely decorated, spacious, and clean. There are lots of thoughtful details throughout the property. The breakfast is out of this world delicious. The owner was extremely pleasant, and gave excellent suggestions on things to do in the area. Can’t wait to return!

Ashley and I just got married at L’Auberge Provencale. It was an amazing experience. The food and venue was incredible. The staff were attentive and made everything easy on us. If you are looking for a small, intimate location for your wedding… look no further.

We held our elopement at L’Auberge Provençale. Every detail was handled so thoughtfully and our special day was amazing. We enjoyed our entire stay. Our room was beautiful. Celeste and the entire team were so easy to work with. They all really went above and beyond to make this a memorable experience for us. I can’t wait to celebrate more special occasions here in the future!

Fathers Day. We were almost the only party in the main dinning room. Service was VERY slow. Painful. Food was pretty as always (we've been there a couple times), but this nite not so appetizing. I had the Snapper and it was dry. Others dishes were just 'so so'. Could have done better at IHOP. Called the next day to complain to owner,, and he said he would 'make it right' (whatever that means). But he did nothing. At this price, and I mean Pricey. You expect exceptional,. And it certainly wasn't. Won't be going back.

My wife planned a 2-day staycation here for our 5-year anniversary. We absolutely loved our time here. The owners and staff are incredibly attentive in making your experience the best that it can be. Our dining experiences here were equally amazing. The first night, we sat at the bar and shared small plates from the appetizer menu. The second night, we sat down for a 5-course dinning experience that was truly exceptional! L'Auberge is our new local favorite that will seeing more of us over the coming months!

L'Auberge Provencal is a Bed & Breakfast Inn dating back to the mid 1700s. It boasts nothing short of superb and authentic French (Francais) food available in their dining area on the main floor. Although I have never stayed overnight, my family and I have thoroughly enjoyed the cuisine for well over 20 years and highly recommend it. We know the family personally and a more accommodating and delightful bunch is hard to find. If you are looking for a treat I suggest going in the late Spring or Summer so you can walk the grounds and take in the majestic view while it is still light outside. Bon Appetit!

My fiancée and I stayed here in the room with the Soaking tub and it was an amazing stay. The room was fantastic. The bed was comfortable, but being able to take a bath together in the Soaking tub was the best part. Plenty of hot water, bath salts provided, and plenty of room. Definitely recommend! Also, we had Dinner at the restaurant on the prix-fixe menu and every dosh was amazing. They also had gluten free bread that my fiancée loved. And the atmosphere and service were perfect. If you are on the fence go for it!

For my birthday, my husband wanted to do something extra special for me. He heard about L’Auberge Provencale B&B in Boyce Virginia.
First off, we want to mention how the staff was very personal and attentive to our needs. It was a great experience from the moment we arrived. We felt like a royal family. The formal room had homemade hot chocolate with pastries by the fire. Our room was decorated in a traditional French style with our own fire place.
The seven course diner was phenomenal. Each course was exquisite from the presentation, taste and the wine pairings.
I must mention the scallop dish. Using chemistry set at our table to infuse the herbs into the broth. A unique experience we haven’t forgotten.
There are a variety of attractions around to keep you busy during the day. We’ll be back again as we still need to discover them.
I highly recommend L’Auberge Provençale as a get away destination!

We have not stayed here, but the restaurant is absolutely top-notch, and the wine list is spectacular! The new wine bar is also a cozy way to enjoy a more casual experience. Love this place!

We live locally, so have never stayed overnight in a room. The restaurant however is absolutely fabulous! Delicious modern classic cuisine and top notch service. Great cocktails and excellent wine selections to top it off.

One of the best meals I've ever had. Room was great and comfortable bed. Helpful pleasant staff and family. Highly recommend. Only nit-picky comment: you could pretty easily hear your neighbors in other rooms — a little extra insulation or drywall would fix it.

My husband and I got away on a much needed retreat. We found this jewel. 'The rooms were exquisitely decorated, we stayed in the Chagall (fireplace and King bed) the art was distinctive, the food was superb and the staff professional and warm. We loved every minute. Celeste was such a delight. We will certainly return.

We had a lovely evening and highly recommend this Inn! Our room was clean and comfortable and we loved the feel of Provence! The bar area is nice and our dinner experience in the Dining Room with the price fixed menu was spectacular! The wine list is huge and a little overwhelming but the staff is all warm and helpful and it was a wonderful meal. We loved the fire in our room all night long! Oh and the breakfast was amazing as well!

A charming, family-run, french inspired bed and breakfast in the Shenandoahs. The food and wine are top notch, and on par with some of the better meals I’ve had in France and Europe. Go for a romantic weekend getaway, inclusive of a few nights away, in-room spa services, and the incredible tasting dinner!

Great bar and outstanding food. Food was an entire experience with new and fresh flavors. The service was great, they really give you your space to relax, enjoy your drink, your conversation without that annoying 'is everything ok? ' We only went for the restaurant but I would definitely stay a weekend here.

My husband and I went here for our 1st year wedding anniversary and enjoyed everything they had to offer. The staff was very welcoming and informative about what to do around town. The breakfast was perfect and the dinner was such a fun experience. They had personalized menus made for us at the table wishing us a happy wedding anniversary and gave us complimentary champagne. The rooms were spacious but we wish the fireplace had been working — we went in September, it was chilly, but they hadn't opened the fireplaces yet for the fall/winter season. However, to make up for it, they had a small bonfire at night and we sat around and chatted with other guests. We will definitely be going back!

Wonderful B&B with real French feel. Comfortable, beautifully decorated rooms, terrific restaurant with creative menu and extensive, interesting wine list. Have stayed here several times and will keep coming back. A bit of France in the beautiful Virginia countryside. The state arboretum is around the corner and Shenandoah Park and many wineries are an easy drive.

Took my girlfriend for a weekend away. The staff was great, and the room was decorated well, although the pictures from their website make them out to be somewhat more lavish. I'd say that's somewhat to be expected. My only complaint is that there is a requirement to have a reservation at their restaurant. The food was great and they prepared a separate menu for my girlfriend who is vegetarian. I just would've preferred to not have the requirement. To be fair this is only for weekend reservations. It was an overall great stay and would book again. Next time I'd book more in advance to have additional room options.

This Bed and Breakfast is fantastic. I stayed in the small cottage room "Voltaire 1. " The cottage was small but the rooms weren't! The King size bed was fantastically clean and SUPER comfortable! The small den area was huge compared to a hotel side room. The Bathroom was over the top great! Steam shower, fantastically clean sink and gorgeous tile floors. I arrived later than a typical check-in time (10pm) and was able to call ahead that afternoon and they made arrangements for me that were SUPER easy to follow. If you are looking for a 5-star Bed and Breakfast in this area this is it. Clean, comfortable, quiet, and gorgeous!

Spent 2 nights at this lovely inn. Service was superb. Staff friendly and helpful. Didn't eat in the restaurant, but had a wonderful cheese platter in the pub. Not inexpensive, but worth a short stay.

Excellent B&B and love the new bar. We have been to the near by Ashby Inn before, but L'Auberge is much better. The food and beverage was excellent, good flavor and well seasoned. We love the delicious little pastries available in the early afternoon, and our meal in the bar was superb. We stayed in a cottage room, which was nice, and really appreciated their attention to detail. We would definitely visit again. Only areas for improvement I would suggest to help fit the high price expectations would be office should not be such a mess at check in, needs more sound proofing between rooms by the garden, eggs Benedict in the morning was room temp rather than hot, and unfortunately the location by the road makes sitting outside to enjoy the countryside not as desirable.

Incredible dining/inn in White Post, VA. We have had several chef's tastings here over the last 5 years, and are so happy to have found this place. The food is delicious, innovative and wine pairings complement dishes spectacularly. Servers and staff pay attention to detail and are extremely friendly and welcoming. This is a must stop if you are in the area.

We had our first experience at L'Auberge in January and we are already planning a trip back! The property is on a busy highway as other reviews have mentioned, but we truly didn't even know it was there once we submerged ourselves in the whole experience — and our room faced that said busy highway! We stayed in the Chagall room and, having gone to college in southern France, I was immediately taken by the room's charming and tasteful decor — it took me back to Provence! This is important b/c when you're at a B&B during the winter, you need to want to spend a little time in your room. We've been to some very nice B&Bs and for some reason, few seem to pay attention to detail on the rooms themselves and you find yourself looking for an excuse to hang elsewhere. Not so here! The room was big enough for a sitting area, right next to the cutest cast iron fireplace ever — perfect for us to kick back and treat ourselves to a nice cabernet after a long hike through the Shenandoahs. And the staff will keep bringing logs up to your room — for as long as you want. We've read a lot of reviews that the restaurant is the star, and it truly is "a" star, but I think "the" star is in the people. L'Auberge's owners, Celeste and Alain, are the most charming but also down to earth couple ever. Please meet them if you stay! And their son, Christian, is not only a superb sommelier but also consummate host.

Amazing place. The rooms were adorable. Ours looked just like the photo on the website. Ordered a wine and cheese plate and the cheese plate was one of the best I've ever had and the wine they picked out went perfectly. We had dinner at the restaurant which was one of the best meals I've ever had. It was quite filling as well. Great service. We were here in the winter, but it looks like the grounds would be very nice for walking around when the weather is better.

We got a wonderful room on short notice and the staff was amazing. The owner happened to be there that night and we could tell that she is keenly interested in making L'Auberge Provencale a truly satisfying and first class experience. We will be back, I am sure.

This Inn was incredible! The room and staff were lovely. The diner Chef Ferrell created was out of this world. On par with The Inn of Washington and much less money. Very creative, beautiful presentation and delicious. Our waiter was great. He knew just when to be there. Great team work from the front door to the exit. A must try for foodies.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at L'Auberge Provencale Bed and Breakfast. We originally booked room in the villa, which is a few miles down the road from the main building and restaurant. The owners were so kind and gave us a free upgrade to on arrival. Our room is charming in every way with many modern amenities, making us feel that we are in the middle of France. We particularly enjoyed the array of books, magazines and games in the common area. Later we had the chance to look at other rooms in the building, which are all thoughtfully designed and very lovely. We had their four course dinner and the food was wonderfully prepared — fresh, innovative, delicious and beautifully presented. The breakfast had many choices and was freshly prepared by the owner himself. The environment is also beautiful and peaceful.

We decided at the last minute to have a little getaway. We stayed in room 7. What a wonderful room! We really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely recommend it to family and friends.

We had a great time. Simple and elegant at the same. The was absolutely second to none. The bar area is very inviting and the bartender was very, very knowledgeable. The wait staff was was very attentive and never pushy. The food was delicious and timed just right. We stayed one night in one of their spacious and comfortable room. The aromatic shower was very relaxing only to be topped off with a good night sleep. There is a very famous saying which we intend to follow: "We'll be back. "

My husband and I just finished a wonderful stay at L'Auberge Provencale! I can say I have never stayed anywhere with such incredible customer service — the room was wonderful and so comfortable — the food outstanding and a high point was talking with Alaine as he brought his Incredible breakfast to us. We stayed in The Villa which was so lovely — beautiful Virginia countryside. I wish that we had had the time to stay longer!

We had a wonderful time at the L’Auberge Provencale bed and breakfast in Boyce VA. We stayed in room 7 and the accommodation was suitable and clean. The breakfast was awesome, great selection, we did not try dinner as it was way too overpriced. The bed was not the most comfortable and we woke up each morning of our three night stay with back pains. Our biggest peeve is the noise at night from the restaurant. You could not get to to bed before 12.30 until everything is closed and the workers have left.

Second time we have stayed at L'Auberge and loved it as much the second time as the first. I highly recommend this place for the ambience, cuisine, and hospitality. We are in the hospitality business, and they are a model for us all to look up to.

It was amazing! We made our reservation partially due to their excellent French restaurant, and even though it was under renovation during our visit we still had an enchanting experience. The staff, especially Joshua at the front desk, went above and beyond to make sure we had a perfect visit. Our room was lovely — thoughtfully decorated, working fireplace, and the softest sheets I've ever slept on. The grounds are gorgeous (even in the dead of winter) and the food — from breakfast to middday snacks — was way above par! We were so reluctant to leave. My husband could not remember the last time he'd been so relaxed. If you're considering it — go! You will not regret it.

What a wonderful place to truely dine. The setting in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley could not be a better place to relax, dine, and enjoy a truely exceptional dining experience. The cuisine and service this good is simply not found outside of D. C. (sometimes not even inside). Also the wine list was pretty amazing, especially for the depth of vintages and selections of older bordeaux wines. This is a place where you bring your loved one and enjoy each others company.
