Its an older inn, but with nice amenities. The room was well laid out, clean and comfortable. There is a tv, Wi-Fi, fridge, microwave, and small coffee maker. Plenty of soft blankets for those who get cold at night and functioning heat/air as well.

Small, very quaint. I just needed a place to sleep and shower for a couple of days. I loved how all the amenities were conveniently put in areas that were convient. Beds are super comfortable and the room was very clean.

Nice and clean rooms, perfect for a short stay. The showers need to be just a bit bigger, you can barely turn around in it. Great place though.

My husband and I were very pleased with our stay. The room was very clean and had all the amenities you need. I can't think of one negative thing to say. Stayed 2 nights, but was not $50 a night. When I called to make reservation, was told 2 rooms left, but didn't look sold out like they told my son in law — unless they only had a few rooms remodeled. Didn't think to ask. Decided to stay there because it was close to my granddaughter's college, Sweet Briar, as my granddaughter was graduating from there. Room was clean, bed was comfy, had small fridge, microwave, coffeepot, iron and ironing board, and hair dryer. Shower was small, leaned over and hit my head on handle — no cut — maybe changing handle would help. Also had hand held shower which I prefer — most hotels don't have them.

Clean, nicely decorated, just what we needed at a reasonable price. Super comfy bed! Grab and go breakfast is just that, but Edith's Hwy 60 Diner is about to miles down the road and is delicious! Nice town and convenient to Lynchburg and Charlottesville.

I like the location, design of the building and the beds. Main complaint is that the shower is too small and not enough hot water pressure.

Small motel, but clean and efficient room. Didn't spend much time there, but bed and pillows were nice, Wi-Fi available and was close to where we needed to go in amherst.

Room was clean, neat and redecorated. Heat was noisy but worked as did all things. Pricy for one night but only option so can set prices. Better than couch offered by family and convenient. Bed firm, pillows firm and soft so slept well.

The proprietor was very helpful, providing recommendations for local food, a boat ramp, and even printing out directions upon request. The beds were extremely comfortable, as were the pillows. There wasn't a lot of noise in the room and I got a great night's sleep. Everything was perfectly clean and I didn't find any issues with the cleanliness of the room. The only reason I did not give them five stars was because of how small the shower is. I'm almost six feet tall and weigh 190 lbs, and I had a hard time washing my hair or anything that required me to lift my arms. If you are in the area I highly recommend staying here. Great room for a good price!

Beautiful and clean room. Gentleman at check in was friendly and even gave us a great recommendation for a dinner spot. Room on the small side but had everything we needed. Coffee maker in the room. So happy that we found this place and the drive on the curvy mountain road on the way in was amazing.

Cute as home made shoes. Room was very clean, so was the lot. No smoking rooms. They provide a nice area with table, chairs for smoking. Quiet here as well.

This is a really nice little place to stay. The rooms are very small, but kept quite clean and decorated nicely. I'll stay here again next time I'm in the area.

Clean. Check-in was fast and easy and receptionist was friendly and grave us some good local information and directions. Offered pastries and coffee and juice in the lobby. Thought it was a little pricey.

Don't be fooled by the modest exterior of this motel. The rooms are lovely, clean, and have all the amenities. The staff is lovely! And the price is very good! I'll be staying there again, every time I go up to Charlottesville for my class.

Very relaxing stay! The lobby was inviting and the clerk offered suggestion for dining as well as pointing us in the direction for other needs that may arise but when we stepped inside our room… we were very impressed! Not only was it clean but sweetly decorated providing for guest who are away from home. I look forward to staying again if our journey takes us that direction again.

Thought it was an amazing little place! Completely remodeled and maintained by people who take pride in their work. Not normally a motel person, but this was cleaner than many 3.5 star hotels Ive been in across the country.

Very average, not incredible, not bad. Nothing really stands out to me, that is a good thing. It's kept pretty nice.

Rooms were very clean, with some nice updates. Owners were very nice and accommodating. Great place to stay while traveling.

My husband and I stayed here in November, 2016. We were extremely happy with the location, the staff and the accommodations. The room was super clean and nicely appointed. The owner and his family were very welcoming. Since my husband is 6' 3" tall, it was a bit tight for him in the shower, other then that, we enjoyed our stay.

We did a family hike of the Application Trail and used Amherst Inn as a base-camp for one night. It was a comfortable and clean stay.

This hotel was very nice — actually very elegant. The outside property was very clean and when I stepped into the lobby it too was very nice and elegant. The room I had was very nice. The beds were beautifully made and plenty of pillows and blankets. I found the room to immaculately clean. The bath room had soap and shampoo dispensers instead of little bars of soaps and bottles. Great stay!

The place is clean. Nice. The owners are super nice. The prices are great.

Wife and I spent the night here before taking a motorcycle tour of the Blue Ridge Parkway & Skyline Drive, and I made the decision based on price. The motel, although small, was clean and comfortable. The family (I assume) owners were friendly and attentive. We got exactly what we expected; we're likely to stay here again the next time we pass through. It was an excellent value.

Needed an overnight stay to be at my sisters wedding. Very clean, very friendly and inexpensive. Definitely would stay here again.

Stayed there for one night, perfect setting, clean beds with clean bathrooms. As a student, this was well worth the money. The hosts were really nice people too.

Friendly staff. Online reservations available. Very clean. Safe location. McDonalds and gas station right across the street. 24 hour check in. Looks like the bathrooms have been redone. Comfy beds. Includes free Wi-Fi and all for $54.00 AFTER tax. Can't beat it. Highly recommend. Hotels 22 miles the road are going for $89 for then lower end chains. Staying for business and will continue to come back.

Stayed here in May of 2011. Great place for the money! It's a bit old, but very reasonably priced (50 bucks for a 2 people/2 beds). It was very clean. The pillows and mattresses are divine! Shower is a bit small, but the shower itself worked great as did everything else. The room smelled nice. It was small, but that's all we needed for a night. I would definately stay there again. The staff was very friendly as well. They may have changed hands because some of the other reviews are way off from our experience…

Stayed here in Nov 2010 while deer hunting. Was clean, dry, and warm the staff was friendly and accomodating. Am going to book again for the end of the month for turkey season. Very reasonably priced will definatly recomend and stay again.
