Our stay at this place was the most unpleasant stay I've ever had! The Customer Service Rep didn't even know what she was doing. Upon arrival we were told that our reservation was canceled for whatever reason. Then we booked another room and the room we stayed in was dirty! The room smelled like dog urine and the couch bed springs were broken and my son had to sleep on it falling through. No cable in the room, no iron, no phone in case of an emergency! Sheets were dingy and dirty and carpet was hard and sticky. The bathroom floor has hairs from the previous stay! Worst experience EVER!

A clean and reasonably located hotel, recently renovated, sloppily renovated, but acceptable. Very quiet, clean bathroom and bedding, but new lamps, ugly wall art and a boutique headboard for the bed does not a chic room make. The older furniture is very worn next to the new stuff, and the paint is sloppy and hideous in color. Carpet is clean but office like. I had to reverse the sleeper sofa and end table to get the sitting room lamp to an outlet, but I was overall pleased with the hotel, and my notes are trivial. But I do believe the nightly rate was a bit high for all the cut corners. One last issue was that the pool was still closed in 95 degree west Texas heat, and obviously had not been maintained well. But in a pinch this place is one I would recommend.

This is a nice, clean, quiet place to stay We stay two nights with no issues. It doesn't have the highest star rating, but it does what hotels do and we felt safe and welcome. The staff were friendly and knew the town of Lubbock rather well. Quick to answer any of our questions. We would stay here again if and when the time comes.

I was very happy with both the staff and the rooms. Very nice. I will definitely stay there again.

We were a bit skeptical at first after reading some negative reviews. We called and confirmed the hotel renovations were complete. The hotel was very clean, staff was friendly and helpful (especially Leo) rooms were neatly decorated. Beds were comfy. We would definitely recommend and stay again ourselves.

When I walked in and it was immaculate and very comfortable. The employees there or very friendly and greeted me very fondly I would definitely recommend my friends and family to stay there during their travels and Main Events.

The front desk man, Leo Garcia was a pleasure to work with. He is truely a model employee with manager potential. The hotel was great and is located just a short distance from the heart of Lubbock.

The room was sub par for the price I paid. The manager was extremely rude and the breakfast was very cold!

This was quite possibly the most disgusting hotel I’ve stayed at, and I’ve stayed at some bad ones over the years. Stains in the couch and on the bed. Stains on the towels. No hot water for baths or showers. The hotel was under construction which was not shared on the website. The breakfast bar was GROSS. The donuts appeared to be days old. Trash cans were overflowing with garbage. Every open space at the breakfast bar was covered in food debris. The only thing remotely worth eating was the waffle and that was because you made it yourself, although the machine containing the batter was also dirty and gross. The room looked to have been painted recently, but there were paint splatters everywhere, and most of the bathroom door handle was painted over too. They also gave us one towel for a room obviously booked for three people. On three separate occasions we had to get the key cards replaced because either they didn’t work at all or stopped working. Once we all got locked out of the room altogether even though we had both keys. The mattress was also hard and lumpy and worn out. Save yourself from this fresh hell and stay elsewhere.

I have not ever experienced a disgusting hotel ever! This was definitely the first, the hotel was under construction when me and my family went and the entire place had this awful stinch to it. We got to our room and it look pretty decent until we took our showers, the shower WASN’T CLEAN AT ALL! The towels and floor where both dirty, and the bad was made but was gross! There was someone else’s hair in the bad along with food crumbs. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! I most definitely will never stay at a Howard Johnson ever agian! They need to maybe get better room service/ laundry people!

Person in front desk not attentive, elevator dirty (floor, corners, walls, ) Windows need cleaning things missing in room. Phone didn't work and was dirty. This could be a good place too stay but they need better housekeeping public area's are very important (appearances are very important too customers)

Looks like they are trying to make it look good but needs lots of work. But blood spots on a pillowcase just turns it completely to a no stay again for me.

Nope. Don't do it. Pick another motel, literally any other one in Lubbock, or just keep driving. This place was the nastiest motel I've ever stayed in and I'm not happy I actually paid money to sleep here. Roaches, questionable stains and burns all over the bedding, carpet wasn't vacuumed and they were in the process of "renovating" which just means that they sloppily repainted the walls and doors while splattering paint all over the carpet and everything else in the room. I was afraid to walk around in the room without my shoes on, and little roaches actually ran over my feet when I went to use the bathroom at night like some bad movie. The "breakfast" was also a joke, the only edible part was the packaged oatmeal unless you enjoy rock hard biscuits or bagels. Just don't stay at this motel.

The hotel management there is awesome! Always willing to extend a helping hand and eager to please the guests! I bet the returned business rates are high! Thank-you Howard Johnson and Mike!

Could have been a little cleaner. Could have smelled a little less. That might have been the cleaning materials but it was very strong. That could have been a little softer. Hotel workers were nice.

Beds were comfortable and big, also the rooms were clean. The people at the front desk were also very courteous and professional.

Dirty. Made reservations and tried to change date 30 minutes later since we're traveling and wanted to go further. We told them we wanted to change date to when we were coming back through and they tried to charge me for the day anyway. So we stayed. They're were stains all over the floor and chairs, not from food or beverage. It was gross!

While the bed was fairly comfortable (except for the fact that there was no comforter, just a thin throw blanket), there wasn't much else to love. The tub/shower was dirty, the carpets in the room were filthy and needed to be replaced, the room was poorly laid out, and nothing had been updated in a while. In the morning, the breakfast was messily laid out, there were very few options, and what was out was either stale, running low, or tepid. We weren't expecting a gourmet meal by any means, but the front desk clerk was the only employee in the hotel (that we saw), and he was simultaneously cleaning the upholstery on a chair, overseeing the breakfast, answering phones, and facilitating check-ins and check-outs. All in all, it was a roof over our heads and a bed in which to sleep and little more than that.

Terrible customer service. I am a Diamond member, I tried explaining the rewards to the lady at the desk and she told me she was to busy. Totally ignored me. I told her I would need to talk to a manager and she said they would not be in until tomorrow. Then I said I would have to call customer service and she said go right ahead. She had no clue about the reward program, just as most of the hotels that advertise do not as well. Very rude employee. The bed is like a rock and all I could smell was cleaning solution that irritated me eyes. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

Our room had a urine smell, the bed spread had spots of unknown origin. I asked front desk for fresh bedding. There were no other hotels or rooms available in town. I seriously considered sleeping in the car. There was no complimentary breakfast. It was dingy, dirty and musty. In a nutshell, dont stay here.

Very good location only the breakfast will need to be more broad and not be just bread and cereal.

The rooms were nice, very clean, and the people at the counter were kind. We had to leave before the time breakfast was served and they were kind enough to have breakfast for us before we left. Superb service, would definitely recommend.

This place was great! The beds are so comfortable! And it was VERY clean! I've read reviews about "bad location" or "didn't feel safe" I did not experience this at all! Over all good stay.

So clean! Good customer service, they even called me to confirm my reservation the night of my reservation. Nice looking pool, and the room has everything I need in a work stay. I felt so comfortable here.

This was the nastiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The only reason I gave it 1 star is because I had to. Our sheets had blood on them, there was a bloody band aid in the hall for 2 days until I told the front desk. My bathtub was dirty when I arrived. There was trash behind the refrigerator and everywhere else I turned. Talking to the front desk was a joke, they continuously lied about resolving our issues and the manager/owner would never speak to us. We were given a new room with clean sheets, but the room was still not clean. Had we not checked in at 3 am I would not have stayed there. This was a bad representation of a Wyndham property. stay away from this place! it is trash!

I booked this hotel because it was very economical — what I needed at this point. The room was acceptable — but you could tell there was wear and tear. Iron burn in the carpet, only one bedside table for the queen bed, the sprinkler system nozzle was surrounded by paper towels crammed into the ceiling, carpet did not appear clean or vacuumed, lamp on the desk was missing a bulb. Pretty sure the sheets were clean — but not crisp and obviously clean. The staff when I checked in was very helpful — the other days I had no interaction to rate. Breakfast was minimal — but workable.

I liked this hotel. This very clean. The only thing I did not like is that there is no pressure the water from the shower.

The hubicacion was good because I was around the bars and restaurants and clean rooms and free breakfast.

I was visiting a friend staying there. The rooms appeared clean and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was provided but didn't have the opportunity to eat it. It wasn't anything special but appeared to be decent.

The place was well priced and clean. The room was big and the bed was nice. The only problem was a horrible tapping sound that went on all night.

Staff friendly, room very outdated, bed uncomfortable, dirty room overall. Do not recommend. Worst room I have ever stayed in.

The water heater was obviously nowhere near the third floor; it'd be a four star rating, but there weren't enough amenities to boost my rating.

The room itself was great but the small amount of stars was for their breakfast and staff. The breakfast was not good. The apple juice tasted like it was watered down extremely and the buscuits tasted like cardboard. My little sister then resumed to bring the food to the room because we had to get ready for the day and they told her, a 12 year old, she wasnt allowed to take food to the room. I wouldnt have minded if they told her politely, but they had a poor attitude toward her.

As a parent I stayed here during my child's orientation at Texas Tech. I was not impressed. Check in is not until 3pm. The room, while organized, was dirty. Everything fob the sheets, blanket, carpet and all table tops where sticky to varying degrees. The ironing board may well have been used as a prep surface for meat with the ridiculous number of stains. The TV reportedly had 100+ channels but only a hand full came in well and with sound. The air conditioner did cool but never approached cold. But I can say the bathroom was nice and clean but I did find a hole behind the faucet. Looked like a plumbing repair. Good selection on the breakfast bar. Avoid.

Booked my Graduation party here everything went very smoothly great price great atmosphere really nice employees very affordable would recommend.

I have never left a negative review on a hotel stay — I understand places look different than you might see in pictures online — but I felt the need to post about this one. Checked in around midnight. Lock on the door to the room was broken (see picture), appeared as if the room had been forced into previously. Lighting outside was insufficient, vehicles were crowded around the front entrance to the hotel — some vehicles were even parked in places that weren't marked parking spots to avoid parking in the dimly lit areas of the parking lot. Power cord to the television was missing. Several people loitering out in front of the hotel. Overall, a very unsettling situation. Front desk staff was kind, but we still left to stay somewhere else due to these safety concerns. This is the first time we have ever done that, we are not difficult travelers. We requested a refund, but were refused. When we called the next day management continued to assure us that we'd made a mistake by leaving and that it was a "safe hotel. " And, maybe we just arrived on a bad night and everything that could go wrong, went wrong. But, just posting about our experience. Hopefully these concerns have been fixed.

I will not go back. Carpet in the room was filthy, didn't realize until I walked on it barefoot and when I put my socks back on my feet were filthy black. Checked out 3 days ago and my debit card has not even been processed through my bank. The rooms are dark and dreary. Vent fan in the bathroom didn't work and the room was humid all night after a shower. The staff was friendly enough, but just got a bad overall feel of the place.

The hotel was nice and the staff was polite. My husband and I only stayed for one night and it served its purpose. The room was clean and the hotel has a 100% no smoking policy which I liked.

BEST SERVICE EVER, immediately greeted by nice staff, the employs are very helpful, overall this is a nice place to stay, very clean, oh and the food is great. Will stay here again next time I'm in Lubbock!

Convenient place for a quick overnight stay. Not a five star hotel but comfortable.

Elevator were so dirty, booked into a room, and it smelled like wet carpet, even though the front desk staff was quite polite and moved me to another room, it's sad to say my how this hotel is deteriorating. This room the toilet seat was broken, had no finesse. Bathroom floor filthy and spiders all over.

For being such a well known hotel chain you would think that they could provide a better room. 1) the floor would have been more comfortable to sleep on, bed was too hard, 2) the free breakfast was not very good, dry cereal, make your own waffle, donuts, muffins, milk, orange and apple juice. Where is eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy? I refuse to stay here again.

For $50 is hard to beat. The rooms are reasonably clean (meaning they won't take obvious trash off any counter/table top while you still have the room), but the furniture is poorly laid out. The rooms could use some sprucing up and a few more towels. The "guest" Wi-Fi sucks! Weak signal and very little bandwidth. However you can sign into the other network with the same password. That one is a little better, but still no bandwidth. Breakfast is edible. However the jackhammer biscuits and glue like gravy leave something to be desired. If they have orange juice your lucky.

Room was as expected for an Howard Johnson. It was updated some. We booked a room with a queen bed and a sleeper sofa, the sleeper sofa was broken, they didn't have any other rooms to move us to. Mike the Manager said, no problem, I won't charge you but he did anyway and when I showed him the bill he said … I cannot change it… Lying sack of Shit! These people are terrible liars, I called 3 times and got the run around each time. When I was able to speak to Mike he said I am a fair man, Listen to me… listen to me… I will give you a free room… Yea right his word is not dependable. The food, well I didn't come for the food… Mike stood in the dinning area watching everyone so as they won't eat too much of his 2nd hand day old food. Very poor, won't recommend nor ever stay there again.

Booked through Expedia. Tried to check in after a long road trip at 2:30AM and hotel did not have my room or any other room available. Instead of trying to help find another room or offer any solution, the response was "It's not my problem". Worst service I have ever experienced. Re-booked a room for the next night through the Howard Johnson as to avoid problems with Expedia again, and what do you know? When I arrive at my allotted check in time, the hotel had no reservation and no remorse for their goof up. I was given the exact same response, this time by the manager, "It is not my problem". And I was again sent out on the streets to find a hotel in a booked up town. The worst hotel experience I have ever had, would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

The room my husband and I had smelled very chemically, but so did the hallway. Our fridge didn't work, our coffee maker didn't work, out remote had no batteries and our lamps and alarm clock were all unplugged. I plugged in the alarm clock, but I couldn't get it to set. The person at the reception desk was able to set it, but he did not know how to set the alarm, and couldn't figure it out. Fortunately since he couldn't figure out how to set the alarm, we were provided a wake up call. We did feel safe in the hotel, and it seemed fairly clean.
