We stayed when we were waiting to close on our house. The staff was great. The treated us like family. They all loved our you pom. Every day we would walk by and they always talked to her and she was always happy to see them. I can't say enough about how great this hotel or its staff. If you're coming to Lubbock this is the place to stay. Thank you each and everyone of the staff.

Filthy rooms! Poor customer service! Elevator not functioning! Unauthorized charges placed on my card and manager not available to explain charges! This place is a dump and managed poorly.

Most God awful experience ever! The elevators do not work went down last night and we were on the 4th floor. Got them going just to go down this morning. Tony the general Manager was suppose to come speak with my mom since the staff housekeeping cussed my mom in front of my 10 year old daughter for asking for towels. Checked out and front desk tried to argue with us over the card on file. Overall would not recommend this place to anyone. Its insane. I realize things break but to call my mother names is RIDICULOUS!

Elevators quit working and we were on the fourth floor (top floor) with 2 dogs we had to take out to potty. No free Wi-Fi, rather NO Wi-Fi at all! It wasn’t working either. Called down to ask for extra pillows and was told there were no extra pillows. Parking is scarce as my daughter drove around the building several times before parking. My grandkids were swimming and I went to ask for pool towels. The man asked how many with me responding 5. The female clerk was taking a drink and I thought was going to choke when I said 5. I told her we had 2 rooms rented with 5 people staying in 1 of the rooms. And that I could actually use more than 5. I went to get ice in our bucket and had to wash it before I put the bag in it (something sticky). We had initially reserved the rooms asking for them to be close together. We were told it would be about 4 rooms apart which we agreed. We get there and we’re completely down at one end of the hall and around the corner from each other. Just NOT happy!

Nice rooms, friendly staff. Need to renovate the pool area. There are a few issues with it. But everything else is amazing!

I was going to get a room here about to weeks ago. My wife started the process online but we ended not getting the room. They still charged me $100. I've called several times in 2 weeks and no one will help me. They say a supervisor will call me and I have yet to receive a call. So unprofessional! in response to the owners response. We were on the phone with an agent and we couldn't understand a word that was coming out of his mouth while we were discussing what it would cost to bring our dog, so we told him to cancel our reservation. How this has become our fault I have no clue! hire people we can understand and we wont have to cancel our reservation. We have been robbed for $100!

Everyone that worked there was kind and helpful. The breakfast is very well cared for and the amenities are readily available. It was a very comfortable stay. The room was super spacious and comfortable. I'm almost sad we couldn't stay longer just to enjoy the hotel more. I'll have to stay longer, next time.

This place was great. The rooms are spacious and very clean which I enjoyed because I've been at different places and this by far was the best. One problem only, I'm a truck driver and I normally get done at 6am. I need to get 10hrs off duty to start running again so I check out the same day around 4pm and they charged me 2nights for a 10hr stay.

This was perhaps a 3 star hotel 20 years ago. It's quite rough around the edges. The room was very spacious and mostly clean. The bed was relatively comfortable but you could tell it was old. If you want to sleep in, bring a sleep mask because the curtains are not good. The common areas were warm and sticky… they needed to up the air con. The bar was closed and the hot tub was broken… the pool looked sketchy anyway so we wouldn't have used it. The front staff seemed more interested in visiting with eachother than focusing on customer service. Overall it was just okay for one night. We would not stay here again.

Unfortunately our car was broken into sometime during the night. The window was shattered and several things were stolen totaling close to $2500. It is not the hotels fault that things were stolen but they do not have cameras that might deter this kind of behavior. The officer that took the police report led us to believe that this wasn't the first time and that it was easy for the perpetrators because there was a back entrance and no cameras. I also expressed my concern with the manager but it took several attempts over two days to get in touch with her. We will never stay there again.

As always, the staff is fantastic & the room was very nice & comfortable. Breakfast was hot & cold foods that were nicely prepared & displayed! I will stay there again.

This place is phenomenal! My wife, mother-in-law, and I stayed for two nights because my wife was having knee surgery at Covenant Surgical Center which is right behind Hawthorn Suites. The staff for the hotel, from the front desk to housekeeping, was absolutely amazing! Everyone on staff… (familiar or not) … always asked how my wife was feeling after the surgery. The staff actually went out of their way to make my wife comfortable and the funny thing is we only mentioned her surgery to the front desk person when we checked in. If we were to ever stay in Lubbock TX again overnight, this would be my first choice… everytime! The breakfast had a lot of great choices (scrambled eggs, with or without, sausage and cheese, sausage links, ham, biscuits and sausage gravy plus cereal and milk, waffles, and bagels. ) Check it out if you are in the area or just passing through. Beautiful rooms, nice pool, and has breakfast. It's located next to the children's hospital which was wonderful for us! We will definitely be back.

The hotel is always clean, the staff are super professional and helpful. If an issue comes up, they are quick to resolve it. Affordable prices and great quality. It is easy to miss the street it's on, though!

Very nice, comfortable beds, nice furnishings. My only complaints were that the bathroom floors were strangely sticky and the pool closed before we were able to check it out.

Used to be a great spot, now it's full of oilfield workers. They called and set up certain things, room floor, water in room. Arrived got none. I won't stay here again, If you want good amenities and staff that does what they say, stay at the Arbor off of Milwaukee. It's much better. Sad to see this place take a nose dive, used to be my go to in Lubbock.

Superior and great people and because of that I could give it 5 stars. BUT BUT BUT… THERE WAS NO HOT WATER, and it's winter! I only wish that I had known that before I jumped in the shower. I promise you I was not in there very long. Don't you think we should expect more from a Wyndham Hotel? — Eddie-

If booked at the right time the price for the location is great. Rooms are beautiful and comfortable and include everything you need for your stay. Beds are comfortable with plenty of pillows. My go-to place in Lubbock.

I love going back to Lubbock because of this Hotel. The staff members are incredibly professional and courteous. I received a call, from the front desk, as soon as I stepped into my room to inquire if my room was up to my expectations and offered to make anything right if I was not satisfied. They made me feel like I was a dignitary or something. Please make your Wi-Fi better!

Everything bad. I couldn’t find anything to eat for breakfast. Those tasted awful. There was no partition between the shower room and the washroom, so most of water flew from the shower room to the washroom. The sink wasn’t clean. Molds and stains were sticking at the corner of it. Sound insulation wasn’t working. I was disturbed by the sound of closing door. You should not stay this hotel. Awful.

The staff super nice and helpful. The room was the king suite and it was very reasonably priced with the extra perks. I loved the room super nice and would highly recommend staying here I know I will be a repeat customer. Thanks to the staff keep up the great work guys!

Great location near the university and 24hr grocery store. Clean spacious rooms. A little too close to the highway but still slept great. Great free breakfast.

Ok I used to LOVE this hotel. I stayed in it often. However this time was disaster. There is hardly any parking. (staff was very friendly) they are my only reason for even the 1 star given) anyhoo walked into my room with my sister there were obvious "body fluids) sprayed all over the couch, the floor, the back of couch. The sofa bed was pulled halfway out. Curious I looked and yep bedding hadn't been changed in sofa bed… as in yuck more fluids from what appeared to be a wild night. (the male must be dehydrated just sayin) the bathroom was dirty. The headboard hadn't been clean since Clinton was president. There was NO hot water so cold shower for us. (the person using room previously did not partake of im certain) went for breakfast the next morning and ever single bagel had mold on it! yes I took pics. Half the yogurt offered was expired. And they had no sugar for coffee. Will NOT be going back and telling everyone else they prob shouldn't either unless they wanna stay in what looks like it accounts to a rent by the hour motel that disguises itself with expensive night and really friendly staff.

Check-in went smoothly as was finding the room. Our room was a suite with a kitchenette — which was a pleasant surprise. In general we liked the room but had a few items that detracted: Not enough parking (most were reserved for a clinic down the way), the toilet ran all the time, and the TV remote didn't work. Staff was friendly and breakfast was as expected. Oh, their points of interest book was riddled with spelling errors.

Diana Ortiz and staff have really blown us away… We just got lucky and found Hawthorn Suites of lubbock… normally we look for a 4 star minimum for lodging…, Lubbock didn't offer that option. _but after seeing our room and the kind reception we received and true true hospitality. We will pursue Hawthorns from here on out! If I was the owner of this hotel. I would do my best to hold onto Diana. Because she is definitely going places!

Close to the medical district, with two boys they put us in a room with storage on one side and the emergency exit on the other do I didn't have to constantly worry about them making too much noise. The breakfast was great and had plenty of options.

This place is very nice. The suite had everything you would need. Very clean and pretty. The staff were really helpful and kind. And the breakfast was fantastic. Definitely staying there again.

Nice, clean hotel. Room was nice and staff was friendly. Breakfast was pretty good except for the egg-like substance that tasted more like fish than eggs.

I would come stay here when ever I come for a concert. Everything is good. Nice big rooms. All sofa sleepers need a cushion for more comfortable sleeping. Last night I tried sleeping on it but the rods in the mattress hurt. I took the all the cushions off the couch and chair got extra blankets and made a pallet on the floor. Other than that, I'm giving this place a thumbs up.

Very nice pet-friendly hotel. Our blinds didn't cover the entire window, so we saw the sun come up and stayed clear of the window while dressing. They charged $2 for a toothbrush. Nice sized room with a small kitchenette. What we didn't like was there weren't many available outlets to plug our electronics in, no alarm clock whatsoever, and it's a very noisy and busy hotel (it does have a bar. ) If you try to get to sleep before midnight, it's not going to happen; thin walls. We stayed here on a Saturday night. Good full hot breakfast, but powdered eggs, sausage, ham, biscuits and gravy, waffles.

Let me start by saying it was not the front desk staff. They were amazing! Now on to why it was rated a 2 star. We check in, get our key and head to our room to check it out before we go to dinner. We walked it and loved the room. It was large, family friendly, and felt clean. We left for dinner and came back less than an hour later. We go to our room so the kids can change and swim and as I looked closer at the room there was blood spots on the comforter and some …kind of nasty white stains all over the couch. I took the kids to the pool and let my husband deal with the room. Before I even looked at the pool my kids ran and jumped in and it was disgusting, green, and you couldn't see the bottom of the pool. There was so many people in the pool tgat weee screaming I had to step out of the area so my ears would stop ringing. While we were down at the pool my husband showed a man at the desk our room and he agreed it was nasty and wanted to move us. My husband had to bring everything down ti the lobby to get the new keys and then take everything back up to the new room. My sons and I by this time were headed up to the new room I get a call from my husband to be careful that there were several dogs (which one of my sons is terrified of). Apparently we were on the dog level because as soin as we got out of the elevater you could hear the dogs barking and growling at their doors. Unfortunatly we had to walk past them to get to the room.

The staff raised the star count from a 4 to 5. The rooms are comfy and clean, but don't even attempt opening the blinds, they are challenging, to say the least. The breakfast is what you expect from a complimentary hotel breakfast, but the area is clean and breakfast staff is helpful. I will say, this IS my go to place to stay when in Lubbock, the ONE time I attempted any other place, I knew this would be where I stayed EVERY time in town. Again, the front desk staff is amazing and truly an asset to this hotel, friendly, helpful (when I called to ask about food delivery near by, they BROUGHT maps, info and a little snack to my room! Above and beyond expectations)! It's not a 5 star as far as ambience etc, but you will have a comfortable, safe and pleasant stay!

Very nice and comfortable. Love that the living/kitchen area was separated from the sleeping area with a door. Will definitely recommend and stay there when in town.

I'm not sure if they're under new management or what has happened, I've stayed there many times in the past 6 yrs & never had any problems. This stay was a complete DISASTER. We had reserved 2 luxury suites 4 mths in advance which were given to someone else the day before our arrival. The moved us to suites the following day two floors apart & one of the a/c didn't work. Moved rooms again, no working a/c again. Then we were double/over charged once we were home & checked our accounts. No apologies for the inconvenience. Not to mention a pair of missing oakley glasses that was lost during all the room moving that conveniently re-appeared after a very big fuss. I wouldn't recommend staying here any longer. Because it was graduation time, rooms were not cheap, a standard room was $209 & a luxury suite $219, definitely not worth the price. Still waiting on my $628.74 that they owe me in overcharges for a 2-night stay.

Very disappointed in our stay in our favorite city. First night AC wasn't working, no one came to fix as promised. Second night, switched to a room with working AC and were promised to be compensated one nights stay for the miserable experience. We chose this hotel since it had an indoor pool for our toddler. Walked the family down to the pool and it was closed all day Saturday for maintenance! Upon checkout, no comp and were told they would email us… why am I not surprised they never contacted us to follow up!

Great staff and swanky rooms at a good rate. Would have gave them a 5 but there was no shampoo in the shower/bathroom and the carpet was a bit dirty.

I feel like I should expect more for $119/night. The window shade in our room didn't work and did not block all the light in the morning. Breakfast included eggs but was below average.

Highly impressed at the size, cleanliness and price for this hotel. Reservations are a must, they stay sold out it seems. If you're looking for a large and very clean facility, for much less than other brands — Hawthorn Suites is the place for you.

Very clean, nice amenities, my only complaint was the soda machine on the 4th floor wasn't working. Other than that admittedly minor complaint we had a great experience. Friendly staff and the rooms were very nice.

Tho the outside of the hotel doesn't impart too high of expectations, the Hawthorn Suites are definitely a nice place to stay. Easily comparable to places double the price, the rooms are spacious, have comfortable furniture, multiple plugs, as well as a microwave and refrigerator. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The facilities located on site include a pool and a exercise room. There is also a bar on the premises. The hotel also has a complimentary continental breakfast that is very nice.

I will never stay at this Hotel again! I stayed there twice and both times had to change rooms due to air conditioning issues, the third time I went to stay there my daughters event got cancelled and upon cancelling my room more than 48 hours before my stay I was told that there is fine print on the website that says regardless of staying or not I will be charged the full amount. Be careful these people are crooks, my advice… find another hotel to stay at!

Good hotel. Comfy beds. Rooms have everything you need. Microwave, fridge, sink, free Wi-Fi, etc. There's a decent bar down stairs and a nice pool/hot tub. The free breakfast isn't bad either. For the price this isn't a bad place.

I LOVE this hotel. I'm SO glad I decided to come here. I'm staying longer than originally planned because I love it so much. I've stayed in many hotels, from "value" to "luxury. " This place has hands down taken the cake. It's clean, beautiful, and the staff are wonderful (Dee, Marcus, Philip, Colten, Priscilla, Serena, Levi, Greg, Storm, Katie, Glenn, Preston, et al). They're so genuine and acommodating. This staff really revives true hospitality; other hotels should model their hospitality teams after this one. Even the breakfast is unrivaled, especially since it's included in the price of the stay. Miss Katie makes some seriously bangin' eggs! I couldn't be more pleased; I'll have trouble staying anywhere else in Lubbock!

Best staff! Dee and company do a great job taking care of their customers! I have stayed all over lubbock however I can choose to stay anywhere. But I still come back here. I have now even moved all of my corporate travelers to stay here when they are in town as well.

Elvator alarm starting going off while I was in it thats all thats bad well couches are hard when they say queen size bed there lying its like a itty butt little thing thats all. Food at breakfast is good it pretty good.

I cannot write enough good things about the hotel and the phenomenal staff. Our family of four have stayed here for the past month, while our home is being repaired from flooding. We knew from day one that we were in a special place. Upon check-in, Derrick greeted us with a smile and sincere happiness to have us as a guest. When our insurance company didn't work out the payment yet, that didn't stop him from checking us in while we contacted our insurance to work out the details. The rooms are clean, spacious, and kept that way with the superb cleaning staff. Being pet-friendly was important to us, and they have catered to our pets, even placing a towel on the couch cushion so our four legged friends don't have to worry about their hair getting on the couch. The evening desk clerks Marcus and Dee know us by name, visit with us daily, and make is feel at home. They have formed a special friendship with our 12 year old daughter, whether they are talking gymnastics, or training her to be a future hotel hostess. Our favorite days at the hotel are Monday-Thursdays with Happy Hour, and of course Wednesdays when we can enjoy the Omlette bar in the mornings. We will deeply miss this hotel and their staff that treated us like family.

Horrible service! Checked in at 3 in the afternoon and the beds were not made. Understanding that it was early I left and came back at 7 in the evening to find the door still open and beds not made still. Went to the pool area to find hot tub not working and pool drained. When I went to complain they assured me that they would talk to a manager to make my stay more comfortable. After an hour I called down to the front desk to find the manager left without giving me a call back. This is the worst service I have ever received in a hotel, very disappointing.

Horrible hotel. For 2 years in a row the indoor pool has been cold. I called to see if the heater was fixed in the pool. A guy named Trent said yes. I get there and the pool is ice cold. The new GM at ext: 505 was a complete b****. Would not give any discount or comp's. The windows also suck in the rooms, make a horrible whistling sound all night. Found black hair on both beds. Will never stay there again.

The rooms look good at a glance but are not kept up. Holes in drywall, toilet paper holders hanging from the walls, cabinets installed crooked, blinds that either won't open are fall down. Twice I've been there and the maid service never touched my room. They gave me a free stay after I taked to the manager and I tore it up. I will never stay there again.

This is an awesome Wyndham property with only one flaw. The rooms have a separate area acting as a kitchenette. Often I will have food that needs to be refrigerated but ends up in the trash, or leftovers that could be reheated and consumed later to no avail due to the lack of amenities in most hotels. All the comforts of home in one room with an office area, a couch and chair, the kitchenette, a marble bathroom, and of course, a comfy bed. The location is the best in Lubbock. The only surprise for me was when, after working all day and into the evening, I ended up back at the hotel without getting dinner. I was caught in a bad thunderstorm and figured room service would have to do. The don't serve anything other than the comp breakfast which is totally fine, just had no idea. Friendly, safe, clean environment.
