Review of Rodeway Inn Austin 2*

If I was able to rate it a half a star I most definitely would. My boyfriend and I prebooked this hotel a few weeks in advance before heading down to Austin. From the pictures I had found on their website it looked decent, however when we got there it was a different story. Pulling up from the outside this hotel looked rundown and unkept, from staying at may hotels in the past (high end and a little more budget friendly) I wasn't so quick to judge and had wishful thinking that the inside would change my initial opinion, unfortunately that wasn't the case! The lobby looked just as rundown and dingy as the outside. The front desk looked very unorganized and the man upfront wasn't very warm either. Again, I tried to keep the positive vibes and hoped for the best. I quickly checked in and headed up to my room. The hallway looked even worse than the lobby and had a very weird musky smell to it. We arrive to our room and was instantly upset with the condition. We were greeted with the smell of and even worse musk smell combined with a cigarette and urine odor. The a/c unit looked as if someone had beaten it with a hammer, half of the vent was missing, and as if that wasn't bad it enough looked like there was rat poop in the unit itself along with underneath and around the unit. The rest of the furnishing looked like it was second hand as the arm rest looked as if it were chewed away. The bed was disgusting I refused to sit/lay in it because of how dirty it appeared. Without skipping a beat my boyfriend and I got the hell out of there! Again I have stayed a wide variety of hotels around the Texas area and this one by far has been the worst experience ever. Save yourself the trouble and headache and stay a little further out for the same price with a much cleaner safer environment.
