I have stayed at the hotel during SXSW and a package that I purchased arrived delayed after my checkout. I've called the hotel several times asking them to return the package and get a tracking code, but they never return. It was an expensive item and I am very frustrated, having to handle a ton of international phone calls to try to solve the problem. If I even had a clear response… But they say they will write me back and never return my contacts.

I had the pleasure of staying at Hyatt Place for my birthday weekend! I loved it! The breakfast was absolutely wonderful! Definetly not the usual complimentary breakfast. It was fresh and the staff was promptly, professional, and kind. Xavier was the gentleman who helped us check in. He gave an excellent explanation and welcome. He escorted us to the elevator and was very polite. I love how the automatic doors make a "waaaaow" sound. An on point sound effect during entering the hotel. Wow! Thank you for the amazing service from Welcome to Goodbye! Highly recommend!

A luxury resort experience, but not at a Luxury Resort Price. The rooms are SPACIOUS, with everything looking like it’s brand new. Everything is spotless, from the lobby to the bathrooms, and the Complimentary Breakfasts are absolutely mouthwatering delicious. I’ve stayed in other Hyatt’s in other towns, but this one in Austin, Texas stands out among them all to be the best. I’ve never met a friendlier staff, or had such a great and relaxing stay.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend visit to see a friend. The staff including the check-in staff, housekeeping, and the bartenders were all friendly. It was close to everything we wanted to see downtown. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. We would stay here again.

Stayed while working downtown. The location is great and makes downtown so accessible. Staff is helpful. Room was clean and well-furnished. Breakfast was tasty and fresh. Couldn't have really asked for more.

Great location and friendly staff. The rooms were a little small. The bathroom has a glass door on it for whatever reason. But the worst part about the Hyatt Place is plan on paying double the room rate per day. The quoted room doesn't include parking and all the other fees they can think up. I didn't have a single charge on my room I could of avoided in any way… Other than not staying there.

I am writing this review after a few months. This is how great my experience was! I had my bachelorette party here and the front desk did EVERYTHING to accommodate our group. They were so kind, helpful, and genuinely went so far out of their way to help us. Every single one of the staff we encountered in our stay was amazing. I have never had such great service and honest hospitality from a hotel. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, the gym was great, the breakfast was really nice, the location was central and I didn't have any noise issues. We ordered Franklin's bbq and the hotel staff basically set us up in the dining area. Full service. We could not asked for a better experience. We loved the Hyatt Place Austin Downtown!

I have been so impressed with my stay here! Check in was easy breezy, breakfast has exceeded my expectations for a hotel stay with fresh hot food and quality fresh fruits. Front desk staff go out of their way helping with computer and printing for our presentation, especially Evan Krell! I would definitely stay here in future!

The room was clean, staff was very friendly and helpful, and the free breakfast was pretty good. Their fitness center is very nice. My only complaint is the parking. $42 a night and no other options. Parking should be free with the stay or at least reasonable. It is downtown so maybe that’s comparative but I would look around next time before I come down for a better deal. Overall a great experience.

Rooms and employees were wonderful. We asked for a framed photo of Nicholas Cage and they delivered. Will definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Austin.

Nice hotel within walking distance of everything downtown, very good location. The bed was comfy and the water pressure good. The breakfast was free and pretty yummy. About the only negative thing I have to say is, there's no self parking and the valet parking is $42 dollars a night.

Well Located close to everything in downtown Austin. Rooms are large and clean.

The good: great location that is in walking distance of really good restaurants, etc. Complimentary breakfast, bar area and multiple sitting areas. There is a pool and gym on the fifth floor. As a guest-safety feature, the elevators all require guest key cards to first swipe room key before selecting their floor. Rooms appeared to be clean and modern. Bed and pillows were adequate if not comfortable. The not so good: the trade off for being close maybe that you may be closer to the buzz and nearby nightlife. The air conditioning is very loud. Ironically, the loud drolling noise seems to actually lull you to sleep eventually. Some cheap ear plugs should cancel this and the nightlife out though. There didn't appear to be self parking so valet parking was the only option. Decent stay overall but be aware of the proximity to nightlife and restaurants in relation to possible sleep quality.

Great hotel for SXSW! Rooms are clean and bigger than expected, and they have a good bed. Breakfast is also good. Helpful business services like free printing.

I loved my stay here. It is in bit higher cost range but being adjacent to Austin Convention Center & avaiability of complimentary breakfast are its most positive side. Complimentary breakfast is really sumptuous and good. It also has Gymnasium and Swimming pool for recreation. Rooms are very spacious, neat and clean. Room service is very regular. They also have facility of payable valet car parking service.

Came here for a weekend. Very friendly staff. Check in was a breeze. Room was very spacious which included 2 queen beds and a full couch. Channels on the TV we're abundant. Free breakfast in the morning was buffet style and for the cost it was great :). We had sausages and pancakes one day and another day there was potato hash. In addition there's cereal, oats, etc. Would stay here again. Thanks best part of the stay was the close proximity with all he downtown fun things like sixth street bars, dining establishments etc.

We stayed at the Hyatt Place on our wedding night, and they went above and beyond to make sure it was perfect! I had requested a bottle of champagne in the room, but we actually received one at the front desk, and ANOTHER in the room. We were also upgraded to the top floor with a better view. And to top it all off, there was a congratulations card in our room with several of the staff's signatures. We were thrilled that so much thought was put into a very special time for us. We'll be back for sure!

Large room with corner sofa and coffee table. Good downtown location. There is gym and small pool but no changing room, just disabled toilet room for changing, so use bedroom. They have 24/7 food but my order at 2am did not arrive. Breakfast buffet was fine.

Great location to downtown and walking distance to Austin nightlife. The room was clean and looked fantastic. The bed was comfy and we slept great. Only problem was no hotel parking unless you want to pay $37.00 for valet. I had to park two blocks over in a parking garage that cost 27.00.

Staff is ridiculously pleasant. Breakfast was good… coffee wonderful! Parking almost 40 per day. This may be okay for downtown Austin, but the hotel costs are high enough to allow some self parking at a reduced rate in thier 4 level garage. Pricey. About 250 per night.

Great hotel with super friendly staff and a more upscale feel than the price suggested when I booked. The included breakfast was excellent value and the valets we're genuinely welcoming every time we went in or out of the building. I will definitely stay again.

Very good value for money, very well placed, spacious and comfortable first-rate room, great choice at the PTI Dej.

Overall, good hotel and location. Right next to food, the trail by the river, and the convention center. Rooms are fantastic with a suite-like feel. Good intentions, which is important. Only downside was the shower water pressure. Hot water came out of tap at a trickle, shower head compensated but it was still weird.

Excellent staff, they really care about you and take care of you. Stayed with Family here and was very pleasantly surprised by the excellent service by the hotel staff. Everyone from Front desk to the people manning the breakfast area were very helpful and courteous. Location is also central with lot of downtown key attractions within few blocks.

Excellent place to stay, very close to convention center and many restaurants. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is delicious. I took off one star because the pool and fitness center are on the small side. I would stay there again.

Hyatt seems to have really upped their game in recent years and this is one of the better hotels in their chain. Clean rooms with modern decor. Attentive and freindly staff. All at a great location.

Long story short. Four Seasons Front Desk messed up my reservation so that I have to look for other options. Maria at Hyatt lightened up my day. A business success is because of people. Maria showed me the room and explained the hotel outlets. A warm and homey place that I decided to stay in right away. Thanks! Maria & Hyatt! I will have a pleasant stay here.

The Hyatt Place downtown has got to be the best place to stay in the Austin downtown area. Been staying at different hotels in downtown Austin for years, and this is the best place yet. Staff, all the way up to the valet, were always courteous and professional during our stay. The hotel is clean and we'll kept. The place feels like home away from home. The breakfast is the best I have seen from a hotel, and it's included in your stay. The lounge/bar/breakfast area is very comfortable with a variety of seating options. Staff will attempt to greet you every time you arrive or leave. The rooms are clean, quiet, and we'll laid out… the best layout in this hotel segment. The hotel managers do a fabulous job of running a really tight ship. Hyatt Place is just a great value that is only a block away from the convention center and surrounded by awesome places to eat (try Gus' World Famous Chicken). I can only hope that the current high level of service is maintained. My only complaint is that there is only valet parking available at almost $40 a night.

Came to Austin on a girls trip for my birthday weekend. The night clerk Demont and the night chef Ortega were very hospitable and took good care of us. The valets were excellent and prompt. Great weekend!

The rooms were clean and spacious, and the staff was friendly. One staff member forgot to give me a conference pass upon check in, but she came to my room as soon as she realized. The valet was also friendly and helpful. Great place to stay in downtown Austin, walking distance to the convention center.

Great rooms with a sleeper sofa which is a nice added touch. Rooms have a fridge but no microwave. TVs are not HD on every channel and actually fuzzy on some channels. Breakfast is really nice, though it could use another addition or two like a waffle iron. Hotel has great security as elevators will not access room floors without scanning your room key.

Parking is more extensive than the surrounding hotels. The air quality sucks. After just 1 night me and my girlfriend are coughing when we get to the room. For the price I wish I had gone somewhere else. The staff is nice and the breakfast isn't too bad. I def won't be staying here again.

Very spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Breakfast is ample and free with skillet breakfasts as well as the standard fare. Personnel are friendly and knowledgeable.

Fantastic staff and location. Very clean, the room is modern and relatively spacious. Internet speed was well above average for a hotel and the shower, a walk-in vs tub, had excellent water pressure. 10/10 would recommend.

The one star is for the stay before all of the billing issues happened… well, they're STILL happening. Came to stay the weekend while our house is being taken care of for water damage from Harvey. Ended up getting charged twice more than we should have been. The second charge was just removed finally but the first is still there. Normally this would be horrible — having several hundreds of dollars taken out of your account but when you need it most it is pretty devastating. Mistakes happen, the first one we forgave, but to have this happen again while they know our circumstances is not. We're worried about calling again & having them take out even more money — I guess maybe we should call corporate & see if they can help us? Has anyone else been through this with them before? (Also, because we are trying to buy a new place to live, getting charged for things we shouldn't be charged for is creating complications at our bank that we need to write a letter of explanation for to our lender. What a mess. Thanks for nothing, Hyatt. Now we have one thing to not like about our favorite city in the world. )

Stayed here a few days ago. Loved the experience, room was clean, easy access to restaurants, and very friendly staff. The valet did a professional job to my vehicle, no interior/exterior damage. I highly recommend this hotel.

I stay at several Hyatt's across the country, roughly 18-20 weeks a year. This one is definitely high on my lists of places to stay. Easy access to everything downtown, close to the highway, plenty of food options and their own bar and pool. Can't go wrong here.

Hotel is very nice. We enjoyed our stay. However do not park there. It's a scam. Nearby parking is much cheaper especially if you use spot hero or a similar app.

Central location, close to lots of hot spots, staff was amazing. My only issue was the parking, only valet parking was available, $37 per night, plus the tips you give your hard working valets. Overall would definitely recommend. Great rooms, great service, you pay for what you get.

Nice location and good breakfast is about the only perks of this place. Parking is $31+ per night for valet. The room itself couldn't maintain a consistent temperature and would swing from hot to cold with just a change of 1 degree on the thermostat. Mini fridge in the room was broken. Also was awoken several times in the middle of the night by other guests and by odd noises in the room (grumblings from the AC unit it seemed but wasn't sure). Overall pretty disappointed in my experience as otherwise it appears to have a lot of potential to be a great hotel for people to stay.

This property nicely suited my needs in Austin — it is centrally located downtown, the rooms were clean, and the staff was terrific. This is not a luxury property so don't check-in with those expectations. Rooms were very spacious but this is not a property where you will be spending your time enjoying the amenities (or lack thereof). Breakfast is complimentary (and had a variety of decent options) but finding seating proved difficult on a Sunday morning. Overall, this hotel was completely satisfactory.

The Hyatt Place is a great hotel. Clean, quiet. Very close to the convention center. The service had been very good so far. They have an excellent breakfast (eggs, bacon, French toast, pancakes, fresh juice, coffee) included in your stay. It was a great start to my day.

Friendly staff, large rooms, & some of the most comfortable beds & pillows I've had in a hotel (I spend a lot of time in hotels). Don't under estimate how important being comfortable is when you're traveling. Location is great too. Walkable to UT campus, 6th street, the warehouse district & more.

Location was ok. Would be better if it was closer to 6th St. Rooms were a little small but they were clean. Service was great. Front desk was nice and friendly. They helped us out with everything we needed.

I am EXTREMELY upset right now! I stayed here to get a small getaway from school and work and to find out that theres DAMAGE to my damn vehicle! I am a disabled veteran and I use this vehicle everyday and have NEVER inquired any damages since I've gotten the vehicle (2013 to now). They are not wanting to fix my car because I left Austin, REALLY! I have a job and getting ready for school (UTSA) today and this weekend! How the hell am I suppose to examine every inch of my car before leaving. I left the car in the garage the whole time I was there, which was two days! I'm pissed and guess I will have to take these measures in never going to a Hyatt again and getting rid of my gold pass! I will be telling everyone I know, not to spend there money here because my wife and I spent a huge amount and to leave with a damaged vehicle that no bell boy or car attendant manned up to! This is total BS! If I have to, I will get a lawyer!

The rooms were very clean and the staff was friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much. When we needed more towels, they were there in a few seconds. It's also in the heart of downtown! We would stay here again.

Front desk has it all figured out. They are super helpful and fast. This place is modern, nice, and CLOSE to the action. You just cross the street to get to several good restaurants. The beds are amazing. The pool area kinda sucks, but the workout room has everything you need. BREAKFAST is part of your room price and it was very well worth it. You certainly pay for this level of comfort, but they delivered. 4 stars easily.

This place is awesome. Complimentary buffet style breakfast, saltwater pool, valet parking. I would most definitely visit this place again.

It has an excellent lobby and conference room and the employees are very friendly and helpful. I loved the location and it is very easy to get to the hotel. And, in general, is beautiful.
