Nice hotel… easy check in and out… clean rooms… comfortable beds.

Checked in on 2-24-19 for one room checked out on 2-25-19 checked my online bank statement and was charged double rate called hotel and they told me it would take 3 to 5 business days to have my funds placed back on my card. I will not be back!

Just some advice to anyone who thinks they want to work under Elija, the manager here at the Best Western: you don’t. He is sexist, lazy, pushy, disrespectful & literally the worst manager I’ve worked for in my life. He is especially horrible to his house keepers & literally speaks to people like they’re nothing. He wrote me up because I took 15 minutes too long on my rooms in my two weeks there. He can’t get anyone he hires to stay longer than two days because he demands that you have every room clean in 30 minutes & that’s nearly impossible to do when it takes 15 minutes to make a bed perfectly when you first start. I worked my way down to 13 minutes per bed (I was literally timing myself to get better) but that’s still not good enough. What else? he gave me 14 rooms on my first day by myself (I was trained on rooms for 2 hours the day before & had no list to go off) & was not happy I didn’t leave there until 8 o’clock at night. I am posting this because literally no one should be treated the way he treats his employees. It’s really a shame considering it’s a beautiful hotel.

Our room was clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed for convenience. I like that it had a mini fridge along with the normal amenities. Popcorn in the lobby was a nice touch and great for night time snack. Breakfast was really good and a nice variety. I love waffles! We are booked for our next stay!

Just stayed at this Best Western Palo Duro Inn a few days ago. I was extremely satisfied with my entire visit there. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful and gave me info I asked for politely. The room was clean, spacious with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was very pleasing with lots of choices to enjoy! This is also very close to Palo Duro Canyon, turn left out of the parking lot and it is about 13 miles down. I will return here on my next visit to Palo Duro Canyon.

Is the suite worth it? Oh yeah! Especially since we booked at the same rate as a regular room. My only caution is the cucumber water at the check in. On the way through, I got horrible, horrible food poisoning. The only thing I had (for several hours) before bed was their tap water and the cucumber water at the front desk. I was so sick we ended up in the er on the way to Colorado Springs. Best to avoid stuff you don't make yourself and that has been sitting out unrefrigerated! Outside of that, this is where we choose to stay every time we travel between TX and CO. Great rooms, good breakfast… Great hotel.

This is a nice enough place. Everyone that I met that worked here was very nice and professional. The room itself was mostly clean. The area by the air conditioner was super dirty though. Looked like it hadn't been touched in quite a while. The coffee maker was missing the piece that the filter goes in and this couldn't have my morning coffee. I would definitely stay here again.

The staff on duty when we arrived and the whole time we were there was so nice and helpful. We arrived in the afternoon, the two front desk attendants greeted us right away and offered us bottled water. The lobby had two containers of iced water and free popcorn. The rooms are spacious with all of the amenities and the breakfast was very filling, more than a continental breakfast and not made to order. Merit, who worked the front desk was more than helpful, he was very kind, friendly and very hospitable. Working with the public is a very hard and tiring job and he excels at it. The hotel is near Palo Duro Canyon, our final destination. Merit also directed us to the Museum down the street, WOW! There is a lack of operating restaurants in the Canyon area but we found a little cafe we really liked.

Clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Indoor pool and guest laundry are pluses. Nice, breezy and shady spot on the patio behind the pool. Convenient to Palo Duro Canyon and the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum.

Excellent hotel. Great value for the price. Breakfast was outstanding with a variety of breakfast foods to choose from including eggs (Omlet Style and Boiled), pancakes (waffles), cereals and fruits, yogurts, etc. Something for everyone. Rooms were clean and it is currently undergoing renovations most of which seemed to be completed on the floors we were on. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had the experience of cigarette smoke coming into our bathroom. They were unable to determine the source at 11:00 at night but moved us to another room where we did not have to endure the smoke from some inconsiderate buffoon and had a GREAT two night stay at this Best Western. Thank you to the management and staff. The young lady that was on the night desk was obviously empowered to make decisions that were not easy. We know they were at near capacity but when we lodged our complaint about the smoke, she was there in just a few seconds and moved us in minutes to an acceptable room. We stayed at the Palo Duro Best Western on our way home from Colorado. Facilities were being remodeled, but did not inconvenience us in any way. The breakfast was very good and more than just a continental breakfast. Staff was very helpful. I would recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.

I give this hotel, especially its management, a rating of zero. This site forced me to give it one star. They didn't earn that one. This is my story: I reserved a room in late February for May 25 and 26 for my parents. Best Western charged my card on March 27 for the full amount. When my parents arrived, May 25, there was no reservation. I confirmed with my bank what I knew and went to speak to the manager on the issue. There was a room available, so they were able to stay one night, and it was a discounted rate, I presume due to their mistake. The issue is they were going to have to move rooms to a smaller room the next day. Management showed me the going rate for the room and they would be getting it at a discounted price. Ok. I still wasn't satisfied that their mistake had been resolved, but was under the impression that there had been some effort. The next morning, my parents were told the other room was ready. They went to move their stuff to the second room, to find that it had no closet area, no furnishings whatsoever, and it had not been cleaned and it smelled bad. The decision at that time was they could come and stay at my house, due to no desire from management to even attempt to make this right. I wouldn't have wanted to stay in the second room for any price, and surely not the $89.99 they were wanting to charge. I live here and have done business here before, as extended family comes into town.

Where to start? The staff was okay, when I arrived and was checking in there was an elderly gentleman checking in and the staff couldn't find his reservation. So they said well don't know what to do, elderly gentleman said well just give me a room for tonight and they did and discounted his room. Well I check in for my room and all goes well, the guy behind the desk said you are next to the elevator hope you sleep well and laughed. Everything after that was okay until we asked for a couple of extra towels and rags. We were told sorry we are out of rags. We said can we get the towels at least, no answer and towels were never delivered. Went out and bought rags on our own. I have stayed at this one before and it was great but this trip was horrible.

This is by far the best place to stay in Canyon. This property is clean, well-kept up, and the beds are comfortable with good pillows. The location is also excellent. I'll never stay anywhere else in Canyon, now that I've experienced the Best Western there, as long as there are rooms available.

Well it’s not the worst hotel I have stayed in but I had to ask to get my room cleaned and get new towels after two nights. The staff says they will help and then doesn’t. The roll out bed we requested for a third person was disgusting so we returned it and they still tried to charge us for it despite giving it back within ten minutes. The furniture is not very comfortable in the suites. It’s not even good for a best western. Basically it’s not a gross hotel room but anything you might expect as far as service you won’t get or it will be slow and you will have to ask.

Brenden was AMAZING in setting up my reservation. My expectations were huge after speaking with him… Unfortunately my expectations were unrealistic after I walked in… Also Dakota I believe cleaned my room. It was spic & span from top to bottom… great job you two. The rest of you step it up your in the hospitality business and there is a Holiday Inn just down the road!

Not the greatest service I've ever experienced. The staff doesn't seem excited to welcome anyone. The room was ok, nothing to rave about, just average. Might be better off across the street at Holiday Inn. Definitely needs a better breakfast offering.

I wanted to book for a same-night stay using miles, but the airline's site would only allow me to to book from one day out. I called the hotel and spoke with their representative, who told me that I could book using my miles for the night of 3/4 and that they would change it to a stay for 3/3 no problem. Awesome, I thought, and went ahead with the booking — being sure to make a note of who I spoke to regarding the date change. With that, I started my 5 hour drive to the destination with the assurance that I had booked a place to stay. Fast forward to 9:30 PM the evening of 3/3, we arrive at Best Western Palo Duro Canyon Inn and are informed that the lady I spoke to on the phone (not mentioning her name here) forgot to change my booking and that they gave my room to someone else. Okay, no big deal, I thought — I'll take another room, even a cheaper one would have been fine. Nope, not without paying again. So, not only did I lose all of my miles that I used to book a room under the assurance of Best Western staff, I had to pay $85 with my credit card for the wrong room because of their mistake. Now I'm jumping through hoops to get them to refund me for their mistake. Paying the equivalent of roughly $200 for the wrong room in a 3-star hotel isn't fair and just isn't cool. Make this right and I'll amend my review.

Very conveniently located to the canyon. Only about 15 minutes down the road. Clean and quiet. Staff is very friendly. Indoor pool area is nice and clean.

Stayed three nights in February. Great staff. Great breakfast. Very quiet and comfy. Would definitely visit again!

Good hotel for the area, driving around proved the town of Canyon devoid of really nice hotels. Wanted to stay in the cabin in the canyon itself but those get booked months in advance. Paid about 80 bucks per night for a double queen, which is too many beds. It was probably worth the money but I left feeling like anywhere outside of Canyon TX would have netted us a less dusty hotel. The breakfast was okay… Nothing special, nothing really good. It standard Continental breakfast. The BBQ in the area is phenomenal. I would highly recommend Feldman's diner. Wanted to go to FatBoy's BBQ but the girlfriend was not into it. Sad.

Rooms are pretty standard, I wish they had extra blankets in the room but you could probably ask for some at the front desk. The staff is is friendly and helpful! I also enjoyed the breakfast — much heartier than most hotel breakfasts. I would stay here again if I'm ever in the area.

The room was outstanding. Comfort. Cleanliness. Convenience. All around great sleeping accommodations. If I had a lengthy stay this place would be first choice. As if ty hg at wasn't enough, the woman who tended to the breakfast had excellent customer service as her number one priority. To keep us content, she kept every surface spotless, all her food choices fresh and appealing, and she was there to assist us with anything we wanted and couldn't find without once making us feel like a burden. In fact, I felt like I'd stepped into her home for a cozy breakfast with friends. What a great asset to this property. (I'm from an Embasdu Suites food service background, and I'd have hired her in a heartbeat. She was that good. ) Thanks, BW, for a truly enjoyable stay.

Our experience with this hotel was a very positive and enjoyable one. The room was comfortable and very spacious. We enjoyed breakfast and coffee every morning in the breakfast room. The staff was above and beyond friendly and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, safe place to call their home away from home.

Best stay over ever. The whole staff went out of their way to do things for us. This hotel is absolutely the best "Best Western" hotel I've ever stayed at.

We were very comfortable. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff showed us that Southern charm! The location was interesting and I would go back!

I would not recommend this place to anyone. Terrible management, or terrible transition to a whole new set of team. We all had a wedding event to go to where a whole bunch of us traveled a long way from another state, actually all over the US. All of us had reserved a room with this place and have been given confirmation number. I show up with my group with a piece of paper with my confirmation number to find out all the rooms I reserved was given away or dropped because we didn't "call" them to confirm anything. Why should we have to do that if we PAID and been given confirmation number? Nothing should've been changed or dropped especially after we PAID. My poor parents had to spend an hour on both days, which is TWO hours to fix everything with all the emails we had proofs that we PAID and promised to have but we were thrown under the bus. THEN a week later, my husband all of the sudden gets charged for ANOTHER 3 rooms after we were done and had everything fixed. Terrible experience. I would not recommend this place until they clean up everything. I am horrified where I had 140 guests traveling from all over the US spending a lot of money on this and yet they get treated this way.

The college students who worked at the hotel were extremely friendly and caring. We were very impressed with their training.

Excellent value, walk in deal with breakfast. Ideal stop over and ideal for visit to Palo deal Duro Canyon the next day. Wifi needs improving and breakfast could do with more no sugar options. All staff in hotel excellent and very friendly.

My husband and I stayed for one night and booked a suite which was spacious, but that is the only positive thing I can say about it. One of the bathrooms had no hot water in the shower, and the floor had clearly not been vacuumed as there were dirt and dead bugs in the corners. For clothes storage, there was a closet with only 1 clothes hanger and a rolling clothes rod with 1 hanger, which gave us a total of 2 hangers. An empty microwave box had been left on the kitchen table. Our room was on the first floor and the window opposite the bed had only a paper thin honeycomb bind covering it. We had difficulty getting the room to a comfortable temperature as there was no thermostat, only a dial on the a/c unit. Breakfast was just ok, but the coffee was apparently instant, not brewed.

Hoping that with new management and new ownership this place gets better. I was there with a wedding party taking pictures and they rented the "apartment" suite and it was an unfinished area it actually looked like someone just moved out. There where screws in the wall where pictures used to hang and two large anchored hook from the ceiling… let your imagination run wild! LOL! I'm hoping the new owner is working on remolding and I can change this in a few months. Overall very nice staff so I will try again.

The stay was fine, but we only had two towels and two pillows for four people. Had to call for the extras needed. Breakfast was good.

Loved our stay. Most of the staff was friendly. Although upon checkout the lady did not know how to complete our transaction. The rooms have been recently renovated it appeared. Very clean, safe, well well-lit parking lot, pet-friendly, a great stay over all.

We stayed here for a free night on a road trip. The hotel is like stepping into a time portal into the 80s. The rooms were large and the bed was comfy, but it is dated and could use a face lift. Their was also rust on some of the bathroom. Breakfast was good but underwhelming, the pool area was good, parking was easy and the Wi-Fi seemed good.

Nice hotel! Clean, comfortable and close to the canyon! Good breakfast to get your day started hiking! Usual fare — eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, cereals, yogurt… etc.

If your only option is to sleep on the sidewalk, this is the hotel for you. Don't bother upgrading to a more expensive room, they're just as filthy as the less expensive rooms are. I stay in many Best Western hotels across the South & Southwest because the brand meets my business budget criteria. This hotel is definitely substandard. I was very disappointed. I've stayed in poorly maintained hotels before but I paid less than half as much as I did here. Price does not equate to quality.

Pay attention to the reviews where this hotel has collected for rooms that people never stayed in. It happened to me. I made a reservation here but my travel plans changed so I canceled it. Somehow, and I still can't figure out where it came from, there was a SECOND reservation. Of course, this location jumped on the "no show" money and didn't even return my phone call when I called to talk to the person that already sent me the "sad face smiley" when I emailed them about the problem. I travel a LOT and I always receive reminders from Holiday Inn and La Quinta a few days before I travel. If Best Western had this level of attention to their clients, things like this could be avoided and they would still have some of my travel dollars. It's my opinion that Best Western is a second rate company with questionable location owners. Be warned. This place can't be trusted and Best Western is totally useless. Best Western washes their hands of stuff like this and even though I've had good experiences at Best Western hotels in the past, I'm done with them. crooks!

If you like the maids stealing from your room twice come here and enjoy losing all your stuff. They stole over 130$ from our room and then the next night stole my friends iPad. Save yourself some money and time and just go to the holiday inn even if it's not as nice. I'm positive the customer service is better. They didn't even help the police find our things. If you can just don't visit canyon worst western. If you do its on you cause the staff could care less about you … Have a great day and God bless.

We picked this hotel because it is near (about 12 miles) from Palo Duro Canyon. Desk staff was very helpful and gave us brochures on the area. We had to move rooms and housekeeping staff took care to ask if everything was OK. It was. Breakfast was typical with coffee, juice, cereal, yogurt, scrambled eggs and Texas-shaped waffles. But only one person was working breakfast. She did all she could to clean the tables, refill the buffet, and respond to special requests. When I asked for a newspaper at the front desk I was told that there were none — saying, "No one reads the newspaper anymore. " True, few do. But it would be nice to have the local paper at the desk. (Many local newspapers will gladly give hotels a few copies for guests, since there are ads for local shops in the paper. ) Right across the street is a great convenience store with the Amarillo and Canyon newspapers for sale. Campus of West Texas A&M next door. All in all, a pleasant stay for 2 nights.

We loved staying at the Best Western, Canyon Texas. We were checked in by a very handsome man, and he was great, took charged of all our problems, we had a great stay, would stay here again,

Spent one night at the Best Western in June 2015. The property was clean and well-maintained. While the pillows weren’t that great – and we couldn’t get an extra – I did think the mattress was very comfortable. The free breakfast was okay, not great.

Ridiculously slow internet service. No real vending machine options (the only machine was on the first floor and practically empty. The coke machine did not work). Everything else was good. The place is clean, price is not too bad, nice features in the room. Breakfast was good for this kind of hotel. Would have given at least 4 stars if the internet service wasn't so horrible. If you aren't going to use the internet, you will probably like the place.

Awesome place. You should totally book there — this hotel has large, spacy rooms, friendly staff, and actually decent breakfast. I didn't really like some of the patties, but the scrambled eggs, muffins, cereal — all really good! And like I said, the staff is REALLY friendly. But you might have to, if you plan on staying longer, or even just a little while longer, renew before time, because then a maid will come up to clean your room, and you'll have to go down there again. Just easier if you go up there first.

We live in Colorado and have farm land in Canyon. I have been talking to Francis and arranging our reservation for a five night stay to take care of business. She was extremely accommodating and very understanding of our needs. We've stayed here for business in the past and everyone and everything met our needs. From these experiences, I highly recommend the BW to anyone.

I called out of the blue about the area around Palo Duro Canyon and Amarillo. Cassy told me of all the great things to do up there and said her shift was ending at 3:00 but that she would pass my information to Elizabeth, as I was undecided whether or not I was going or not. Called back at 4:00 and talked with Elizabeth and she said that she was aware I might be calling to reserve. We had pets so they gave us a very nice room, nicest room Ive ever stayed in for the price especially with my wife and our two chihuahuas. Cassy was there when we arrived and she greeted my and thanked me for deciding to stay at Best Western. She asked me if I wanted to become an award member, which I did. We were famished after a 9 Hour drive and were craving some good eats. Everyplace she recommended was top notch. I would really appreciate that the staff at this location be made aware of the impact they made on my family's experience while we stayed. Francis as well is one of the kindest people I have met. Great service and make you feel as if you are at home there. Breakfast every morning is hot and fresh and included in the stay. Waffles, eggs, hash browns sausage, cereal, hot cocoa, coffee, milk orange juice, apple, juice, fresh fruit, muffins, cinnamon rolls, wow isn't that enough? Fridge and Microwave in room. Spacious room walking distance from great places to see, West Texas A&M University. DO NOT miss the canyons of Palo Duro nor the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum.

Clean, fairly quiet. Threadbare carpet, thin bed blanket, good temp controls, nice towels, no shampoo but both body and hair conditioner. $90 for 2 people + dog in Dec 2012.

My wife and our 2 very young childern stayed over spring break. Room was nice and breakfest was great. A lady named Francis working tbe front desk surprised me about Best Westerns service. It was like 5 mins till 9:00am when we showed up for breakfest. Everything was gone. No eggs susage bisquits gravy nada. She single handed served maybe 12 folks till like 9:30. Wow that's service. Then aftet we leave we discover that our cell phone charger was left in tje room. The same lady Francis mails it to our house. I cant speqk for eveery one but if your lucky enough to be there while francis is on duty she kicks butt. Don from Dallas.

We always stay here when visiting Canyon. The managers and staff are so friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean, well-maintained, and stocked. The only negative would be the in-room coffee pot. Two queen beds would be the first hint that guests may want more than a one-person coffee maker. We bring our own.

We were a walk-in without a reservation. After traveling about Texas for several days, we found this facility exceptional! The 3-year old hotel appeared to be brand new — everything clean and beautifully decorated. The staff was very accommodating and our stay was so refreshing! We actually wished we could stay there another night just to bask in the nicety of its service and location! And a reak plus was the convenience of being able to walk next door to an excellent, new restaurant.

Beatiful hotel kind front desk staff but don't be fooled. Keep your tennis shoes on you will need them if you want anything in this hotel! Self service is the name of the game. The first night of our stay we asked for sheets for the pull out — got nothing from the front desk so we had to track down the house keepers who gave us sheets and towels. Then had to go to the front desk for the blanket. We were promised that the linen would be delivered to our door and if we were not there they would be left in front of the door. What we got was a trip up and down the halls to collect the items ourself. The second night got better! at 5:00 our room STILL was not cleaned for the day! so we called to the desk to let the know. We were told it would be cleaned. When we got back from dinner we came back to made beds but a dirtier room than we left. Black stained spills in the sink that were not there when we left. Items thrown around in the coffee station, The room was not cleaned! The room was not cleaned, Someone came in, did a terrable job making the beds dumped my old coffee down the sink, threw some new soap and coffee in the restroom and left. If I could attached the pictures of their masterpiece to this review, I would! It was definately a suprise. The masterpiece resulted in a comped night and one upset guest — Take my advise — stay at the hotel next door.
