Review of Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites San Antonio NW-Medical Area, an IHG Hotel 2*

The hotel had a water problem so I couldn’t check in on time around 330pm. The male receptionist was nice and welcoming. He offered to cancel my reservation and I could contact another hotel however since I was using my points to stay here I decided to wait about 30 mins for my room. The room was nice. Plenty of pillows and relatively comfortable bed. A kuerig coffee maker is inside the room with 4 coffee pods. A really nice touch. Plenty of towels and toiletries. Tv is small but suitable for room size. I stayed here New Year’s Eve so I didn’t spend very much time inside the room. I had a view of the nice size pool but the weather was in the 20s so no need for the outdoor pool. There is easy access inside the hotel from 4 different doors. I felt secure staying here. There’s a Starbucks across the street a gas station and a restaurant all within easy walking distance. I had a major problem taking a shower in the morning since I only had about 1 minute of hot water then it turned very cold. I mentioned this to the female receptionist when I checked out and she was very nice and offered to compensate me for the trouble with points. The breakfast is from 630 to 9. I really didn’t enjoy the breakfast but maybe I just selected the wrong things. Pork Sausage is good but turkey sausage is rubber. Eggs omelette was not very good. Bagel with jelly was really the only thing I ate. The first floor had numerous ceiling tiles removed so that area looked pretty bad but my room was clean which is most important to me. I would stay at a holiday inn express again just not this particular location so I’m scoring it lower than I would normally.
