I am not sure where to start but wanted to share one of the worst experiences I had at Sheraton Memphis Downtown this weekend. I travel for business conferences and stay at various facilities and had never experienced such a bad service by all the staff. After a long tiring drive for many hours, reached the hotel to check in and was faced with one of the worst experiences ever. Inspite of having a room reserved, it took for them to give my room after 3hrs of wait. On top of it the front desk staff were so rude. Infact even the valet parking folks were very unpleasant this time. It felt like they were all decided to give this kind of experience to us. After all the wait, finally got the room key and noticed that there was some kind of smell and when checked there was a left over food from the previous guest I would assume in the refrigerator. We had room for 2 nights and the housekeeping never cleaned the room and replaced the towels. On Sunday we checked out the room, and put our luggage in convention center luggage room. After our conference ended at 4pm, I went to get receipt for my stay and shockingly they tried to charge saying I overstayed and when raised the concern, I was told that they will adjust as courtesy which to begin with was a problem on their side. All this I wrote in an email to Director of front office Ashley, for which I haven’t received any response so far. Not sure if it is fair to assume even the leadership at that hotel doesn’t care of all this what’s happening at their hotel. They are in the hospitality business but looking at all this there is less of that and more of rudeness and carelessness. Hope they take this feedback seriously as similar experiences happened to many of our business associates this weekend. — Gopal Pappu
