Review of Crowne Plaza Hotel Knoxville, an IHG Hotel 3*

I attended a wedding sat Feb 11th, I arrived at 9pm Friday evening. I attempted to check in and I was told I had to pay w a debit card (when I called and reserved in November I was told cash would work) I was also never told about an incidental charge they put on also. Most hotels I have stayed in you give them a current debit/cc # prior to stay, once you check out you pay either w card or cash. I however had pulled all my cash off of my card and came only w cash. The lady at the desk made my sister and I feel dumb bc we both had done the same. After calling multiple people to help us out since we were 10hours away from home, we were finally checked in. I went into my room and opened the bathroom door and the doorknob fell off in my hands… carpet was coming up in front of bathroom door also. Later I took my kids to the pool and I wanted to go into the hot tub (the pool was VERY cold) however the hot tub was filled in w wood chips…? We were charged $10 a day to park on top of our incidental charges and room charges. There is no continental breakfast and the breakfast they offer is pricey… but the breakfast buffet was good. There was dogs barking loudly two rooms down from mine, I would think w all the costs involved in my stay they would keep rooms housing dogs separate from guests w out dogs. There was 4 of us in room and we were given 1 shampoo, 1 bar of soap and 1 lotion. Normally I pack ALL toiletries myself, however we were being conscious of space during our drive and figured we would use hotel soap this time. I was expecting something more from this hotel. My other sister stayed across town at a Hampton inn and paid roughly the same amount but had twice the service. Not satisfied.
